all three of our cats are rescue cats. As you say, with so many waiting for adoption, why bother going to a breeder?

Yes it is a shame humans can not be more responsible with their pets. I understand there are some instances when it can not be helped but many people use pets as a throw away item when the novelty factor wears off. Such a shame.
some local knitting group knit cat-bed blankets that are given with each adoptions as well. is a very nice touch

The knitting group is actually kept very busy, they also knit little hats for preemies at our local hospital

when he was young he had seperation anxiety after being with all those young cats in the shelter, so we had to set him up for sleep with a teddy bear the first 6 months or so
Aww sad but necessary for the poor little fella. Glad he is over that bad period in his life. Good to know he is in a good home now :-)

So, I got accepted to provincial disability coverage. But, according to the federal program i am not disabled enough and they turned me down. At least i will continue with the provincial coverage.
Would rather not have either, but that is the way it is.
Applying for disability is a rough go. I and my wife fought with them for 10 years to get her approved
and the doctors seem to take great delight in boucing the paperwork back and forth for a year or 2 then not filling it out right so you have to reapply over and over
I do some part-time work which is okay with the provincial program (they actually pay me extra because of it) but because I earn money the federal won't cover me, regardless that I paid into it most of my life.

my wife is legally blind. She has an eye specialist , but disability demanded that the paperwork be filled out by our family doctor who had no idea of her case with her eyes. that too a year, then the paperwork was bounced back due to not enough info and only then were we allowed to have the eye doc fill it out. that took time as well

yes, jayk it does not work quite in that way. You have to retrain yourself as to viewing habits. For example, If you like house. you use netflix to watch every single episode back to back if you wish. If you like pawn stars, you instead stream it directly from the history channel
That way I can also watch US shows on their websites.

Ha. Those old typewriters make nice display pieces though. Fun to see kids look at them as if they came from a horror movie.
there is a company that refurbishes them so you can actually hook them up to your computer and use them just like a keyboard or you can type it old style at the same time

She will often take the pictures "blind" if light conditions are bothering her eyes. She can see blurry shapes in thses conditions but i guide her positioning or wait till the right time of day for her so the light is more diffused. that way she can take great shots
