Purchased a house last summer, but the central air doesn't work and we're doing without it for now. Do have a couple window units that we'll get in this weekend. Also have some ceiling fans, several floor fans and a whole house/attic fan and plenty of mature shade trees, so really, I don't have it bad - especially considering my previous situation

Pugs asked me if I was male or female, and I asked s/he what s/he thought I was. Pugs and ru guessed I'm male, and I said they were wrong. Ru speculated that I might be transsexual or canine. I had almost said I was canine, but I think I ended up being a female human. I think.
So I've heard, ru. I may try to give it another go someday, I dunno.

And he promised me we work something out, he will ask me to help and in time I might even become part of the after-meeting in which they work out everything that happened during the day :D

I can relate to that, nenia. Have been through hell and back as a child and teenager. But that one guy pulled me through. Too bad he abused me later on, sigh, but at least I survived puberty.

sprite, the slow release med i take for pain relief has been withdrawn from the market over here. in it's place is the same drug with naloxone added, to reduce constipation. and with IBS you get?

lol yes, depends or tena lady. There are solutions for diarrhoea. Not so much for constipation. A friend of mine had trouble in that area and then some scarring in her belly insides caused her bowels to block completely. You don't want to know where her sh*t came out of.

rose, you could try to gently rub his feet. I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes it helps with migraine.
Don't think I am crazy but do you have any travel sickness pills handy? get him to take a dose and then about 20 mins later, give him a soluble aspirin. That will relieve the vomiting
Mum this is going to sound weird, but depending on what side of the head it is take a warm moist cloth, place it on the foot on the opposite side of the headache (so if headache is mostly left side of head put it on right foot) massage cloth gently into the foot lay him down in darkened (but not totally dark) room and make him take deep breaths. It won't go straight away but the two times I've had a migraine it has worked and that was from a nurse, so I hope it works for Dad. If not I'll try send a healing angel his way!

Another therapy, if you were able to get hold of one, is to place an oxygen mask on his face and get him to take about five minutes of slow gentle breaths, but obviously it's not easy to get hold of oxygen
