Must be a very quite night for babblers ;)
hi GR.. hi saanich
aww ruru...
hi ruru
hey there rose!
hi ya ru!
g'day saanichcat
ilove finishing early.. so relaxing
that was really early, what are doing for the rest of the night?
harassing all you guys
not a lot....jigsaws maybe
by punning around?
yup
just waiting for my opportunities
I was pretty bad a couple days ago
what kind of jigsaws do you like rose?
pretty much any. i'm on a laptop so about 250 pieces is about my limit.
oh, not the cardboard ones then?
no where to do them. i have several, some up to 4,000 pieces. i like the scenery ones best.
BUT....once all the reno's are done, i will have a room where i could sit and do them as much as i like.
I like those big cardboard ones…but so does my cat
yeah, to eat....lol
i think it's the glue they like
I like to think she's trying to help me!
my dad was so funny. as kids we would all do a huge jigsaw together. everyone stopping to put a piece or 2 in. my dad would quietly pocket a piece, and wait to see the fun when we were searching for it.
of course we never missed it until the jigsaw was nearly finished. he was such a wag.
that's funny!
Hi all :)
g'day liz girl
Hello Liz!
Shrunk grid!!! It's tomorrow I wanted a small grid!
fireworks
WTG CRAYOLA!!!
Congrats, Cray :)
ty

Sleep well, Cray
Clue for the je 6 pls - my last word!

Thanks, Cosmo. That's fireworks for me!
michael jackson
WTG LIZLIN!!!!
morning all
{{hugs}} my dear sprite. how are you this morning?
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend. Am ok. Back hurts and am tired, but I think that is residue of the stupid flu. It will pass. How are you today?
had a quiet day....i can't seem to move on with decisions at the moment. i think it's because of the conciliation hearing
union rep called. she has spoken to lawyer who thinks i will get a settlement on the day. whether it will be enough i don't know.
yes, I think so too, rose. I know that feeling. I hope you can be gentle with yourself and just breathe through the whole thing. I think it is normal to feel like this. It is like a huge exam but worse.
you can always say no, rose. Let's see what they come up with. And let your lawyer and rep make the decisions.
:-) there are so many little things i could be doing, but making the decision to do them is beyond me.
yes exactly. You find yourself staring into space instead of moving and doing. Or doing something that definitely does NOT have any priority... and take hours over it.
as i told the rep i am missing 2 1/2 years of income, i will have on-going costs for docs, and therapies. not to mention the 'pain and suffering'
yes, they will have to come up with a substantial offer, otherwise you'll see them in court.
yup....we will see what the lawyer says anyway.it will be good to have it all over.
*hugs* it is a tough road to travel, my friend. But you will make it. Don't settle for too little just to have it over with, you will hate yourself later on.
brb, call of nature
back
wb darling
sweetie, how are the new meds going?
still wrestling with the loperamid. The other one goes pretty well.
loperamid not helping?
if I take one a day, I become obstipated. If I take one every other day, I still have bouts of diarrhea.
ugh, you poor love.
yeah it is a bit of a struggle. Had physical therapy again yesterday and focusing on that whole pelvic area brings me lots of bad dreams. Not surprising, but pffff such a drag.
as it would, hun.
sometimes I wish I could hide in a little corner, with a soft blanket, and only reappear when it is all over :) Sounds familiar?
:-) it sure does.
and instead, we breathe, straighten our spines and face the music. We are freakin' heroes.
*giggle* my new saying....getting old isn't for cowards...
lol it is something Haz said once: "Aging is not for the timid." Brilliant quote. I still use it.
yeah, i like that too.
well, I am happy that I have finally learned to be more gentle with myself. I recognise that I am struggling and I allow myself to take it easy, leave things undone, ask for help a little earlier. Progress!
fireflies. That was over before it really started, wasn't it.
good for you, hun. i still have problems with being so darn independent. but i am mindful that stress in any shape or form, brings on don's vomiting migraines.
WTG SPRITE!!!
we'll get there, rose, step by step. And without stressing our spouses too much. *hugs* for you, and I hope you will sleep well tonight. Not too much cramps etc.
and to you all out there, a blessed day and a peaceful night. In any order.
{{hugs}} to you too.
And fireworks already
ick. two grids in a row full of fish sperm
nnnnn, said my monkey. I kicked him out of the house.
I see that the usual gaggle of babblers are just as enthused about this game as I am. I shall depart to return when some of the n's are gone.
:)

crossy, Im fine but the weather is not fine, dreary
Any day without 4 feet of snow on the ground is a good day from here on out.
music by the same woman who did Secret Garden -- love that music ..,
Une, My memory is not too great now, I was hoping it wasnt the composer who did The Phanthom of the Opera. What is his name? He did Cats too.
First name is Andrew
andrew lloyd webber
I dont like his productions. The music sounds the same. I know they make tons of money and run forever but he is too commercial. IMHO
Cannot believe I did not see the Hawaiian goose till this close to being finished:(
I just saw it
i loved his shows "back in the day" but yeah, then they got repetitive
especially with all of these n's
I want to see Book of Mormon but the price of tickets are outrageous. Ru saw the play and the price was $400 per seat. Ow!
Road show coming here -- trying to find someone to go with me
I dont get into New York the way I used to but if the price of the show comes down, Im there.
my daughter's going in Montreal in December when she visits a friend for a bday weekend :-)
Sounds like a fun weekend.
ticket prices are really nuts these days . . .
off to munch on Cheerios -- BBL :-)
enjoy. I'll be back later too.
Everyone's leaving?

congrats, and my best wishes to Frank..he is still in my prayers every night
thank you! It will still be a long road to the end of chemo, and we don't really know if it's working yet, probably will have a scan after the next cycle
I hope he is able to tolerate this round of chemo..It is a trip worth taking and will be successful.
I hope so too! It's hard on him but so far he is coping.
Good to hear.
anyway, must run, talk to you later!
I have to get off and reload. Bye.
Bye Annie. Sorry I missed you. And you, Sue.. (USUE.. Ha Ha) Sheesh.
Hi Soods
Ah, Bich:-). How are you?
hi all, what's new
Hey BDG. Nice to see life still exists on Planet Babble. :-)
we continue to be addicted, if that's what you mean 8-)
It's more like Spaceship Babble - not quite big enough to be a planet.
projet, french word for toy, phantom
Seems to have a different meaning too - a plan or proposed design (which is what I thought it meant, being somewhat like "project")
oh, cripe, maybe it does mean project. i'm just a bookdealer, not a french translator 8-)
still a phantom, whatever it is. i need one more P
(three more, actually, but only one from the bottom P)
French for toy seems to be "jouet" - it has letters in common. :)
somewhere areound here i have abook in french about toys. now that you mention jouet, i think both of those words are in the title.
http://gwenfoss.com/bookdetails.asp?bk\nid=4668320

Hello friends. Just want to lament that so many of us are afraid to chat in the chog any more. You are still all my friends and I hope you are all well.
afraid of what?
hurt feeling and getting shut down, I think ruru. Don't you find it odd that there is so little chat when there used to always be visiting and sharing of stories?
I feel it too
omit
omits
no. I don't see that. .it's always pretty quiet around her about this time
oh crap...........
around here that is
I hope that is true because I often come here at this timr
I think it's late for a lot of players at this time
Although there are some players who SHOULD get shut down.. just sayin' :D
Oh I hope that is true. I feel better now.
Just agreeing with you but we probably are thinking of different people. ;)
I think so.. you could yell olley olley oxen free
So, are you doing better now that things have settled down with the earthquake tremors? Frightening experiences can take hold if you let them.
see if that rousts any abused and shut down players
no.. no more quakes lately.. thankfully
We never did that in Canada and have no idea what it means. I only know it has to do with Hide & Seek
we must have had a hundred aftershocks though
I think that's when the person seeking the people gives up after they've found some one
I'm not here a lot anymore. May be for the next few days though. Up at Mayo Clinic where my husband is starting a drug trial.
Oh. We are made of tougher stock. The game is not over until everyone is found.
Hi Kizah. You have been quiet while I have been on. I hope things go well for the two of you with the drug trials.
Hey all.
Thanks!
STID!!! Hello . I was just bemoaning the lack of people in the chog
I saw!
Do you have a moment for chog therapy?
If you need it.... or can I get some?
I hope your husband's drug trial goes well, Kizah.
We can trade... Grant has hand surgery tomorrow. NOTHING like you needed, but still. *worried mama look*
your turn
He's been stage four for seven years. Got to the point where no chemo was working. Then this drug trial came up. We have high hopes.
Oh no! What did he break? I hope it doesn't stiffen up and interfere with his music
Stage 4 for 7 years, Kizah! That man is a fighter! You must be truly loved.
He is. He's very strong and very positive. Has had cancer since he was 38...10 years ago.
Well, stay positive and I and others will send healing thoughts to you both.
geez, kizah! that's amazing! *impressed mama look* what an incredibly strong will he must have. And of course, he has you, which probably helps, too!
Thank you! Here's our page (set to public so you don't have to sign in or like it or anything): https://www.facebook.com/TeamZieser
Grant sliced the back of his right hand open on Monday at work. Saw a surgeon today about the tendons that were impacted, and he needs to have surgery to be certain they are intact (and if they aren't fix it). He will be out of work for a while... which means he can come help in my classroom some *trying to see the silver lining*
How about you, Bugs? *worried friend look*
Kizah, just posted on your page, you're having quite an "adventure" as we call it in our family!
I am well stid but just going through a period where too many people I care about are either dying or getting horrible diagnoses. Both Mr Bugs and I are well and have even lost weight!
One of my favorite quotes: http://www.cafepress.com/labelmakers.6\n45403811
Sorry for all the links though.
Kind of nervous tonight.
I am glad you two at least are okay! Sorry for your sorrows.
Can anyone clue the second li 5/12 and the last li 4/5? I must be blind...or too weary!
oh -- grid! LOL hold on...
hm. down to 66, I have a plural li 5/12 after an li 6/21, but not sure if its the first or the second one
the second li 5 I have is a plural (like the first)
It's the first one
the li 4/5 at the end of my list is a slurring of speech, usually with "s"
and that's all the L words...
Thanks! I'll look.
I was just at Facebook too Stid and see that you are taking a day off tomorrow.
day off? wth?
yep. I thought about taking today off (also Tuesday when he had his first follow up from the ER), but then decided to wait in case I wanted to be at the hospital for the surgery.
teachers are such slackers :D
Fortunately, we know the hospital well. It's where Matthew spent the first two weeks of his life in the NICU.
Thanks, Stid. Fireworks at last!
;-P (directed at BFF ruru)
YAY Naches girl!
BFF?
big fart face?
BIg foolish fool?
probably the fart face one
Big Fumbling futzer
ROFL ******happy hugs LA******
that's the one, ruru -- futzer, for sure. Always wondered how to spell that one!
hiya stiddy
I like it too
i don't always comment on fb, but i'm so very glad to see you enjoying your job
well I'll take that over BFH
I never comment on Facebook
I do love my job, LA. So many things I am going to be working on for a Loooooong time, but that's okay. I think most of the worries I had at the beginning have already worked themselves out!
LOL ruru -- you old fogie. I could send you an invite to "ello" if you want?
what's ello?
proj
Bill Cosby out of J words?
it's a less-invasive social network. Atalante sent me an invite. :-)
*bugs is desperate*
sorry. Mr Bugs just came in to show me the head cheese he is making and I choked.
ewwwww
and I am desperate. I can't find 3 pr 4 words
mr. bugs can go eat that in the garage
I bet it's going to taste good, though... what animal(s) is he using?
I have more than three PR words, would be happy to share. I am down to 16 now.
stid do you feel shut down here?
I am with ruru on the eating of it stid. He is using all the good white meat that I love from the turkey since he only likes dark meat. I have to get what I want before he starts creating. BBS
well I can find 7 ways to spell pren but it is not a word....
i'm not sure exactly what headcheese is but my dad ate it .. and it always smelled awful and looked disgusting
i prefer the german recipe with pork myself....
There are 7 pr words
what is headcheese bj?
i thought it meant showing her what was in the kleenex after a sneeze
ewwww LA
*barfs*
basically it's spiced meat in a gelatin
haha i thought it was a bit rude of mr. bugs
that is one cute dog in your icon LA
one of my neighbors has the cutest Lab ever
her name is moxie
Labs
referring to your earlier conversation, ruru? Yes, sometimes I do and I avoid "speaking" in the chog when certain folks are in evidence. But mostly I am absent because when I am teaching I don't have the time and energy to babble.
aww.. she's really cute
were you going to get a lab? or am i mixing you up with someone else?
oh.. "certain folks?"
Same here Sturdy
I am getting a lab.. when I buy my new home
wait wait! ((((((((BJ)))))))) hello! Miss you!
Bleh Stiddy*
i'm going to try to get a guide dog reject
yes, but not you. You're too much of a softie to shut me down (or up, apparently).
hello meliae!
ah ok.
haha, so one that gets lost all the time?
I like headcheese, just can't eat it anymore because of the allergies.
the gelatin comes from the stock bones it's boiled with, and the head is a very large bone. Entire thing has the consistency of cheese. Folks today are too squeamish about what they eat. Folks 2000 years ago ate anything they could get their hands on and didn't sneer at its provenance.
ruru, that sounds like a nice way to find a wonderful companion animal.
I'd get allergies just thinking about eating headcheese ewwwwwwww
yes.. I worked with Guide Dogs for the Blind for a long time.. hoping it will pay off and land me a nice buddy for Dylan
LOL poor, poor delicate ruru... with the right wine, headcheese would be a real delicacy.
basically its a way to use up scraps, and to provide something that is spoil resistant without refrigeration.
Like I said BJ.. my dad would make it and it would turn my stomach.. it smelled awful
He needs to change, or add, some spices then.... but then my icicle pickles can clear the house when they are boiling up....
My dad would eat anything.. it totally grossed me out as a kid
and when i make queso con chile, ouch. the fumes... I know how the people complaining abour Sriracha feel. My kitchen can be just as foul.....
LeslieAnn, what you thought was head chease is eactly what I think when I hear the name so I told Mr Bugs and he laughed as well! He is i Finn who grew up poor and he will eat anything gross and slimy
?? icicle pickles? I know you live in the frozen wastelands of the north, BJ, but still!! *astonished mama look*
They are called icicle pickles because they are boiled 10 times to the point of transparency, then green food coloring is added to them so they look like big chunks of deep green sea ice....
Bugs, does he go for lutefisk?
well that is even more astonishing than I was imagining... WOW. I bet they are an interesting texture, too. :-)
*this is like a weird food reality show tonight*
I can't eat slimy things
oh, indeed. very crispy. and very acidic as well as very sweet. sandwich with sliced roast beef and a few of them is just heaven....
*feels sorry for Bugs now*
fireworks yay!
oh gee... *trying to not drool* sounds DELICIOUS, BJ
YAY kimber!
Brandyjack, he says he doesn't like lutefisk. I didn't know because it is not in my limited repertoire of recipies
oh no, ruru -- mr. bugs is amazing and kind...
it's fermented scandinavian fish, bugs. I have never been brave enough to try it.
*wonders if there's a harpefisk?*
well he eats green meat but I don't think it has a name. I am glad he call a halt somewhere!
fermented in lye no less. lye + fat = soap. no way i would ever eat it...
I hear if you don't cook harpefisk right.. it gets stringy
some people pluck the bones
rofl ruru! too funny!
ruru you never give up
me.. ? no.. never
I eat olives and they go through lye.. I can't imagine what fish would taste like treated with lye
black olives or green stuffed olives?
all kinds. I love olives
I love black more I guess
never met an olive i didn't like...

in Berkeley BJ they don't call them Black Olives though
well that is a fact I could have lived without but I will still eat them
Kalamata or black, still taste the same. as long as they aren't pitted... hate soggy olives. just gross.
