Kids got their new furnace today! No more worries with a carbon monoxide problem. I think they are going to at least confront the inspector (who missed the problem before they bought the house). Thanks!
That is why they first told me no heels - helps reduce heel pain, knee pain, and lower back pain. I sure haven't missed them LOL
oh, good dee.that's one less worry.
Furnace repairman said the levels were 4 x over safe numbers... terrifies me to think what might have been, had they just gone to sleep, instead of leaving home that night. So thankful our son-in-law was so careful.
Supposedly all caused by one broken part in a 12 year old furnace... absurd actually... making hubby replace our carbon monoxide detectors this weekend with digital readers.

yeah i know, grem. during my working lif i have kept some pretty early hours too. try starting at 7:30am and not finishing until 6pm, if you are lucky.
I might go for that if it was only 4 days a week
or starting at 10am, and finishing at 8:30pm, again if you are lucky
grem, 3 x 10 hour shifts, plus 1 x 8 hour was my usual roster. plus overtime, and on-call.
and in the ICU, they work only 3 shifts...12 hours if you please.

i didn't think renal function would affect her blood sugars.

we had some trouble with that before---maybe five years ago or so----so its back, it seems. I go to the heart doctor wed.--I may need to put all that off on me until I get things rright with her

Funny thing is you never get call-back with results unless there is an issue, but we have super-short wait times for CT scan and MRI's, so If I am complaining, it is very gently

I remember when they found that huge tumor in my shoulder, I had to wait for 6 months for a biopsy. I called another hospital and they said 3 weeks max. Turned out only one week even.
I told that first hospital, wth? Waiting 6 months while we don't know what it is??? And they said, the doctor said it was only 5% chance that it was malign. I told them, give me a lottery with only 5% chance on the main prize and I am in!

I definitely "shop around" for doctors. When I had cancer, I consulted with 2 experts in Boston, even though I was in Miami, and then "shopped" my protocol (designed in Boston) until I found a Miami doctor who would administer the correct and individualized drugs.

I am very happy with the general state of medicine in our country.

Indeed, with my cancer, I also did not mess around, nor did my doctor. he was super proactive and cut trough tons of rad tape and got me to the front of the line with the best oncologist in the area.

rescued 2 adorable doxie babies from local animal control a few years ago that rode to Ontario -- were adopted pretty quickly

they are, une - it took some hard work to bring the border collie around. took almost two years for him to trust us to sleep with his back to us and pet him like a 'regular' dog - he's about eight now and you'd never know he had issues

We are fortunate here in that new (within last 5 years) regulations have basically killed of what mills existed. No longer can we buy a cat or dog at a pet store; instead they have adoption days highlighting animals from our local shelter. if you, however, wish a specific breed you are then referred to a licensed and reputable breeder who has all the correct permits and is inspected on a regular basis by the animal control officers.

I understand that you should not have something that you cant afford, but to make a 20 minute process on a cat cost upward of $100 is crazy. My friend (a vet) neutered my cat at my house and it was a shot, and 2 minutes of his time.
I went the easy way by adopting.This way my cats all came spayed or neutered, with all shots, three free flea treatments(if needed0 and microchipped, all for under 200 dollars
things happen and people want to help the animals out there, but cant because of inflated prices. Plus things happen in our lives that make affording things at one time, is no longer feasible. so what to do, throw the pet out?
not here cross, the dog I foster failed was $150 with all listed. He has to be, because to vet the other dogs cost so much.

I do the shots myself and that saves a lot. I also found an amazing flea product for dogs. It is Bayer Seresto Flea and Tick Collar, Large Dog http://www.amazon.com/Bayer-Seresto-Fl\nea-Collar-Large/product-reviews/B00B8C\nG602. I take the dogs camping each year and the fleas made me crazy. I tried everything, but this collar goes into their bloodstream like the drops and really lasts 8mths. and it cost $50.
