WTG DEE!!!
Hi Rose and hugs - how did everything go today?
we've decided to go for all or nothing. i am going before a medical board for an absolute final decision.
ty rose, flosey hi rose!!
Sounds like a good idea to me - scary but good. At least that will bring an end to it all.
when is the date of that hearing?
congrats dee!
lawyer is very optimistic. he says there is too much evidence pointing to my injury not having been resolved.
that is great news
in about 6 weeks dee. waiting to he4 the exact date
fantastic
LOL! He says that does he?? Fairly obvious I'd've thought!
So are you and Don going to take that much needed break now?
6 day break already booked in Gippsland. we will venture further abroad when this is sorted.
Really happy you've got that sorted - when are you off?
2 nights in Marlo, a night in Orbost, then 3 nights in Lakes Entrance.
Sounds wonderful - you both need that break so much. Very happy for you.
sounds fabulous!
with my luck, right when the appointment with nedics is booked. lol
lol!
ugh...medics
So they'll have to wait a week until you're back.
dee, these are all seaside towns on our east coast.
how beautiful!
well, all I need to get going... hugs to all!! ((rose))) (((liz)))
Hugs, Dee and sleep well.
sweet dreams dee
fw and off to bed, goodnight all
Sleep well Flosey and congrats.
thanks Liz
WTG FLOSEY!!! hope you have a lovely sleep.
!5 left for later. Have a good evening, Rose and hugs
you too. liz girl
Hi all. I had breakfast with Marc Freeman this morning. I haven't seen him in a gazillion years and had forgotten how handsome he is !
weeps
nice dianne. and hello
that moved seeing him Dianne?
Sorry
has anyone else noticed there were lots of wed. words in thursday's grid...and lots of thursday's words in today's grid?
It was so nice to see him and catch up all the people we have in common.
yes rolin, i quite often find words from the previous day's grid in the current one.
good morning all
{{hugs}} sprite.how was your night and how was yesterday?
hello my dear rose. Mwah, could have been a lot better. Still in pain. How about you?
*gently holds sprite* and kisses it better.
thanks :D
good consult with lawyer. have decided to go before a medical board. it is all or nothing. lawyer is quite positive that the evidence is overwhelmingly in my favour.
wow rose! Am so proud of you. Yeah, stressful, but once it is behind you... a medical board should see how things are, for sure. And how majorly your employer and that doctor have messed up.
the board is just two doctors. a GP and an orthopaedic surgeon. it can reinstate my weekly payments, plus all medical costs, plus a compensation payment for all i have been through.
oh wow. I wish you could get that without going through this extra stress thing, but it sounds doable. And worth it. If they have half a brain between them, they will see how mistreated you have been and how you deserve compensation.
nature calling. will brb
ok sweetie
and i am back
wb rose. So how are you feeling about it all?
i'm okay sprite. at least it will be settled once and for all. if the board decides in my favour, workcover have to bide by that decision. there is noappeal.
ok, that is a good thing, in all honesty. You need to get this behind you. Here's to hoping that board will consist of reasonable people.
any idea how long this is gonna take?
hopefully in about 6 weeks...and then don and i can begin to live again.
and it is just the one session.
indeed. It definitely takes its toll on you both. Well, the end is near, my darling. *hugs*
so what's on your agenda for today?
busy day. My day to shop groceries and cook.
yeah, i did our shopping today on the way home from the lawyer's.
taxing, rose
i could ha4ly walk when we got home. but it is done for another week.
poor rose *healing vibes your way*
and back at you sweetie. what a couple of old crocks we are...lol
lol indeed. We will end up as old ladies who always nag about their aches, lol.
don't know about you, but pain makes me feel 20 years older. oh, and my left hip was hurting when i woke up this morning. i was still lying on my right side. i am gonna have to get this sorry bag of bones into my doctor's and ask for an x-ray.
aw :( That sucks, sweetie. Yes, pain is debilitating in so many ways. And it eats up your energy faster than anything.
are you enjoying the grid, sprite? i thought it was pretty good.
a bit easy. When I slowed down, I only had 30 left, lol. But good words.
*nodding head* that's what i found.
yay, re words done
i was stunned when i found all the u words....lol
lol have we been babbling for too long? Nahhhh neveer.
ahem...that was before i listed.... just pat gently, feeling a little fragile.
*warm hug*
ah....nice....
ugh...state elections are for the day we are travelling home from our holiday. * sigh *. don looking it up now...we may have to absentee vote.
your holiday is more important, rose. It won't hurt if for once you don't vote.
um, sprite...it is compulsory here in australia.
oh? Ok, didn't know that. Here, that would be considered the opposite of democracy.
i haven't an opinion on that. i have grown up with this law, and accept it.
maybe because our population is considered small compared to countries like the UK or US of A?
dutch people are headstrong, lol. Very much so.
and that is one of their endearing qualities, sprite.
*giggles* Don't know about that. But it is the way we are wired. Freedom above all.
one always knows exactly where you are with a dutch person. i cannot stand people tiptoeing around. it makes me gag
lol, true. We are definitely not known for our tact.
maybe that is why we get along so famously.
possible, grin. That, and sharing a soul.
yeah....{{hugs}} and heaps of xxxxx
{{{{{{{rose}}}}}}} it is amazing, how close we are without having met.
fireflies. Last word was the last word, lol.
exactly, sprite. oh my...someone pass me the tissues....i haven't been this close to another woman since robyn died.
exactly, sprite. oh my...someone pass me the tissues....i haven't been this close to another woman since robyn died.
WTG SPRITE!!!
oh my dear friend... it can hit so suddenly, can't it, missing a person. *hugs*
please don't push yourself dearest. try and think of a one pan meal for dinner.
sprite, she and i sh6 so much....people will never understand just how close we were.
and you take care and have a good night of sleep, rose... *hugs* and lots of love.
and to you all out there, a blessed day and a peaceful night
{{hugs}} and lots of love sprite
good morning, in for a quickie (as the bishop said to the showgirl lol)
*giggle* g'day ruby
bad nel
It is a 'sewagey' grid this morning, ruby. Hi, everyone
herd
So when are you coming to Europe? As the year winds down, I think of Spring
Hi Jaxx
and Jaxx arrives with her usual free word
g'day jaxx
youdon't hear me complaining!
Bonjour, Rose
oooohhhhh, i love it when you speak french.
That is about my all my vocab. lol
ruby, looking at next june/july.
you m be dsorry you said that, Roie, I'll make you haul out your high school French when you're here
(I can speak French but can't type for sh**)
ugh, probably not a good idea, ruby. roflol...although i was able to make myself understood on Lifu.
Good word for today's grid!
off I go see you later!
later, maybe, ruby. xoxox
That was short and sweet ruby. Bye for now
keep wanting to type slurp
How are you doing, Rose?
jaxx, doing okay thanx hun. going before a medical board for a final decision re my injury. in about 6 weeks. i will bide by their decision.
and you? how are you coping?
Long wait, though, Rose.
jaxx, even longer if i go to court. that would be 6-8 months. * sigh *
The news is good. Ashley has gone back to his mum for good. jessica has been removed from the care programme and described as 'a delightful student' and I have my bed back
as you say, good news. yay!!!
I, though, am definitely regressing. I decided to stand on my bed to reach something down from the top of a wardrobe. Now I had forgotten that I am 68, not 21 any more so muggins jumped off the bed. I hit the floor , tipped forward, and grabbed at a stepladder (that I should have used, stupid cow) and fell head first into another wardrobe hitting my head in the process. I must have a hard head because that was OK but my right arm bore the brunt of it. Still hurts this morning.
oh, jaxx. you poor darling! yeah, i know...the frustration of when our bodies start to let us down...*sigh*
any bruises?
I think it is my mind that is going - why stand on the bed in the first place.
darn!!! dinner ready...just as this conversation was getting interesting.
No bruises that show, only to my dignity. HeeHee
hugs jaxx carefully..
Thanks, Rose. Go and get your dinner. Enjoy your meal and thanks for not laughing,
good morning everyone:)
and back...jaxx, would never laugh at your hurt dignity.
g'day crossy
((rose))
Morning people.
howdy, sukee
{{sukee}}
Think i am taking a break from Facebook. It's getting too annoying.
sukee. hubby has disconnected himself from facebook. and i never use my account. too many snags and snares.
So many negative people too.
I used to be on it every day up until a year or so ago. Now I am hardly ever on it.
FB has becone too "big brotherish" for my liking
Not the people I follow but on news stories, everything becomes controversial and argumentative
That is true, I was searching for something off Facebook and now all the ads I see are for that.
The ads on Facebook that is.
I starting hating that I knew that I was their product and they were gleaning every scrap of info about me they could and basically selling me to advertisers.
When you can't sleep due to some stupid argument on Facebook you know it's time to take a break :)
Google is guilty of that as well but I cannot stand some of the alternative search engines with greater privacy
indeed, sukee
That is one think about using Tunnel Bear, when it is on I can browse anonymously.
yes, it is a lot like the Tor browser in that regard
though that also has its own issues
Oh, and I figured out the extra network connection on my computer, it was Tunnelbear. So no evil hackers :)
Well, Boo is off to the vet this afternoon. He has been having some stomach issues and he does need a check up.
ahh, very good then
poor boo:(
must be a dog:)
He also seems to not want to poop and has been going in inappropriate places. He may have gotten a slight infection down there but he does not seem to have a fever. But, he was more like himself last night and cuddy.
Me and You and A Dog Named boo by Lobo :)
it is worth a check-up
Yes, I loved that song. But Boo came with that name. I have added Radley to his name.
but get tea going and wake my better half up, brb
must*
please can i have a clue for any of the 7s
ar7/28 to be behind on payment
thank you - I thought \i had already tried that one
good morning, welcome back, juniper
morning Annie - hate to clue and run, but I'm on my way out the door (should have been ten minutes ago, but was down to eight words). See you all some other time, I hope!
bye!
Morning those I missed
Ty for the ar clue
boo
tough crowd this morning
Good morning.
hello sukee one of the many babblers I know not anymore
remember me, nutty?
there's my annie! a reply I first typed into the grid
nutty, are you still in Pennsylvania?
sure am, for at least five years id say
you doing okay?
doing great! I lost my job in the big government contract investigations scandal, but I found a better job.
and no, I've done nothing scandalous of course
and I bet it pays much more, I bet. Good to hear no scandals.
not up front, but with the bonus, yes
Crossy is back:))
my keyboards is going crazy...I type, nothing shows, then it all comes up at once.
morning, crossy
ha! keyboard or the computer can't keep up with your brilliance?
crossy my lord *deep bow*
Howdy, Annie:)
I guess that's it.
I guess that's it.
Don't bow, just throw money:)
shoot, I can't throw money, all I can throw is a debit card
Well, I'm off to the gym. Depressing, it's still dark out.
work out for me too please
A debit card is fine as long as there is the green to back it up in the bank vault:)
Sure
Not going to get any better, sukee:(
Evan, that is the fattest turkey I have ever seen. It's a wonder those skinny legs will carry it.
hmmm, enough to buy groceries and take a chunk out of the credit card, that's all I view the rest as anyway
Those January days where it is dark till 08:30 am and the sun is gone at 5 pm:(
lol molly, the formatting skewed him a little, he was a big tom, one of two that spent at least an hour intimidating each other in my yard
then the in-laws requested a repeat performance for their visit. wouldn't you know at 7am I was waking them up telling them that "as per their request I have arranged a repeat performance"
Well, they have to get all that alpha male behavior out before someone makes them Thanksgiving dinner.
aw man! blue screen of death on the work computer!
nasty! Have not seen one of those in years:(
and in the background, the soothing rumble of a fracking well being burned off
Ahh... the melodious sound of the land being destroyed.
Ah, peaceful country life
and all that fresh water contaminated:)
bucolic
But I do not want to get into that or I will end up ranting about the Embridge pipeline
Ooo Annie, great descriptive.
the thought of fracking makes my hair frizz. so far, new york has been spared.
I feel you crossy. I signed my rights over because all the large farms around have. so basically, if something like my water was destroyed I'd have funds to fix what they would claim was not their fault.
that's because you don't have Corbett for a governer annie, who has had great financial gain from this through his wife
they do not need your land anyways; they will just slant-drill from two properties over and be under your home in a flash
I wish boils on him and his wife
brb
wish granted, he looks like one
Morning, everyone! I have news (Annie, you already know about this). My daughter got married Wed.
Long live Jambi
oooooooooooooooooh, LOVE is in the air
Congrats Mimi!
(9mimi))
Thanks. They have been together 3 years, living together for 2 and are 28 and 30 years old. They bought a house Monday and needed both incomes to qualify for the loan, so just went ahead and got married. My daughter is a very practical person. They're planning to have an actual wedding a bit later and he's now shopping for an "engagement ring for her." She's MY daughter, all right...doing things backwards! Buy a house...get married...get engaged.
Yaa for mimi's daughter!
LOL!
Mimi, at least you don't have to add, had a baby
I was the first one my daughter told...that makes me happy. They're trying to not tell anyone yet so I'm sworn to secrecy...but since none of you know anyone they know, this is acceptable.
Bichon, their new house has 4 bedrooms and I told her not to be too eager to fill those up with babies too soon. She said not to worry...that's not in the plan for quite some time.
large house for a first home:)
4 bedrooms, so at least 2500 sq ft
good morning
Howdy, trif
Someone's kitty is hunting in my backyard....I love to see animals doing their natural thing!
shreee
Hi Trif....all hell breaking loose here this morning. :(
oh dear.....whats up?
It is a beautiful house, too. They got a great deal and all appliances including washer/dryer are included, the owners are paying all closing costs and providing a warranty! And...get this...they're getting a VA loan since he was a Marine and their interest rate is locked in at 3.8%!
Hi, Trif!
very nice!
Zack hasn't gone to school yet...need to get mom and Dyl up...and I have my MRI this moring, so I have to be on time. Ugh.
not having to pay closing is a great bonus
car is a busy girl:(
I am very impressed with mu daughter's business sense and her capacity to handle money.
It is when I am busy that everyone else mucks up my schedule.
Mimi is a proud mama!
Good luck with the MRI, car. Do let us know the results.
i will
hello eveybody
HI Ruby
MRI's have become a quick thing now anyways. Once upon a time an MRI appt used to eat up half a day, but now they get me in and out in less than 30 minutes:)
((ruby))
Yes, I am. After such a terrible time in the past, I'm breathing a sigh of relief now and hoping I can put all that behind me. Moving forward is definitely my direction of choice!
Let us know the second you find that perfect cabin in the mountains, mimi!
oh, well said, mimi good for you!
I remember when I first saw MRI technology...since I work in that field. The pictures are so amazing that even I could read the results!
It is lying down on the hard table and not being able to move that is worrying me...my back will knot up and I will then be very uncomfortable. <sigh> But I have to do it.
come read mine today, Mimi!
OK...I'm off. HAGD all!
It will do my heart good to see you comfortable and not roasting in the city
tc car and good luck
Have them give you the "cushion" they have to put under your knees, car...you'll be more comfortable.
Thank you, crossy. Definitely something to look forward to. Then...I can invite everyone to come and visit!
I'm not sure I know the difference between an MRI (IRM, here) and a "scanneur*. Which one has the nice BOOM noise which always puts me to sleep
I have issues with the MRI table because I have to be flat on my back for them to get a clear image of my neck. No head elevation allowed! I end up choking on my own saliva half the time.
I like being closed in and still
The mri is magnetic imaging and you lay inside the Doughnut and the cameras rotate around you bombarding you with magnetism
I hope they keep improving them so that one day that awful, loud crack, crack goes away!
Crossy is a tad claustrophobic
Aftr my doctor visit yesterday, I think that's what she said I need for my unexamined chest pain -- either a torn muscle or (no no no) much worse
At least they now have "open" MRI as an option instead of being totally enclosed. That's very difficult for many people.
We have a brand new one( our first one was old equipment from Toronto general and was noisy).
unexplained*
you Been wresting with those young Parisian men again, ruby?
The cost needs to come down as well.
you betcha, crossy!
We do not pay. crossy hugs his universal health care card... well, we do pay, at tax time
((ruby)) You show 'em how it's done, girl!!!
I'm old, but I still remember.....
All our "Sin" taxes are much higher than yours in the states:(
I hear 'ya...I saw my male neighbor across the courtyard naked a couple of months ago...nostalgia.
We actually pay an annual TV tx
Gasoline is down a tad this week though. It is $1.25 per litre x 4.11= the old Canadian gallon, so around $5/gal
here it's about $2/liter
and you still see locals driving around in SUV's to pick up their kids at the local school. Duh
Our gas in Arizona has come down to around $3/gal and still dropping.
I paid 3.64 a gallon yesterday
3.14
I did see one shop that charged 2.99, but only if you paid cash
{{annie}} I mailed an assorted envelope addressed to Bobby but mostly for you -- "Cigar"
morning, Owl
((ruby)) thanks a bunch.
morning
I hope he won't be disappointed as I didndt have time to accumulate much for him
Have a couple of days off and planning to write and write. I want to get this book finished by the end of the year.
time to get going. house not ready for company. company delayed because of deer contact.
oh dear. Deer.
must finish tidying up, bake cookies and get a mani.
deer contact sounds more dangerous than dear contact -- or maybe not.
its homecoming and will miss most of today's events, car to be r ented, etc
Yep, ruby...dear contact can be more subtle in its damage...
uh huh
and finish the grid, of course.
i have come to hate them. it's too early to have rut in the south...but a buck and an mx-5 do not mix well. :(
i fear it will be totalled, that would be a hardship at this time.
I'm stuck on the left-had p and the d beneath it. Any help, pls?
That's a tough location, ruby...I don't have those either.
I have a pr5.12 from that p, and the d below it I have a ....
the Ds are 4 &5 latin for hard, think du4 ble
du 4.6 and du5.14

hello sue et al :-)
stats for a 7 please

ar7---when you don't pay your mortgage or rent you are in ar7
Ruby, the amount of people driving around in gas guzzling vehicles that they don't need, astounds me.

Hey all. Im Walter. Sammysmom is my mom. She is in the hospital. She has some kind of infection. They have her on antibiotics. I pray she will be home tomorow. Please say a prayer for her.
Walter, my prayers are with you and your mom. take care.

Hi, kids! Happy Friday!
***** Lonely *****
(judi)
Only the lonely,,,dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah
Thank you. I thought it was unusually quiet this a.m. You lurkers!
not quite, I rhyme...try workers
oh no, oh no, this rhyming game will make me go berserkers
Look away, JJ. Look away. Oh wait, that rhymes. Sorry.
Oh no, this game I can't abide, it seems just like The Princess Bride
Babble-rap
LOL, Molly. Poor JJ.
We could panic talk about ebola if you like. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!
Judi says to look away..and molly compares it to Anne Hathaway
Uhg. Don't get me started, Molly.
For the gabillionth time, Anne Hathaway is in THE PRINCESS DIARIES not THE PRINCESS BRIDE
Peincess schmincess
Perhaps Anne Hathaway is Ruru's dream princess bride?
No wonder you think The Princess Bride is a chick flick
Princesee schmincess i mean
Ewwwww judi
And Julia Roberts was the Runaway Bride.
What if Anne Hathaway and Julia Roberts were in a movie together and nobody came?
(to watch it)
<<<<<< Really tired of my new icon not showing up. I did change it. If anyone cares.
I see it. Refresh, refresh.
I have refreshed. And showered. And spritzed perfume. To no avail.
You need to clean out that cookie filled cache then.
Sneezes
*clutches cookies possessively*
And that was not a personal hygiene comment
*snort*
Oh boy
Now I'm thinking of the Michael Jordan, Saturday Night Live commercial where the kids says "Mr. Jordan, do you ever get that not so fresh feeling?"
Plotzing on how to get to cookie folder.
Google search HOW TO CLEAN YOUR CACHE
I got it. Can feel my sugar levels dropping already!
Glad that was cache not crotch
Anyone who needs to Google search that needs more help than is available here
Since it already can be crotchety around here :D
Just remember Ru, you're good enough, you're smart enough, and doggone it, people like you.
is this grid as hard as it is starting as we put in more words?
Okay. Re-booted. Changed cookie setting. All cookies have been vomitted by computer. Now the correct icon is showing.
judi do that a few times a day if you are on computer a lot.
Work intrudes. BBL.

Hi All!
Hi Nutty. How are you and the puppy doing today?
hi hego
he's a little needy today, keeps coming in and trying to distract me from work
TY, MLFAN. My monkey found it. Hi Hego
hi evan
yw scrab
Scrabs, loved the story of Mom's doctor visit.
Aren't all dogs needy of attention?
multi-hulled sailing vessel pr 5 16 according to wikipedia
just like cats scrab
Sounds familiar.
Thanks, Hego. It was both a funny and trying day so I thought I would share the details.
mine are needy for affection 24/7
any clues for any of the fa 6's?
Been there, done that.
hey melf and anyone else's greetings i missed. and yes scrabs. but i have the cutest needy one ;-)
I have an fa6/33 = past tense of fa4/8
Nutty, I had never known there were Silver Labs before I saw your pup.
thanks scrab i will work on it
silver labs???
scrabsy, if you were a breed purist you be yelling at me telling me there's no such thing, that there must be a cross with weimer, that he's a dilute chocolate or that he'll never compete.
however i have my akc papers right here, and yes, they will only register him chocolate. poodle, let me grab a photo and toss it on my profile.
I ponder getting a dog someday, when I am down to one bunny. I think about a Golden Retriever or Border Collie although I should rescue a mutt.
A chocolate poodle I understand, but what is a silver Lab
Goldens are lovely.
if i had a fence I'd have taken a rescue in a heartbeat
Geez, look what I just found:
Definitely a rescue dog Scrabs. Way too many pure breeds who get turned in becaused people can't deal with behavior problems
http://www.notosilverlabradors.com/mai\nn.html
golden retrievers are such great dogs always have been
I have two rescue Bichons and have no fence. I walk them
Ruru loves his golden to pieces.
okay, a pic of graphite is in my profile
i used to have a great pyrenese also a wonderful dog
link didn't work scrabsy
and goldens are fantastic
There are many website devoted to the "myth" of the Silver Lab.
cute dog
yes yes, and the red fox is a fake color too. the breed purists are nutso i tell you. and thanks mlfan
I have admired Great Pyrenees too.....someday...maybe. I would like a hiking partner when another friend is not around.
yw evan.. or if you can find one and want a small dog a half poodle half cairn terrier are nice dogs
That would be great for you Scrabs.
looked up silver lab - cool looking dogs!

Hello everybody! I just had a dumb question for scrabbler. One of these days, I'll catch her
if you had gotten here a few minutes earlier ruby:)
she was going for a hike
It is so beautiful here now. About 80 degrees, dry and sunny. At night it's been In the 50's. After our poopy summer, we deserve this glorious fall!
I think life would be easy with a non-shedding dog but I've made my commitment and I don't regret it for a second.
that is awsesome ruby

Fireworks! Hi, Babblers, it's been a while. Busy life, yada yada. But so easy to play on my phone now, can take quick brain breaks to destress. How y'all doin?
ooooooooooh jbs!
Hello babbleworld!
Hiyaaaa Jilly!!
And very Happy Anniversary!!
howdy, JB glad you could come back and join us in the madness:)
hi Crossy
howdy, hego:)
howdy, Jilly
Hello crossy de4/5! How are you doing
Hego...thank you!
Sorry, had to restart computer after backup done.
yw :)
doing Fine, Jilly. Have not won the lottery, but nobody is suing me either:)
:D
No lottery here, but getting lots of hours at work this week...
Don't work too hard, now.
Jilly... A hearty congratulations on your wedding anniversary. A wonderful achievement! And hi everybody else:-). Happy Friday!
And right back at you, Soodle!
LOL..love the semi appreciation I get. Three nurses out for various reasons, I step up to help and then get warned "Don't go into overtime...."
hi all, just back from the junior league thrift shop. I saw a really nice set of dishes and cups. service for 4 and it was a beautiful periwinkle color. for only 20 dollars. there were at least 16 pieces. I did not buy it since I do not need it here. but I will go back in a few days. if it is still there I will buy it and store it somewhere.
TY soodle!
Happy Anniversary, Jilly.
TY peri!
Hi Peri
Happy anniversary, Jilly!!
My beloved and I are a decade behind the two of you at 21 years and counting:)
TY crossy! We are going out to dinner, then see Young Frankenstein. Tomorrow we are doing an overnight trip to Missoula...where it all began. But think we'll have dinner at a local restaurant rather than the university dining hall where we met..LOL
Jilly, I love yout "flin" thing.
Sounds great!!
I love Gene Wilder:)
Well, FLIN has worked for 33 years!
Its actually being performed live by our local theatre. Have several friends in it.
*Young Frankenstein that is
sounds great, jilly!! have fun :-)
put the candle back . . .
Cool!
ty and hello une
Fire lit, Shawshank Redemption on TV, wine chilled, reasonable Babble grid. Tis a good Friday night, to be sure.
enjoy, soodle :-)
Great Movie!!
*clinks glass in agreement
And even better book.
clink!
agreed hego-- and what a cast!!
Just saw "Gone Girl"
Great movie!
How was it hego?
re6/21?
hello friends
It was very good!
Hi Trif.
hey trif :-)
giving myself a few minutes to babble before transitioning to needed friday chores
re6/21 please?
Hey Trif :-). Hego, what did you think of 'Gone Girl'? I really enjoyed the book...
don't have it Une.
It was just like the book.
Very, very good.
The girl was excellent.
re6/21...play time at school
ty Molly
tx!!
I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie. And thanks for the re6/21 Molls. :-)
ty molly
1 second flash of Ben in full frontal shot.
*covers eyes*
If you blink, you'll miss it.
That's what all the girls say
Lol, Hego. Could you pinpoint the exact time in the movie? (Camera phone primed & ready...)
When they get in the shower.
It's official. Soodle keeps junk pictures on her phone.
lol Molly!
Psst...anyone wanna buy a dodgy picture...
uh, oh!
Dang, getting the red box...brb going to reboot
I had a really lovely chat with our Rubyfoo on the phone last night. I just love her to bits!
BAck...how did the MD appointment go...and how is she?
That's so nice Soodle.
wow -- what fun, soodle!
Yeah - no surprises at the MD appointment, Jill. No doubt, in the fullness of time, Rubes will fill everybody in.
Hmm...we went from pictures of junk to Ruby...hmmm
I think we walk the same path.... :( but I have great support
Hoping Ruby is okay....
and Jilly.
I feel bad for Ruby that she is dealing with this all by herself.
It's surprising how fast one finds out true friends
It's the reason I never would move far from my folks, no matter how great the spot.
I hope she has some Jilly.
Cannot imagine being that far away.
Well, 41 left. Quick break...bbs
Jilly you have a great group out there.
Bye...
It's unfortunate that most people are only "friends" when it's convenient or beneficial to them.
Sometimes people can surprise you, though.
I don't believe I'm breaking any confidences when I say that Ruby's dogs are her lifeline. They are a constant source of joy to her. A
them and her garden keep her going.
Oh yes!! Her garden! God!! I wish I had something I was as passionate about. My 'garden' is a stress factor in my life.
mine too. :)
When I say 'my garden' I actually mean Jurrasic Park.
Bullying my husband to weed is my biggest effort in that area.
lol Soodle.
Things do grow quickly on the auld sod.
I knew it. Spread the word. Hego is a bully. : D
Quickly?? Good grief..
:O
All that water does it.
At least you have a bully-ee, Hego! I have nobody to nag/cajole/bully. And the wilderness that is my garden is right there in my face every time I come home..
Pull the curtains. :)
Why do you think I remarried, Soodle.
Lol, Hego!!
If I ever remarry, it will be to a man with a ride-on mower & a green thumb!
Being widowed made me very tough. I no longer sweat the small stuff.
Or one who bullies easily.
Lol, Hego. I hear you. After I suddenly became single, I had to renew my car insurance. I punched the air when I completed it! I had never in my life done something like that before. (I have had less success with various DIY jobs)
But it's fun to try.
Hmm. Renewing insurance is fun. Bleeding radiators - less fun. Taking the garbage out - less fun. Seeking out the source of the leaky roof - less fun. :-/
Hmmm... true. I think I meant when you succeed.
Ah yes. Appreciate all victories!
:)
Hello again...
I have such respect for single women!
Your icon is delightful, Hego!
It was in tribute to my trip to Florence last month.
Evanonut, crossy, sorry, got called away. {{ ♥♥ }} back atcha!
Soodle, doesn't the rich husband come with a gardener? If not, why bother?
Lol Jilly. Two choices. (A) Get on with life, or (B) lie down and die.
True, only one way to go there.
Crikey, Molls. I'd forego the rich husband for a gardener!
True dat! My respect comes from having to change to being the "overseer" with hubby having Alzheimers.
Man... I missed a lot of pl today...
Yes, when mine was sick everything fell to me, Jill.
get busy living or get busy dying....shawshank redemption
But nurses are strong and used to coping.
Hego? Was Florence truly amazing? Did you 'do' all the galleries?
It's difficult to suddenly have to change after so many years isn't it Hego!?
It was amazing Soodle.
Ivesy.. I'm watching the Shawshank redemption right now!
I done the galleries on previous trips. This trip was fun stuff, like a cooking class.
lol... one of my fave movies...do u like it
I had done
The book was even better Ivesy. but a great movie.
Must go. Good evening to All. Later.
havent read it yet.. i believe it based on a stephen king book?
<----!!FW!! wr6/30 was my last...a new one...species of marine fish
One of S King's best. No spooky stuff.
Its about the 119th time I've seen it. (But who's counting?). It gets better & better.
Congrats again!!
Poof!
i agree soodle... !
Bye hego!
Way-hay!! well done Jilly!!!!🎼ðŸºðŸ»ðŸ¸ðŸ†
Distant voice in the wilderness... Bye Hego....
*Shakes head* She said it, she actually said it. "I'd forego the rich husband". *Sniff*
For a GARDENER???
TY soodle....
what!! noooooo.....the rich husband can get you a gardener
LOL Molly.. I thought the same thing! Rich husband should equal having a paid gardener!
Thank God Ivesy still has the good sense God gave her.
im still hanging on to it molly .. they tried and tried to take it, but i still have it
Well, must scoot off for a couple of things I must to before I get ready for my night with hubby...happy babbling all! *poof*
hi all. speaking of single women. I am fiercely independent. it comes from living many years by myself. I can change a fuse and know what to do with a fuse box. change a lightbulb, unclog a drain, etc.
but it is nice to have someone to lean on a times too
Good for you Peri. I think it's good for women to know those kind of things. It keeps them from being clingy, whiny, needy partners.
now listen here assed is a word and it is in morewords but alas enable will not accept it.
I once knew a woman who depended on her husband for everything. She said that when he left her, she didn't even know how to write a check.
that is sad but not uncommon especially in older women who have been married a long time
I had no choice, there was no one to help me.
but I am better for it
You are better for it. Back in the day when there was full serve gas, my Mom didn't know how to pump her own. Now that is sad.
I have a friend in her late 40's who has never lived alone. lived at home married young, divorced after 20 years of marriage, lived with a girlfriend and then with the man she is now engaged to.
Molls, no G&T today. had a hair dresser appt. maybe tomorrow after the gym
*Sniff*
but I did have my dark chocolate covered caramels from Trader Joes :)
hello everybody. The night owl has let out the crazies. They both sleep about 26 hrs a day ut whe they aren't eating in the other two hours, they wrestle wildly and tonight it was in the bedroom. Fun to watch but I have to flatten myself against a wall to avoid being inadvertently mowed down.
160 lbs of dog at knee level is definitely a hazard!
yikes ruby, be careful.
"Rich husbands don't necessarily hold onto their money"
jUST SAYIN'
peri, did you dare to change that hair colour?
not yet, jaxx
I had my hair cut yesterday so my coloured area is smaller. I will renew the pink just before Christmas.
I had my hair trimmed today
Slight change of stylefor me but nothing too drastic.
help with re6 pls
Don't have it, peri.
reweep
RE6 A part or space, as a bay or alcove in a room.
I can't find it in morewords
Also means a college breaktime
ty zooz. also a break in a school day
FW
off to watch some tv and then a move, bye
ty zooz and hello
Congrats, Peri!
Hello, Jaxx :-)
How are you?
I am okay :-) And yourself?
I have decided that I am not safe to let out. We went buying fireworks today. On the way out of the store I went to get us a cup of tea. On the way to the car one of the lids came off and scalding hot tea ran over me left hand. I dropped the other tea and it scalded my leg. It is very, very sore and I am very sorry for myself. BooHoo
Good grief! Hope you managed to put your scalded hand under water for a good ten minutes.Very sorry to hear you did that to yourself.#
Did either your hand or leg come up with blisters? If so I think they say do not pop them.
In the middle of a superstore carpark? Nigel went to get bottled water and i trickled that over the reddest areas. It wasn't until we got home I looked at the 'water' and it was Fruit Shoot Hydro, blackcurrant flavour! So I am very sweet and sticky as well.
Oh yes sorry.A bit tired here.Sounds like it just has not been your day :-(
No blisters as yet but I find I get them the day after. At the moment it just hurts like H***
Yes I can imagine. When I used to work in the kitchens as a chef.I had scalded myself a few times over the years.I did find that after about two hours the pain went away. Not sure why.
Maybe you should go to the chemists in the morning and let them know. They might have a cream or something you could use to help heal the wound or stop the pain quicker?
Not going to be a comfy night for you now though.I feel for you :-(
This follows on from yesterday when I stood on the bed to get something off the top of the wardrobe. I then forgot that I am 68 and not 21 and jumped off the bed. I hit the floor feet first, grabbed the stepladder (that I should have used before. Thhis pulled my arm across and the momentum carried me head first into another wardrobe. So I now have a pulled arm muscle on the rightand a scalded left les and hand. I am definitely a danger to myself.
leg and hand. Sorry about the typing.
Ouch! What on earth are you doing to yourself! I think you need to slow down and think before doing things.Probably got a lot on your mind and not thinking logically.S.L.O.W D.O.W.N before you do yourself some serious harm. You will be no good to anyone then!
This follows a week of severe vertigo and perhaps this slight off centre feeling is a remnant of that. Doctor's on Monday I think.
hura
Yes I feel the doctors might be a good way to go.Vertigo must be an aweful thing to have. And like you say could have something to do with it.
That is not a comment on my stupidity!
Hu 5/16 and Hu 4/6 are the only two HUs
HU 5/16 is plural of what sounds like a name for a group of cows.
The other hu is the HU 4/6 what you did when you Hu4 ed yourself of the bed.
Thanks, Zoom. I am now off to my bed with one arm stuck up in the air like an aerial. Night.
Good job you did not jarr your back as well. That would of been even worse. Hope you can try and get some sleep, Jaxx.
Thanks. I might read before I try and sleep properly.
That is what I am about to do too.Reading the second book of the Septimus Heap series (seven books) so far. By Angie Sage. Happy reading then, Jaxx.I too am off to read.
enable did not go to college obviously cuz rewear is totally a word ;)
heh heh....certainly one in my vocabulary!
Hi all, going through Facebook withdrawal so hanging around here more :)
Hello all. Just getting started on this grey, rainy, windy day in the great American Northwest. This was my day to reorganize paper work for the past two months. Argh.
Hi all, hi stidg :)
Need to find my last 4 words - was just too tired last night!
Hi Lizlin. Nice to see you. I have the two d words from the left column but that's all.
That's a good start! I searched for those for quite a while!
Just found a really simple dr 5 that I'd missed!
I like to work across the grid from left top, down, then the next column down and so on. My brain works best that way.
Which is not to say excellently, but optimum for me.
I start off random, just typing in words as I see them, then become more logical when I eventually list. But if I find a particular pattern, I work on that too.
Any method is good, as long as it works for you!
Need to find an sa 5/6 combo now to finish!
Go, go, go, lizlin.
Hm! From 2 different s's!
Duh! Indian dress!
Sorry - shouldn't have typed that in - unwanted clue!
Fireworks!
And pb at the same time! Time for a beach walk, methinks! Good luck with the grid :)
Goodbye, liz. Thanks for the company.
So no one is there?
Here?
Yes, I'm here. Quietly doing the grid.
East Coast Mid or West?
Early evening or late afternoon. Still with daylight.
Night here
But our weather has been fantastic
Well glad your weather suits you. We are going to have a dark and windy night. So wonderfully seasonal!
Fall in New England is so colorful and cozy, but it reminds me of what is to come and I have learned not to like winter. But our summer was not great, but we are making up for it now.
I think lots of people have a dread of driving in snowy conditions. Right now so many people are having to drive to work before daylight and when it is rainy, the multiple reflections make everyone more ill-at-ea**.
Thanks! Didn't have the ea4/4
And I'm not in the pb eating bonbons because of giving you the word!
I don't understand the short hand, but I've just finished a bag ap\
of Cappuchino Lays which I highly reccomend
pb means penalty box. If you use a word in the grid in the chat, that means you must go into the penalty box (variously described) until whenever. It is virtual. Virtually no where and for no time.
sp
Could I get a clue for wr6, please?
Fishy?
wr + word for butt + vowel. I had no idea it was a fish.
thanks got it
First time I've been on here so was that too specific (even though you didn't know it was a fish!)?
Nope, not too specific at all. People often clue with the definition of the word.
I think this is going to take a lot more practice, I've still got 69 words to find!
there is always lickety to help you...
small pretty fish actually
they morph into a L shape when they mate
some people say when they mate they wrasseL
*opens lead balloon window*
Always nice to know ruru has awakened.
:D
that sounds like a steven king novel
The RURU has awakened
*waves to all the lurkers*
*climbs out lead balloon window .. and disappears into the night*
goodnight ru....

Hi penq, Babble makes us say strange things.
Makes us dream of things like hairy nosed dolpins giving a needle case to Hawiian geese.
ashes
hi...
heh heh...
oops Hi penquis. I just arrived and forgot to pay attention before starting......... This could be a long grid for me
hi...
Finished our dinner and now to watch TV. Hi to you all and good night.
waves to stidgmere. Sorry I missed you tonight
hey all
just checking in...
Comme est la grid aujord'hui?
too early to tell for me stid. How are you today? I just missed your Mum
LOL better than the last couple of days... had multiple classroom and playground crises this week. All managed, and no kids permanently damaged, but I REALLY needed the weekend!
and it's raining, so it's not as much fun to drive or be outside... but otherwise things are going well. You?
I am so sorry. Little things are so huge to little kids.
We are having lots of rain too but I am happy to have an excuse to stay inside. I am trying to rearrange and paint my office at the same time. Not the best plan.
the kids must have been fascinated to meet Grant.
well, a bigger space might be easier. LOL lots of lovely tarps and painter's tape!
They LOVED meeting him! And the best part was, he loved meeting them, too.
When I was that age I had no idea that teachers had families. Somehow I just thought they appeared at school every morning.
:-D me too...
and then this week I found out that two of the teachers at the school are married to each other! LOL They have a common enough last name, I assumed they weren't... so they had a chance to tell me their love story and it was so sweet...
The kids at one school had an elementary principal whom they loved named Mr Allan. The secretary at the middle school was his wife. They day they realised that they all came to me exclaiming, " Did you know that Mrs. Allan is married to Mr. Allan?" I couldn't understand why they were so astonished by that until she explained it to me.
Funny!
oooh. found a 7!
good job. I can't find much tonight.
I can help some, I am down to 74. Resting my hips, feet up (haven't been able to do that for two days!). Didn't bring work home, but will go to school in the morning and take care of some grading and organizing. We have three weeks until conferences. I am a little nervous...
no need to be nervous. you can wing it with parents because you know their kids so well.
I hope so, because I know so few of the parents!!!!
You aren't supposed to know the parents. They just want to know how their kids are doing at school -- do they have friends and are they struggling with anything.
I asked the kids what they want my new "teaching vests" to look like (I make vests with large pockets to hold a timer, pens, markers....). Here are some of their ideas: "the vest I want is kinda like web and stuff"
suggestions like that will get your creativity on edge
"bugs on the front and animals on the back" "musical instermints or heats [hearts] or spider fabrick an stars" "birds" "books" "buterflie"
I am having so much fun with these kiddos. They are creative and interested in so much of life! Some of the suggestions are sketches... they are great artists at this age.
You may have to make a patchwork vest with little bits of these fabrics. Can you buy 1/5 of a yard of fabric? or is that just too cheap?
I really should have several vests for this age group anyway, and I always make them reversible... and "patchwork" pockets. :-)
I am really ashamed to ask this again....puter went crazy and I lost lickety's list. Many have told me how to do it but I just get stupid....I can bring up the list but I can't put them together and get the little orange things to send words to the list or the grid. If someone will REALLY dumb it down I will try again....as is I am just doing it without lickety.....thanks so much.
I think you just have to highlight all the words you have, copy them and then drop them in the first box at the bottom of Licketys List for Bulk add.
Thanks Bugs, I will try that.
I can
I can't get them on the same screen but it is easy enough to open the list in a new tab and just switch
hope you are well peach
hello peach!
I got as far as highlighting the words but I don't know how to copy them....
Hi there, stidmama.
hightlight them, right click, find Copy and click that, go to the box on the list, right click Paste. They should all appear there.
I am much better that last week, Bugs. Thanks for asking.
glad you're here bugs, I am trying to just think how to do it... and not managing to get my head around anything!
glad to hear it. Did it work for you yet
I need the list tonight stid.
hi peach...long time no see....
Hi there, pen. Hope all is well with you.
I would need it if I wanted to finish... I am trying to find words, but I know I won't be up much longer.
ok here....getting PT for a sore arm, but otherwise fine...
Sorry about your arm, pen. Did you fall or injure it somehow?
Bugs, I have tried everything....obviously not doing something right. I will write down your instructions and try again later. Thanks so much.
no, don't know how it happened....overdoing i guess...
what are you trying to do, peach?
Trying to bring Lickety's list back up.....had computer trouble and it was erased.
ah....so you were trying to copy your list here to lickety?
Can yo get them to land in the box peach? Then you just click Add Words on the box
It is easy to bring the list up. Just look at the bottom in the green words where it says Licketys Babble clues. Click on that and it will open in another tab.
there. I am down to 50 and going to sleep now... back later on the weekend. **choclits and good thoughts to all** *Poof*
waves to stid. I am watching Doc Martin andneed to pay more attention to the chog
Bugs, I am able to bring up the list with just the two letters and word points......that is better than I have been doing. Thanks so much for your help.
Good, now try the highlighting of the words you have found. Are you clear on how to do that?
Yes, I can do that and click on "copy".....I've tried clicking onto the first box in lickety's list but it dosen't come up as part of the same page as it used to.
you are looking for the big box at the end of Licketys List of words. It is called Bulk Add.
Oh, OK.
put the cursor in that box, right click to find Paste and then click on Paste. They should all land in the box. Then click the yellow Add Bulk button on the lower edge of the box and they will all go to where they belong.
how is it going peach?
Have done that....it gives me the number of words that I have and the number I have left. When I hit the ADD BULK nothing happens.
your list does not appear in the lickety word list?
No, pen. I must be the dumbest thing going.
Going to try again.
^Did a little box appear that says how many words were added? You just have to say OK
Will do that now.
Clicked "OK' and nothing happened.
Will try again.
I can't figure out what step we are missing peach. I am sorry.
Bugs, all of the words I had came up but don't know how to get them transfered over.
transferred to where?
there are 2 big boxes at the bottom of the list. Are you dropping in the first one labelled Add bulk ? The other one doesn't work the same way
Yes, I am using the first one, Bugs.
NOT the Bulk Grab box. Use the Bulk Add box to get them to stick in the correct spots.
So you can get them to land in the Bulk Add box and then what happens?
are you able to see what step is not clear penguis? Please help
Peach, are you on Lickety's Babble Clues or are you in Expert?
Molly, I am on Lickety's Babble Clues.
I tried it again and got as far as the OK box, clicked on it but nothing happened.
Then Bugs has given perfect instructions on how to move your words from here to there.
Did you scroll up to see if your words landed in the word boxes?
good thot Molly
When you click on OKAY, it just makes that popped up box disappear. You have to actually scroll up the screen to see where your words landed on that page.
I just now did that....yes, the words are there....how do I transfer them over to the left side of this page, with the orange boxes that allows to transfer from word list to Lickety and vice versa.
without Expert, I don't think you can do that peach
See, that is an Expert question.
If you are using Babble Expert, you don't need to use Lickety's Clue Page. Link to Expert: http://tinyurl.com/asayuk8
I don't know about Expert.....at some point I must have done something right .....it has always been there. OK, Molly, I will try that
I will try this later in the day.....mind is muddled right now. Thanks y'all for the help. Blessings
goodnight!
546 next grid....I wish, LOL
