Rose, is your little gd a tomboy
well she does have 4 brothers, 2 full brothers, 2 half-brothers. but she loves to dance.
lol-guess she dosent have much choice then, does she
nope, not a lot.
Is she a version of you?

...slacker...
:D
Hi Peach and flosey - hope you are both well and have enjoyed the last few days.
hi Liz and thanks, had a great Christmas with grandson in Vancouver
Hi there, Liz and flosey.
hi Peach
Does enable not know that gritters come out when it's snowy to put grit on the road?
brb
we call them sanders here Liz
In the UK they're gritters - perhaps that's why enable doesn't recognise the word.
ah, new word for me - but anything that makes icy roads driveable
anyone have the te 7?
nm - found it
*!* ta da *!*
Sorry, Nan.
Congrats :)
WTG NAN!!!
good night everyone -- same time tomorrow :)
congrats Nan
Sleep well
night Nan
hi all
Hi jbp
hello jbp. how are you?
still full form Christmas. ;-=)
how's things with you Rose? I hope you are well.
jbp. i'm doing okay, hun. have been plugging away at MIL's rooms. nearly finished her wardrobe. found a heap more of old photos.
sometimes stuff like that (photos) is better if you wait a bit. I know that was the case with my mom.
Photos of Don as a child?
and hi pug. didn't see you there
re HI ibp
oops jbp
my body doing it's usual reaction to pain. appetite way down. so weight now starting to slide off. all good, of course. yes, pugs, photos of them all as babies.
i have decided what to do with my own mother's jewellery. have decided to leave it all to my niece, as the next female in line, in my will. i think it is important to keep it all together as a collection.
the pain isnt nice but since you are wanting to waste away then I guess the weight loss is good
lol, pugs, lots of me to waste away.
and will she?
i have to speak to her. she is away at present. when she comes back, will corner her..
Hope you're able to keep the weight off.
I hope she appreciates what a gift that is.
It's a fantastic gift.
liz, once i am active again, will be no problem.
You'll feel much happier for that.
can't wait to get into the hydro-therapy pool again...only place i can exercise without excruciating pain.
how soon will that be
How long should the pain last or is that like asking about the length of a piece of string?
i have to discuss with her what to do with the earrings. they are screw-ons. and i want to use them for pierced ears. so need to change settings to something more suitable.
did you buy you a nice polka dotted bikini to wear :)
I used the therapy pool after back surgery. indescribably awesome
Lol pugs
with the spasms from the fibromyalgia...not to sure. have already halved one pain med. with no ill effects.
I hate to ask, but might I get a C clue?
*giggle* trust you, pugs.
that is really great, Rose.
cy4, 5, 4
it's a drag to my energy to take pain killers
cy4, cy + abbreviation for mother
latin plural ending for cy5
thx rose. never would have got them
cy4, cy + **, not you
ths Rose
thanks, got 'em. it took me forever to stop trying cyte...\
i have to remain on basic pain meds due to arthritis and fibromyalgia. but will continue to challenge myself until i get off the oral morphine. just remember i am only just over 4 weeks post-op
yes, you don't want to try and stop taking the meds too early. otherwise you just end up with more pain (trust me. but i'm sure you already know that)
*giggle* make that just under 4 weeks post-op
Lol
Stats for the lone e and the m pls.
may i have a clue for the middle row E
jbp, i know i have to keep mobile, and pain will stop mobility. i am trying to be sensible about it.
m 4/7
et5/16
I've never been good at that rose
which is why I am still in a metric boatload of pain, myself
ma4/7.
jbp, you go at your own pace...and don't let anyone talk you out of it.
sadly, my pace is bull in a china shop
It is hard to keep mobile in pain
lolol...yeah i know...me too
Ty for the m
still working on that et. does it rhyme with anytihhng?
yeah, ruru. i know what you are going through, mate. and i so EMpathise.
so many great people on here with pain issues...
et + sometimes vowel + abbreviation for mother
which is why they are sleepless, jbp
ty vm for the et.
yes. which is me at 230 AM here ;-)
Ty from me too! Should've remembered that word!
I am sleeping now .
awww, hugs to you, sweetie.
headaches for me :(
and hugs to my pugs.
should we try and stick ruru's hand in warm water?
Awww...
or should we sing him a lullaby?
lolol, yeah jbp, let's do it
thanks Rose
you guys rock. it is always so great to log on
You all make me realise how lucky I am to be in such good health!
bit of a worry...ruru chogs in his sleep...*wonder what else he can do in his sleep*
sleep deprivation contributes to unwellness
and.......Rose, we have seltzer dragen
Lol, jbp
morning OO
hi o-o
hello
well, to all I say, have a good night/day. and hope to see you tomorrow.
night jbp
be well
Hope yup sleep well jbp
brb, need to take pills for this brain
okay Iam back
see you, jbp
you unwell OO? You are up awful early---so you cant sleep either
just loaded 4 bags of shoes, underwear, dressing gowns into the ute for an op. shop bin.
how close are you Rose to getting that project finished
I get plenty of sleep .... when I am tired, I take a nap before I fall asleep
well? for me, well is a deep subject for a shallow mind
a few weeks, pugs. bedroom nearly finished. problem is where to store every thing until the siblings are ready to look over the 'loot' and decide what they want to keep.
if you drop the bucket down into the well---whats it to bring up
do you have rental storage near you
Iam sorry guys, my head is hurting so much for the minute I cant think right, right now
Rose, just answered your email :)
OK - BBL - time for a shower and to get ready for the Sabbath.
Hope you get some relief soon, puglet
bye Liz
I should OO, just took some meds--thanks
thanx liz
yes, pugs...but i don't think it's an option...you would be able to hear the screams from there, when the sibs find out don and i are charging them for storage..
how long do they expect you guys to hold the stuff? I mean you guys to move on too
I left need out of there--sorry
yeah, i know, pugs. don't forget we are talking about 3 very self-centred, selfish people.
then give them notice that after a certain date the stuff is going into storage
or we could say we are going to throw it all out...that would make them come running. *sigh* they really dont understand that don and i need to have a life, finally.
It is your property. When I practiced law, I advised the owners to have an auctioneer itemize and put a value on the property. Then tell the people who may have an interest that they must decide what they want, the value of which will be deducted from their share upon probate. Any stuff not chosen will be auctioned off.
hmmm, very interesting, o-o. will pass that bit of wisdom on to himself. i have to remember i am a johnny-come-lately in this family.it's like walking on egg-shells.
I didnt know you were a lawman OO---how awsome
one of the most complicated professions, in my opinion. veterinary science is close behind it.
It was my youth dream to be a vet
lol, when my middle son announced he wanted to be a vet...i said to him...choose something easier, like law. of course, i was saying that with tongue in cheek.
I stopped practicing many years ago. It is a cutthroat business ... very stressful
and what did he end up chosing
o-o, just what is your hat size? i bet it is huge...
I can just inmagine OO
pugs, he went into banking.
thats not even close to either one--lol
o-o, just what is your icon tonight? can't make head nor tail of it.
I think its a planet--or thats what it looks like to me
the remains of a life that never was.
huh??? o-o, i think the meds have befuddles my brain. could you please explain?
*befuddled*
death of an sperm egg?
It is intended to complement my profile quote
aha! now that you explain it, it makes sense.
Rose, how did Decon like the wheels(did I get his name right)
almost, sweetie. deacon loved his quad bike, and so did everyone else below the age of 8...lolol
You'll have a lot to live up to next Xmas!
lol--does this mean grandma needs to buy a few more
wb Liz
Actually I bet all the adults wanted to ride the bike - well, all except Don perhaps!
yeah, i know. am already looking for one for claudia's birthday...lol
At least there'll be no arguments then! MUM! Claudia won't give me my bike back!!!! lol
liz, when deacon started doing wheel stands on it...i swear every male in the park turned green with envy.
I'd've loved to have seen that! I can just imagine!
so how many do you need? LOL
it was amazing...watching this 5 year old hooning around the park..and all the male eyes were on him. you could hear all the wheels clicking and whirring.
Where's Ru? I bet he wants to know why ti 7 (comparative) isn't a word!
Rose and Jbp sung him to sleep :)
Can't use hoon in babble! Enable won't like it!
i think my nephew( the one in the photo of deacon ) was pretty envious too.
You should've photographed all the dropped open jaws!
It really was an awesome pressie.
stupid enable..what does it know? hoon is so too a word.
they have some of the coolest things to ride out on the market
I agree. It so is. I felt so Aussie the first time I entered it!
lolol, liz. good for you!
And then was rejected!!! :(
never mind, liz. i still enter it every time i see it..lol...to no avail.
and in one grid it even had aussie and it wouldnt take that either
believe me, there are many hoons around here - just have to see the tyre marks on the roads!
What does enable know?
and what is a hoon
not real life, that is obvious.
lol
oh, dear. we have to heducate pugs
Hoon is a derogatory term used in Australia and New Zealand, to refer to anyone who engages in loutish, anti-social behaviours. From wikipedia
You mean heducmecate?
hedumecate! Sorry can't spell!
Liz, did you see the puzzle Crossy put on yesterday
*giggle*...your spelling is atrocious. fancy!! can't spell hedumacate!!
Yes, pugs - I've done the babble one - loved it but was glad I wasn't on babble then and I've started the river mountain one! Crossy's evil!!!!
True Rose!
but, then, neither can i. lolol
Or ture roes
A bit like a young man that Ru and I and some others think tries too hard to misspell words!
Hes not on much anymore
aagghh, don't go there, hun. from your lips to God's ear...
is it close to school holidays over there, pugs?
they started friday(before xmas) and they return the monday after NY
we are thinking of hanging onto mother mac's electric bed...if her usual respite centre doesn't want it, that is.
like a hospital bed?
oh, such a short break. over here they don't return until the end of january/early february.
You mean a bed that you can raise the head?
yes, pugs. almost. it allows you to raise the head or feet.
Don't forget it's winter " oop north" the long break is in July August, the summer.
I bet its one of those vibrating beds :)
what we were thinking was to be our bedroom, we are going to turn into a bedroom/playroom ar4.
Shades of grey! Lol
naughty liz!!!
can you and don fit into the bed together
Of course, rose
i wish, pugs..but it is only a single...then again we could fit...hmmm.
Life would be too boring otherwise!
all kinds of positions with a bed like that
Lol pugs
and all supported...lolol
does it got side rails so you dont fall out? Cant take a chance of injuries
pugs only on one side. so maybe not such a hot idea...lol
hey, anyone hear from the joso lately?
push the open side against the wall--dont give up on the fun
oh, dear, pugs...lololol
No--Sprite,Crossy and I have emailed him--we are worried about him
nearly dinner time.
whats on the menu tonight
Bon appetite Rose. Another 30 mins or so, here.
and as i speak...dinner ready. xoxox pasta with chicken mushroom sauce, and garlic bread.
yummy---enjoy Rose
Pugs, perhaps joso's feeling a bit low after moving and is just gaming with his mates.
Yummy!
Liz is your and Rose's time different
Roast chicken here, with garlic, lemon and rosemary.
see you all tomorrow.
I hope its something like that Liz
At this time of year it's an hour later for Rose than here.
hugs and bye Rose
Have a good evening. Hugs.
So it's almost 7 pm here and almost 8 pm for Rose.
yours sound good too Liz----you fixing it on the grill
In the oven tonight. It's wash at we often have on Friday night.
its almost 4am here
Wash? What!
Do you sleep during the day pugs?
I got it
sometimes---cat naps---if I sleep more then a couple of hours I get terrible headaches
That's tough for you. I couldn't function on so little sleep!
I bet living where you do is very relaxing
It is! I'm very lucky. It's such a contrast after living in London all my life! I love it!
How did you end up moving there--if you dont mind me asking
Because my hubby's an Aussie and he was homesick. I fell in love with this ar 4 when we came on holiday here in 2004.
it must of been a bit scarey to move to a new country and new culture
Actually not too hard. I miss my family and friends though. I know some people here and then I've got rolins family, who've adopted me!
that was nice of you to go with him to return home
The good stuff makes up for the rest.
do you stay in contact with friends from your homeland
I was ready to give up teaching and make a change in my life. It all happened at the right time.
do you not work now
Yes and some have been to visit. We've also been back and will go back next year.
what did you teach
No. Took early retirement.
Primary but specialised in English.
thats nice. So many times you lose friends when there are great distance
Skype also helps.
I dont know what that is--sorry
Speaking on the computer, like a phone but it's live and you can see each other.
was your hubby a teacher as well
ahh okay
Yes. We met at the school where we both taught.
so you became the teacher's pet then--lol
Lol
Or he did!
I bet you got the biggest reddest apples--lol
Got to go now, pugs. iPad battery is getting low. I'll be back in a few hours. Hugs.
Lol
did he also teach english
hugs and bye Liz
No. Or yes. We both taught all primary subjects but I moved school and that's when I specialised.
Bye now :)
good morning, anyone/everyone. Yesterday's grid was delicious, but it was a particularly busy day andI could only do a little more than half before my "playtime" ran out.
Morning ruby. Hope you've had a lovely Christmas :)
Morning Ruby
{{little pugs}}
{{chrissie}}
it was quiet and white, both good things, but yesterday was crazy
Oh, why was that?
the snowbirds are back, so, on top of outside appointments, we had "drop-in" company
are the snowbirds white Ruby--------and hi Chrissie
my housekeeper went to Turkey on holiday, so her sister is helping out, but it's not the same
Morning pugs :)
Googled snowbirds - are they people ruby?
they are friends from Sweden and from Ireland who have houses I our village for winter sports. So far, the weather hasn't cooperated for them. Too bad LOL
they are all skiiers and there are several ski areas about 1/2 hr from here
that gives you some company then for a while
Are you supposed to entertain them when they can't ski, or was it a welcome visit
yes I had a lovely visit yesterday with my Irish friends. They have 2 daughters whom I have known for about 12 or 13 years. They are lovely young women now, and great appreciaters of my pups
thats really nice for you Ruby--kind of someone to take your mind off of things for just a bit
and I be t the pups enjoy the extra pets too
exactly! Unfortunately, because of the protracted rain and accompanying mud,the dogs looked pretty scruffy, especially that baby
she looks like an orphan
does your chows like the rain Ruby
Rufie stays surprisingly dry, but Raffie doesn't seem to care and gets soaked and uddy. Her fur is so dense that it's impossible to dry her and she looks awful
My old boy, Rufus, would not go out in the rain and once went 26 hours without peeing!
I can't imagine life without dogs!
Oh me either Ruby
boor
sorry. Is there any Christmas pudding in the PB?
Elsie is the only one that dont mind getting wet or muggy--but being a boxer shes not too hard to dry and clean
I dont know Ruby
that's the problem, of course, with long =haired dogs. Rufie is a "rough chow", so his fur is crisper and straighter and he doesn't have the dense undercoat. He's also smart enough, not to roll around in the mud
I have times when Beulah has rolled Elsie in the mud and man then I have a mess--lol
andmuddy footprints in the house? Happily, they don't ever get on the furniture
will she let you use a blow dryer on her Ruby
What sort of dog is Beulah pugs
shes a great dane
I haven't tr***, but she doesn't even like it if I come near her with a towel or comb
I tried using a dryer on my pug last week and she acted like it was a monster after her--lol So I just towel dryed her(she has a thick coat too)
Raffie is so big already, that it would take two people to do anything and y husband is useless
he wants to be the good guy
right now shes young Ruby and full of energy as time goes by she should calm down
yeah, I have my girlfriend cut my dogs nails for me so I can be the good guy for mine==lol
Rufie now spends at least an hour and 1/2 on the floor with me at night, cuddling and being petted and combed. He gets in my lap (such as it is lol), all 80 lbs of him
good morning all :)
It's what Ruby used to do when Rufie was a pup
it would probaly be easier for you to get on the floor Ruby
{{sprite}} I tried to e-mai you on Christmas but with 3 addresses, I chose the wrong one!
And good mroning Sprite :)----hope you are feeling chirpy today
and you were in the grid yesterday, so I felt terrible!
aw poor ruby. Stick with the spriteweb @ upcmail.nl in doubt, it is the one I use for babble and babblers.
pugs, the problem isn't getting down on the floor as I'm pretty limber for an old lady, it's getting upp that's tough
hiya pug *hugs* I am ok :)
I also had trouble getting some things through to Sprite
looks like we are punished for having a big grid yesterday, lol
maybe it was due to so many online
the elusive sprite, the pixie!
how odd... nothing has changed here.
just okay Sprite and not perky and chirpy
*giggles* that's me, ruby, that's me ;)
well what i sent afterwards went right on through
and now old Nel has to poof!
bye ya Ruby
just out of bed, pug, so a bit dazed still, grin. Otherwise... very well, relaxed, content, still going strong on the food thing, probably still losing weight even though it is Xmas.
bye and hugs, ladies!!!
bye ruby, have a good one... *hugs*
and you, my dear pug? How are you today?
I came to babble this morning with an awful headache--so bad I couldnt even talk much to OO and Rose---but its now has subsided
aw poor dear! You must have felt terrible. Glad things are a little be6 now.
they are---I took some pills :)
that's what they are there for. Do you know what is causing all those headaches?
no not really---if I sleep over two or three hours I wake with them
I wonder... do you clamp your jaws in your sleep, or gnash your teeth?
did you have family cons. today or is it off until after NY
not that I know of Sprite---no one has ever griped that I do.
family constellations was a 2-times thing this time. Don't know when the next cycle will be. Am free today :)
so you have the whole house to yourself too
and do you air your room at night? So some oxygen can come in and replace what you use?
lol no sweetie. My children have holidays from school and my husband has taken a couple of days off as well.
yes, I keep a window cracked and I sometimes sleep in my lounge chair and sometimes in the bed and it makes no different
then all I can come up with is you are too tense, and sleeping releases some of the tension and it gives a reaction :(
I started taking a low dosage asprin the first of the month and I thought that that was helping until this morning
wish I could help :( Such a horrible thing to have happening to you every time you start having a decent sleep
well in the evening yesterday hubby was getting under my skin and that might be true---never thought of that
i have same problem pug.. wake up every day with bad headaches..cannot lay down after that. dr thinks its sinuses.
hi ivesy!
and good morning all
Hi Ivesy
sorry to hear that. Sorry for both of you you suffer from this :(
yeah laying down makes it worse for sure
i have to get up and put a moist heating bad on my head...rite now i have heating pad on back of head lol
you recon our smoking plays into it
hate to say it but yes i do....
how was your holiday Ivesy
Pops nose out of grid - finished !
congrats Chrissie
hiya Chrissie, wtg!!!!!
Hope your heads get better son pugs and ivesy
thanks CD
*soon
was very nice, ty.. spent with family that is left around here.. we are very comfortable with each other.. we are the strays lol.. hope yours was peaceful.
ty chrissie
sprite, did you see the puzzle crossy put up
yes mine was---thats good Ivesy
I did, pug! Made the wood and stream one yesterday, will do the babble one today.
Have a god day all. "See" you tomorrow. ((Hugs)) all round
it was, very peaceful and relaxed Xmas this year
bye Chrissie, have a good day
thta is good to hear sprite
I did the babble one and you are on it---
bye Chrissie
once you get to jigidi, how do yo find his puzzles?
lol am I? Awesome. That was a gr5 day in Babbleland, that monster grid.
click Puzzles and then By User, ivesy, and then enter crosshair
I got the one you sent me Sprite
forgot to say thanks
ok ty... after today i have five wonderful days off..going to my book on learning to find peace in my life..
is there such a thing--lol
wow, nice going ivesy, good theme for the next year. *hugs*
am glad, pug. Not many puzzles with puglets in it :)
lol my son got it for me.. i have been very stressed. blow up at littlest thing..i really think my shot makes me very agitated
Sprite what was your icon on that puzzle Crossy put up--I didnt even look
sounds like a good possibility, ivesy.
someone put on a 500 puzzle of pugs and Iam working it but its almost too big for my screen to work
I think that one said: "I used to fight my inner demons, but we are good friends now"
why Ivesy, did you blow up on him--lol
pug, you can zoom out if you want. Using the - and + buttons in the upper right corner
yep lol.. sure did and its about time lol
jigsaw puzzles are very relaxing.
I agree. And playing them online has a load of pros over having one in the living room, lol.
I do Sprite but to do so its hard for me to see the colors very well when I downsize it to fit my screen
new word for the babble dictionary: argree - keep debating even though you agree
time for coffee..hope you both have great day..!
ok pug, am sorry :( Can't be remedied then.
and you too, ivesy!
you too Ivesy and enjoy your me time
np Sprite--this is the biggest Ive worked on there--I will know better the next time---my mistake :)
could you please send me the link to the pug puzzle?
hold on a sec
Sprite, I dont know how to get the link but this is who put the puzzle on---gypsywest (will this help)
oh yes, that will help, no problem. For a next time, just copy the URL address from the top of the browser. :) Thanks for trying.
I think I see it... the Xmas one?
okay, will try to remember that and do it
yes--2 pugs
very sweet :)
it is cute
a few weeks ago someone put on real old paper doll cut outs--they made me think of my grandmas and going to her house. She use to make us paper dolls and clothes--lol
oh nice!
theres too many I want to work on there--lol
oh yeah. I have bookmarked a whole load, lots of fantasy puzzles too. And mosaics. Will probably make you a pug one today.
dont go to any trouble Sprite--I dont want to take you away from your puzzles
sweetie, I enjoy creating them and I will love making one for you. Or 2 or 3. Don't worry, just enjoy making them.
I cant say I got one favorite type really---I like colors---someone put on a smallish one of a grape pitcher with flowers and I done it--it was bright and cheerful
fireflies. Anything I can clue before I go?
great then Sprite
congrats and no ths---Iam about to go to J for awhile---have a great day and hugs and bye
*hugs* my dear pug. have a good one today.
good morning everyone:)
morning crossy
morning babblers :)
hi annie
howdy,annire
Hi all :)
howdy,liz;)
Hi Liz :) recovered from yesterday's grid?
Loved the babble jigsaw, crossy. Have now returned to the evil mountain scene. Has to be one of the hardest jigsaws I've ever done!
Yes, Annie! And you? Thank goodness lickety came online this morning.
lol.glad you enjoy my puzzles, liz;)
Liz, lickety was a grid saver for me...he came on around 5 pm, my time
Yes, I am enjoying the challenge. I think it'll be a bit easier tomorrow in natural light. It's almost 11 pm now and I'm tired too!
And it's a beautiful pic, crossy!
hello everybody
back from lunch
erhaps I should of made that one a 350 instead of a 400+

It's very cold but beautiful and sunny and the cliffs are frosted

So nice to come in here and feel the warmth!
pull up a chair, ruby.crossy has the wood stove going and breakfast is almost ready
well you're a nice person...
It's lovely to see you but I think I'm off to bed. Funny how a fairly lazy day makes you more exhausted than a day when you've been active! Well it does me!
So, goodnight all and enjoy your days. Hugs all around :)
just had veal kidneys for lunch (not at home). It's only the second time I've eaten them and they were not bad

Greetings, Babblers!
Hi Judi
Hi all, new here. Don't have a clue as to what I'm doing.
Welcome to the insanity, zophas!
hi zophas, welcome to Babble!
Before you get started, you may want to click on the "help" box up at the top of the page. That will give you the game instructions, etc.
Damn, looks like I need an avatar.
bbl, popped in for a few.. too much going on this morning to Babble in peace!
I figured out how it works. But don't understand clues like ai6 etc.
That means: The word starts with "ai" and has six letters.
Ok thanks.
And what about something like gr5/20?
The 20 is how many points are in the word.
That means a fie letter word starting with gr worth 20 points.
Ok thank you all. I think I'm getting this now.
zophas, if you go to the help button above the chat box, it will tell you about scoring and such.
Yes I have looked at that but still have many questions.
Well, fire away, Zophas. We'll help all we can.
Ask away. Babblers are friendly folks and will help.
And welcome to this addictive game.
Yesterdays grid of 400+ words, is there some place I can find what the words were? I joined a few hours before that grid closed.
Archives
The archives button will take you to the words.
I don't believe previous grids or word lists are available after the fact, unless someone still has the answers posted under their icon.
Ok thanks. I'll try that now.
Oops. I stand corrected.
Phantom: mud-honey
o-o, you always have the strangest phantoms.
my phantoms are REAL
I know they are real.
I suppose "phantom" could be a euphemism for a delusion?
Could be.
My phantom today is doobie.
Not that I would know what that is...
mud-honey, n. 1855 Worldly or material pleasures.
Doobie - noun Slang. a marijuana cigarette. Origin: 1975–80; orig. unknown
Finito!
Congrats, Judi.
Off to balance the checkbook and pay the bills. See you kids tomorrow! Zophas, we expect you to have mastered all of this by tomorrow. There will be a test! (I'm kidding. Enjoy!)
Lots of mammaries in the grid today.
To be is to do -Socrates. To do is to be -Sartre. Doobie Doobie Doo -Sinatra.

Small grids are always more challenging due to odd words.
not feeling well today. combo of harder exercise class and post nasal drip. and also raking leaves. my muscles hurt
Raking leaves? I was shoveling snow earlier.

Don't have the ai8.

Not an easy grid.
hit a wall with 20 to go
I'm still recovering from yesterday Scrabs. Did you do yesterday's grid, 439 words and no list for most of it
Hi Dan
Hi Dan
Me too bich
I was sure glad to see lickety yesterday!
I lurked last night and went to bed with 84 to go.
I finally finished, all bleary eyed
I'm trying to see how long I can keep my perfect score in the "who's hot" department. It's the only time I hear that comment any more.
so I finished....
I never look at that. Too depressing. I never move up no matter how many times I finish
I looked at what I needed--so many co- words, and others, and decided I couldn't search anymore
I looked at what I needed--so many co- words, and others, and decided I couldn't search anymore
Once you have about 15 days in a row you start moving up in leaps and bounds.....
Trouble is I finish about 8 in a row then get hit with a toughie and no list
Lickety's List is the key to finishing tough and long grids.
Sometimes you just don't have the time to devote to it
te7>
One of the 5 I am looking for now, Jane.
which t does it come from
don't know
I have no idea what it would be

Hi, sue! Just saw a posting from Tedybeth (dancing Snoopy) on Facebook asking if any of us has experience as a caregiver for cancer patient and I thought of you....if you can, maybe you could share with her?
tadone!! finito! and hello everyone!
Sorry, sue---I just noticed that you already got in touch with her...you're a good woman. Now I'm back to work.
afternoon everyone
and now it is time for crossy's quote of the day!!
If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before.
((mimi))
darn, forgot the quotes, here ya go.. "quotes"
bummer, I missed mimicat!
nice to see crossy and jindigo, though :-)
:)
suze:)) howdy jindigo. oddly enough you remind me of jigsaw puzzles
how?
the jigsaw site is called jigidi :-)
will be attempting on of yours next, suze
I only know Jigzone - will check that out.
nice, crossy! I haven't done any in quite a while, should get back to it, I suppose
jigidi is more of an addiction than this place...
I always have a jigsaw on the go
as do I now.i have used it only a week and now there is always a puzzle going
it doesn't have the chat, though, which is what I really find addictive about Babble
just finishing off sprites windmills
Just what is a jigsaw puzzle ... do you dance with a chain saw?
now,if it had a chat, that would be awesome
no,o-o, you stand stationary with jigsaw while people run around you with pictures
well, I suppose if you juggle chainsaws you could dance with them too...
hmm seems a rather odd activity
only once you add booze to the mix
many activities can seem odd if you think about them long enough
like eating ... poking killed cow through a hole in your face?
I am thinking of adopting a Chinchilla. Has anyone had experience with one yet?
my son and his girlfriend wanted a chinchilla, so I read up about them a bit - they are cute but require a lot of care
they have a musky odour and are very nocturnal
how about a guinea pig?
shudder
guinea pigs are easier, I think, more like a large gerbil
I can still hear mine going..squee1..squeee...squeee..SQUEE!\n! all night long
perhaps a nice quiet turtle?
I would definatly do some online research before adopting a chinchillia
fireworks!
yaaa for suze!!
chinchilla out, looking more at the gp now
My pet rock is resilient and low maintenance.
Turtles produce a lot of waste - need to clean tank and change filter regulary.
*peeking in*
hello welki
Need TE 7/36 for fireworks - clue please?
hi, jindigo - small grid = quiet chat today
sounds like a mineral rock, if that helps
Tiny compared to yesterday which was a monster
(but it's not a mineral rock, just sounds like an ore)
i can give another clue if that one's not working, just say the word
im not getting it
word
t + unit of energy + a suffix meaning follower
Thank you welki
my pleasure :)
F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S*
i'm out *poof*
congrats!
hello all....can i get STATS for the fourth column e please?
et5/16
tyvm!
This chog is some kinda dead
yes....
i am down to three
24 left

I thinalthough pretty, that chinchillas might be nasty. They are, after all, just any rodets, non?
great spelling-----it'slate
ad gerbils eat their babies when stressed
((((Ruby)))))! And hi everybody :-)
i don't know anything about chinchillas...
hi
can someone clue the et word please?
{{soodle}} I was thinking about you. My friends from Dubin are here and they taught me a gallic wword "craik" = fun
My friend wears a sealsi coat with a chnchillas collar
et + high point letter + not pa
as in sit down and show e some raik
ty
Were they putting me on?
sealskin*
Et + sweet potato, backwards....
Friends from Dublin. You must be having lots of craik
they keep an apartment up the road and come a few times a year for skiing in winter and visiting in summer
Tres jolie
i am done!
I've know them since Martina saw my name on the maibox, Kelley, and assumed aI was Irish. Was she ever surprised! lol
I'm all craiced out. Having a quiet night in & loving it.
Jewish from Queens, very Irish
I;ve know them for aout 13 or 14 years
and their girls are grown u now an very lovely. The elder is about 6'4""' she towers over e. And they love our dogs so it's very nice for me when they're here
You having trouble sleeping, Rubes? You are up late.
I always wanted to arry an Irishman! Did it once at least
ran out of reading material, had a snack and et the pups out
I'm fond of Germans
night all, FW
I;m trying to think if Ive ever ha one.....naughty nel
Well done, Bich. Night. X
<-- loves blue-eyed Irishmen! Or at least, used to
Hmmm. A French accent will always do it for me.....
I'll give you Gendarme Bedos number' he's very handsome
irea
I got a call in work the other day from a Frenchman..... To this day I have no idea what he wanted, but I prolonged the call just to hear him talking. I need to get a life....
I thin I used to have a life....
attire
sorry, god night ladies and everyone else
Guys, I'm tired. I'm off to bed. Night night. Rubes, we'll chat soon.
{{soodle}} will write soon
done! 3:13 min for sprites windmill puzzle on jigidi!. crossy is a slowpoke
hi there - crossy, what's sprite's name on jigidi?
(nevermind - found her!)
think it is 7-Up
I've known her since she was Nehi
actually when she was born by Dr. Pepper :D
<---free associating
hi ruru and welki. it looks like everyone else is gone
hi bugs.. welki is ignoring me and my bad jokes
are you well rested after the flurry of action over the last week ruru? all is silent here now
flurry of action? where?
things don't pick up over the holidays for you with parties, feasts and people coming by?
if not, you are one of the lucky ones. I hate working to deadlines
no .. not really.. things kind of wind down for me just before the holidays.. there isn't much more I can do in my biz. I did do a few xmas parties.. but didn't overdo it... didn't have people coming by though.. just got to rest and read
that is what i consider a holiday
ahh,there is life in babblemnd:)
babbleland
hi crossy. not much life tho
Hello Everyone----enjoyed your puzzles Crossy
babblemind? .. god forbid
do you ever sleep pugs?
ty,puglet, I am glad you liked them. I am doung one of uusue puzzles now
of course Ru---do you? :)
is this on jigidi crossy? I had no idea so many Babblers made puzzles for it
it is,indeed,bugsaw
sprite is spritelet, uusue is uusue and I am of course crosshair on jigidi
I must check
Crossy the one of the old farm place, is this a photo you took
and I am Bugsaw but I never make puzzles, just do them
we need several addictions to sooth our adhd and ocd
it is indeed.these are all pictures that I or my wife took
i am very proud of the shot of the steamship
nature shots are easy
you dont see too many of those old pump houses any more
i will have some winter wonderland shots on top of Blue Mtn coming soon for jigidi
they are super rare here as well, puglet, especially in that style
you see lots of the old beatty cattle water pumpers, but not the little pump houses for home use
Ive only seen one here near me and it was made of wood. I think that one of yours is older
do you have alot of old barns about you? I like old barns
Did you fall asleep Ruru
puglet,i could flood your in box with a widw variety of very old barns.we are blessed in that many are still standing
there are even a few of the old Mennonite octagonal barns still around
though oddly enough, they used to paint them white and not red
oh wow, Crossy that would be nice
all peg and post and dovetailed.no nails
only hardware is for the doors and windows
how great to explore
things are astounding.much of it from massive first growth timbers
its in buildings like those that you find real craftmens work
they make the wooden dowels out of softwood,we them, then hammer them into the pilot holes that are at a bean junction.then they swell in there tight
wet them*
beam
other times they hammer the dowels in and use small metal wedges the size of your thumb that are driven into the end of the soft dowel
I have two covered bridges near me and the craftmen work on them are simular to the old barns
sadly we have almost no wooden covered bridges left;(( a few on the east coast ,but they are few and far between in Ontario.
sounds like you have done some of this work Crossy, have you
sorry customers on the phone.. loooong winded
I find it sad to see these old barns disapearing
no,puglet, but i was privileged to witness a old fashioned Mennonite barn raising day a while ago
Brown betty is a dessert. They had atelier yesterday and it's not even english. can we change to a more reasonable dictionary?
I bet that was very interesting
it is often done for newly wed couples. they get about 50 men together and it is often done in a single day
what is it kaplan?
Actually, that would probably htrow us off, because we know the weird enable words that might not be in other dictionaries.
never heard of brown betty
I use to collect hammers(why I dont know, just appealed to me) Ive got some very old ones
I don't know but there was a story relating to the algonquin hotel era that involved Brown betty.
I'm sure chocolate is a part of it.
once again, have no idea who or what a brown betty is
A Brown Betty is a traditional American dessert made from fruit (usually apple, but also berries or pears) and sweetened crumbs. Similar to a Cobbler or Apple Crisp, the fruit is baked and in this case the sweetened crumbs are in layers between the fruit. It is usually served with lemon sauce or whipped cream.
ty, o-o
I have Amish near me and they still do barn raising and sometimes they even help build each others homes
it is well worth watching if you get the chance, puglet
Frank Crowninshield or Alec Woollcott or somebody told everyone how good the Brown Betty was, and had such a craving for it, but when it came time to order it, the waiter said, I'm sorry sir, we're all out, it was unusually popular tonight. So he never got the Brown betty.
No chocolate? Then feh on Brown Betty.
You had to be there, which I wasn't, or at least know where to find the anecdote.
some of our most strict Mennonites still have no electricity on their property.they hate the idea of being chained to some "unknown company and getting a bill for the privilege"
I should be a Luddite, but then I couldn't Babble. Go see the movie "Her" when it gets to a theater near you.
the Amish are the same here Crossy--no electric nor phones or cars etc
and they farm with horses
no mirrors in the house,etc
I dont know if the Amish has mirrors, never thought about that
I know they mainly just have the basic needs
and a continuously rotated suppy of home canned goods that will last 6 months
They raise and put up most of their own food
the poor women of the house are chained to that kitchen right from harvest time till the snow flies
Was Allen Ludden a Luddite? Or Was Betty White?
they make all their clothes but I think they buy their shoes
Betty white rocks!:))
lol kap
Isn't it interesting how we can associate from Brown Betty to Betty White in one chog?
I can anyway.
we just practice free range association here
<--waiting for Betty Boop entry
just think of it as the worlds largest verbal ink blot test
What did Bob Hope for? And who gave Mary Tyler Moore? What did Doris do all Day?
shes almost in the grid
But she isn't.
betty is in da grid
Was Martin Short? And what did Stevie Wonder?
see/ that woan is everywhere!
But she isn't a word.
brb with a link to a song
we,, stevie was wondering where martin was taking him, since stevie has to ride shotgun
damn,damn typos
amazing to think i pulled a 90% in my last English class eh?
shocking :D
bet Typing class would be more of a challenge however
:D

I need to go do up a few dishes then if my Iam lucky a couple of hours of sleep to make it to the flip---Night E1
gn puglet
if that link didn't work: The other name gave chenille sisters in you tube. Is Linda Gray? Is Karen Black? Who gave Roberta Flack?
Was Fay Done away? Who did Robert Goulet?
here,Kaplan,have some vodka.
Ah, Wodka!
Was Shelley Long or Short?
Good morning all :)
yup.your choice: Ketle 1, Smirnoff blue label, my own bacon vodka or polish potato vodka
howdy,liz
I'd rather have a hot Toddy but he's not home.
Still battling away, Crossy! 3 hours into it now and most of the background trees are complete!
lol, liz!! puglet said she has done it already, but i think she did not sleep last night lol
i am doing one of uusue's puzzles now
Don't know what i'll do next. Have loads bookmarked! I might try sprite's pugs.
Just looked at the leaderboard on your puzzle! I won't beat Sprite at 3 hours 20 mins but then there's a 4 hour one and then 7 and then 14 hours! I should beat that!
However need to knock off these last 16 words before I go back to the puzzle!
yaa for liz!!
More puzzles? Help me , no!
Jigidi is soooo addictive!
my most popular seems to be the R.M.S Segwun last i looked,49 or so had played it
very,very addictive
almost worse that babble
It's a beautiful pic - you take lovely photos.
if jigidi had a chat, then all would be lost
I'm toying with the idea of a composite of some of the whales we've seen.
tyvm, liz.every single photo was taken with a old i-phone 4s
I went into a camera shop when I was in Jasper this summer because my point and shoot wasn't coping too well with the snow and skies and they told me that my iPhone would probably take better shots!
it is not so much the camera as the light and positioning and she was right.untill you get up over 1000 dollars in a digital camera, you are just as good to stay with your i-phone
For my birthday I got a canon power shot - still point and shoot but much more adaptable and programmable! I'm getting used to it but I love it.
correct light is everything. now i know why the pros will sit for hours for that perfect light situation
The bright Aussie light is very hard on photos.
i am sure it si
is
very harsh lighting there in summer
Yes - in winter too but usually I love this climate. We don't have too many humid days and it's great waking up to blue skies - not today though!
today was great for taking pics on the mountain.a heavy snowfall 2 days ago coated every tree limb in a white blanket
i will put some in jigidi soon
I think that sounds beautiful. Reminds me of a horrible drive home from work in London a few years ago - beautiful but a 40 minute drive took 6 hours and I had to abandon the car and walk the last mile!
:(( with my new jeep wrangler, crossy pulls other out of the ditch:))
My Jazz couldn't cope with the hill - 2 years running!
Your car sounds ideal for your weather.
no,your jazz would not make it i am afraid
Fireworks - hate it when I finish with an obvious word like tr 5! After all, I'd tr 5 so hard!
yaa for liz!!!
think i may head back to uusues puzzle.my heart is not in this grid today
OK off for a bit more time on your evil puzzle! lol! Catch you later :)
tc,liz
and it is not evil! it is a pretty little mountain stream!
tc all and happy babbling!..poink!
a
good evening!
hello all -- there are LIGHTS (or at least the power boxes for the lights) in the house!!! Once the inspection is done (next week? week after?) and the power is hooked up we can start insulating and drywalling! *bounce bounce* SO EXCITED!!!

Could I get a clue for gr8, please?
it is more of the previous two words...
I don't know what the previous two words are?
if a mystery is hard boiled, you could say that it is gr 8 than many other mysteries...
thanks got it
Hello all! Just getting here. Is this grid doable in an hour?
yw
perhaps...
i hope so min, cuz I'm just starting myself :)
hi everybody :)
Hello jessdraggon! How are you doing? Welcome to chog.
hi
I am well, Minver, though I appear to have a knack for pissing off clients lately
and yourself?
After easily getting 55 words, I am now going to the list.
wow, you're FAST
I've only got 39
I got all the 7 clues except the te.... Does it begin and end with te?
I'm well jesdraggon. I don't piss off clients, just husband.
be6/24 the first one please?

to calm the savage beast in minver and jes :D
yes and from *a*s to riches
followed by first person singular
I'm not that savage, ruru... it's only nominally my fault that mrs took offense at the comment that her husband is rude, since said husband thought it was acceptable to stand in my personal space swinging his arms and yelling about how my entire staff sucks and he can't believe I employ them...
I mean, I >guess< I could have cowered and fled, but...
believe me I've seen it at my vets jes. some people just don't get it
good evening babblers
howdy, feather :)
:)
Okay, feeling dense, but i dont get the te7 clue. Not seeing rag in the puzzle at all.
how about rg
t + unit of work + you build on a ****....
sorry...should be you build on a s***...
hey weedie
thanks, penquis
yw...
Got it now. The a was throwing me off.
so Mrs kept saying how we are in a small town and word gets around, clearly threatening me with badmouthing the clinic to everyone she knows.
She got really pissed when I finally said you know, you're right, we're in a small town. And because we're in a small town, I've heard from several other people how unreasonable your husband is and how he treats people like this all the time, and I think ou need to keep in mind that the "communication problems" you have at future clinics may not be entirely the fault of the staffs there.
perhaps you might want to change your profile, featherbee, for part two?
thought it was on part two?
Thank you Lickety! I am now down to twelve words left!
hang on
I got the notice already ....
Try that please?
Just changed the tinyurl
oh hey, if someone here is from ND, thank you so much!

What is troublesome is how teachers and students have do fundraisers to supplement appropriations
I know. I think back to when I first started teaching, and could order things like this with my yearly budget. Now I have to decide if I really need as much finger paint as I ordered, or am I over-ordering.
Even 2 years ago, I still could order one "luxury" item on my list of necessities. Now we're on an "as needed" budget. Meaning we're not told a certain amount we can each use, we only order the basics of what we need.
For example, three years ago my budget was $360ish, and I could order anything from the supply catalog I felt I needed. Now we order as a grade level only those things we absolutely need, and the order must be approved.
hello--9 to go here!

ruru, thinking about kitchen lighting -- undercabinet. Do you have a preference for LED vs xenon? Tom is leaning toward LED.
hello everyone :)
in the old house we had some LED puck lights we put up (IKEA, of course), but we have a chance to direct wire lights this time.
hey nan!
I don't know what a xenon light is
I do like LED lighting though
I think it's sort of like a less-mercury filled fluorescent
okay, LED it is! :-D
hi nan
I don't like flourescent lighting
not warm
I don't either (like fluorescents)
