Yes i have sprayed it around the base of the tree..and along both fences...but not near the wall..which is the main problem.as the chemical is bad for the birds too.

Good idea...but you need to talk to your husband and tell him that these things need to be discussed before he dismisses your authority like that..as as you can see that sends a signal to your son,that it does not matter what you say as father will over ride your command...that needs to be addressed promtly..so when you say something..it means it is from you & his father.

so she was at the clinic within half an hour of being hit. No leash, but there's no leash law in this county, and they were on a dirt back road - so why was the person driving fast enough on a dirt road to go completely over the top of a decent sized dog?

it's not so clear cut as that, ruru. this is a well cared for dog, who was not any further away from the owner than she would have been had she been ON a leash - many people who use leashes on runs use the 20 foot retractables... I've walked my own dogs off leash frequently in areas that I wasn't expecting traffic

From a legal standpoint, dog was in road, which creates a traffic hazard. But from a realistic standpoint, why was someone driving that fast on a dirt road with little traction and a TON of deer? was only bad luck for the dog that he hit the dog and not a wild animal 4 times her size that would have destroyed his car.

I live in an area where young kids speed around all the time.. dogs are off leash here and cats are loose.. all the time.. and animals are run over. I never, ever have my dog off leash.. and I don't use the flexies as you have no control.. but that's just me
she's doing better, but will likely need to see an orthopedic surgeon in a couple weeks to have her wrist fused. It's completely ripped open and was rotated almost 180 degrees from where it should have been. :(

Next door neigbours cat killed a bird in my garden a few days ago..i was well pissed.
Been trying to keep them out of my garden...the only thing that works so far..is for me to squirt them with a water pump.
But Jes is right, even the best safeguards aren't foolproof. Last week the garage door into family room got blown open (not shut tight). And the garage open. The one cat got out. LOL, thankfully, he had just escaped, and was freaked out when I saw the door open...he just froze until I went to pick him up.

So far, so good. The one who had a hip replacement will take some rehab in a rehab center. He isn't pleased he couldn't go home, but I think that will make him work harder at the rehab to get out.
