Yesterday and Wed, he did the ceilings in the kitchen and B.'s bathroom and painted over the old kitchen wallpaper which was only dirty, not peeling or anything.He wanted to remove it and staryt fresh, but \I felt that would take longer, be more messy and cost more

we didn't wait much more than 5 minutes for our first 3 courses. and the flow was kept up. the waiter was incredible. the restaurant was nearly 3/4 full, and he was on his own.

I am glad their is a meal program at your school. It always helps when they are not hungry and very few of them are willing to tell about it.

Our school received a grant to feed ALL the students breakfast and lunch for free this year -- we have so many who need the help anyway that we qualified for a full-school program.
I was always proud of those who could admit that some food would definately help them feel better. I had a stash in my desk or locker.

I keep some snacks, but I cannot afford to feed 25 children once a day... not even with little snacks. So I dole them out sparingly.
That's great about the school meals. Kids do so much better with adequate nourishment.
I agree, tor -- their growing minds and bodies cannot function when they are thinking about empty tummies.
not so much of a need if there is a food program. I worked in middle schools that had canteens where they could pay. If they couldn't pay, tough luck
we have that happen sometimes, too -- in the more affluent schools (like the one last year) some children were always "volunteering" at lunch in order to earn a meal.
I don't understand how we can live in a society that so little values our children.
I am glad they found a way to meet their needs while helping others. Smart kids
they were smart kids! :-) I just regret that they missed all the clubs that met at lunch. :-( Maybe someday...
