Hello Peach
just noticed, wtg Dee
had a great day today... it was so beautiful - little humidity, sunny skies...
ty, flosey
nice! has been the same here too
we had a very light rain, went for a walk anyway
my very favorite weather
the air smelled so fresh
It sure did, flosey!
Even sat out on the deck tonight without sneezing :)
It was warm enough I played in the creek with the kids
Bet the water was a bit chilly.
what fun, pugs
to me a bit but not the kids-lol
lol... can't believe how they can handle such cold water.. our daughter was that way when she was little
oh I know--I had two 4yrs olds a two yr old and a 7 yr old
that's quite a handfull, pugs
they were all good though--they had fun
Hey there, puglet.
wow, you must be quick to handle those under 4. Well done!
brb
the worse is they all want to hold on to me --lol
of course
I like playing with them. They know I will take them in the water to explore when the other adults wont--lol But I dont mind
bet they all love Pugs
You sound like my hubby. When little ones are around, he is game for almost anything. Such wonderful memories, pugs!
Dee, could you please give me a clue for the es7s?
me too--they like hiking and stuff---sometimes I think some adults forget what its like as a kid
too true, pugs
we get down and play cars and trucks and stuff in the dirt--lol its okay getting down but getting up is another story-lol

lovely, flosey
it was fun, we all chummed around together
now only 2 of us left and never see her anymore, she's back in ON
too bad she isn't on Facebook so you could reconnect... or have email..
it's been too long - probably last saw her 30 +/- years ago
I bet she hasent forgotten you Flosey though
there are a few of my high school friends that I have been able to touch base with on Facebook, really the only reason I started using it.
would be difficult to find her now
it's interesting, on Facebook, I see all our kids' friends - chat with a few
one of our old babysitters saw our wedding pic in FB on our 50th anniversary (daughter put it in) and she sent me the loveliest email
What a great surprise! That was really sweet of her. Bet that warmed your heart :)
sure did, gave me a run down of all her family - they lived next door
so cool!
but moved away and that was the first we had heard from them
how long has it been since you had heard from them Flosey
have to think back, I think the kids were all still in school
my youngest is now 445
oops, 45
oh I bet that was a nice surprise then
it was so sweet
I love those kind of stories.
a cousin I hadn't seen in about 30 years also saw it and emailed me
no, make that 40 years - was his wedding
flosey you are so young acting, it is difficult to believe you have a 45 year old
cooee and g'day from me
ty Dee
hi (((rose))) hope your day was a good one
hi there rose
it was good, thanx dee, and hi flosey. how are you all today/night?
yqw :)
fine thanks rose
flosey, may i askhow old your eldest is?
had a lovely day... just getting ready to wind down and check out my pillow. Weather was stupendous; had a nice time sitting on the deck this afternoon :)
Hugs and Hi Rose
how lovely, dee. nothing like sitting in your own piece of sunshine, is there?
{{hugs}} miz pugs
so true... really a mood uplifter... hubby enjoyed it, too, he has been working too hard in the yard the last 2 days... trying to act like a 20 year old
Anyone need anymore help before I poof?
don has been riding the moto guzzi everywhere whenever he can. he's trying to clock up the kilometers so that it can have it's first service ASAP.
Why does he want it serviced ASAP?
before the wet, cold weather sets in, if we are ever going to have any.
aww, that makes sense.
i'm not particularly fond of the thought of him out on th4 monster in the rain.
Hiiii everyone!
Yeah, and after a certain age, it is really hard to control them LOL... I stopped trying with mine.
Hi neniac
Well, all, I am off til the flip!
hi neniac
night Dee, take care
sweet sleep Dee
<3
*giggle* the first time he rode it for any distance, he came in with eyes like saucers. apparently you only have to touch the throttle ever so lightly, and it ta4s off like hmph off a shovel
night, dee!
g'day nenia
sweet dreams, dee
You, too, ((pug))). Night ((flosey)), (rose), (nenia))
Rose, glad to see your back is feeling better
pugs, the pool was magic.
and how's your back? i did email you, hun. did you see it?
so happy it worked for you---see now, that hot tub would be so great to have
no argument from me on th4 one.
yes I did Rose---It is okay until the pain meds start wearing off--I been taking them every 6 hrs and using the heat when I can
good girl. i'm proud of for taking care of yourself. well done. i just wish i could work out why it is playing up, though.
yeah me too
maybe your doctor will make some sense of it.
I played alot with the kids yesterday and I didnt notice it hurting much then
but then I was to busy to really notice-lol
that was probably as good for you as it was for the kids pugs
lol, probably
probably was Flosey
when you have to return to work Rose
tomorrow, pugs, tuesday, wednesday and thursday
three days in a row? Is this the first time
think you'll be very glad to see Day 4, rose
i did 3 days last week, and was okay. and, yes, flosey, day 4 was ever so nice when it got here
Iam looking forward to returning to work after this long week-end myself
good for you pugs
and i was doing full duties, taking on an unconscious patient of my own.
wow, that's pretty heavy stuff, I'd think
oh wow Rose! Bet you were over joyed on doing that
it was good to get back to doing my own 'thing'...lol
it's more about getting my body back into the routine of get up, shower, dress, get in the car, drive through traffic, and th4 work.
you will get into it soon, no doubt
and on my second day, i realised, hey i'm happy about going to work. it was a big step forward.
its makes a huge different when you like doing your work/job
I bet its hard on Don being there all by himself--lol
Rose, my fast has now dropped to 118---see I just might get off of th5 pills by the time I return to the doc!
is that your current weight now pugs? how tall are uou
no flosey, thats my sugar numbers on a fast
oh
Iam about 5'3 and about 150lbs
I avoid scales, I have a tummy with a muffin top
I dont use them either nor look in a mirror if I dont have to-lol
sorry, i was having a problem with my security. had to update it, and run a scan.
now you are way behind--lol
pugs, i am sure don enjoys his time alone. but it means i NEVER get any time alone, except when i'm asleep. he comes everywhere with me, and it is starting to pall a little.
think I'll stop with 49 to go, can catch them in the morning, I hope
lol Rose---such a terrible thing
night Flosey and take care
goodnight all
sweet dreams, flosey
you will have to lock yourself up in the bathroom Rose
thanks pugs and rose
tets
sorry
contemplating it...but if i fall asleep in the bath, he'll probably break the door down when i don't answer him...lol
Gooooooood morning fellow Babblers xx
helloooooo worzel
well is there something coming up to send him on a trip with his guy friends?
hugs and Hi Wor and send to Di too
hello Mummy!!! lol am in a daft mood today!
whys that Wor
Hey there pug hunni ((hugs)) we are both fine Di is still asleep lazy monkey! xx
oh, dear. run everybody, worzel is more daft than usual
oh i don't need an excuse to be in a daft mood - i just woke up that way teehee
its MONDAY
you were born th4 way....lol
its a bank holiday here in the UK and - AND - I'm gonna be baking a cinnamon cake shortly! yummy!
for Di?
with lemon icing on top, and jam in the middle?
no she doesn't eat cake - and she doesnt much like cinnamon. No jam or icing just a hint of vanilla to go with the cinnamon. And when it's ready and almost cool and nice cup of strong black coffee!
hot lemon sauce---yum
what happen to the diet? lol
the icing and jam was how my mum used to make it. it's divine.
never had it that way Rose
ahh, see, that's where I'm clever - i have reduced the calories and am using 99percent fat free butter, no salt and artificial sugar!
good for you! Wor
Mind you it's not exactly a diet. We've done a lifestyle change thingy. As you know, diets don't work anyway so we've decided to cut out certain things that we eat on a regular basis that we don't need to eat and will keep doing so and once we both look like brad pitt and angelina jolie we'll know it's worked pmsl
and no - it won't be ME that looks like angelina
you idiot, worzel...roflol
*teehee* mum
I think thats the best way too, Wor. When you guys do --you must post new photos--lol
gave up smoking this morning too!
oh wow! good luck, friend
yay, wor. well done you! and the best piece of advice i can give you?
don't take it up again?
never give up on giving up!
wor, i'm a realist. if you fall, pick yourself up again, and try, try, try again.
i have tried so many times to give up. I've come to the conclusion that with me it's the physical part of holding the ciggy that is the nub of the addiction. I have got an electric ciggie which i am assured is safe and almost health friendly so I'll see how it goes! ty for your support and i won't mention it again for a while until i see how it goes - just in case . . .
it will be 4 years next august for me.
well done mum - i bet you feel a whole heap better - well, you know what i mean hun x
trying is a trying Wor and thats a big plus
the good part, i have no feelings either way on smoking.
Never smoked in the house - always went to the back kitchen door - even when it was peeing down - the dog used to follow me every time - he's gonna get bored lmao!!!
Did you both finish yesterday's grid? I was on it on and off all day and gave up just over 1/2 way through - worst grid I've ever played!
I didnt--I wasent home
i did. it wasn't to bad. once you got the weird words, it was okay.
i'm certainly not in dart's, ruru's or volleymomdee's league. but i am becoming better at the game.
Saturday's was so easy, too. Lots of people were on here complaining it was difficult yet I shot through it in about 3 hours.
Oh god some of those guys and gals stun me - clearing the flippin grid in sometimes less than an hour! Big kudos to them though!
i just love the thrill of finding all the words for a tile. i get really chuffed when i grey a tile without resorting to lickety.
ooo rood word (blushes and scrubs eyeballs with carbolic soap . . .)
there's also vash, oh, heaps of others. they are so good at it, and so fast.
Sprite is pretty quick too alot of the time
which one? what did i say?
Hi all :)
non mum i found a rood word lmao
hugs and hi Liz
Good morning liz x
g'day liz. have you had a lovely day?
Yes - usual stuff. Beautiful weather, long beach walk and gym :)
And you?
oh, worzel, lol. just wait until the grid has the naughty word for female anatomy. i ha4 it when th4's there, and yet i have to type it, or not finish the grid.
How are your backs, Rose and pugs?
hydro was great on my back. worked with weights around ankle too.
Great :)
Iam okay until the pain killers start wearing off
Nag time! Will you see the doc?
Iam calling tomorrow after work
End of nag!
NP-lol
That's for giving me that smile earlier today.
*giggle* liz, you give it to her....lol
YW
phantom sheath
Better than to you, eh?
mind you, in the old days sheath was something of a rude word lol
now Rose, I am calling the doctor tomorrow
moi?? why would you do th4, liz?
Lol!
you should try cleaning a horses sheath-lol
i'm never naughty....roflol
pugs I didn't know horses needed condoms?
don't give him ideas, pugs...
Glad that's not true, Rose.
too late mum lmao
too late....*sigh*
they dont Wor-lol but you have to clean up there
Rose carries a halo--lol
th4s why i keep falling over, it's around my ankles...
i don't think i want to ask about cleaning horse sheaths if I'm honest. Well, I DO want to ask, but I'm not gonna . . .
Lol
well Wor, if not, dirt gathers there and can cause infections---you can go clear up to your elbow in it-lol
I think Ms Pugs has an even ruder version of sheath than us brits - our use of the word sheath was for condoms! Don't know that I like the idea of going elbow deep in . . . no, not going there lol
aww worzel, you're just jealous...
there is some truth to the saying hung like a horse.
not so much jealous as disturbed by the fact that the conversation only ever turns risque when I turn up. Says a lot for me really lol
well its alot cheaper then haing a vet out to do it
mind you, imagine if all men were literally hung like a horse - i think that would soon put an end to the human race!
oh, worzel if you only knew. ruru is a master of punning and innuendos
you were the one to bring up the word---were you not Wor
me sister always said "Bit like a hand grenade - great fun to play with until it goes off in your hand"
yes, pugs, I brought up the conversation (hangs head in shame, stands in corner sucking thumb quietly)
*snorts into drink* cough, cough, splutter...worzel!! down boy!!
Loving this convo!
Yes, maybe I shouldn't have typed my sister's comment. I do apologise everybody
It was funny!
Some of the lurkers might not have thought so, so I sincerely apologise
And for those who enjoyed the comment - teehee!!!
it was funny, liz...and worzel, you pay no never mind to me, mate. just blurt it all out.
at the moment we are all adults here. but sometimes, during school vacation in the US of A, children join in. we try to be a little more discreet th4
Hadn't thought about that.
That's good - besides, I'm always on my best behaviour . . .
wor, you will find th4 sometimes they are annoying, at which point someone will say the word 'troll'.
I don't mind trolls to be honest - it actually gives me something extra to smile about - the fact that they need to get a life and enjoy the humour that's being freely distributed!
I had my suspicions about one "child". Can't remember the name but didn't ring true at all.
something 12 Liz?
oh, yeah. who was it?
Yes - he claimed to be from an observant Jewish family and it didn't ring true.
oh, oh, the 'kid' who said he was jewish, and kept writing the most appalling spelling.
thats it Rose
Yes, Ru doubted him too.
he hasent been on in a long time
I guess, for the person doing it, it's a bit of fun for their head, but to be honest it wouldn't be the kind of thing that would get me off. Mind you, I've had my share of accusations lately lol
well this kid had a really foul mouth on him.
I don't mind bad spelling but as an ex teacher, can sort of spot when it's not right.
blimey, you should live round here - they've ALL got foul mouths on 'em!
yeah, it was very staged.
for all the good it does over here, but foul language in a public place is a fineable offence.
wish that were so in the UK. I was near a newsagents the other day and this lad - about 8 or 9 - asked me if I'd give him one of my ciggies. I took one out and held it way up high and jokingly said "when you can reach it you can have it" which made the woman across the road laugh so much she dropped her shopping. And do you know what he said? "P off then you fat f . . . c . . . " - and he was about 8 or 9!!!
Hi all - I remember the "kid" you were talking about and I also never thought that person was a child.
Morning Dianne x
Sad, isn't it. Hi, Dianne.
hey ya dianne. how are you today?
I am hot - it is in the mid 90's (F) here and the humidity is nearly the same.
Hi Dianne
I have to say, though, the worst behaviour in this city is spitting. I have lived in some awful places in my life (Liverpool not being awful, of course) but never known spitting like it. It's like some kind of ritual. I would make that illegal. Just wish I could push them down to the floor and make them clean it up the same way it came out. It really is the vilest public behaviour around here and really gets on my goat
Agree with you, worz.
Spitting is illegal here. The fine is nearly US $200.00.
oh, please don't start me on spitting. and our young teens walk around bare foot on the same paths and roads. yuck!!
There's so much for Liverpool to be proud of - and continue to be proud of - but spitting and also people allowing their dogs to foul all over the place and just keep walking. I have, once or twice, challenged the owners only to be told where to go of course
People are really good here about cleaning up after dogs and the council provides bags by the dog beaches.
There should be 75 % more women in Liverpool - purely because 99 % of the filthy behaviour comes from men!!
over here, in my town, dog owners are obliged to carry plastic bags or such like, and pick up the doggy tulips. again it's a fineable offence not to clean up after your dog.
Mum trouble is we have laws saying we can be fined up to £500 for not cleaning it up. There are something in the region of 350,000 people in this city with 6 registered dog patrol personnel. The damned Tories keep cutting back - we once had 25 dog patrollers. But the problem is the owners are such shitebags that if the dog patroller stopped them they would go home and take it out on the dogs! I hate humans sometimes
If you want to see something really funny google Liam Neeson's "Lifes Too Short" sketch.
Anyways, this cake isn't gonna cook itself, so I'm away to the kitchen to get a strong black coffee and make some general cinnamon type smells! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day/eventide, wherever you may celebrate it xx
Here where I live the smell of hog, cattle and horse mamure is part of the aroma of fresh country air-lol
Have a lovely day, worz :)
you too Liz & take care xx
enjoy your day, worzel, dear. and save me a piece.
bye Wor- happy baking
I shall send it over by carrier pigeon Mum lol xx
take care pugs and look after yourself x
*poof*
Hugs and Love friends--going to get ready for my last morning of coffee with Carol down at the campgrounds. Wish all a good day or evening---:)
Have a lovely day pugs. Hugs
hope your day is kind to you, dearest pugs. please say hi to carol from me.xoxox

hi Rose and Liz *hugs* Hi rolin :)

and enjoy dinner, Liz
P said we've got the right jelly.
cool.. enjoy dinner
Artificial sweetener not sugar.
you all know that I don't even KNOW 16 K words, right?
waahhh. i just got the most enormous zit. just below my left nostril. i read some where that stress brings them on in people my age.
aw poor rose :(
sprite..english is my first language... and i think im in the same boat
thanks rolin, you make me feel a little better about them :)
sprite, most of them you do know. yes if you need a hand. poor baby! k's are the pits.
*yell*
ok, thanks rose :)
but....having said th4. i know my spritey, and she's a winner.
sprite is a stubborn pitbull guppie who should know better
sprite, pugs has been and gone. she's off to visit with carol again.
am really sorry to have missed her, but happy that she will have another good day with carol.
and how is my Rose today?
okay, sprite explain this if you can....taking my strong pain med. stops the muscle spasms in my back. physio thinks th4 they ( the back spasms) stem from the knee. i am so confused. and, yes, i know it is all connected, but, but, but...
and how is my sprite today?
oh, dear...lolol...snap darling
most simple explanation that comes to mind is A. your back is not your strongest point and B. when the knee bothers you, you stand/sit/walk differently and you tense up.
ahhhh!!
th4 makes sense...oh, dear, sprite making sense...do i run for the hills, or stay and cower?
had another bad start of the day today. Again bowel issues, thank god not in the bed but as soon as I got out. Another round of cleaning and showering and laundry before medication sets in, blech.
roflolllll rose :) Run for cover while you can!
you poor darling. i have the same issues. usually at 4am. aagghh!!
oh god, it sucks, doesn't it!
Ks killed. *smug*
yup. can't wait until i consult with the specialist. does your doctor have any like-minded specialist for you?
yay, sprite. you rock girl.
must confess I haven't called yet. Too tired after the whole ordeal. Sitting here playing babble is about it for now
am gonna be really naughty tonight. (lol, no, sprite) don came home from shopping with chocolate eclairs, filled with fresh cream.
grin, not my thing, but lovely that you can indulge for once :) Eat them off Don. Doubly naughty.
sprite, in your own time, dear. i am not gonna push as i know how it feels.
thanks darling. Oh, Tim's birthday celebration went wonderfully! He loved his presents and the sentiment behind them. It was a full success.
yay, sprite. glad tim enjoyed his special day. good for you.
we had a newspaper from the day he was born for him. And he LOVED it! Made pictures from it to put on his facebook page even. And the wipe-out outing was a success, and the music pillow, and the watch.
you are amazing, sprite. it isn't easy to predict what a teen wants.
no, it isn't. I am so grateful we managed to make him happy allover.
hopefully the happy feeling will last a while, and th4 he will appreciate how much thought you put into his birthday celebrations.
he said he was giving us great grades for raising him and th4 he wouldn't have become who he is now without us.
good evening ladies
good on him!! and kudos to you both. once the hormones settle, i think you will find a very lovable young adult under tim's skin.
good to see things with tim seem to be getting better
aaahhh!!! OMG!!! IT'S A JOSO!!! SIRE....YOUR HAREM AWAITS YOU!!! ( and yes, i did mean to shout)
oh it's so nice to be appreciated
so how is life down under, is the knee progressing nicely, DH is still a treat?
sorry, telephone. Back now. Hello joso! Sooo glad to see you, was worried. How are you?
knee is doing well...FM however has taken on a life of it's own. :-(
I'm fine sprite, sorry to worry you, I'm just more tied into the 9-5 world so up late very rarely
*smothers joso with hugs and kisses* how are you? how's the job? what are you doing? gosh, we have missed you.
all good then, joso! Am glad you are fine. How do you like the job so far?
no job as yet, training to become a 911 operator
joso, DH has bought us a moto guzzi. it has so much grunt....it's unbelievable.
oh wow! Very important work. Nice, joso.
oh....i have been misled th4. and i am impressed joso. a 911 operator.
I miss the 2 of you very much as well, and the little dog too
don't got the job yet, but am hopeful
will let her know you were here. she will be so pleased.
*hugs joso* But yes, sleep is very important. I totally understand.
you will get the job, mate. i can feel it in my water...lol
oh you will, I just know it, joso. You are right for that kind of work. You can keep your head when all about you etc.
*grins* snap, rose!
for goodness sake, sprite. sleep is so over-rated...
what is moto guzzi, how can it be grunt, is fm family, when did you start speaking in toungs?
how is your english book coming sprite?
lolol. moto guzzi, an italian motorcycle. grunt, the way it responds to the throttle. FM, fibromyalgia.
not, at the moment, joso. I got sidetracked. But thanks for reminding me. I should put the quick link on my desktop again.
oh, so sorry about
jso, google it. we have the 2013 california. just waiting for don to get used to handling it.
FM
rose, lol @ sleep. I am more in the department of what I read on FB once: "Dear sleep, I am so so sorry I didn't want you when I was younger. I know better now. Please come back."
roflol, sprite. absolutely.
joso, also google ' central sensitivity syndrome * you will understand what sprite and i are going through.
FM = very bad habit of being in pain, sweating and nauseated when overdoing stuff. grunt = powahhhh moto guzzi = speedy italians with a loud mouth
got it rose, random pain, cronic, sort of treatable
yeah, joso. and i have found a doctor(long time friend) who has developed a treatment for it. not a cure, but it will allow me to live a 'normal' life.
glad to hear that, what I read didn't seem so positive about the treatments
can't wait to hear what treatment he has developed. We will know in a month or so, right rose?
will email you, once i have had my first consult. let you know. the condition has no cure.
yes, darling sprite. and hopefully you also will benefit.
at this point, we will gladly settle for treatments.
you are certainly having a rough time rose, was your body assembled by GM?
roflolllll!
roflol, ruby. and good morning my dear friend.
aagghh, it is joso...my eyes are playing tricks on me
ruby? Where did you see ruby?
ah ok, lolol
wishful thinking, sprite
nothing wrong with that
so the eyes get recalled next
not th4 i want joso to disappear.
lol, joso...
and now dinner is here. if you are still here i will catch you both later. xoxox
rose, my son went away for the weekend with the elder sister of a friend of his (she is 22). She had vouchers for a wellness weekend with hotel and no friends who could come with her on such short notice, and Tim could and did. They had a lovely, lazy time and I met her yesterday and I think she is positively awesome. She liked us right back too. A click from the go, so nice.
I Am up late tonight because I've downloaded all the columbo episodes and got mesmerized into watching them late, there are 69 episodes
bye rose, have a lovely dinner. And behave until dessert, or things will become messy
ohhhh joso! I simply LOVE columbo. With Peter Falk, right?
eat hearty rose
yes, brilliant series
it really is. I can watch and rewatch them endlessly. I love the episode that plays in Mensa.
I just watched one where he drives this poor little housekeeper batty
lol he is so good at that.
wanders around the mansion trailing cigar ash and filth and she is a neat freek, shorts out the power so her tv shows purple people, tries to fix it for her and breaks off a knob, ends by arresting the last 2 members of the family she has served all her life, the 2 she raised from boys
oh yes, I remember that one!
about half way through he is afraid to encounter her, such a hoot
he is so... what is the word... don't know must look it up
or when his wife gives him a new rain coat and he keeps trying to loose it
disarming, is the word I meant. He always acts like he can't count till ten. But he is smarter than them all.
persistent, grubby, observant, funny
I also like how sometimes he really feels for the criminal and understands him/her. And other times he really dislikes them and their reasons.
hides his light under a bushel
yes disarming works too
all those :)
and all those times he almost leaves and then turns back to ask one last question... when they think they weathered another encounter with him.
I love it when he talks to someone who is being framed and tells them not to worry, I know you didn't do it, then tells the killer the same thing latter.
lol yes indeed
the killers reaction is allways so funny
he always plays their weaknesses so very well. It is true psychological warfare what he does.
fireflies. Apart from the Ks this was a fun grid.
Hi can anyone tell me where the full link to lickety's site is? Trying to tell a friend and can't find the link to download the zipped file
I also like that there is lots of story, no car chases, desperate fights on the edge of a cliff, gunfights, kung foo battles, etc. All those can be exciting but at 50+ I've seen that
it is in my profile, Jackanory
in my profile
indeed, joso. It is all about psychology. Love it.
Thanks Sprite and congrats on your flies!
thanks Jack :)
goodnight sprite, catch you later
night joso, wish I could join you watching Columbo. *hugs* and good luck with the training.
back, and WTG SPRITE!!!
okayyyyy...and they all faded away...lol. enjoy the grid babblers...it's so much fun. xoxox
hi rose
hello, late start today
Hi Ruby, I think Rose gave up
{{rosie?}}, {{Jackanory}}
{{joso?}}
How are you Ruby?
enjoying spring and my wonderful arden
garden*
we've been having a little rain most days, so it's very lush and filled with flowers
I am very lucky
Sounds lovely, we're approaching winter here
How cold does it get there? Is your garden filled with exotic flowers?
Sunny day today but cold with snow on the hills for the first time this autumn
It gets down to just below freezing at night during about 4 months
Not as exotic as further north in NZ but we grow lemons, mandarins, avocados
And does it get very hot, like Australia, or is it more temperate?
More temperate than Oz but can get into low 30s but rarely
sounds similar to our climate
There is snow on the mountains around us, but the winters have gotten warmer and this past one, we had very little snow and no hard frost
We seem to have more extremes, definitely more rain and more in one downpour so our garden floods several times a year when it used not to at all
We get a drought in summer now too though. No rain for about 9 weeks early this year followed by a flood
It is frightening to watch the weather changing. Although our warm winter was good for the plants, not having a hard frost made this a prime tick season.
I check the dogs daily and apply that awful insecticide to them
Ugh, they must be very uncomfortable for the dogs
The ticks are dangerous as they can carry both Lye disease and toxoplasmosis, both of which can be fatal or leave the dog crippled
lyme*
I had a horse that got lice in his mane once but haven't had tick issues, Do cats get them?
Yes. My friend's cat escaped one night and came back two days later with more than 20 ticks which was pretty gross. I can deal with one at a time, but more would give me the willies
Can you burn them off or is that an urban myth?
not a good think to do because they can release their toxins. Better to buy a little plastic "tick hook" or grab them with you finger nails
thing* My typing is sh**
too fast!
I haven't seen any on my cat but she does get fleas. She has had skin problems in the past so I try not to use chemicals on her, She just eats them!
My Rufie gets skins problems and has since he was a pup. He bites himself and occasionally gets open sores. Sometimes I put him on a course of cortisone, but I don't like to do it
Mostly, both dogs have magnificent co***. The baby has so much fur that she looks like she's carrying another animal on her back
Nina was on steroids for years because her skin would begin to itch and she'd scratch until she bled.It started on her face and gradually moved down her body to her bottom then she grew out of it. Really weird
what a lovely name, same as my grandmother
our dogs have been Rosie, Rufus, Cleo (black one, actually named Cleopatra), Ruby, Max, Ruffino and Rafaella. All the "R" ones have been reddish
I realy like it. My grandmother's were Martha and Meg
We've had bad luck with early deaths for both black ones and for Rosie, so now we always have two
I think black chows are too inbred
It's hard losing an animal at the best of times but hardest when its an 'only'. Nina's 14 and I dread her demise
Do chows have nice temperaments? I think lots of purebred animals have issues due to the limited gene pool
Good morning
Ruby lived to be 10 (good for a chow) and had a carefuly treated heart condition. She died peacefully in her sleep, next to my bed. It was sad, but not as bad as the others
how do I look at yesterday's words?
Hello Sukee
Hi Sukee
Going to get one more and call it a night. Hard grid?
99 words and ready for a nap
They're all hard for me

My son and his wife will not have children (boo hiss) and husband has 5 grands, 3 great-grands, 3 children and no interest in any of them!

I think he's losing interet all around....poor man
+mother

nah, bojazz. some from your example set. too. not to lessen the missus at all. but it takes two to show the next generation the right way to behave.
<== loves Charleston
it must be frustrating ruby - my sister is in the same boat, two kids, no grands in sight
They are so far away, that I wouldn't see them much anyway. And there's nothing I can do about it, so no agonizing for me

good morning all

hi peri
not sure that would be advisable!
egg layer hmm
hi peri
fan, lives on a farm
found an ro7 but not an ro8
plural of ro7
begins with an H?
ro7 and 8 are tiny red flowers
peri , plural
must be another ro7 then
I think Peri has the other ro7

molly that he 8 you just clued is a plural right?
That is why I said mistaken for Pagans. Pagans are not Godless.

My son, the comedian: Mom's cleaning the kitchen so it can get all dirty again in a few hours. : D

Thinking of you Peri. I have to do that "girls on a budget" pedicure thing later.

i wonder how many people at flip last night found the an8 rather quickly?
hi ruru
And how is the godless city?
Fun fun fun
I dont have the an
Ancient relative

morning ru - how's NY?
Yes, what is on today's episode of Ruru does The Big Apple?
Great.. i had a great time..packed in a ton of stuff
Flying back to SF is the agenda
Ah, you're all done.
Yes..had a blast at Book of Mormon
and one of the best food/wine dinners ever!
Yeah.doren..hi
hi dorens
Thank you for everything
Just finished trying to describe it to a friend, and it was indescribable… no thank YOU for everything. and hi everyone else
Last time I went online for tix to Book of Mormon the cheap seats were $300. Im waiting for them to come down. Hope it will be in my lifetime.
♪Memories♫ light the corners of my taste buds♫
Lol molly
Ahahahaha....cheap seats: 300$...ahahaha!
Tickets were 400 i think
Yes, Molly, dear
Where did you have this fantastic meal?
our seats were perfect! row e… couldn't have been better… and the funniest show I've ever seen
NOMAD Hotel
NoMad… which the NYTimes gave three stars and I don't know why it didn't get four
Then the prices have come down.
Thanks, ruru
Are they doing North of Madison now? :)
No annie 400 each
I know, ruru.
Yes i guess they are
They were $300 each in the balcony
Last trip they were higher..i said nah
IM going to go on Ticketmaster later
It was so much fun..very funny
North of Madison Square Park… 28th and Broadway
Especially Christ's lines
I could imagine.
They are getting crazy with names in NY. I live on Ocean Parkway corner of Neptune. Soon it will be NEPOC.
We did have a great dinner
and good company
I'm glad I got to see the few Broadway runs that I did before ticket prices got so insane.
It is a lot..that is for sure
Spamalot almost put me in the hospital because of laughing/ I thought my sides would split.
I was also fortunate enough to work for people who had box seats at The Kennedy Center. Occasionally they would share those with employees. I saw some great shows that year.
When my friend bought our tickets....he said...$1,200..i just want tickets..i am not trying to buy the theater
molly one of my favorite places ..The Kennedy Center
have to leave for a while, be back later
Bye annie
The Kennedy Center is a beautiful place. We are lucky to have such a great venue for dance and theater here.
molly that place takes my breath away i havent been there in years.
The best tickets I ever had (and they were a gift) were tenth row for A Chorus Line. I could see the dance marks on the stage.
Molly how awesome! Try to get tickets to something at Ford's theater if you havent been there yet another beautiful theater in Washington DC
I've been to Ford's Theater several times. I saw the original run of Godspell there twice.
I love Godspell
most I ever spent for tickets was see Pavarotti at the Met in Tosca for one of his last performances. Front row orchestra, extreme right side for $140 a pop. We were so far to the side that we could see Pavarotti sitting on a stool in the wings waiting to make his entrance
chj that is wonderful
Wow, it must have been amazing to see Pavarotti in person.
i would have loved that and to see Domingo in person too
Yes, he was special. I've seen Domingo dozens of times at the Met but Pavarotti only that once.
chj i am so envious
And as far as prices, I usually opt for the Balcony side boxes which can go for as little as $25
better then a side view by the exit doors
Yes, but I do love sitting front row in the orchestra section so I can look down into the orchestra pit.
It is always a treat for me when The Three Tenors are on PBS. The vocal power of those three men is unbelievable.
kinda fun seeing the orchestra i love to watch orchestra conductors
Happy Memorial Day, Fellow Americans! And happy Monday to everyone else, of course.
Hey judi
Ah, someone is awake!
good morning everyone, it's Victoria Day up here in Canada
Yep up and moving
Hiya, Flosey!
hi Judi
Isn't that a National Holiday there Flosey?
I think all of North America has the day off! Party! *bounces beach ball across the border*
yes it is Molly, as kids we use to sing a silly little rhyme - it's the 24th of May, the Queen's birthday, if we don't get a holiday we'll all run away
Okay, I'm confused. I thought maybe it was last Monday. Crosshair said he was going to school today.
oh, sorry yes, it was celebrated last Monday - we went to Vancouver for the weekend - just glanced at the calendar - retired and holidays tend to lose a bit of meaning
lol. Flosey does the time warp!
I'm just up, not totally awake yet - need another jolt of coffee
lol, there's another song about 'time means nothing to me, I wait and then...................
Okay, whew. I thought it was last Monday but I'm never sure I'm right about anything. : D
Off to brunch! *POOF*

:)
ty molly got it
sa6 - Japanese - enlightenment
Arigato
not familiar with that word, Molly
It means thank you in Japanese
I thought if you knew the term for enlightenment, you would know that : D
interesting, thanks
no, had to look the sa6 word up - someone had asked for it (I think)
whew, finally finished the T words and that's FW
Fabulous Flosey!
ty Saan, those T's almost did me in
I have 6 left
of Ts that is
So, complained about people playing cricket on the tennis court/basketball court in my building because they are out every single night and screaming at each other. They take over the whole area so no one can play basketball or tennis. I can't sit out on my balcony, I can't always hear my TV. I complained, was told the hours and that if I had a problem to talk to staff on duty. I have been debating leaving this building, this decided it for me. I have lived here for almost 10 years
i have 10 ts left
So flosey, I hope you really enjoy the rest of your day!
I could take it once in a while, but it's every single night.
just found se 6/7
ah, Sukee, unfortunate to have to move due to inconsiderate people
Sorry, had to vent :)
x2
thanks Saan, will do - starting with breakfast
sounds illegal to me
but just a 2nd se 7
That is just rude Saan.
I should add, they also broke one of the tennis nets and have wrapped the other one up.
Sorry, Sukee.
that is indeed rude behaviour
oh, the "entitled"….
I have no patience with people who think the entire world revolves around them.
they should at least put things back where they should be
ditto Molly
ditto here too
i so agree with that
I don't get it, 3 years ago they told people it was for basketball and tennis only. I guess they have changed their minds.
sukee, what do the other people in your building think?
The thing is, there is a park a block away where they could play.
I haven't mentioned it to anyone yet.
that just makes it more infuriating
is there a manager?
Sadly, people who live in apartments and condominiums are rarely considerate about the noise they inflict on others.
why not mention it to management
I did mention it to management, they are they ones that told me the times it was open
69 left will be back
Not to mention I have an upstairs neighbor who I am convinced owns a pet elephant :)
shirking responsibilities it seems
that was not a good response
Oh, you can bet if there were kids skateboarding there they would do something.
Yes, Molly. That is why they posted the rules a couple of years ago, but I guess they have changed it.
What I can't believe is that there is staff on duty allowing this.
I have complained about loud music in the past they told me to call the police.
Not to give you the idea I am always complaining :)
call them!
not at all Sukee, you have your rights too
and anyway cricket is supposes to be played on grass
Exactly. I keep praying the ball will bounce out and hit one of the cars parked in the houses across and do some damage :)
Moving would be the best option
I bet that would make them change their minds.
then the police would have to be involved
Anyway, I am planning on moving in the next 3 years. I am applying for a community. Have to be 60 but you can apply early.
that noise would drive me crazy. Which is why I live in the country
ditto, Saan
The cat also likes to sleep out on the balcony but as soon as they start yelling he runs in.
we have it good don't we flosey?
we lived on a street (back in ON) with lots of kids (4 were ours) and we never had a complaint
Unless it's insanely loud, the police will only enforce disturbing the peace between certain hours.
we sure do, Saan
That is true Molly.
Anyway life goes on. At least now when it rains I am not upset :)
hello all....can i get STATS for the 9 please?
ae8/45 and 9/60
I can handle kids yelling and playing, not so much adult men who obviously have nothing else to worry about after dinner but play cricket until dark.
ty
true sukee
arbitration? ie they get two nights?
yw pen
surprisingly easy to find once i had the stats...
good thought, Saan - would be lovely if it could work
Anyway, thanks for listening. I have to go
but the rest of the building would have to use the tennis courts so it's obvious they were driving people away
bye sukee
and Good Luck!
ae words seem to refuse to embed themselves in my recognition files
It's like my brain has no tolerance for such a ridiculous beginning to a word
same here....
agree, Molly
now off to breakfast
bb at flip
bye flosey

hello, 235 to go, lol
Hi Jane. No Memorial Day Harp Hoedown for you? : D
Thanks. I'm in between hoedowns. Just got back from a mini-trip to Wisdom. (Look it up.) Heading to a birthday party, and later another party, in a while.
left column gray!
We could probably all use a trip to wisdom.
Turn out there's no Internet in Wisdom.
I think that means something.
no kidding! I had no idea how often I ran to the computer to look something up.
nbt nbs, off to enjoy the outdoors
Hi Peri, what are you up to today?
Hmm, Peri must have checked in to let us know the status of her left column. ΘΘ
hello all
just in the change icon
seems it didn't take!
same thing happened last time, I'll check back later
hi, all. nbt/nbs

can I have a clue for 5/12 - second one
never mind, got it
Would have been hard to clue anyway...or did you just want a random 5/12
oops, sorry :)
It was ce 5/12
: D
Can I ask if the ce 6/21 is related?
It has the same first 4 letters
ty
Got it.
I see you are a Bee Gees fan.
I am
Love their earlier stuff.
I went to infant school with Robin Gibb
Oh, how cool :)
Sukee, have you seen the Saturday Night Live spoof on the Bee Gees with Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake? It's really funny.
I haven't, should check it out.
i was only small so it didn't mean much to me. It was just before they emigrated to Australia.
I saw a bit on TV yesterday about Barry Gibb and how he is tourning again.
this is my second puzzle. i joined yesterday. im not sure how to play exactly. i know make words out of the letters in the grid. but what do the tile stats mean and the word stats???
If you Google search "fallon timberlake bee gees" it's the first video that comes up
OMG I totally LOVE the Bee Gees
tile stats: T 12/12 there are twelve words that start with that T. Word stats tell you how many 4, 5, 6,7 etc words there are.
Wish I could have seen them in concert when all of them were still alive!
The title stats are how many words you can make out of the grid and where they start , you will see it corresponds to the grid.
Me too, never saw them in concert.
my other claim to fame is that my mother had me in the same hospital as his mother had Davy Jones of Monkee fame. I don't remember that either. lol
Also, read the HELP section by clicking HELP at the top of the page.
lol Jaxx
Thanks sukee and MollyL :)
My only claim to fame is that I lived in the same Scottish town as Craig Ferguson in the 60s.
Oh, and actually one of the guys from Wings also grew up there.
Wings, the band :)
I also swallowed my earring at a meal before we went to see Roy Orbison and the Small Faces in Sheffield. That I do remember and I did feel a fool.
Jeepers Jaxx. Continue, please. How did you manage to swallow your earring, and...... Did you ever see it again(!)?
soodle!!!!!
:D
Do we really want to hear about her "finding" it? : O
Hey everybody, and welcome, Lindeelu.
I'm just curious. :-)
I just saw Craig Ferguson last week in Westbury, NY
This grid is work today
How was he?
Which Wings member did you grow up with?
Well you know, there is only one way to "find" an earring you have swallowed, and it isn't pretty.
Jimmy McCulloch... and his brother. We all had crushes on them when I was in primary school :)
I had two very long dangly black earrings when we went into the restaurant. We ordered curry and sat and ate them while chatting away. As we got up to leave I noticed one was gone. We searched high and low with no result. We decided I must have mistaken it for a sultana and eaten it. Molly, you will be glad to hear that I never looked for it.
I'm no scientist, Molls, but I'm familiar with the basics..
My sister was actually a friend of his at the time.
I know an old lady, who swallowed and earring...I don't know why, she swallowed the earring...I guess she's tearing
I a was a scientist and searching for it was never an option
I love it here, you all make me laugh. Been spending too much time on Facebook lately.

It is hebrew, gramma
*Wonders if Gramma doesn't have white things in her mouth anymore*
I did fine with most of the starting letters but that C in the bottom right is really baffling

Obvious when you are told!
Pen is doing that all things at once thing again. Be nice to her or you will get a knitting needle somewhere you don't want one.
That won't do her computer any good. lol
fnurt, have you made any progress?
:o}
Pen is omnipresent
not knitting right now....just watching TV, snacking and doing a paper and pencil crossword puzzle...
You could do damage with that pencil

doing this crossword...wondering if anyone will be doing them in a few years....some of the answers are so dated (e.g., Hope Lange, where Sonja Henie was born)...

hey crossy. just got home and saw you finished the assignment. I am sure it will go well
DONE
Congrats Harry!
YAY Harry
tyvm, bugsaw. It is 1900 words and due tomorrow or i would toss it on your desk for a peer review, but i think this one is nice and tight
ty good night :)
I don't think you really need an editor but it was nice to be asked and I like learning new stuff
peer editing is worth its weight in gold. After staring at a paper for 14 hours, it gets to the point where you do not see your own errors sometimes
clue for the an8, anybody?
old relative...before your time
A relative of old
an8.com
