ooh, first word was po7/36 which jumped out at me
Hello :-)
{{zzoozz}}
do those animals xit in Europe?
How are you, ((Ruby))
Are they the same as skunks?
exiwst*
freezing, but the painter/plasterer is working like crazy
exist* my hands are so cold that I can barely type
I think there is one caleed the Euroean po 7/36
called*
Mild here today although a little bit windy.
Have they nearly finished then, Ruby?
the Fr word for skunk is putois but I\ think that comes from Quebec
He just started yesterday with the ceiling in the kitchen//breakfast room. It is a huge job but he seems to be working fast
I bet it will make the place look all new again :-)
Kitchen first, then upstairs Exterior work will wait 'til Spring. At least the house should look spiffy by the time Soodle gets here in April or May and Rose and Don in June or July.
Sounds like you will have a busy year!
We re-did the whole house before we moved in15 yrs ago, but all these years of dogs and careless housekeepers have taken their toll.
What I didn't anticipate was how much work I would have to do because the walls were all covered with artwork etc. and the flat surfaces with tschotkes and antiques
good morning all
Yes maintainance is an on going job.
Hello, Sprite :-)
We made all those structural changes and all th work while we were still in Miami, so didn't have to live in a construction ste
This is different and much worse.
*hugs zooz* Hello dear man. How are you today?
{{Sprite}}
*hugs ruby*
My parents house has millions of oil paintings on their walls. It takes an age to remove them to clean the walls etc..lol
I am well than you.Hope you are well?
I am fine, thanks :)
than was supposed to be thank..geez.
wE HAVE A LOT OF REALLY FRAGILE STUFF ON TH WALLS LIKE Japanese INLAY WOODEN PLAQUES AND ANTIQQUE PLATES.
whoops, sorry for caps
Sprite knows how "tired\' the house looked
*giggles* Imagine you had been ill and was now feeling better. You would have said: I am better than you :D
Yes I take it they look great untill you have to move them, Ruby.Ruddy night-mare!
not really. I thought it looked nice.
Did you see the teeniest grid yesterday, Sprite :-(
yeah. Breezed through it in no time. Very disappointing.
Same here. I landed up playing candy crush and alike..lol
you are too sweet, Sprite. N\\ice, except for the \"dog gouges" and blackened and cracked ceilings (but who looks up, anyway?) lol
lol :D
You mean the house had character, Ruby :-)
well sweetie, you know me. I don't look and judge. I look and see hundreds of great things. And two beautiful people.
Funnily when we bought it, it had no character at all, but our renovations made it look like a much older and well-restored house.
But I guess that 5 years is a pretty good run for wallpeter and paint
I wonder how many ppl were busted at the fl4 :D
Yes I did notice that when I started..And wondered the same.Have not looked to find out yet.
hehehe I don't wonder that hard. Don't have to know. Just good for a smile.
Well I have just looked and the answer is................None..lol
hehehe darn it. Well done on them. No smile for me.
For a grid size of nearly 200 words I am surprised the highest word stat is a seven. And only four of them at that..lol
if I would play at fl4 time I would most likely be in the sin bin from the start.
means it is a nasty grid, usually, lol
If you were to start at flip time you would be with the ones like Broll, volly, Ruru and others who can call out all the 8,9,10 plus words in minutes , before lickety has had a chance to say clues are up..lol
no I wouldn't. I totally dislike that. It is one of the reasons I don't play at fl4 time anymore.
I don,t play at that time often as I am way too tired to see the grid properly. And my bed is calling me back to dream land :-)
hehehe I understand that! I am usually up at 7, so I could easily make it. Used to play with Atalante, Haz and several others at fl4 time. But the stat listers spoiled it for us.
Not seen, Atalante here for a long time.see Haz sometimes on the other site.
the other site?
I am sure Holland is an hour in front of the UK.
Sudoku.
ata is too busy to play, she works full time in her own field of study now. Maritime biology. Haz does not enjoy the atmosphere in babble anymore. I miss them both.
ah ok, the sudoku. I love the sudokus.
Yes there are a few babblers who have said they are not as happy as they used to be with babble. Lynxxx was just saying the same thing to me the other day :-(
Not seen, Rose, on here today. Must be having a lovely night out on the tiles with Don :-)
sorry about that. Windows was updating and decid4ed to reboot my computer. Ugh.
yes, they were gonna have a 8-course greek dinner. Don't expect them home early :)
LOl no problems. Just thought you had your head burried in the grid :-)
Nice.Hope they are having a wonderful time!
me too! They richly deserve it
they do at that. The have had a lot to deal with these last few years.
Back. Had to check on husband nd painter. The painter keeps telling me how expensive the "add-ons" are going to be. But at this point, I really don't care.
The work has to be done nd it's started, so there are no choices
they sure had, zooz. Too much too soon. They are heroes.
frustrating, ruby
don,t let them take the piss though, Ruby.
Pardon my language.
hehehe
Nothing \I can do and husband is totally uninvolved, so it's just me
probably very scary for him, ruby, all the unrest.
Fr chickens are in here lol
and dogs are totally freaked out
Maybe Say a cup of tea is one euro so if it is 55 euros extra. That will be so many cups of tea they will have to go without :-)
hehehe nice one, zooz
yeah @ the french chicken. Not valid, nor is its meat :(
always surprised that sn5/18 is valid. It is an acronym.
Scoops that one up.Thanks :-)
hehehe yvw
I tried to enter 'leaf' about half a dozen times until I realised the A is in the wrong place.Stupid man tsk tsk.
not stupid. Just hopeful :)
quick 110 but my hands are too cold
I had better go and put on another layer of sweaters. I look like the Michelin man already
you need those gloves with cut-off fingers, ruby
I beg to differ, Zooz. The A is not in the wrong place; there is a missing C and another E that were supposed to make the word sp**tacle
actually, I have a pair that FM sent to me....I think of her whenever it gets cold!
hello jwr
heigh ho
hey jwr :) *hug* and lol! too true.
ooo good one, Jwr!
the only two people who were ever mean and nasty to me in this room were Haz and Nancyboy
then you never tried to tell Molly that the Scottish election results may have had some good points
Everybody else has been wonderful
I remember a few more flare-ups here. But not gonna go there, grin. I like most of my fellow babblers. Some more than others. But there has to be a black sheep in every family, right?
baaaaaaaaaa
Heard on the news yesterday that scientists landed a satellite onto a comet about 300 million miles away.Whilst the comet is traveling at thousands of miles an hour. Amazes me how they can do that!
I think I miss many of the "flare-ups" but the ones aimed at me were totally unjust and awful
*giggles* Nah, you are a friend, jwr. Never doubt it.
zooz, I totally agree. Seeing how it is sometimes hard to even park a car... incredible they can land something that far away, going that fast.
The thing they landed is about the size of a washing machine and the comet is about the size of central park.
ruby goes to the PB!
hehehe trust Dianne to put things in perspective. True, that. But still.
I think the science behind that comet landing was what has been in several science-fisction movies, i.e. that they want to be able toblow up a comet if it endangers Earth. They just don't want to scare people, but that's what wiped out the dinasaurs, for example
occasionally sheepish, sprite. ... why does Ruby get to go have a treat? Why?
she posted a grid word.
hah, ty for the aw and th trip to the pb, sprite
Helo Diane
i'm looking for it
and you know it... freebees are rewarded with a trip to the PB. Goodies included.
yvw ruby :)
oh ty sprite and ruby
I am just totally amazed that they were able to do that. It took more than 30 minutes for the signal to reach earth.
Exactly! Wonder what thay will find out about it.
Do you think I may be right or is that just a personal "conspiracy theory"?
Yeah it is incredible. Space, the final frontier.
Dianne -- it's sort of like landing a new subject in the middle of a fast-moving babblechat.
LOl
landing that is the easy part. Getting it to be noticed is the harder :D
You are right, jwr.
having lunch at Sprite's resto. They have just re-opened after a 3-week closure
no idea, ruby.
I think the money should have been spent on teaching kids to read and providing housing for the poor
french key is valid, btw, ruby :)
oh, they're always noticed -- sometimes you just have to decide which to respond to. First. Say for example wanting to ask Sprite if she's ever visited the historical windmills in her area
have it, tx, sprite. I always check the Fr words as they are frequently accepted
oh yes, I have, jwr. We live about 10 mins away from them. The kids' school is next to them. Interesting. But always teeming with japanese tourists :)
Thanks for the AW5, Ruby, I missed that one.
put a letter in front of it, zooz, for another one
oh ruby -- you have to believe that there's a planet out there where there are lots of houses and books just waiting for us.
Geez I am crap at this game. Thanks, Sprite!
I tried putting a p in front, but that only works for pups
I know it exists, jwr. It is the place all my pens travel to the minute I need them.
LOL
awwww that is so sweet, ruby!
hahah and I'm off
You guys are too funny!
bye ruby, good luck today
As the Science Guy said - that's the reason we do these things - to find out where we came from and if there are "others".
toodle pips for now, Ruby. Don,t forget to charge the work-men if thay want a cup of tea :-)
If anybody wants to see Sprite's resto, it has a website: Bistrot de L'Amandier (or something)
hahah
*woof*
I always wonder, if we ever meet 'others', if we even will notice they are others. I mean, they could be so totally different we wouldn't realise they are there.
as Douglas Adams wrote... it could be a hyper-intelligent shade of blue.
Well I thinnk the universe is so VAST that there just has to be other life out there. What form it takes..well who knows.
see? just thinking about it is a good thing
I agree on that. If you think how many stars, how many planets... hard to imagine we are the only life forms, the only inhabited planet.
I'm back to work/Earth again. Later guys
My husband had a colleague (a bright, business woman) who swore on everything holy that she had been taken on board a spce craft.
have a safe trip home, jwr ;)
May be in a few thousand years (if earth survives that long) people will book planet holidays...where we going this year mum (mom)..I thought we could go to planet quarkillius this year dear. YaY!
for real, Dianne? Wow. Would love to hear her story.
did you ask how she liked her anal probe? (sorry, I was on my way out and had to stop for that)
roflolollllll jwr!
LOl
There are a few people i have seen on TV that swear they had been taken by beings on a craft. Then brought back again.
sprite - not only all the stars and planets but what about what's at the end of the black hole?
oh yes! Mindboggling, that. Also, as someone said... ok, the universe expands. But into what, I wonder?
Black holes are so intriguing yet scary at the same time.
fireflies. Made up for yesterday, this grid. Almost.
Well landing on that comet could be the start of answers to finding these type os questions out, Sprite.
I will keep following it with interest, zooz. Always fascinates me.
Congrats, Sprite!
am gonna love and leave you guys. *hugs* and may you all have a blessed day and a peacefu night.
On the BBC news website. They have a game that you can try and land the satelitte. I landed it first time with 100% score!
Have a great day, Spritey!
morning all- well this is better than 25 lol
good morning everyone:)
morning crossy
Good morning all

I thought up6 was a bit out there.
hi annie
Hi Molly

hi Liz, Molly, Wolvie etal
Good morning everyone. A bit chilly for us East Coasters.
I was just out on the terrace, brrrrr
hello
hello ((ruby))
hi ruby
Hi Ruby - how's the work on the house going?
The guy started yesterday and I waS AMAZED AT HOW MUCH I HAD TO DO IN PREPARATION, AND THAT'S ONLY FOR THE KITCHEN
whhops, sorry, bad pinkie
Hope you're not overdoing it!
There was sooo much stuff on the walls and flat surfaces
fireworks
congrats liz
yay liz!
Thanks - a couple of twisty ones that took me ages to find!
ruby, Liz has the kitchen and downstairs bathroom gutted and redone. Much preparation, much. It is almost finished. going up there the day after TG day.
Congrats, Liz
Thanks Annie
ruby, please get someone to help you prepare.
Enjoy your days everyone.
and I'm sure that your Liz doesn't have the insane accumulation of stuff that we have after all these years!
And YOUR liz is a kid, compared to me
10 left for later- off to the day- have a good one to all :-)
She's 46, going to be married 19 years on the 25 so there is a lot of stuff there. But she had help getting everything off the wall and out of the closets. Big job. But, ruby, how lovely it will be a the end
I think this is a good time to have the work done. If not now, when?
*at...cant type anymore
ruby, are you renovating your kitchen?
no, the kitchen was totally done before we moved into the house. Now it is ceilings, wallpaper, paint and plaster plus interior and exterior woodwork.
no, the kitchen was totally done before we moved into the house. Now it is ceilings, wallpaper, paint and plaster plus interior and exterior woodwork.
there's a normalcy grid
The exterior work will be done in the Spring
All the major reno was doe while we were still in Miami" removing walls, adding windows and fireplaces etc.
but it I stil a huge job
(an't type, either)
ruby, Lots of work but think of the end result
hi nutty :)
I'm trying to focus on that....
and both soodle and rose are coming in the Spring (not at the same time), so all of the intrior work should be done by then
I would love to have my kitchen remodeled. Alas, it takes $$$ that I do not have at the moment.
When we were having the house redone, while still in Miami, my husband used to joke that this kitchen cost more than his first house! lol
It I a beautiful kitchen/breakfast room
I bet it did
since the previous kitchen was ugly and small, it was a pleasure to remove a wall and all the rest
Ruby, you had the right idea. Relax in beautiful Miami while people renovate your house. Ah!
I was still working and we weren't yet married
This time, the contractor said Could you go away for a couple of weeks?" Right lol
So, back then, husband wooed you by buying you a house in France? Nice.
Exactly
mine wooed me with good health insurance. times have changed!
If I could get out of here now, you can bet that I would!
We have no health insurance.....
Good morning friends
I try Teflon from time to time, but it still doesn't work
hello Bichon
Nice to see a substantial grid today
morning, bichon
Teflon for your health?
surrounding myself with Teflon, but my name isn'tDon
Hello ruby. We can't afford a home makeover, but it does sound nice
This house looked very tired after 15 years
We did lots on the outside, but it really neads a paint job and new wall paper inside
It's a pretty house, but the dogs and bad housekeepers wrecked the wallpaper and paint and the bad original contractor messed up the ceilings
cant find the left-hand, bottom a. Help, pls
me neither ruby
as 6/24
hint lady, pls
as + what they call your chest muscle + consonant
contractor just came back from his lnch and dog is apoplectic!
ty lady
ty lady hit me with a fish
there's a skunk in the grid, run
that was the first word I saw, bicho
I don't think any fish are needed for as6. A lot of people are not seeing it.
is po7 the same as skunk? There's a Fr word but I think it comes from Canada
yes, I think so
59 left and I'm going to hide upstairs an try to take a nap, far from the contractor
No, actually they are a ferret closely related to skunks
ruby, far, far away
Moufette is very very French, not Canadian.
Good morning people
putois
hello sukee
I just "walked the garden", hoping for a last fig or two. There are still some figs, but I doubt that they'll ripen
ruby, there an op-ed in yesterday by the author of "Bringing up Bebe". It is about how do you become really French
There is actually snow on the ground today, not much but it is there.
Maybe it will be in today's Int'l edition
I would like to be, but don't think it can happen. Much too "new yorkaise" lol
She wants to become a French citizen, but it takes years and is very difficult
There is snow on some of the local mountaintops, but ere it's damp but sunny today, and cold
I have looked into the laws, and it isn't possible for me.
Not that it matters, I pay taxes here and can't visit there any more
ruby, can you have dual citizenship?
and apoplectic is almost in the grid
Why, have you been deported?
no, I'm not eligible for any special treatment and with our us tax problems, probably can't go back.
I couldn't leave dogs and/or husband anyway
would you be taken into custody when you plane lands at JFK?
I don't know and wouldn't like to find out!
Try and picture this little old lady in handcuffs and remanded to Guantanamo
Try and picture this little old lady in handcuffs and remanded to Guantanamo
Picture this little old lady remanded to Guantanomo
That conjures up a remakable image
horrible
It's like when we had the car accident and four firemen prepared to lift me into the ambulance and all started laughing
why were they laughing. Did you put your undies on backwards and inside out
they were prepared for a serious "lift\' and there I was
They were very sweet about it, though
and now, the newspaper!
*woof*
hello friends
hi Trif
quick babble today...sneaking a few words whilst covering the library
yesterday was the quick babble day
hahaha
count for the lower left corner a please?
6/24
thx teach
true story: we have a student who broke his arm, and thus cannot participate in gym. He comes to the library and just SITS instead. Another teacher asked him why he wasn't doing anything, and he said "I don't have anything to read."
Wow, my job would have been to read in the library rather than take gym any day :)
my joy that is.
no kidding!!!
I LOVE it in here....
I believe it is impossible to feel stressed in a library
That is why I studied library science. I would cut class and hang out in the public library. Read my way through Steinbeck and others during high school.
bell is going to ring....gotta run.
oh, we would be such best friends in real life, sukee!
Have a good day
Sadly, the only thing most teens are interested in reading these days are texts full of misspelled words.
or tweets. I can't really bring myself to read tweets
The whole Twitter thing is beyond my understanding.
I can't to look at all those symbols with overexcited gext
I mourn the bastardization and overuse of punctuation every day *sniff*
hello aain
hi car

Can't count yesterday as a grid

it could have been a twofer
I agree, you can't count yesterday. I feel like I missed a day playing.
Not seeing all of you was so difficult
{{group}}
*Passes around the tissue box*
I had a hard day yesterday and needed the support
We are here now...what can we help with?
It was just my GI issues. Ended up having to get an abdominal xray.
Oh no. I am sorry.
Anything revealed?
no, just severe constipation anfter a stomach virus. Need to do what most people with this condition have to do
which is.....
flush
ha ha sue
Take a stool softener
Ok. That is do-able.
It's only a pill. Better than the other options
a friend of mine had constipation to the extreme for years, and i mean years. she kept going to the same dr. i told her to see another because it sounded like they weren't listening. she did go to another and she had an infection in her colon for a long time. with antibiotics and meds, she is feeling MUCH better.

you are good matty
hi Matty
i tend to pick an area of the grid and milk it...then move on to another area...
that's what I do, also.
i try to go by columns
Jumping around trying to get nbt and nbs makes my ocd hurt.
hego really?
al
i don't do that....i find all the word families that i can, area by area...when i slow down, i check the stats to see what i am missing....then sometimes i go from there to trying to find all the four letter words...
lol. I prefer to do it the other way.
oops
The way pen said.
:oD....
Hi Gail

If you get the small words, the bigger ones will come.

ah, yes, bureaucracy
i went to my tai chi class this morning only to find out that it was cancelled....so here i am at the coffee shop....

I took tai chi.
Chai tea, instead of Tai Chi.

yeah, but i should not have had that raspberry strudel with my cafe breve, lol....
tastes better Judi. :)
i can't do stuff on the floor....tai chi is like upright yoga... ;o)
I'm jealous...
i can't do stuff on the floor....tai chi is like upright yoga... ;o)
yes, I liked it too.
Sounds like what I need to do, Penquis.
It's kind of balletic.
it's very relaxing....just wish the fireplace in front of me had been turned on....guess it's not cold enough yet....only in the mid 40's outside...
Only?
i find tai chi relaxing...and it's helped my balance and my sense of body in space....
seasonal temps.... ;o)
Space cadet!
:)
it's been a warm fall....hanging plant still has a few flowers on it....i have never seen that in mid Nov. here....
we have a rose or 2.
Not uncommon on the Jersey shore.
I still have one late-blooming ecinacea plant at my mailbox.
French chicken in the grid. Not accepted tho.
oui
yes, i often seen french words in grids...
and Italian ones galore.
your comment led me to pa 5... ;o)
Enable is so fickle. You have to try them. You never know what might be accepted.
too true...
true Judi. I try everything!!
City in Italy is in there today too.
saw that
Have flown into that airport many times.
*Jealous*
there, there.
I used to attend a trade show in Bologna every year.
Need a break. bbl
Judi, some of us are jet setters and some of us are not.
I'm just a wannabe.
And I am a wishiwas
heh heh....guess i am an infrequent flyer... ;o)
Passport is expired, too. Gotta get it updated. New Year's resolution.
wow guess what guys
Yes, you never know when you may need to flee the country : D
what?
Wassup, JJ?!
i emailed this dr. god yesterday to ask about including a line of code to have a minimum puzzle size and he said that the puzzles are ALREADY generated NOW, for YEARS to come!
Yes. I've heard that before, JJ. Magical in both good and bad ways.
Yes, I believe I heard that from one of the "old guard"
that is pretty freaky in a way
and we will suffer with enable....like having a non-fatal disease that never gets cured...
And yet, it's kind of nice to know that our dependency on Babble is ensured in such a way.
Enablitis
Clue for oc5, please? I have the group of 8.
add mr. gore
group of 8
Nm. Just monkied it.
sorry....didn't see the end of your post...
There's an echo in here!
There's an echo in here!
Class, pay attention, we must read the chat before we post. Very good.

Ah, but I wish I had MollyR's money

Judi clued the other one earlier
of course it doesn't work like that - 1 in 26 chance - i fyou see it's SU_(meower) then you see there are only two ways to get from there to there
Picky picky

Lighten up JJ, we are joking around here : D

Une, did you get snow? : O
no -- but they got a dusting nearby
here it's just COLD :-)
back in a bit . . .
Define snow.
There was a white coat on every remotely level surface!
And BF left for work praying hard!
Southerners do not handle anything not liquid well!
Just about every road into and out of here had at least 2-3 accidents and that incluede a couple of multiples!
I believe the the count on one was 8 or 9!
No, people of the South do not handle snow very well. It's an anomaly for them.
I remember the slogans of the 70's, push up your thermostat and freeze a Yankees ass.
th su words are difficult
Hello people, from a snowy place
is that good or bad news sukee
I would rather it not snow :)
I'm with you
tale
sheesh, sorry
If you would rather it not snow, Canada is not the place to live. : )
Yes, but don't have much choice.
Other places have their own problems too
hello again
It I getting colder here, but still no frost. Snow on the distant mountains, though
it is* (nel can't type today, must be the paint fumes)
*Hands Ruby a warm blanket and a hot toddy*
This is the only warm room
You need space heaters
I don't really mind, would rather ad a sweater. Space heaters would make me nervous around the dogs and old Burt
I love "Old Burt" : D
I'm glad someone does lol
Correction, the name Old Burt. It's just a shade away from Old Fart
that would work, too
There was an old fart name of Burt, Whose feelings were easily hurt, While watching TV, And talking to me, My answers were often quite curt
Ruby: The Limerick Queen : D
anybody want one?
Round of applause for ruby's limerick :)
I guess not. Good night, Molly
And then there was Chrissie from Dee, Who held a wee babe on her knee, She kissed his fat tummy, And found it quite yummy,,
but \I can't find a last line
Ah, that's lovely so far ruby
<--looking for a rhyme.....
She's happy to be his GrandMummy
Their cuddles were something to see!
Yay, love both endings
Improvising since the grandbaby is a girl
uh oh, missed the pink
Didn't like to be picky, lol
I'll fix it
Eh, my ending didn't work. Ruby's was more in the limerick stanza way of doing it.
She kissed her fat tummy, and found it quite yummy, And said what a belle lass is she
(trying to get in a little UK vernacular)
Thank you ruby. You have hidden talents
I love writing limericks but can't write serious stuff
Believe it or not, Molly, my son just called and chatted with me for an hour about this and that, just like old times. Go figure!
Molly can ghost write your memoirs and you can insert limericks for events in your life
and those would definitely be blue
I could write limericks for each chapter about each friend
Don't know if ghost write is the right term, but you get my drift
Blue limericks?
collaborate and share the royalties
Perfect!
I'm thinking up rhymes for the various names oh my. It's a regular Pandora's box
It's fun making up little rhymes, To go with the lovely old times, A pastime quite pleasant, For this short old peasant, We'll call it oOld Passions and Crimes
Good night and thanks for putting up with this old pedant

aaah..i was using the wrong vowel to end
can't figure out why the the french we is accepted
*always miss it until I list
Enable only likes a select few French words. It always amazes me that merci is not one of them.
Enable seems to prefer rude words
fireflies- ty all for the help :-)
enable should be defined as a weird collection of misspelled and manufactured words
Congrats Wolvie
grats, wolvie
see you all tomorrow!
bye wolve
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :-)
Congrats nan
hagd everyone :-)
Took me forever to find the co5/12 pig call. Who'd have thought that would be in enable...
a true Babblet
Not if you read the overnight chat
Oh, Molly? Do tell me what I'm missing
<--has better stuff to do.
And it's not a pig call, that starts with S. The C word is an Australian aborigine call.
good afternoon everyone:)
Hiya Crossy
Howdy. I'm struggling with the la6/42....
Never mind
Got it, once I looked properly
tricky that
hi all
Hi Gwen
The 42 is a good clue for the la6
milf, still not a word
Oh, but such a disgusting acronym
disgusting or not, it is becoming a commonplace word
Oh gee, not in my circle of friends but okay
not in my circle of friends either! but then again, my circle of friends is mainly lefties who do not generally use sexist language
can i have a clue for that la6 please "42" means nothing to me as a clue, sorry
Gwen will have to message me and tell me what it is.
OK probably being thick, but does anyone have the LAST pe5/12 - after minions?
Crossy, think legal
i can tell you in here: "mother i'd like to F***
42 is the point value and a good clue
lol Gwen, I have heard of that.
ahh ok, you mean it is the point value...
Used by adolscent boys, I believe.
or hope.
Crossy, right
got the LA6, thanks, that is a good clue all right
Many years ago, I looked that acronym up as I'd got an email (spam) not knowing what it was. Apart from the meaning Gwen refers to, it turned out it was also an Indonesian Islamic militant organisation. I have visions of Indonesian Islamic millitants getting rather a shock...
that was said earlier anyways.. ok.. My mind is obv not on this since I have no idea, i will dive in, leave that word for a bit and work on some others.. sploosh!
funny, matty!
lol Matty
Anyway, got the pe 5/12 - turns out I was looking in the wrong P
There is also Gilf now and adults also say it too hego
Hi Lill!
I am being educated today. :)
Hi Hego and all
that LA6 filled in a gap in my scoring cheat sheet, so hooray for that
Think legal Crossy
I just told him that. lol
g'day all. just to clarify. no4/5 french word for us, pronounced like word for not used. no4/5 pronounced to rhyme with singular form of lice means intellect, wits, knowledge
Am going underground again as i just pooped in to educate hego :)
*popped
names can backfire. the tea party started out calling themselves teabaggers, apparently did not know that teabagging was a sex act
:D
oh, my, gwen...* giggle *
Ahh, so you did Hego, sorry
Gwen knows some interesting stuff..
HAAAA Gwen. Much the same, really
Men never listen.
Oh God, GILF...as in Grandmother I'd like to...
< -- tons of useless info in this cranium
Yes Molly
Here too Gwen
I need to go rinse my brain out with soap
waiting for the syfy comedy movie AILF
There are some very young Grandmothers' now.I watched a programme where a grandmother was 31/32
hahaha
did she live in Alabama Lil?
There have always been young grandmothers. I'm not really interested in who wants to F them .
years ago i saw in Guinness book of world record, youngest granmother was 16
cheez!!
no, she was English and the great grand mam was young too.there were 4 generations and the great grand mam was under 50
early puberty there.
Cold and dark in the winter up there.
this 16yo grandmother was in a so-called "third world" coutry, forget which one though
That's not good Gwen
nbt finally, and 77 to go
and, ta-da, the world's youngest grandchild is 0 !
well, i gotta fly, later kids
Bye Gwen and take care
Hi, Lilli
Hi Jaxx:) Sorry, i was distracted as hubby showing me things on his laptop. How is your hand doing?
ditto here, lilliann. what is it about spouses not understanding chatting in chog * sigh *. g'day jaxx, how is your hand? bandages down now, i believe?
Weird colour but no longer peeling. ((Rose))
My grandson won't let me touch him with it as he says it has germs.
it will take some time to recover fully, jaxx. glad the peeling is over.
Hi Rose.I know, how rude of them
I can use the hand and get it wet without worrying.
lol, bless him. it is now that it doesn't have germs. or more accurately, it is no longer in danger of being infected.
It will be a rose colour for a while, but over the months it will go to a white colour. My fingers took a long time to get paler
My husband just doesn't like computers at all. He kee threatening to give it a bath.ps
is it still sensitive, jaxx?
keeps even ignore the ps.
I had a bad cold a few weeks ago and still coughing and the first thing the bairn said to me was that i had ecola and i'd die in 3 weeks....She's definitely a Wednesday's child!
Only if I dunk it in hot liquid or try to take something from the oven.
I am a Wednesday's child too and a capricorn - a double dose of pessimism
She's a scorpio
Ah, the sting in the tail sign
oh my, lilliann. don't they come out with the darnedest things?
She's such a pessimist. She had gum disease a couple of weeks ago.She goes on the internet too much and put's a couple of the symptoms in and always goes for the worse one...bless her
I am never happier than when miserable. lol
It sounds like you and my bairn would get on well then jaxx
My doctor is so frustrated with people who try to diagnose via the internet
Twins, I would say.
Don't they just Rose.the net has alot to answer to though
how old is this little cherub, lilliann?
My GP diagnoses over the phone these days which is just as bad.
15, so not so little and definately not a cherub
The most mixed up age of all. She will grow out of it.
* chuckling * lilliann. the age where they know it all, and the olds know nothing. good lick with that one.
It doesn't help with what the schools tell them now either on things as she always hears the worst that can happen with everything
ahem * luck*
Thanks Rose, i definately need it.
That is the pessimist coming out, Lilli.
My daughter at 15 told the counsellor at school a long tale of woe. She organised a flat for her and she came home one Friday and said she was leaving on the Saturday and off she went.
Ecola, Lilliann..lol Is that an over dose of E numbers in fizzy drinks :-)
good grief jaxx. did the counsellor not contact you at all?
g'day zooz
Then she came home from a school trip with the largest bag of condoms you have ever seen. She had been to Family Planning and told them she was pregnant and, after a negative test, this was their preventative treatment.
Hello, Rose :-)
No, she had written across the file - parents not to be informed.
oh, lord, i am truly grateful i only had boys.
She made me laugh the other day as she was talking about me and ecoli and she won't be able to do something, i can't remember exactly what it was but it was to do with an everyday thing but someone got hurt doing it and i said it's like crossing the road, but you could get knocked over by a car, then i said, 'Oh you've already done that' and she replied 'Aye, that's something i can cross off my bucket list'.
Omg Jaxx.So what happened? did she live with you again?
* giggling* lilliann. a bucket list?? at her age?? * eyebrows disappearing into hairline*
They weren't wasted - her brother used them all up when he got engaged, some ten years later.
jaxx, i'd have been worried that they had perished in that amount of time....lol
She did come back but not until she had gone from hovel to hovel and realised that home was quite pleasant really.
Hi Zoom.No she is a pessimist and down on everything. She's not allowed pop
Good for him Jaxx
I was just messing with your spelling, Lilliann I knew what you meant really :-)
Duh! I meant ebola :)
She arrived with this wounded bird of a boyfriend who shared our home for about 18 months and then annoubced he was leaving as he didn't know what to say to us!
announced even. Typing is rotten today
Rose, it's not just the 'bucket list' but if getting knocked down by a car is on it, i hate to think of what else is on it :)
Did he never speak to you then Jaxx?
I take it she didn't intend the accident to be fatal?
hi lilliann...long time no see....hi jaxx, zoom...
But saying that she was joking, hopefully
Hello, Pen :-)
he'd spent a lot of his childhood hiding from rent collectors as mummy was an alcoholic. he did speak and he certainly ate our meals without complaint. He has a shop in town now and he's really chatty and friendly.
No, it was an accident. It was 7.40 am and in December 2 years ago and her and the driver didn't see eachother. She was airlifted to a hospital with brain injuries and surprised all teh doctors with ehr recovery but the bump hasn't helped her pessemism
g'day pen
Hi Pen, nice to see you. I hope you've been well
LA6?
hi lilliann
hi granny
Hi, Pen and Zoom. All our yesterdays today.
hi jax
hello again zooz
lilliann, what an amazing story of courage! it would have to have taken a lot of grit and determination to recover from something like that.
That must have been tough for him as a child but i'm sure you and your husband helped him with giving him a home
hey ya mlf
mlf, legal, la6
good clue granny
and she's still at home. She must care a lot for you. Wouldn't do to show it of course, lack of street cred.
pb for me
hi granny, mlf....i am fine, thanks, lilliann....
Yes, it did take her a few months to fully recover but it obviously wasn't her time and i think she had some 'Angels' looking out for her.It was a tough time for us too, i never want to go through that again.
I have crawled past halfway but I am finding this grid hard going
jaxx it hasnt been easy for me either
Is TE6 a plural?
nm found it
It is like guns at dawn alot of her and me but i must admit she does tell me things that i'd never thought she would, so i'm happy about that and i think she knows where her bread is buttered. She has a mature head on her shoulders and always has done as she has mainly been brought up with adults
Hi Mlf
TE 5/12 2nd one help please?
Same as the TE 6/21 minus last letter.
I don't have a te5 yet Mlf, sorry

very different
Hey picky picky..lol
Who cares, as long as you ahve a roof over your head:)
Zoom, why aren't you flying the Isle Of Man flag anymore?
Mlf, add a cons to the 4
Err...because I have never flown it :-)
Or Isle of Wight, duh
lillian to the end of one of the 4;s?
Or a pointy trianglar thing over your head :P
I am..What can you see?
The Isle of white doesn't have it's own flag
Oh yes it does...I have it as my icon :-)
the first ta45.I don't kn ow how many ta4's you have Mlf
My bad, I thought your flag matched your icon.
okay got it never mind
No probs, Molly :-)
mmm, but it's not it's own as it vovers a few countries Zooz:)
The Isle of Man has 3 legs doesn't it?
Yes it does.
My typing sucks tonight
I wonder why that is.I'll have to google
Is PA 5 a word i would know?
yes, mlf...i would think you'd know it...
Molly,on the bright side, you'll remember that now :D
The Isle of Wight council a few back, Lilliann, Had a competition for the best flag design. My icon one won it.So is now the offical flag for the Isle of Wight.
A few years back*
pen help please?
I am not the owner of the design by the way. I just have it as my icon :-)
pa + to allow somebody to do something, *** them do it...
PA + to rent?
Zoom, Yay for you!!!
thanks got it
Oh, i didn't realize that as my husband has told us our flag is a red cros surrounded with white and black squares, so like the St Georges Cross
i was looking at the wrong P
Why two flags for the UK?
It's the Durham flag and it is similar to the St Georges but different colours
Every county has it's own flag in the UK
Well sorry, let me clarify as I don't believe in the "United Kingdom". Why two flags for England?
This will explain it better than I could, Molly.
http://tinyurl.com/nqul3f4
Li6?
Got it Zoom, thanks.
Same as the le 4/6 before it
Add alien on a bicycle .
We have a flag for England which is the St Georges flag and the Union jack is for great Britain.Scotland, wales and Northern Ireland all have their own flags
thanks got it
Don't forget the white ensign, lil. The one for the merchant navy.
Glad you got it, Mlf, As I put le instead of li. Sorry if I confused you.
Apparently, i'm wrong as my husband says the Union Jack is only on ships.Ours is the union flag, but i've always known it as the union jack
zooz i saw what you said and figured it out from there
Nice one, Mlf :-)
Have any of you ever heard of a movie from 1967 called Our Mother's House?
thanks zooz
Not me.
elocate is not recognized as a word and i just looked it up on google
No Mlf
Off to read my book.Happy babbling everyone.Toodle pips!
Goodnight Zoom, sweet dreams and take care.

I don't have it yet Peri
ok
Peri, ends like San Francisco state
ty Molls
I won't be getting that clue then Molly
Los Angeles state? The first three letters?
Oh, aye, ty
Saying that, not all Brits know the state, as alot of Americans' don't know our counties.
Not all American's will know which County that 'Robin Hood' comes from, even though it's a myth, but it is or should be well known to most of us here
And here i meant the UK but he is well kin own all over the world
*known
I'll get off my high horse now and try and find my last 33 words
*giggle* lilliann....{hugs}} hin
Thanks Rose.I'm expecting some punches so hugs are good :D And i'm loving the hin
it's very difficult playing this game given the wide diversity of our language, and it's meanings which vary from country to country.
hello, peeps
g'day TO
Very true Rose and the spelling and the history and everything else...i could go on and on...which i normally do because i'm a chatterbox :D
Hi TO, lovely to see you
lilliann, i am such a colonial. geography has never been my strong point. in fact my eyes have been lnown to glaze over....lol...rather like when himself starts sprouting about computer programs.
g'day, rose. hi, lil.
ugh * known*
lol Rose, i'm the same with both.I'm not good with anything technological and i forgot the word and at to ask hubby. I think, he wishes he was away again as i've had to ask for loads of words tonight and it's like 'give us a clue' with me
TO, 'National sandwich day was Mine and hubby's 14th wedding anniversary. If he had been here and i'd known about it i would have made him a big meaty sandwich as he loves subs and the bairn too
I am not really here. I am at wrk. Just wanted to say hi. Rose catch up with me soon. I am about 40 min from the shops
i am craving a po boy
hey ya herin. i know it sounds banal, but i have been thinking of you a lot lately. will do hun.
((Herin)lovely to see you.Where do you work?
Po boy TO?
the sandwich icon
Had it been another American state, I would not have clued it that way. But since that state seems to be known worldwide for it's earthquakes and movie settings, I though it was safe to do so. Not to mention that everyone seems to know that Ru lives there.
see ya later, lil, i must go
Oh, i didn't know that was what the icon was called, in fact i can't even remember it....sadly
I am doing volunteering at a legal center but right now zero nada nofing to do.
Bye TO, take care hin and lovely to see you
lilliann google it, then wipe the keyboard
By TO
later TO, have a good one
likewise, you two
Rose honestly were I am now is dead easy to get to you.
Am i missing something? why is Subway icon called Po boy when it doesn't look like a boy and has a n arrow...Am i being thick?
Or is it a joke?
Good for you Herin, hope more work comes your way
Lili - Wiki says - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Po'_boy
I just couldn't think of the state Molly and i forget where everyone comes from.I forget who i spoke to yesterday and what about, sadly
lilliann, po boy is a contraction of poor boy. the origanal 'sandwich' was made and handed out to striking men, called 'poor boys' by the maker of the 'sandwich' later the term became synonymous with the actual roll filled with meat etc.
Ah, ty Herin, now i get it
Thanks aswell Rose, i just came back from looking at the site that herin gave me to your explanation. i think your's is better
Being lazy
Apparently it was filled with meat
I always thought it was oysters
Hello all. Just starting after a very lazy day. Somedays are meant to be slow and this one was.
HI Gmere. Lovely to see you
Hi Gran Mere
g'day g'mere
herin, it originally was...but the filling changed with the time of the strike
Hi Stidmere
Well the site you gave me Herin, said meat
I guessed that. It was something I always thought.
Hi lilliann, Molly, granny and herin! what a nice group for visiting!!
oysters? Not a poor boy thing now
Why oysters?
Cheap to get, as anyone could get them from the sea?
lilliann if you read further on that site, the origin of the term, an explanation is given.
New Orleans is right on the sea
Oysters because it is a Cajun/Louisiana sandwich and oysters are not expensive there.
okay i have resisted long enough. i really want some toast and honey. brb
Aye Rose, you were right , i never read that far, sadly but now i understand
Thanks Molly (that too I have the not awake today)
I did go back and read and thanks Molly for explaining
Lots of seafood comes into Louisiana due to the abundance of fishing in the Gulf.
It's known for Shrimp isn't it?
Shrimp, flounder, oysters, anything that fishermen catch in the Gulf.
If i remember from Forest Gump.
I am stomping about the office in 3 and a half inch heels (think the size of an iphone 4)
Flounder...That's a flat fish? I'm sorry but i'm not good on fish.Dory was a flounder in the film i think and i can't even remember the film's name even though it is a well known film
I need to dive in and finish as my husband has gone to bed and will be on his phone for about 10/20 minutes and i want to go and cutch up
Dory in Finding Nemo was a Royal Blue Tang fish not a flounder
Can you get shell fish in the Gulf?
There you go, i got that wrong.I'm sure there is a flounder in one of the films
cl 5/14, the last one, pls
pl of the 4 before it, sounds a bit like horses hooves
ty lili
Yw Bichon and i'm now diving back in
Back again:) Do you have el5/12, the last one Bichon please
back...to run awayto be married
Rose do you want anything from Tassy>?
Thank you Rose, sorry i needed the loo
Sorry too much information
don't think so, herin. when are you going?
lilliann. s'okay, hin. we's all big people here. no sniggering on my side of the screen.
:)
Going home for Christmas
And with the loo thing, it just happens that i found the fe5 ...
nice, herin. is the bf going with you?
Yep. Cost us close to $800 in tickets stupid christmas stupid fare hikes
really?? you're not going over on the ferry then?
That was the ferry. It was about the same for air fare
Someone farted about too long and we missed out on cheap tickets
is that an overnight or day sailing?
lol, and you aren't pointing the finger at all, are you?
Day sail there and back.
And bloody oath I am slacker boy is slacker
Staying overnight around Devonport and driving to Hobart the next day. Not safe to drive to parents house in the dark on an unsealed road with no street lights.
tell him you are going to take the difference off his christmas present...lol
how long since you were there, herin?
4 years since I seen the old man
i hope you enjoy it, herin. it's been 3 years since don and i have been. the only part we haven't "done" is the top left corner bit. we have travelled through it, but not stopped for a good look.
Done the bottom bit but costs have been a lot this year
oh my. have just thought of something i would like. could you please go to the salamanca market, and bring back a few pieces of fudge? it doesn't matter what flavour, we loved them all. the stall was in the outside area.
Can see what we can do. Tend to avoid the markets like the plague SOOOOOOoooo busy.
it probably doesn't have to be the market. i seem to remember quite a few outlets for fudge down there. pick one.
So you want fudge any where then?? Can do if I remember
it all has the best taste. it must be to do with the milk over there. the only ice-cream equal to tassy ice-cream is the new zealand ice-cream.
Rose, Have you ever had British Fudge?
Sorry for interupting your conversation
I love fudge and my favourite is rum raisin, but i can't eat a lot of it now(fudge) as it's too sweet for me
There was a place in Riversdale that sold ice cream OMG it was amazing. My mother tried to snarfle it from me and it was like NOPE mine.
lilliann, no, hin, i haven't. when we are over next year, i will have to try some.
