thanks Dee, new one for me too

cooee and g'day from me
good morning
as usual, I'm here when everybody else is sleeping....
hugs and kisses ruby
hello, rosie!!!! I am happy to see you. You are definitely a ray of sunshine in this endless rain. I had rained, off and on, every day for more than 3 weeks. I'm getting moldy
it has*
ewww, poor ruby. not much help from me....we are expecting a massive wind-storm. apparently the wind is sooo cold it will feel like -30 here.
that is very unusual for there, non?
very unusual weather. the wind has swept up from the south pole. poor tasmania has copped it really bad. and we are expecting snow in south australia...
We get very narrow, piercing windstorms through our valley, but they're not usually cold, just noisy and unpleasant and very local. Rarely, we get wind that carries Saharan sand which coats everything with fine yellow dust, particularly interesting after a snowstorm "Don't eat the yellow snow!'
lolol, we say the same of yellow snow, but for a different reason.
(US TOO). wHEN I WAS A KID, MY MOTHER USED TO MAKE ME SNOW ICE CREAM, SNOW +MAPLE SYRUP
whoops, sorry for shouting
oooohhhh, now that sounds yummy.
What makes it funny is that we had a candy store and I had ice cream once or twice every day but Mother's snow ice cream was still special (as was my mother). Can you imagine? I still miss her and she's been gone about 20+ years!
yes i can understand it, ruby. when your mum is /was such a special person, you will never stop missing her.
It makes me sad that she never got to see my dogs, my garden, my house, etc. My dadd made it here once before he died and he was past 90! But she died about 7 years before him
ooh, I found the dy6 on my own
greetings friends
{{pugs}} I never see you any more! and I iss you
miss*
{{hugs}} miz pugs
I miss you too---hugs eveyone and love too
are you well, pugs?
Iam Rose
sorry about yesterday morning, Beulah got out and I had to go round her hide up-lol
how are you two doing
ah, so that's what happened. that's okay, you had a good excuse.
I'm OK but the endless rain is getting me down. Everything hurts; I must be getting old! lol
i'm very tired. not going to hydro tomorrow, it's going to be too cold.
BUT.... i have ankles again...
walker took her and elsie with him to river and never kept a eye on them and one of the farmers came up to the house and threaten to shoot her the next time she came there. Shes not mean at all but due to her size they are afraid of her
I am always afraid that the dogs will get out. The last time Rufe escaped, he wound up in the middle of the road in the village with cars whizzing by on both sides.
gosh, that man is not to be trusted with anything. i think most of his brain cells must be pickled.
Iam really worried about you Rose and Ruby, rain is suppose to be good luck-lol
He's a great dog, but not ec=actly brilliant
oh, i remember that ruby. you were nearly beside yourself with worry.
it was stormy here yesterday too
and Burt is useless in those situations
I cant stay :(--for I got to get ready but I just wanted to let you know what happen--Please give my love to Sprite and Liz if they come. Iam getting to not like work interfering with my friends on babble time-lol I will try catching everyone tomorrow morning--Lots of love and hugs to you all
{{bigs hugs for pugs}}
will do pugs. hope your day is good to you, love
good morning all
here i am, darling. just hanging around in the hopes i would see you. xoxox
hello dear rose :) How are you today? Any improvement in the feet?
sprite, i have ankles again....lol
woooooot! Yay for ankles, lol. Must feel better.
i saw your email. thank-you sweetie. your words as always are so encouraging.
*hugs rose* least I can do for my friend, right? ;)
have just been watching footage of the situation in palestine/israel/gaza. i'm weeping for those poor innocents caught in the middle.
how are you, dearest? have you had a reasonable night?
I don't watch or follow the news. Will ho4 those people in my prayers though.
please do, sprite. i wish someone/some country/ some power would pick up all those fighting and dump them in the sahara, and they can fight it out there. did you see pugs post in chat. she sends her love.
just read it, yes. So sorry to have missed her. I had a very unexpected sleep-in.
we need a planet without any technology. To dump everyone who wants to fight on. No weapons. Food distributed to each person once a day.
nice to have the sleep-in. or was the sleep-in because your night was disturbed?
very late in falling asleep. And weird dreams.
i've been awake since 3am, and it is now 8pm. so i am pretty tired tonight.
ouch yes. That is not good. How come you didn't sleep longer last night?
night was a tad warmer than the last 2 weeks. i burned on and off since 3 am.
oh so very uncomfortable :( Am sorry, rose. I hope this night will be better.
we are supposed to get some pretty rough weather later tonight and tomorrow. high winds, straight up from the south pole. chill factor expected to be -30 in some places. unheard of snow expected in south australia.
weather all around the world seems to be off.
yeah, ruby was saying she has had rain for the last 2 weeks(?) i think she said.
yes, and we are having alternating heat waves and periods of nonstop rain, or absolutely crazy amounts of rain.
too weird!!
climate changes, looks like. Will be interesting to see how it develops. If the poles melt too much, we will have to emigrate here, lol.
we all will emigrate....to the himalayas...
lol
or mount everest....whichever is closer...
hey, I want the same mountain as you will be on!
it will be like that film...total recall....there will be isolated colonies all over the place....so long as you, me, both nancy's and liz are all in the same one.
that is what I mean, lol. As long as we can be together, we will survive.
there you go again, saying what i am thinking...lol...{{ ENORMOUS HUGS }}
*hugs* Sister of my soul :)
you know, i can just picture it. you, me, both hubbies in a restaurant. them chatting away, you and i just looking at one another, and every now and then bursting out laughing.
lolollllll too true!
ah, love, i know i have to wait, but i am so excited by the thought that within a year you and i will be on the same square foot of land.
me too! Can't tell you how much I am looking forward to that.
good morning!
better make that a square yard...pugs will e there too
hi dawg!
good morning lbd
Hiya, Sprite and Rose!
of course, even with a square yard, bits of us will hang over the edges. not pugs, though.
cos she will be squished in between us...lolol
pugs is slim, we are not, lol. Oh, imagine being able to hug the two of you for real.
fireflies. Not one of the funnest grids ever, for sure
WTG SPRITE!!!
whooo hoooo sprite!!
thank you, thank you :) *takes bow, hands out autographed pictures*
how are you today, dawg?
hey, that's something i haven't got...a signed picture of my beloved friend. what about it, hun?
*snags autographed picture* :) I'm doing okay. up early and now enjoying the coolness of the morning.
not that many pictures of me in the world, tbh. I don't like being photographed. I tend to look so stupid on pics.
ah, coolness is so nice, dawg. And when it is early, it is so quiet too.
reading back a little in the chat, weather weirdness everywhere, hotter than necessary here. Rose, hope the body continues to heal. Sprite, you're silly, I bet you are as lovely in person as you project here in the chat.
well you're going to have to have one on the dust jacket of your book.
yes, it is quiet. something to enjoy along with the coolness.
aw dawg, thanks *blush* No I really photograph weird. But yeah, the book, indeed. I'll autograph your copy for you, rose :)
I love being up and about before the rest of the world.
* gives smug grin *
and that's not true, sprite. liz's pics of you both were stunning.
and when will your book be available in the states, sprite?
just got the news that they are gonna do a translation of them, dawg. So no date available yet, might still take quite a while. But it is going to happen!
woot! Hope it wont take too long, but later is better than never.
true. Am so happy with the news. And I get to see the translation before it goes public and I get to change things I don't like. So that is really awesome.
I'm so excited for you! so many try their hand at writing and give up because of the trials of getting published. and being an international author...WOW!!
yeah I think it is a great initiative of my publisher. It is not like I am a bestselling author here at all. But my publisher has struck a deal with an american publisher/book club and this is the outcome.
babblers will help make you that best selling author! :)
wouldn't that be awesome??? I really hope it will spread from babble.
well, once it gets out, and you let us all know...we'll promote it, at least I know I will!
thank you, dawg :D
and i from here in oz land
thank you, rose :D How can it fail with such good promotors?
:-) book-aholic here.
oh same here! Best thing there is, a good book to read.
yup. coworkers don't understand how I can have no clue as to who "famous" people are...I just laugh and say "If they aren't in the books I read, I haven't a clue who they are."
lol I love that.
going for night-time meds. brb
we have 'famous' Dutch people whose claim to fame is that they are... famous. I mean, how stupid is that?
hurry back, rose
oh, btw, a babbler pointed me to a great book about the english language: the glamour of grammar. I loved every letter of it.
it's silly! we get actors here in the valley that want their anonymity, fine with me, I don't know who they are anyway! lol
hahahaha exactly.
putting glamour of grammar on my to be read list.
I can recommend it. It is interesting, it has humour, and it makes you think.
good morning, Sprite, you must let us know when your book will be available in the US. I am so proud of you. I am an avid reader.
hi Annie, thank you and I will!
and back. g'day annie
good morning, annie
g'day, rose and morning dawg :):)
wb rose
Good day to all. My sleep was rudely disrupted by a very loud thunderstorm 2 hrs ago.
how inconsiderate of the weather, Scrabs.
hiya, scrabs, wb, rose
Hi Scrabbs
Boom, boom, crack, crack, and very heavy rains.
awww scrabs, no good. are you safe?
so rude
Oh, yes, Granny. No fallen trees. No power outage.
do the bunnies get upset with loud weather occurances, scrabs?
okay then. stay a whiles....enjoy the company...then perhaps to sleep and dream again. not necessarily in that order...lol
Tim leaves for a couple of days today... Caya wants to cook dinner tonight... my love and I are enjoying a day of relaxation, lol
They seem ok, dawg. If they were upset they would start thumping, and there I times I hear them do that. It is usually animals outside, I guess.
so nice, sprite. where is the boyo off too? and i say, go for it, caya, with my blessings...
clue for en6?
e + double consonant + use your h*** to think
I've always wondered about "silent" pets, and how they expressed stress or upset. glad to hear your furbabies are okay.
it is called 'sneek week', a get-together for young people in Sneek, a town in Friesland. Some go surfing on the lake. The rest will 'chill', hang out, chat, use their mobile phones and drink.
ty, rose...fish slap! looking at wrong E
bunnies can stamp, and growl, right Scrabs?
good morning everyone:)
nice sprite, just what he needs...and what the rest of you need, come to think of it.
yeah it comes at a good time, rose, that is true.
whoot!!! good morning crossy
morning, crossy. Sprite, sounds like a pleasant time for everyone.
crossy! *hugs* How've you been, dear friend? I heard you finally have an appointment with the neck doctor?
They thump their back feet as a way to send an alert to other rabbits. They do growl when mad too.
Hi Crossy
when I was a child we had a dwarf bunny. He could growl at our dog so angrily and our dog, who was easily 20 times as big, was cowed by it.
I've heard of thumping, but not growling. ferocious bunnies! yikes
um, scrabs? that sounds just like my 1 year old grandson.
lol, rose!
*giggles*
Toddlers are uncivilized, unsocialized beasts. I tell that to parents in my office to explain toddler behavior. The parents' job is to civilize and socialize the child. And that often never happens.
and now it's time to take those night-time meds....i had better sleep tonight....or i will be cutting someone's throat in the morning...probably my own...
so true, Scrabs. So many parents don't seem to understand they have a JOB to do.'
sweet sleeps, Rose. count bunnies if you can't turn off your brain to sleep.
aw rose, darling. You will sleep fine tonight. I am singing you a lullaby. *hugs*
you mean the little blighters don't raise themselves? Shock! say it isn't so!
oh they raise themselves fine... into antisocial misfits.
scrabs, you will be pleased to know this child's mother did not come down in the last shower. in fact, she is one of the most accomplished young mother i know.
Great news, Granny.
indeed sprite, appt is set for this October:)
that's nice to hear, rose.
all my favorite babblers;))
crossy, am so glad! You had to wait for so long.
yeah, my eldest grandson, threww a tantrum at about the same age. i watched as she stepped OVER the screaming child, and she said...that will get you no-where, mate.
good for her! I have done exactly the same thing... in the supermarket... when Tim was that age.
I love tough love parents!
oh, don't start me on tales of 'toddlers'. i was in a supermarket with my eldest, he was about 9 months old and still being breast-fed. half way through the supermarket, (he was sitting in the baby/toddler seat of the trolley) he yanked down my t-shirt to get at my boobs. my goodness, the screams because i wouldn't feed him then and there.
lol my son once asked me: "And what if I don't want to be polite to my boss, and what if I want to burp in front of the queen?" And I told him: "It is not my job to make that kind of choices for you. It is my job to make sure you HAVE a choice at such moments."
lololll rose! And you refused him sustenance there and then? How cruel :D
Could I get the stats for the 7 please?
hi Marc, En7/44. It is a compound.
thanks
exactly, sprite. and because we give those kids the choice, with a firm direction towards the correct selection, we are the world's worst parents.
WTG worst parents!
Life is all about choices and consequences. If____, then____.
yeah so they claim. But at some point, I am sure they will appreciate being able to choose.
very true, Scrabs
marc, en7, the final + how we describe a unit of chess, tennis, baseball
Bottom line no matter what you do or how we treat our kids in the end we don't get a vote
knowing they have a choice is one thing, getting them to see that not all choices are good is another. I think that's the hardest lesson for kids to learn.
yes, I think so too. And some things they will only learn the hard way.
sprite, to whit, my eldest...??? the one who insists that my incorporating religious instruction as part of his up-bringing is abuse??
how can he make an informed decision, if he doesn't have all the information?
rose, your eldest needs his butt kicked. He should appreciate your efforts. Knowing about religion is imperative, I think. It is part of our culture.
I must get ready for work, folks. Enjoy the day.
I'm not sure kids understand the word...abuse. religion can provide some insightful lessons.
hagd, scrabs.
bye Scrabs, have a good day at work
enjoy, scrabs. xoxox
if they think learning about religion in a relaxed way is abuse, they are damn lucky children. Who haven't been close to abuse at all.
Unfortunately we have to let them make their own mistakes and be there to support them when they realize the mistake they made. It's really frustrating.
it is
so agree, marc. i have been waiting for nearly 8 years. that is how long since my eldest has spoken to me without being abusive
the joys of parenting. I'm really enjoying being a grandparent. watching my son and dil raise their children is fun and frustrating. mostly I'm impressed by their fortitude in not raising their hands or voices to their kids. Although I can see the twinkle of mischief in my son's eyes when he really wants to be sarcastic to his oldest boy.
granted, the kids are 9, 5 and 6 months. it's still fun to watch.
sarcasm can cut harder than a loud voice
My first granddaughter is just 5 weeks old and my daughter is just realizing what a good mother she had. they had a difficult relationship and now it is just getting better and better.
wow Marc, that is good news
nice, marc.
Yes we had our kids when we were very young but out kids have waited until they were older. Only one grandchild from our youngest.
What are the stats for the lone 'd' in the first column?
What are the stats for the lone 'd' in the first column?
dy6/30. Fishworthy.
marc, you will be a power-house when you get it.
get what?
got it thanks
get the dy6. that's what creates electric power
yvw
lol rose, great clue and ty
lolol...yay marc
and yay crossy
yeah, son learned early that sarcasm wasn't going to work. first of all the grand didn't get it, and they both only got more frustrated. son learned, direct approach is so much better.
very good example too. No passive-aggressive techniques, just plain and straight communication.
I say screw it and just beat them.
lol, marc
*giggles*
I don't believe in spare the rod. sometimes the only way to get their attention is a sharp smack on the bottom.
with todays nanny-state schooling, you must be careful though marc. never mind beating them; just packing a lunch the school does not apporve of gets you called in to explain yoursef these days
I feel bad for all new parents who cannot be allowed to raise their own kids now.
nanny-state...the mary poppins school or namby pamby.
for goodness sake!! crossy!! i used to bake/make all my kid's lunches...including the read/rolls.
lol, have to watch that now as well!
*groan* bbbb....bread....
no wonder your child feels abused, rose, lolollll... if you made him read his rolls!
it's ridiculous...lunch for an active child...it must be high in energy....
oh, dear, sprite. LOLOL
I understand why so many parents opt for home schooling. Rose, there are some schools that wont let you bring in treats for the class. nothing to do with food allergies mind you, more of "fairness" and equality for those who can't afford to do the same.
my son never had a peanut butter sandwich in public school. he had to wait till high school because there was one! child that had an allergy..one
lol sprite
you are quite correct lbd
it is very dangerous for a child with a peanut butter allergy to be exposed to PB, not even eat PB
idiocy! If the one child cannot eat peanuts, he or she just shouldn't eat peanuts. How are they to learn to behave responsible for themselves if the whole school is catering to that one allergy?
I uderstand that, but what if my son was allergic to bread products, does the school cater to that?
yeah, i know, dawg. the latest is you are contravening the bullying/harassment policy if you greet a fellow worker with a hug/kiss. others may feel left out if they don't get the same treatment.
allergies to Peanuts can be very dangerous to a young child
yeah, food allergies are really dangerous. my youngest niece is allergic to peanuts. can't have anything remotely touching the goobers near any of her food or anything she'll touch.
it can, but an entire school, for one child?
you could have fed him a pb at home, crossy
he could of been taught at hom,e
Scrabbs can explain it better than I can. My friend's son died because he was exposed to PB in school and had a very bad reaction.
but it is the past
more and more, home schooling seems to be the answer. they rush the children though now.
I'm chemically sensitive to a variety of scents. and people who marinate in their perfumes and colognes will set off a reaction. I can't tell people they are making me sick from their smell, I can however, remove myself from the area. unless it's a stinky customer, then I have to suffer and pay the consequences, for their need to stink.
In most families, both parents work so home schooling is not feasible.
my beloved also has scent issues. strong perfumes can put her into a very bad asthma attack
I think the interaction between children is important too, for their development. Not easy to give children a balanced education at home.
I've been away from the education field for quite some time, are charter and magnet schools still popular?
yes, there war downfalls to home schooling, it is not for everyone
are*
I think cooperatives are workable for those families who have working parents.
annie, you are quite correct. my god-daughter, as a toddler, was allergic to PB. her mother and i didn't know. fortunately the first time she was offered PB, i was there. she broke out in enormous red blotches, like mosquito bites. she was only 12 months old at the time. her mother(my beloved friend) panicked...but she had phenergan syrup on hand. i was able to advise her to give her daughter a dose, and the allergy subsided. * we were in the middle of rural victoria at the time. no medical attention available for at least 30 minutes *
rose, It was a tragedy that could have been avoided.
I know allergic reactions can be truly severe. But making the whole school go without for the one allergy, that is, in my opinion, not a good thing. You have to prepare a child for a world that does NOT cater to his or her allergy.
I fully understand the dangers of a peanut allergy. My simple point being that a school of 1000 kids should not have to adapt for every single life- threatening allergy that comes through the door. peanut allergies are the current "flavour of the month" and are treated as such,
correct sprite
could I get a clue for ya5, please?
Marc; Y + what you say to end a prayer.
thanks
yvw
It may have been noted for only one child, but there may have been others who were sensitive if not full out allergic to peanuts. sad but a health issue is one that can't be slighted.
how horrible, Annie, to lose a child to an allergic reaction.
well, perhaps there was no perfect solution at the time
although I can understand needing to prepare the child for real life situations, such as life with an epi-pen.
Isn't magna a word?
indeed. once my son was ready to start high school, it was so ingrained in me that i asked about peanut allergies and they said" we have 5 or 10 here, they should know what to do and what not to do" " your son can eat what he wishes in his lunch"
my daughter is the same with perfumes, dawg, and with cigaret smoke. She gets a very bad asthma attack from those substances. She had to learn to remove herself from places where they are.
it is, Marc. Just not valid in enable. Magna cum laude. Maybe it only counts in the expression.
very good, crossy. I am firmly in favour of teaching a child responsibility for him/herself.
ma5 either on please?
the first one builds on the ma4/6 before it, rhymes with gently warm weather, ba***
ma5/18, add sometimes vowel to ma4/6
the other is ma + first 3 of giving up smoking.
A child in elementary school does not have the freedom of movement that high schoolers do. The envirenment must be made safe for them. If you must have PBJ, have it at home. Better to save the life of a child w/o complaining.
ma5/18, ma + french for who
Thanks for both
a school should not have to alter 1000 student due to one allergy. what if my sone had an alergy to chalk? and it was life threatening. Should I ask of the school to abandon all use of chalk? that is my point
yvw marc
crossy, If chalk allery was deadly the school would do it without your asking them to do so.
I am all in favour of saving a child's life. I just think it isn't wise to remove a very common thing from a school completely.
np's marc. he4 starting to swim..meds have kicked in. xoxox to you all. i hope your day/night is kind to you.
I think we must agree to disagree , Annie where one child's allergy can alter the lives of 1000 students
night night rose. Sleep well, dream even better. *hugs*
gn rose. sleep well
It is just peanut butter, crossy, we are not taking away their right to vote when they reach 18 or 21. Just peanut butter. They just CAnnot have it in schools.
No one is altering their lives, it is just PEANUT BUTTER. my last word on this subject.
ga5, please?
There are schools here that have signs the let people know that there is a child with a nut allegy in the room. That way children can still bring in PBJ but the teachers/parents/TAs know that they need to be watchful of the child/children with the allergy
still love ya annie, but we are on opposite sides of the fence on this one and that is my last word on the subject as well
one of the 'gears' of a horse, Marc. A quick speed. Or a dance step.
Marc, horses do this ga 5
sweet sleeps, rose
My concern about an across the board, no peanut products rule in schools is that it sets up a "false safe environment" for kids. Those with allergies need to learn how to cope with them in school as well as the rest of the world.
that appeals more to me, megsy. I like the possibility to take responsibility.
thanks annie
In CT, peanut products are not allowed in nursery schools and preschools.
no peanuts served on some airlines. wish I could request no stink when I fly.
agreed molly and much more sensible way to go about it, megsy
ma6, please
ok, I am off for today. May you all have a blessed day and a peaceful night. *hugs*
lol, lbd
As someone with a peanut allergy, I've never heard of a school banning peanut butter. It's not very pleasant to smell, in fact I've had to ask friends not to breath in my direction when eating a snickers bar, but I don't see the problem with other people eating peanuts in their own lunches. Just as long as it's nowhere likely to contaminate other people's food
tc ))sprite))
love ya, sprite. hagd
got the ma6, thanks
lop-sded hug there.
sided

Hello
One you should really go after, mon13 is one called Androids dream of Electric Sheep

tc

Car, how is your toe?
almost missed your post cross... who wrote it please ?
Phillip K. Dick
it is one of the big ones
was the basis of the bladerunner movie and was printed in 68 i believe
Where's ru?
have not seen him yet this morning jaxx
St Pun of innuendo could make hay with that name!
yes of course i read that wayyyyy back thanks anyway cvross "real poof"
I have read 2 of those books
I am onlh touching base. I am off to get my hair done. Be back later
much of my quality reading comes from waaaay back;)
Game is obviously acting up
why sukee? seems to be working fine for me atm
Me too crossy.
I coudln't add words for a bit and then chat was slow okay now
mm, just a hiccup i suppose
Oh good lord...I just had to take the dog out...painful! :(
poor car:(
Isn't it supposed to start feeling better by day three?
Day three? How bad was the break?
significant
Clear through
and a Crossy tidbit of the day!: Do Andioids Dream of Electric Sheep is currently #2 on the best selling sci-fi book of all time list!
Mine wasn't right for six weeks.
Did it hurt really bad?
what did you break,car?
My fourth toe on my left foot
My first broken bone
mm you and T.O are in the same boat
It hurt a lot and I have a freakishly weird high threshold for pain.
And the movie Bladerunner was based on it :)
I have broken many bones in the past.
it was indeed sukee
I do too molly, that is what is driving me nuts.
With all the trouble i have had with my sciatica recently, this is 10x worse.
I broke my fibula last year and didn't even know it.
I didn't need a cast or anything
If I am in pain, I usually laugh
sadly, car, my sciatica pain has become the "new normal" for me
I totally understand. Nothing I have ever done, including childbirth, hurt as much as the broken toe.
Ok...now I feel better. Thanks Molly.
put your foot up car, and drink 5 G@T's a day
May I switch those out for vodka martinis in various flavors, Crossy?
you may indeed
OK...I have 8 left
I can make you crossy's famous martini!
Yeah, as John Belushi said in Animal House, I suggest you start drinking heavily.
yes, the rest will fall into place on its own
But I'm no supposed to drink with these pain killers :(
NOt to mention the three people and 2 dogs I must attend to during the day
mm.. do not want you doing a "Jim Morrison" on us
The first MA 5/18 please?
my sister had a bf once who did exactly that
:(
poor kid had it all too.. worked for BMW and all he did was fly around the world delivering prototype parts to various divisions
bonus tidbit for you all! I quite like this painting and wish to share; http://tinyurl.com/lk8h7wy
GE 5/14 is also needed please?
pretty picture.
ge 5/14 - city in Italy
OK...the game is wonky today. I tried that twice just to be sure. TY sukee
YW, your question made me look for it :)

Now I'm cranky and just want to be done. 3 to go

Well, as much as I don't want to, I have to go do some work :)
Sorry, but I am

:)
Hi folks, just starting
howdy, bichon
ty crossy for the clue
np:)
It is also the name of an awesome magician! Hi, all
howdy,jaxx
Hi, Crossy. Now all neat around the head and ears.
ahh, had your ears lowered did you? :)
Yes. lol. Wish I could make my eyes better.
My beloved has also put in an order for a set of bionic eyes as soon as they become available
i think she has had her problem longer than mine so she should go first :)
well over 15 years now
I am quite happy for her to try them out and let me know whether they are good or not.
and she has already had her cataracts removed and two artificial rx lenses put in
There's such a thing crossy?
they are working hard on it, bichon. there have been a few trials already
I've got that to look forward to. How does she cope? I am miserable.
but it is for the totally blind at the moment, and last I checked it gave you primitive vision at best, though that may have changed
she coipes by having the proper mind-st, jaxx. She would of driven herself to despair and depression if she had not learned coping mechanisms
copes*
mind-set
plus I help wherever I can
My husband and I came out of the outpatients on Tuesday and it was literally the halt leading the blind.
before ereaders became popular, she had been ten years without being able to read a book. That ,i think, was the hardest on her
Hi everybody. Jaxx - what's the diagnosis?
As I said, she has been suffering longer than I. I can still read but not for long.
yes, what is the diagnosis on your eyes jaxx?
None yet. One disc is cupped (whatever that means) but I have to wait on a team meeting tomorrow for a verdict.
Why so dejected, then?
well, they can just remove your old discs. My wife had both hers done
My bruises are now spectacular to behold. Black, blue, red and yellow
Bruising on your eye? Have the donuts expanded?
Just finding it hard to cope with the discomfort after the tests
it can be uncomfortable for a bit
No, on my arm where they tried several times to insert the canulas in my thin, wiggly veins
The doughnut has turned yellow, presumably altered by the dye. Shame, i quite liked that colour
I am guessing that both your current , natural lenses may not be long for this world and you will get two artificial ones
Sorry to hear that, Jaxx.
good thing is that it is a quick, painless procedure
took the doc only 20 minutes to do both my beloved
beloved's
Solpadeine!! Plenty of it.
The person in charge of the unit was very quiet. She suddenly blurted out that she had driven up to a young woman with a white hospital gown and a hospital band on her wrist. She was standing in the middle of the road but then she was gone. The tech searched gardens both sides of the road but there was no sign of anyone. She was very spooked.
I find Solpadeine makes me sleep
lol, they better put a beeper on their patients
I sensed plenty of ghosts myself today. I went on a bit of a road-trip up to Belfast to visit the Titanic exhibition. It was marvelous. But very very sad.
No. She was just gone, crossy, on a wide road with just gardens on either side. I wonder if she was a newly departed soul gettingher bearings. The technician was spooked and it had made her think. I don't think at 9am she had been on the whiskey
Hi Jaxx and Soodle
Hi, bich
Hiya ((Bich))
One of my American relatives went to the centenary exhibition and she said the same.
Hi everyone. Thought I would get a few words before I depart to bed. I love the Titanic quarters Soodle. If I'd known you were I Belfast, I would have met up with you!!
I would love to see the titanic exhibit, but it is a long way from home for me:(
Soodle, my grandson has moved in until we have the child protection meeting on Aug 12th. He has my bed and I am on a guest bed in the spare room. he fell out of bed because he isn't used to the space and I didn't fall as there is no space for my bulky bod to fit between bed and boxes.
Ah, Candy. What a pity! I was really very impressed with the whole experience. It's very well done. I don't think I have ever 'met' you before. Do you know Haz?
Oh, soodle the Babble magnet. You missed a chance to make another meet. What a pity
all the best babble get-togethers happen around soodles:)
Lol Jaxx. Falling out of bed is an occupational hazard of being a kid! And Cross, I have attended the grand total of 1 (one) Babble meet!!
crossy, that is oh so true.
There will be more, though
And, Candy, on the way home from Belfast, we called into The Outlet in Banbridge. A little bit of retail therapy to finish off a lovely day. Oh! AND I won 60 euros on the Galway Races, so all in all, a thoroughly satisfying day. :-)
If you are in Belfast again, be sure to let me know. I am only 26 miles down the road! I know Haz's husband. He does some of the veterinary work on our farm. Have never met Haz though
It is a small Babble world
I sure will! :-)
alden
Oh! I like the Outlet. You have put me in the mood for retail therapy now
alden
that is the good thing about being over there. everything is nice and close. The babbler nearest me would be carleekat and she is a 3 hour drive south near the can/us border in sarnia;0
a non-word, thankfully
snap, candy
mon 13 is a 6 hour drive
Oh dear. Think I will call it a night. Never going to finish anyway. Good to talk to you all. GN
tc candy
My birthday is (sadly) fast approaching. I have informed the offspring that I want an air ticket to the UK, to visit the gruesome twosome of mine who are billeted there. Maybe, if we can wangle something, Jaxx, we might meet up?
night, candy
Night Candy, and nice to 'meet' you. :-)
i will definitely try.
Apart from the inevitable fallling out of bed, how is Ashley getting on?
My sister and I have made up our differences so I can stay there or even in Swindon. Just let me know when
I'm happy to hear you and your sister have patched things up. :-)
He is missing his mother. Other than that, he seems fine. He has to sleep here but can go home during the day. We had a temper tantrum today because we wouldn't buy 'Grand Theft Auto 5' for him. It is ahrd enough keeping children children as it is without allowing rape etc into the sitting room.
Bless him.
Cross, the Titanic thing is really impressive. It's a walk through of how the ship was built, the finished product, including mock-ups of the cabins, the dining room, the grand stair-case (of course), and then stories of individuals who travelled on the ship. I must say, it was really well done. http://tinyurl.com/p3v8vbt
She has a very verbally abusive husband. He likes to befriend Jill's friends and take them away so she is dependant on him. One died recently and her husband went around at the funeral declaring to anyone who'd listen that Daphne had been murdered. When Jill told him not to, he turned a torrent of abuse at her and said all he wanted was her support. She had no-one to call and unburden herself except me. I couldn't refuse to listen even if she had previously upset me.
agreed, jaxx we did not allow our son to have any game from that series while he was a minor
A manipulator!
Ashley tried to say his mother would let him but when she phoned she agreed with us. Children should be out playing, not slumped in front of degrading computer games.
An insane manipulator, soodle. Did you know that it only rains on Paul to annoy him and as for snow!!!
I know the type, Jaxx. I was married to one for 20 years.
Jill has asked me how Nigel and I have managed to last 45 years without consulting psychiatrists. The answer is I don't know. perhaps the secret is Nigel doing whatever I tell him to. lol
Aha! Nigel clearly follows the Golden Rule For Men:- Whenever you're wrong, admit it. Whenever you're wrong... shut up!
Dang!!!! Whenever you're wrong admit it, whenever you're RIGHT shut up. (That was a FAIL!!)
Possibly so. I think his knack of shutting me out (he was one of 6 sons) may have something to do with it. He just says yes and no at appropriate moments
I just say i am sorry at the start of each and every day, that way I am ready for whatever comes up;)
Wise move, crossy.
LOL Crossy.
What's this Pat Bennetar sang about?? Love is a battlefield. I'm humming the tune as I type...
it is like a battle on the open plains as each side fights for posession of an endless series of small berms. It is give here, take there and lose a few battles in hopes to win the war:)
I'm tired after a pretty long day today, so I'm going to turn it. Jaxx, best wishes for a good result tomorrow. Thanks for the chat Jaxx & Cross. Nighty night. Hugs all round. Poof
