((((rose))))) how be you?? :)
doing fine, thanx dee. the magnesium is working a treat. and you, dear?
hi rose!
hi saanichcat
just fine for now. Glad the magnesium is helping!
fireworks, finally... got stopped at about 50 left... super glad for lickety :)
WTG DEE!!!
ty, rose! Have you been busy?
not really. being able to do the household chores whenever i like makes a big difference to my life-style.
today i have been going through some old paperwork. dated back to 2002. most of which was put in the recycling, some shredded.
what have you been up to, dee?
we have had more company lately, so have had more chores. Weather here has been gorgeous, so I have been taking advantage of our porch (for as long as possibly can). Was on prednisone for a bit, so got some projects done I have been wanting to finish for a LONG time :)
Celebrated my birthday in Sept, which was fun... nothing big, just some nice dinners, and hubby got me a gorgeous mirror for our bath that I have been wanting.
good for you, hun. oh, did i miss your special day? i am so sorry. happy birthday, dee!! lovely gift from hubby.
magnesium is having the same effect on me, as the prednisolone on you. hence all the paperwork sorting. have nearly finished one boxful, about to start the next.
What a fantastic sense of accomplishment!! That is a job I hate, so I know how wonderful it feels to get it done :)
well i do have to make room for the next 10 years worth...lol
In a couple of weeks, I am supposed to have a shot in the lumbar area of my spine. They want me to do an intense therapy for 20 days (5 days a week in a city 50 minutes from here)... just not sure yet, if I can do that or not.
LOL, rose, sure know that feeling... need an extra house just for all the idiotic paperwork
Be sure not to accidentally get rid of paperwork you might need for your case.
ugh, that seems like a long drive, dee.
That, plus the daily commitment...
*giggle* that is all safely away in another room.
so what do 'they' hope to achieve?
Glad you are felling so well and energetic. It is nice to have a "real" life, even if only for a bit. If I knew for sure this therapy would work, I think I could get more excited. I have some "bulgy" disks; the shot is supposed to help with the inflammation, and the therapy is a kind of traction that may or may not help those bulgy areas to recede... not convinced yet it will work.
i mean, if you are driving or being driven, the vibration from the road/car can undo any good you may achieve.
That is exactly what makes me nervous, but it isn't available here
We are going to take a week or so to think about it, plus it is not carried by insurance, so it would be out-of-pocket.
ahhh, traction. dee, go for it. when i prolapsed 9 discs 30+ years ago, i was in traction for 3 weeks, continuously. that is what probably saved me from a wheelchair life.
This is a table, legs on pillows, and the table gently pulls the spine apart (reminds me of Morticia on the Adams Family)...
and if you can find some very good lumbar cushions which could 'deaden' the vibrations, that would be helpful.
Logically makes sense, it might help, so I need to consider it seriously.
True.
Our car has heat in the lumbar part of the front seats, which should be helpful.
and you are going to have to be very kind to yourself for those 4 weeks.
Of course, it is about the busiest time of year before the holidays, so taking it easy may not be realistic.
Wish I had started this earlier this summer - really mad at myself for procrastinating.
of course, thanksgiving coming up isn't it?
Yes, a big outdoor gathering in October; our anniversary; some time with kids, then lots of company in November...
Lots to think about... don't want to miss opportunity to feel better, but just not sure if it is worth the $, the drives, the time, etc...
could you have some of the ladies from church help you around the house for those weeks? and don't think you don't deserve the help. if we all go around giving help, whose doing the accepting ?
I am very fortunate - I have a cleaning helper and names of 2 ladies I can call, so I am not terribly worried about the house. My daughter and son-in-law will help us with holiday preparations, so I am not too worried about that...
then go for it dee, grab the opportunity with both hands, sweetie.
It will be how helpful hubby can be with drive to therapy, and who I might use if he can't...
And, of course, if the money is well spent; it is pretty expensive.
We'll see; very thankful I have a bit of time to think about it.
dee, to have you walking pain free....there is no amount of money that is too much.
Borderline - sometimes yes, sometimes no. Right now the pain comes and goes. You are right, rose.
Well, I need to get going... busy day tomorrow. So glad you are able to get your projects done!!! Glad magnesium is helping! (((rose)))
like me, our insurance does not cover the magnesium infusions. i am paying for them myself. but the results have been wonderful thus far.
{{dee}} hope your night is a great rest, dear
Great encouragement and good reality check. Thanks for the advice :)
Have a great day / eve (((rose)))

Morning peeps
hello matty. nice to meet you.
Ditto
what time of day do you usually play?
When I can - sometimes at work during lunch - it's mid morning here - I doubt I'll finish the grid as I just have an hour or so whilst Jeff (OH) is briefly out. I'm not very predictabe!
predictable.
I always struggle with the long words - my mind doesn't see anagrams very well
darn, dinner ready. and he gets snarky if i'm not ready too. will be back in about 15 minutes or so.
Enjoy!
and i am back
Welcome!
How are you getting on with the grid?
and heeelloooo Rosie!
hello matty
Howdy
i have finished matty. {{ hugs}} dearest ruby.
I just started and only have a few minutes to dive in
Impressive! I haven't yet opened Lickety but I still have 179 left - I need all the 8s and 9s and 10 of the 7s. Grrr
matty, would you like a hand with the longer words?
Oh, yes please! :)
okay, ra9 is the plural of ra8, speed test + close friend
Gosh - what a word! Never heard of it. Ah, I'd forgotten the joys of arcane language
ac8, plural of ac7. a + bi**cle, 2 wheel form of transport + not early
You are a great clue giver
ar8, a + small brook + past tense of to consume
I even looked it up - thank you (now I know)
fe8, fe4, a noteworthy act + use bed + first letter of my name
Thank you sooo much - that's the 8s and 9s. I don't know how you find these. Ah, Jeff is back
lol, np's matty.
good morning all
AT LAST!! {{hugs}} sprite.xoxox
hello sprite
hi sweetie *hugs* Yeah am definitely a bit ill. Seem to need lots of sleep.
maybe the grid will make you feel jo5
awww poor sprite. *gentler hugs*
hi ruby *hug*
and how are you doing today, my lovelies?
i have actually started going through old paperwork from 2002. some recycled, some shredded.happier now i see you, sprite....and of course ruby....
Another sunny but chilly day but the garden is still lovely, full of roses
sounds pretty, ruby
aw rose... that will give room in your mind and house. Good job. And I am glad I can make you a little happier :)
and I'm keeping fingers crossed for the 2nd round of figs
oh brave little figs!
you make everybody happy, Sprite!
what a sweet thing to say, ruby :) Though I know for a fact that some people actively hate me, lol. To name one: cyber booh lee
and why should i and several others be alone....the more the merrier...
that's a new name for me, must be inconsequential
I agree, it is an honor to be hated by 'it', grin.
i wonder how you go about sueing internationally for slander and libel?
you don't, rose. It is not possible.
nice thought, though.
scare the little twerps pants off it...
living a great life is the best revenge, rose
when does "it" come on?
occasionally at flip.
there could be a unanimous hiss!
at all hours, but not as often on ours anymore. Also knows as nn, ruby.
it has several aliases, ruby. be very wary of any verbose new comer.
aaah, he' my least favorite babbler
off I go
{{hugs{{ girlies
hehehe yeah that one
XR
sorry for the weird xr. That was me wrestling with the capslock.
en5 your lunch, ruby
bye ruby, have a good one
Ooh, just reading through the last few minutes - I gather you're suffering from trolldom?
yes matty, in one form or another. in my case it told me if i chatted with certain other babblers i was not a friend.
we did, matty. A troll that thought it necessary to accuse our rose from all kinds of ugly stuff.
Argh. They get everywhere. If I recall correctly, there were one or two back in the old days (I even mentioned the risk of trolls in my review of this site)
they are rare, thank God. But the worst kinds are the ones that are pro babblers themselves.
It's amazing, isn't it, that'll people will pay money to troll
matty, what is so sad is that i have never said anything hurtful or nasty to it...just refused to give into demands which were insane.
not really. If you see how much trouble they are willing to go through to get attention, it makes sense that money isn't too much of an issue.
morning all :-)
hiya Wolvie :)
it's not just this site. there are other sites where it has soiled it's own nes4....too sad really.
g'day wolvie. how is ya, hun?
The only advise I can offer is don't feed the troll. I've been online for years and have found them on every site I've ever been on
and you, matty, how are you today?
true, matty. The best advice there is.
I'm ok - before long we shall do some tidying and heading to my storage unit - long story ;)
I am fine Rose- and you? and how is everyone else doing? hoping for the best possible for all :-)
cleaning out is a good thing, most of the time, matty. Not fun, but rewarding.
wolvie, the magnesium infusions are turning my like around. i sleep, i am motivated...all is good.
a bit of the flu here, Wolvie, but otherwise fine.
*life*
rose likes her life
VERY nice- glad to hear that rose- sorry to hear about the flu spritey-
Indeed! Earlier in the year my house was sold (a split up) and I moved into a small place with new partner - so a bit of juggling
well good luck matty :-)
wow matty :) Lots of lucky times with your new partner!
I feel Lickety's clues will be opened now
hope your future is rosy, matty...
So far so good - I've been with Jeff for a couple of years (ex was in the house before it was sold) and so far, so good :)
wonderful :)
off to get a coffee refill brb
hmmmmm coffee...
only if it is fresh.
oh sprite, last night went so well. the other people loved the movie, and we all had a lovely chat afterwards.
am doing without at the moment. My daily indulgence is 'wiener melange' and the brand I like is not available in our shops atm. Very frustrating.
how odd- words are adding fine, but chat is frozen for me
ah- there it is
no, that is the daily hiccup, Wolvie. When the stats etc are reset. The server reset m akes us lag for a few minutes.
i'm here
The server through a temper tantrum. That's the message I got when I tried to refresh :)
ah- didnt get a red box so thought it was some hiccup on my end
rose, the hiccup ate my comment, lol. I said: how lovely that they enjoyed your pick of the movie, and even more lovely that you had a good chat afterwards.
oh, thanx sprite.
Argh. I am sure I've monkeyed every possible ac4/5 and yet no luck
lol, new word for our babble dictionary: litracy - being well-read doesn't mean you can spell
i have a jo 7/48, 5/24(2) 4/9 and a 4/11- what kind am i missing??
Found it
lol, matty. part of a play + a vowel
lol matty... ac + english thank you
wolvie, another jo7 after the first one
ty rose :-)
another jo5 before your last jo4
i was only missing the one- ty again :-)
rose, did you see the new babble dictonary word?
ta :)
*holding breath* which one?
Right, better hang my laundry. Still have 149 words to find. Many may remain unfound
ttfn matty

*grin*
well, time for me to go back to bed, alas. Am dizzy and my head hurts. Back later. *hugs* to my friends. And to you all a blessed day and a peaceful night.
nite sprite- hope you feel better soon
rest quietly, dear one. let it all get better soon for you. xoxox
off to shower and have breakfast- hagd all :-)
i guess lycra is a branc
brand
my guess al4, JJ
you know i always thought that if you used a brand name interchangeably with the thing itself - like kleenex for tissue - that was a good thing for the brand - supremacy and all that - but i just read an article that said if people do that enough then eventually the company can basically lose its trademark rights. isn't that weird?
ce
y
use a name often enough and it becomes generic, i.e. - aspirin
i mean i figured that for dictionary purposes but i didn't think it would also apply legally
aspirin lost that trademark 20 yrs ago, at least
no, I think more like 40 years ago
wow
If your product name that you personally created is used so much that it becomes a by-word, like Kleenxs, Wellington, Chesterfield, Aspirin and the like, you should have had more than enough time to make your money out of it all and care little when it finally becomes public domain. Morning everyone:)
Kleenex*
They had to do it sooner bojazz they couldn't bayer to wait
yeah i guess they just don't want people turning off the money faucet
lol, morning ruru
bad, ruru, bad, bad...
Ha
not really - pretty good. 7 on a scale on 10
Jeez. Tough morning crowd
6 out of 10. have not had my tea yet:)
ok. 8 - that better?
speaking of 8 does anyone have any?
yup, i do, how many would you like?
((rose))
as many as you've got ha
ruru, what are you doing awake? my goodness, don't you sleep at all?
{{crossy}} have you managed to look at the mom song?
ra8, speed test + good friend. plural for the ra9
What is sleep?
wow i would not have thought of that
ac7, a + bi**cle, two wheeled vehicle + not early. plural for ac8
Ra8 is for bedmates that want more excitement
thanks!
ar8. ar + not well + past tense of to consume
gee some real weird ones
fe8, fe4, noteworthy act + not the truth + first letter of my name
there's no g (just kidding)
ruru, yeah sleep is over-rated...lol
Time enough to sleep when i am dead:)
you'll be dead a lot sooner if you don't sleep
I had three solid hours of sleep last night:)
crossy....you still here?
wow -- tx for all the 8's and the 9!!
;-) une, np's dear
and how is my friend, une, today?
still here rose:)) was just jotting down some notes for a paper I am working on. Sometimes my best ides come to me when I am half-awake and my mind is not cluttered up but the going on of the day:)
with the goings on*
understood crossy.
exactly why i get up earlier than my beloved....no phone, no tv, no chatter..
Doing an analysis paper of two sci-fir short stories of my choice . i have to pick them apart, find out what makes them tick, then write my own story using those methods.
sci-fi
howdy rose -- getting ready to transport teeny rescue pups :-)
of course I went right to the Nebula winners list for my stories:)
ugh...please tell me you aren't using asimov...
nope
guess again..
<<<< this was my thursday passenger :-)
awww, une....wish i was there to adopt...
cute puppy
:-)
not asimov??? yay!!! who then ??
I chose two short stories from Arthur C. Clarke one is called "History lesson" and the other is called "The Star" They are two incredible tales and will rock you right down to your roots when you read them.
crossy...a current writer?
oh no, long dead
he peaked in the 50's
cool!!
both stories can be had for free if you google the title and add pdf in the search
lolol...my darling is checking 'the library'....
Heinlein?
Both stories also appear in several "best of" collections
he is good also, Jeff
Bradbury?
Both stories stop and make you think, long after you have finished with them--the hallmarks of a good story
also a good writer
I like the original version "The Sentinel"
have a copy of both...need to finish great expectations first....nearly there
I have that here beside me as well it was in the final running but historyy lesson won out as my second choice
I went through a long period where I tried to read everything Asimov had written or edited
g'day jeff
the star was always the #1 choice
jeff, my hubby has the fullasimov collection.
* full asimov *
Good, rose. Finish your book, and those two shorts will be a good break for you and you will see what a master of the "zinger ending" can do with a story
xoxox crossy
I envy you if you have never read these 2 before
The first discovery of them is always the best
Such power of the tale in only 4 pages.. it is tough for any writer to come afterwards
my money is on you, crossy.
Just tearing it apart, i have filled 15 pages alone and will have to thin it out for my final paper
aww, ty rose. I am but a soft caressing light from a distant star while writers like these are the sun hamming down on the surface of mercury. I wish to burn like that one day.
crossy...one day you will....and i will be there to put up the parasol....lol
now that is a good name for a sci-fi short 'Putting up the Parasol"
okay...meds have kicked in....xoxox to you all. i hope you en5 the grid...
ty, rose. You have a good rest and a dreamless sleep:)
lolol....crossy...will leave it to you to play with that.
* poof *
Morning all! Could someone clue the CR7 for me please?
I am looking along with you

I think a lot of people learned the Spanish word for chicken from Breaking Bad : D
as in a pillbug
so true LOLOL!!
i thought they learned from mexican restaurant menus
lol. They do not exist up here. tough I must watch breaking bad very soon. It is on my short list
though
Much as it astounds me, there are people who don't eat in Mexican restaurants
looking forward to Better Ca** Saul! :-)
i think i have no sense of humor today . . . I will have to go look in my dresser to see if I left it there
as i said molly, they are just not here
I'll be surprised if Saul's show packs the punch that Breaking Bad did.
i saw a mexican restaurant in canada once but i wasn't brave enough to try it there. . . .
it's just fabulous, crossy! also, just binge watched The Honorable Woman -- also terrific
yet there are dozens of thai places.. go figure
i know molly -- i just miss BB soooo much . . .

I am back after getting red bars of doom.
Kitty jumped on CRossy's laptop.
oops sorry was writing some note in my binder and it ended up on top of they keyboard
I wanted to check your pulse, but couldn't. I am glad you are back.
It is kind of funny; I have this computer and all the word crunching power of Microsoft word, but when it comes to my rough notes and the genesis of my ideas when the tidbits for what I am writing are coming at me fast and furious, I prefer to use a pen and a pad of paper instead.
Got the pi 6/30 still searching for the ar 6/24
The initial act of creation feels more direct and personal to me by using pen and paper
Crossy, faster results!
Then I use word to get it all down nice and neat and fine tune it all:)
lol, one morning to write my paaer and 4 days to edit and polish it:)

Do they run endless repeats of the various Dick Wolf series in the US? Here, it's n the Universal channel and they don't even show them in order.
dick wolf is an author am i right?
dick wolf on the food network?might as well, as relevat as aythig else they show
I think he's just a producer and must have a staff of college students cranking out the shows: Law and Order, Special Victims, etc.
ohh him yes we do get a lot of his shows repeated my husband watches law and order
and some are on more then one channel here as well
ah, I think I found the ca7 that gremlinn was talking about
We watch too many of them but they're frequently the only shows in English and my husband can't understand French enough to watch other stuff
uusue one is a 32 the other is a 36

No idea what a tummy tuck with lycra is. Spandex comes to mind, but not in the grid
ly 5-6 combo?
when I think of spandex I think of Ballet
spandex is usually for people who should never wear it
spandex - lycra both stretch fabrics used for " control tummy "
Yes, controlled bulges are not so pretty
can you imagine the length of the list if anyone ever ran spell check on enable?
especially below the belt :d
especially on cyclists

That same ending that is so prevalent in this grid. oc + first three letters of acetaminophen brand name
That brand name sometimes comes with codeine.
Eaten steak, watched Doctor Who. A few more minutes here, methinks (I know you guys were just agog waiting for my update ;) )
ty molly
* ta da * - thanks for the help :-)
Yes, absolutely breathless.
mm, steak.. beef is so expensive here that that I can no longer recall the taste of it.
Yeah, these weren't cheap. Still, cheaper than eating out. Nice bottle of Rioja
Anything is cheaper than eating out.
off to get some lunch --- no doubt remaining on the outcome of the RyderCup!
hagd everyone :-)
sorry,cat sat on the kayboard
Really?
keyboard
Meow
really
You need a Star Trek Next Gen keyboard - with butt sensors
Indeed
lol, I am already fighting with the cat over his liking to sit on my mouse. Sphincter-mouse is no fun...
Oh yay, more discussion about cats and what is stuck to their butts. Maybe we can move on to cat puke now!!!
I you wish. You can lead off if you like.
if
One day I am sure we shall get around to a topic that you approve of:) and when that fortuitous day comes around, we shall get the molly seal of approval-- and be content:) lol. Sorry, could not resist.
Besides, the cats have not puked today.
I haven't got a cat. My cat died (and was with the ex in any case). I'm sure I could come up with a topic that bothers at least someone though - I have some terrible jokes in my repertoire :)
let em rip:)
slow day in the chog anyways
I do tend to avoid politics and religion though:) People tent to get hot over those two topics.

what is wrong with this freaking site lately.words take forever to show up..very frustrating
I had that problem a few days ago, ivesy. have you cleaned out your temp files etc recently?
A good tidy with ccleaner helps
Stop me if you've heard this...
prob not as well as i should. will run the cc cleaner see if it helps
If not, after that, there are other things that may help
open to suggestions... :)
I use malwarebuyte for virus and adware protection.
malwarebytes*
it is free and very effective
and microsoft security essentials is my default protection
and is also free
A woman goes into a vet with a duck. She says what's wrong with my duck? The vet takes one look at the limp, still form and says "madam, your duck is dead". "But you haven't done any tests or anything - how do you know?" The vet sighs, tells the woman to pop her duck on the examining table and goes into the next room. He shortly returns with a labrador retriever. The dog jumps and puts its front legs on the table, sniffs head and tail, nudges it with a paw and sadly shakes its head. A minute later, the door opens and in walks a tabby cat. The cat jumps onto the table, noses the duck head and tail, puts a paw on its chest and sadly shakes her head. The vet says "Lady, I can assure you, your duck is dead." He hands her the bill. "$650 to tell me my duck is dead, what's that all about?!" "Well, madam, you did insist on the cat scan and lab tests...."

lol!!.. oldie but a goodie!
It's so old, the dead sea, when it was told, was still only sick
A nice clean joke as well. Good for all and offensive to none:)
Oh, I have plenty of dirty and offensive jokes in my brain. I just pick my audience ;)
One day, if you are lucky, I shall trott out my collection of dirty limericks
Dr_G will probably toss me. lol
There once was a man from Racene Who invented a f**king machine Both concave and convex It could serve either sex Entertaining itself in between :)
Toss you?! Ooo errr mrs!
lol, good one. You know of the man from Belgrave I take it?
Nooooo
Or those who sailed aboard the good ship venus?
Those must be saved for another time, alas...
You need to share
Anyhoo - I'm outta here - have a great evening guys
tc mattygroves
That reminds me, I must also do my twice-weekly run of Malwarebytes.
Just as I thought; twas a dirty, dirty machine.
WOW--are we ever having a STORM!! All my tries fell over including the ones behind a huge heavy table! We don't get storms often but when we do, they're awesome.
Hi people
hi....your "tries"??
This game was frustrating me this morning
yucky grid, if you ask me...
Sorry..my trees...out on the balcony.
ah....i thought that's what you meant, but the reference to the heavy table confused me....
Though my tries don't do as well as they used to either (if you get my drift..and, frankly, I don't).
here the weather today was perfect....high 70's, sunny, crystal clear....
We're finally going to have a full week of double-digit weather...hope the 100's don't return.
Beautiful here too a perfect fall day. The trees are turning nice colors.
I miss autumn so much....sigh.
I wish autumn weather would stay until spring.
leaves just starting to turn here on the coast...
That's the good part about living here in the season of Heaven instead of the season of Hell....we stay in the 70's pretty much until March.
where are you, mimi?
okay, I have to go to the list, I still have 113 left.
Phoenix.
ah...a continent away...Maine here....
i am down to 66....thinking of listing...
Big storm blew in from the Pacific and, of course, my balcony faces west!!!
I've never seen anything quite like this...three of my trees were behind a big, heavy table, wedged between it and the balcony wall and they fell over AROUND the table!
pretty bad weather...
The good thin about silk trees instead of real ones is that they are practically indestructible, so they won't be damaged.
ah....that's good...
i took a walk around the harbor on the boardwalk here....beautiful....
So Pen, your leaves in Maine are just starting to turn? Interesting.
Yep...I thought it through. Also, didn't want the whole dirt thing up here on the second floor and worry about watering, etc. These are NO maintenance!
yes, on the coast....peak up north right now...
They started about 2 weeks ago here in Ontario.
Molly, at first glance, your icon looks like an entirely different part of the anatomy.....
Lol
: D
hello, hello
going to make my sandwich....
Hi, Annie!
Hi Mimi :)
Enjoy, pen!
I guess it will be winter for you folks up north in a few weeks. Ugh.
My daughter and her boyfriend were driving when the storm hit and they had to pull over for awhile. Duh...it's not like we didn't see this coming for a couple of hours!
Not looking forward to winter
They did say October would be mild.
I'm not either, Annie. I love the Fall, but it makes me dread what comes next.
I sure am, Annie!!!
Hi all. Can't get the list to load. What are the stats for the Y?
It has been so humid this past month and over 100-degree temps...like living in a sauna.
Never mind. Found it.
hi hpb
yes, Molly....i have seen snow in October many times...ugh is right...
If the list won't load, you need to refresh.
Farmer's Almanac is predicting a cold, snowy winter... :o(
OK---going to go try to calm the cats. Most of this round is over but we're supposed to get more. I frankly LOVE storms because I can just stay home and enjoy them. But we'll surely have flooding again. Have a great Sat. night, everyone, and hugs all around.
bye Mimi, stay dry
bye!

Hello again babbleworld! BAck for my final 40
caeomas
oops
Lurks off to pb
hi jill...
well if you are going to give away a free word, might as well be that one.... ;o)
agreed, pen!
evening all
LOL...one of those medical terms I should, but never see
hello penq and dan2!
hey all
Stiddy!!!
hello friends! Hugs to all
Hi bugs!!
(((bugs hugs)))
I have had a fun day today and now am stalling before washing the kitchen floor. One of the cats brought a bird in and there is bird poop everywhere. sigh
ick on the poop but glad you were able to enjoy the lovely day!
That's why my cats are indoor cats...got tired of their "presents"!
Hello all babblers
hey mcurl. nice to see you here too
love your icon Jilly
LOL...thanks..it's in honor of ruru~ And hello mcurl~ haven't seen you forever!!
oops...brb
I've been around, here and there, lurking etc
trying to keep stiddy on the sane and narrow
neal
neat
uh oh
hey doren!
hey mcurl... sorry I am splitting time between dr who and this.
hi stid...how's school?
I take it you are working at the same school this year. I think that is pretty neal as Doren put it
good luck with keeping me "anywhere" mcurl! LOL
Forgot about you liking Dr. Who! Jordan and her daddy are AVID fans.
I keep you right where I need you! LOL
I am overwhelmed, doren. 3rd grade may be my nemesis. Not the kids, just the age. I am not sure what I am missing, but seems I am already feeling as if I won't get my brain around what they actually need any time soon! LOL
well I guess I know where they are right now, mcurl!
3rd graders are still babies in a way, ; they just don't think so/
i'm sure you'll be fine Stid.
that may be part of it ... as "intermediate" students they are asked to do so many things that developmentally I think a lot of them aren't ready for.
They just need to know you are proud of them and care about them.
You've got the best attitude towards your students Stiddy...you are a fine teacher!
give them a few months and theyll grow into it
at least some of them will.
thanks jilly -- I am blessed to have mcurl there, she is helping me get my head around it all!
thanks doren. Feels strange to be as old as my students' grandparents and be "new" to it all!
Do you get to work in the same classroom?
sometimes, bugs, and then it's really amazing!
I can imagine.
nosy
thanks for that one doren
LOL...I am not alone tonight in free clues...
yw. i should stop chatting
oooh. under 100!
Go stiddy!!
<---!!FW!!
well done Jilly! This one is long one
roily
YAY jilly
oh no...........
I don't think so, bugs
oh! LOL yes!!! *puts lovely hot chicken "shepherd's" pie in PB for bugs*
that sounds lovely. I am eating crackers for supper tonight
crackers only? sounds a bit dry...
TY all...managed to clean house and babble today..rainy day fun!
it is but staves off hunger until the floor gets finished.
help with sa 5/12 please
well done, jilly! I went shopping with Grant's help, and got some cooking done. Hope to get some yardwork done tomorrow, and maybe a quick trip to school to pick up some things to work on. Not going in to do actual planning, though -- I have things "well enough" in hand for a change that anything I do tomorrow can be simply for gravy. :-)
just found it
I can't seem to locate it, red... a small clue?
Hints to all babblers..most of the ones I missed were either plurals or "more of" endings
stiddy, starts like the artificial sugar
*thinking* thanks jilly
got it!
yay!!
I came home Friday and canned tomatoes til midnight. Definitely can tell I am getting arthritis in my hands...dang it all ...not fun
exciting part of the plot... back in a few
Anyone need clues before I leave?
no thanks, jilly -- down to 82 and I might be done for the day.
Well then...I'll be off and on...
I am back in time to say bye to Jilly.
crackers?
I hate to cook
just love to eat
wow
can't wait to cook for you guys then
one thing though bugs
ruru - my Napa friend Larry sent pictures of his backyard covered in hail ! unvelievable
yeah.. it was wild here Friday.. lots of thunder and lightening
no hail here but lots of rain
weather can be an interesting topic these days
hello again. I just finished.
it's weird out here right now.. sunny today
congrats bugs
the grid or the crackers?
ruru, you know I will want more than crackers if you are cooking.
good job bugs
you won't have any crackers that's for sure
I did a test run on some of the food. :D
what are you making? (or it a state secret?)
seared scallops on crispy potatoes with truffle oil
not a state secret I am sure. he just describes the stuff he cooks here and my mouth melts at the thot. I had kids with different food requirement so every meal had to be prepared 3 times. Now I hate to cook
mmmmmm. rice powder on the scallops?
Salt Spring Island Lamb loin chops on wilted greens with Yukon gold / garlic rosemary roasted potatoes, and seasonal buttered veggies
truffles have oil?
i want!
blueberry crème brulee with fruit compote
me too!
and 2005 Michel Lafarge Volnay Clos des Chenes, 2007 Chateau Rayas Chateauneuf du Pape, 2001 Doisy Dane cuvee Extravagance, and Didier Dagueneau 2010 Silex
that's all I can get across the border with taxes
well i know i like the chateauneuf du pape -- and would probably enjoy the others. sounds heavenly
they are heavenly that's for sure.. i'll have to pick bugs up off the floor after the Doisy Dane
I wonder if I can get a spatula through Customs?
I am hope that doesn't happen but I have never had any of those. Do you think Canada doesn't have spatulas or is this a gold plated one...
whatever will peel you off the floor ...doesn't have to be gold plated, but that's a nice touch :D
blueberry crème brulee ... omg
I must be off. I have not yet finished washing the kitchen floor and need more than crackers. Maybe chees....
waves to all. happy Babbling
bye bugs
it's delicious une
