surprise, I made it to babble. Good morning all.
Hi and hugs, Sprite
How's Tim and how are the rest of you?
hi Liz :) Thanks for your lovely mail.
Sorry it was written so quickly!
Tim is asleep, thank God. I just came back from dropping off the car, will go back to bed for a few hours soon. Rob slept until now, is showering and will shop and go to the pharmacy. And Caya is off to school. I just emailed her mentor that she didn't sleep much last night.
I loved receiving it, Liz. Thanks so much.
What a horrible evening for you all.
I guess you keep checking on ?Tim.
yeah it was. But I am ever so grateful things didn't turn out worse.
Are you coping OK.
yes, we are. Looks like it is going ok. He wakes up, is clearminded, and goes back to sleep.
that's good. Was it a car?
I don't think I have started coping yet, lol. Am still in overdrive managing everything.
Like I said, watch out for yourself too.
no, a moped. Came from behind Tim, and was blinded by a car in the opposite direction. Never saw Tim and hit him from behind.
Poor Tim. Was the moped guy OK?
yes, good advice. As a mother you focus solely on your child. But am gonna grab some sleep while Tim is still sleeping himself.
Good idea. Take advantage of the quiet.
mostly ok. Hurt his hip, but not seriously. He didn't have to go to the ER. Some damage at his moped. Tim's bicycle is totalled.
Better the bike than Tim.
such a coincidence: the moped guy is a friend of Tim's.
Oh! I bet he feels awful!
exactly what we said, Liz. Can't begin to tell you how grateful we are. This could easily have been a whole other story.
So happy for that but still a huge shock.
yeah he did, poor guy. We called him from the hospital to ask how he was doing and to tell him what the news was with Tim. Kid was pretty shaken.
That was kind of you.
common decency, I think. It is not like he did it on purpose and he got quite a shock as well.
I'm sure he'll want to visit Tim!
{{hugs}} darling sprite.
Of course common decency! But with your attention on Tim that was still kind.
yes I think so too. And we will have to get the paperwork done with his parents, I think. For the insurance. No idea how that will all pan out.
*hugs rose* Hello darling.
Easily I hope.
ugs, Rose
H
{{hugs}} liz girl
yeah it is not clear at the moment. I seriously doubt Tim had his lights on. So we have the car with the blazing headlights that is to blame, the kid that actually hit Tim, and Tim himself. Ugh. Such a mess to sort out.
just read back through chog. it would appear both riders are fortunate to have survived.
So true.
so very true, rose. When they told us in the hospital about his cheekbone being broken and a small fracture at the back of his skull, I realised that with a little more impact... well, you know.
i know, sweetie. thank heaven neither of them fell into the on-coming traffic.
Amen
that would have been so much worse. Thank goodness.
why do car drivers feel they must have the headlights on high beam so often.
good morning
will you be able to trace the car? do you have security cameras on the roads over there?
beats me, rose. It may also be that the road goes up there a bit, which makes the angle of the headlights go up some.
hey ruby :)
Hi and hugs Ruby
{{hugs}} ruby
I think the driver actually stopped, and left his details. Don't know exactly, I think the parents of the moped kid have those.
well, someone with a sense of duty....
The right thing to do
The right thing to do
Sorry
everybody involved has been more than decent, thank God. I was impressed with the carefulness of the emergency car personel and the hospital people.
wow,I just read over a little of th chog! Poor Sprite and Tim and the other kid!!!
Did wet, slippery roads have anything to do with it? Here, everything is wet and covered with fallen leaves
That made everything a bit easier for you :)
yeah, it was an intense night here, ruby. But things could have been a lot worse. Am so grateful Tim is sleeping in his own bed here and will be ok in a few weeks.
very dangerous for driving and even walking
not really, ruby.
Time for dinner, so hugs to all (and Tim)
it did, Liz. Enjoy your dinner :) *hugs* also for your husband
sprite, not wishing to cause too much more angst for you, but are you checking Tim regularly? concussion can have some surprising effects. just make sure he is breathing.
enjoy, liz. i hope you have a lovely night.
yeah I am doing that and he is fine.
{{ROSIE}}
how far away from the hospital are you, sprite?
{{hugs}} ruby
we had to go to Amsterdam, because our local hospital doesn't have a jaw specialist in their emergency cr4. So, about 30 kilometers.
so if something were to go awry, you could use the local hospital?
yeah if it were very urgent, we could.
he must go back to the Amsterdam hospital on wednesday
poor kid, he has to go through so much before it starts to improve.
ugh yes, don't envy his situation at all. He'll be in a lot of pain before things will start to improve.
from memory, tepid mouth rinses are usually the way to go.
ok, will remember that. Rob is getting him some soup, appelsauce and yoghurt stuff.
after every meal, snack. the aim is to keep the suture line as clean as possible.
ah ok, that makes sense.
in a day or two, add a little salt to the water. not just now though...it will sting
Rob's boss was very nice too. Rob had texted him that he would be late this morning, and his boss said not to worry about a thing and take his time.
ok rose. No, won't torture him with salt now :)
ok, am fading fast. Thanks for your support and friendship. *hugs* for now.
can he4 the timer going off. i think dinner is on the way. xoxox to you, dearest. hang in there, it will look better tomorrow, and evry day it will be better for him.

Re and use your ears:)
Ty blue
Yw
The other RE6 is more backside?
yes :)
goodmorning everyone
Hi Crossy, laundry is done.
Here for a few before I'm off to the gym :)
wow! Wish I had your energy this morning, sukee!
I don't know how much energy I have :) Haven't been out in a week due to a cold. Got to get back in the groove :)
Have my boots out for the first time this year, such a hassle.
I have been lucky this year and have yet to get a cold/flu, but I did make sure to get this years flu shot nice and realy.:)
early
Although, they are so comfortable. I have ugs with a knitted upper :)
I got my flu shot then I got the cold :)
But, I think it was coming before I got the shot
Well, we all know that just getting the shot has nothing to do with getting the cold or flu afterwards. The shot is made from the dead virus and you cannot catch anything from it.
yes, you most likely had it coming on before the shot
I know :)
Since I work out at a place attached to a senior's centre I stayed away. Don't want to spread my germs.
Good stuff. i wish more people had your consideration. They come to work/school, coughing, and sneezing and wheezing, acting the hero, and infecting everyone else.
They are expecting 3 cm of snow here today. I see it has started already.
I hated that when sick people used to come into work. Yet, if you took too much time off you were the one management was not happy with.
we already have 2 inches staying on the ground and it suppsed to snow again today
It has snowed here but disappeared in hours. I guess this will stay.
I had the 4-wheel drive going on a trip up into the hills yesterday. i was blowing and drifting pretty good.

Listening to the new version of Do They Know It's Christmas. It sounds good.
I am avoiding all Christmas music like the plague for now:)
I hear you, haven't listened to any yet, other than seeing this clip of them recording this song. My birthday is the end of this month so I really don't think of Christmas until it passes :_)
I did start to watch Love Actually yesterday, but found it too early :)
And when the time comes, I also plan to only shop at stores that are not afraid to say "Merry Christmas" in their advertisements. it rankles the heck out of me this time of year, all the political correctness.
Doesn't bother me, other people have holidays too.
But, I say Merry Christmas, and I consider myself an atheist.
thats right. We do not say "Happy candle day" to our jewish friends so what homogenize Christmas?
I honor each festivity by saying the name of it properly to those who celebrate it.
easy eh?
Happy Holidays (Holy Days) is fine for me, it's been used most of my life and people didn't seem to get offended them.
it has become way too commecial for my liking anyways. the mrs. and I have toned it right down now our kid is old enough to have kids of his own
darn typos.. just translate lol
I exchange gifts with two people, that is it. I spend Christmas Day watching Doctor Who and eating :)
I got what you said :)
lol@ Doctor Who binge on Christmas day:))
Yep there is always a new episode then and I bought this season at iTunes :)
Hi all :)
Hi Liz
I have never seen any of the newer episodes, so when you girls day Dr. Who, my mind conjures up an image of that guy with the afro and the brightly coloured scarf.
Also looking forward to Doctor Who at Christmas - in fact, can't wait!
howdy, liz
With Santa! :)
Hi Crossy and Sukee
We keep talking about how it'll all resolve.
do not know what year that particular Dr. Who is
That was Tom Baker, years ago, Crossy :)
I just love that Santa and his elves have Cockney accents :)
Used to watch it on the old P.B.S channel 17
Well, of course!!! Duh! But then, I'm a Londoner so what would you expect me to say! LOL!
Tom Baker - Doctor Who - 1974 - 81
I liked him, that is when I really got into it even though I had watched since the beginning.
I am loving Peter Capaldi though.
cool:) I remember that, Coronation street and I watched tons of Antiques roadshow, both the american and british version
But it was lovely to see a brief reprisal of his role in the 50th anniversary episode.
Also love Peter Capaldi - so dark!
Yes, I knew it was him as soon as I heard his voice and saw the back of his head.
I liked the idea of the doctors being able to revisit previous incarnations.
Well, I have to run for now. Take care all.
Have a good day, sukee
It is interesting to watch a British version and an american version of Antiques Roadshow back to back and note the differences-- in the american version they will be looking at some ultra-rare bit of pottery, and the expert will say" This is worth $500,000.00," and the person will lose their mind, but on the British version they will say " This bit of pottery is worth 3 million pounds!," and the person will say "..oh...nice.. how lovely" I love the calm reserve even in the face of all that money:)
That's a laugh. Haven't watch the Antiques Roadshow for years. Only ever saw the Brit version with Arthur Negus.
So reserved!
Love how they take it all with a grain of salt.. so cool and laid back:)
So British!!!!
" 5 million pounds you say? Oh, how lovely... is tea ready yet?"
lol - bring out the cucumber sandwiches.
cut the crust off please
And brown bread of course
I am that way to a point as my welsh blood shines through, but if someone else gets all wrangly, it will get me going as well
:)
Not seeing my last 9 words, so I think I'll leave them til tomorrow. Have a good day, Crossy :)
tc liz
mm, snowing like crazy atm.
cool, just checked our weather site and they have a snow squall warning issued (sometimes it sucks being on the shores of a large body of water) and they say 20 cm+ of blowing and drifting snow today;)
that's 8 inches for my american friends;)
<---- wishes we were getting snow
Howdy, car. Would be more than happy to sedn you some:)
send
it is an adjustment again is all. Soon there will be 4 feet of the stuff groomed on the hills and we will all be driving along on hard-pack dusted with sand, blithely careening through intersections at 80 kph with a timmies coffee in one hand:)
40 feet on the hills*
nbt...something tells me that is an accomplishment with this grid.
I am multi-tasking. i have the grid open in one window, and my current assignment story open in another. This makes for a great story, but a lousy finish as far as babble grids are concerned;(

hello....can someone please give me STATS for the 8's?...
good morning all
de8/50, te8/40, th8/55,
ty flosey....and hello....
yw pen
Hi all. Cousin Earth--are you here now?
hi....
hi Scrabbler - Cousin Earth?
I am worried about the weather--snow today has made roads quite slippery. Then a big storm will start tonight through Wed and might bring up to 2 feet of snow.
My cousin, with Babble name Earth, plays here but doesn't chat unless I ask for her.
oooh sounds like Winter has set in
Quite abruptly, flosey.
we had first heavy frost the other day, picked the kiwis - first year we've had fruit - all of 14
Where do you live that you grow kiwis, flosey?
small island off west coast - between mainland and Vancouver Island
I thought so, but how do kiwis thrive there?
well, we were told they would so planted - must also have a male vine - lost the male and had to replace it
Amazing.
perhaps in a somewhat sheltered spot - really don't know much about them - had the vine growing up over a small deck - was good for shade until 2 years ago we had flowers - the entire flower plus bud fell off, couple of years ago planted another male - he produced one flower - that was sufficient to fertilize our female
Good work, flosey.
this year the petals only fell, leaving the tiny nub that became a kiwi - now we have to wait for them to continue to ripen
it was quite exciting
fw and off to read - be back after bridge tonight
good morning all. I do not see the 8's even with the stats and still have blank tiles
do you want a clue?

hello
hi...
*wonders if Scrabs has other cousins named Land and Sea
my job exposes me to too much comma and apostrophe use. I think it's rubbing off on me.
use meaning abuse
Third column E?
Haha, Ruru. Air, Fire, Wind, etc.
hi scrab
good morning nutty
howdy ruru/scrabs/etc
it's really the exclamation marks that would worry me
hi evan
if you had to deal with a lot of those I mean
I have a co-worker that frequently uses exclamation marks (2 and 3) in messages to other co-workers
anybody?
mlf....one who makes a salary...
i have like 11 words, I'm not one to ask ;-)
its ok evan
ty pen
I have an ex who lives by the exclamation mark
nbt
it's so.....valley girl....lol....
reminds me of middle school....
that's funny.. that is what I think.. 7 exclamation marks ? really?
I agree with Pen. Over use of the exclamation point is very Jr. High
And here, what's with "TY!!"...is someone excited about saying thank you?
TE 7/8 clue please?
Or upper case letters.
you think!!!!
mlf....glass home for plants...
it's very "look at me" that is typical of pre-teens and young teens...
and there are those phrases i can't stand (but even use still) "it is what it is" and "seriously?"
so the TE 8 doesnt go with that?
I think of it more as I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!
sorry....that is the 8....the 7 is a different word...
as a school psychologist, i think it's both.... ;o)
some peopel think when it comes to chat we can't "hear"
OMG! LOL LIKE I CFB WTF U JUS DID! ROFLMAO
or WHATEVER!
i have both 7s pen
Ha evan
What about "I was just saying...."?
as i welcome myself to the new adult generation of "kids these days"
ah, mlf....since you asked about te7/8, i assumed you did not have either...
ruby i know where did that come from??
I do that every day now nutty as the kids drive by with their Rap music shaking my house
I do like, however, the expression "screw the pooch". I googled it and found its interesting history. Something about the sound of it, strikes me very funny
i had the 7/32 not the 28
*calls PETA on Ruby*
uh oh
now i need the 8
*well a Vet Student out here in Davis took it one step too far with a sheep and got arrested
Could I get a clue for de7, please?
i do not have the th 8...
No, the new (and totally over used phrase is) just sayin'
so....ewe :-D
oh.. I use that one occasionally
the 8 that goes ith one of the te 7's
sorry typo
de 8....de + not the FBI + prefix meaning re....
speaking of which, they've brought the sheep back to "mow" the field above our house, a truly charming sight and sound
I love seeing sheep and goats in pastures.
Rent a sheep?
i am confused.....the te 8 i have does not go with one of the 7's....are you referring to the th 8?
i thought it did my fault pen i will find it thanks
there's a farm for sale down the road that has sheep. i would seriously consider buying, except that's not the direction i want to move.
*draws MLF maps for Penquis*
mlf....what are you looking for?
What's nice about this is that it cleans up the long grass for winter without using machines. It is great to watch when they move them from one section to another (it's a very big field) with the help of their two border collies
what do you do with the field Ruby?
i got the de 7 thanks pen
Mostly just admire it; it is the only open space left in this little but desirable village
i am just looking for an 8
i found the th 8...
there is no AN 8
I used to pick wild flowers there, but am a little bit afraid of vipers that could be lurking
an as in indefinite article, ru.... ;o)
dinner, see you later, kids
oh..eww
bye ruby...
was that about my dinner, ru?
no the vipers
I hate snakes
ruru no any 8 is what i mean
I feel the same way
ruru me too i hate snakes or spiders
I like snakes but am afraid of vipers and they are endemic to this area
mlf.....th 8 refers to the body section that includes the chest....adjective....
I like spiders, too, but only outdoors, not my "Tergaria Gigantea" that was in the kitchen sink
(almost as big as my hand)
whoa
what's a tergaria gigantean a tarantula?
it's about the same size but not hairy, just brown and very ugly.
ewww.. that would set me back for the day
A heart surgeon is referred to as a th8 surgeon
And it kept trying to climb out of the sink and I kept spraying it with hot water to force it down the drain.
I tell the spiders in my house there are better things to eat outside
*going to the sink to make sure the stopper is permanently inserted*....
lol Ruby
I've learned to NEVER leave pots to soak
do you have a disposal?
Hi ruby - stopped in at the right moment to see your post about spiders -reminds me of a hilarious article by David Sedaris - have you ever seen it (New Yorker)
thanks pen got it
nbt and nbs
let me see if I can find it
i am off....bbl to find last 18....
Buon giorno, JBV.
http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2008\n/03/24/april-paris - he named it April!
bye penq
Yes, I love David Sedaris. The spider he was feeding was an Argiope and I had one in front of my house the same year and used to feed it flies.
hi Scrabbler! come stai?
Molto bene.
I named mine Caliope
: )
I heard you're in the way of a big snowstorm
*thinking maybe the chat will be fixed when i return*.... :o|
*woof*
bye rubes
Yes, JBV, and I am anxious. The ride was quite slippery this morning.
I don't like black ice either
well if there's enough snow, roads will be closed, I imagine
lessee.. spiders, snakes, black ice..
Ruby, do you mean Tegenaria, the wandering spider? Is it a he or a she in your sink. They are only looking for lurve. The he usually does the wandering - he has huge palps on the front so you can tell the difference. the best thing to do is scoop them up in a glass and put them outside again. They do not come up the drainpipe, they are too big, they usually get in through an open window.
Ebola, asteroids, disasters on end
lima beans, liver...star wars movies...abba...
We might get 2 feet of snow by Wednesday afternoon.

You will find your lovely granddaughter much changed. babies of that age change everyday. Could you Skype?
We will face time on the ipads. Seems to get a better connection
My son was so happy,to see them both. He's missed 4 weeks out of her little life
te8 - compound: first 4 of te5/10 + ar4/4
he6...he + high point tile + abbreviation for Irish revolutionary organization
cyber did you find the te word you were looking for?
There that is not so bad. At least she will get to know your face and who you are. My neighbour skyped his daughter in NZ. He got his grandson who was 6 months old when they emigrated. He ran screaming to his mother about the strange man on Skype.
Found the te 8 - te + double letter + operatic solo

latin word for "approx" (ci5)
what's up, bichon?
ci 5/14, means about in terms of date and time
ty book doctor. FW.
woo hoo mixi !!!!!!
woot Mixi
had to finish before my piano student gets here.
i'll be plinking of you, mixi 8-)
That's what she'll be doing too.
i had piano lessons from age 4 to age 12, so i feel as though i have some insight 8-)
*Waits to hear why Bich is having such a miserable day*
We've had pouring rain and temps around 40. That's why. And, the dogs won't poop
oh, dear, time for the castor oil
That's not the problem. Bichons don't like to get their curls wet. They'd rather be constipated.
shoveling off a spot doesn't work, i take it?
It's just rain out there. If I let them go down cellar, they wouldn't have a problem. But I won't
hmmmm
It's supposed to let up a bit this evening
can they swim?
please!
So, I assume leaving them outside until they do their business is out?
Unless I want the neighbors to hear moaning and howling and call animal control. These are high maintenance dogs
no, i was just thinking, my brother has dogs that can't swim because they're so squat and dense (bulldogs?) and i was wondering if your dogs have this problem (i am not a dog expert here)
No, they can swim, but only if their life depended on it. They wouldn't voluntarily go into water
i see, kind of like cats in that
My neighbors with Labs and Goldens take their dogs out in all sorts of weather and they love it. Mine like the outdoors, but not wet
I must be part Bichon.
I don't like to get my curls wet either.
me too, i'm not a big fan of bad weather, but at least rain doesn't keep me from going
I miss the game Tangleword, I can't find it anywhere
Does snowfall bother the pampered pooches as well, bichon?
not as much. I don't let them go in deep snow, but they don't seem to have as much of a problem
So they will poop in the snow but not when it's raining?
Guess bichons are not good sellers in the U.K then lol
right. If it's snowing heavily, maybe not.
ai7 pls
I just watched the movie Harold and Maud. It is one of my favorite movies.
When we had 3 feet of snow one winter. We had to dig out the driveway by increments so there would be a place for them.
Plane staff
Yes, a great movie
I am working on the end of that word, jan
note the point value, Peri
A long-haired lab we once had used to love the deep snow-- only problem was removing all the snowballs dangling from his belly and legs aftetwards

What is a long haired Lab crossy?

Wgat are those horns called they use in venezuela at games?
Vuvuzelas...now that's a word unlikely to be found in a grid.
South Africa
Yes,like that, bichon. He would haul his own weight in snow into the house
But I can see why you thought Venezuela, given the v's and z...
That's it ty jan
It's interesting that often when we can't quite think of a word, we still have a sense of what sounds it contains.
de7 pls
Sorry, don't have it.
don't have it either
Vuvuzela, oh, the places I could go with that. But I won't.

hello, that was my cat talking...
he has always been a loner but in the last few months, he has been more attached to me. He is dying. Kidney disease and hyperthyroidism.
hi...sorry about your cat...
he has lived a good life. I got him from the shelter. He is a black cat, he wasn't a kitten, he was in isolation because he had bit someone, and the owner surrender sheet said he peed outside of the cat box. Not sure he would have been adopted if I hadn't. 4 years ago, he was diagnosed with the hyperthyroidism and I spent 1500 treating him with radioactive iodine, the cancer came back. Not much I can do.
no, sounds like you have done as much as you could!...
Phand,I am sorry about your kitty. We have two black cats and love them both
a stray has been hanging around my apartment complex....my neighbor may take her/him? in....friendly, attractive cat...
sorry to hear about your cat, phan ... but glad that the two of you found each other.
i work with a woman whose cat has just been diagnosed with kidney disease. she's in for the long haul, too.
it's hard watching the decline.
rasta, are yu watchng? I'm showing this game to Jan Griimes who sends greetimgs.
yes, it's hard, phan. always is. but you'll know when it's time to let him go.
firewords! tx all cluers. hugs to you phan

awesome, now I am chatting with my middle child and finding out she is having panic attacks.
ohhhh no. how far away?
an hour away. She is a Towson Senior.
i hope she's able to calm down a little - maybe some visualization exercises? if not, she might need to go to a clinic :(
She has started going to the on campus therapist. She is recommending antianxiety meds.
I hope that is in conjunction with coping skills.
i hope so, too - one without the other is like wearing one sock
yeah
so she's about 22? hard age to ask questions without "prying"
she's 21
she volunteered the info so that's good
that's better than good :)
he6/36 please?
he + former coin of Italy, but use the high point tile at the beginning.

yup gershin would work too.
did you try terroir, une?

I tried, had to try

i tried warrior TWICE
hi diane, kje, everyone
cold night in nashville for a football game
hi welki
chilly here too... gues it is time to close the window
can't imagine sitting outside at that game!!
are you at the game?
not me, kje!
me? nooooo - watching it on television, in my warm living room in my cold province :)
It was cold here in Edmonton yesterday too.... but still many fans bundled up ! Hopefully, it will be warmer in Calgary for next week's game.... work on it, will you, welki? !!

oh - that delicata squash looked lovely. did it come out as good as it looked?
it was fantastic! and very very easy
will def make again. the bf scarfed it down
found it, ty
think i'll try it, too - thanks
the skin is interesting - feels hard like a winter squash, tough to cut, but completely softened in cooking and edible
i've never seen it up here, but next time i venture south, i'll look for it
hmmm - i have an old slicing machine. wonder if it would cut through and make even slices
it came in my CSA box
nice surprise!
te8?
I just got that one.... sounds like the word when we used to make a minature garden in a glass bowl..... and maybe it is !
miniature ecosystems
^5 diane
I guessed correctly.... one of the plural forms.
ty, got it!
They used to be quite a fad.... I remember making one with my girls 40 years ago !!
diane, have you ever seen delicata squash? http://tinyurl.com/mrv6hor
No I haven't... was wondering what it was when you mentioned it a few minutes ago. I will look.
here's the recipe kje and i were talking about: http://tinyurl.com/m7aqurx
they are pretty! I do like zucchini and acorn squash.
My hubby doesn't care much for squash though... he says it tastes like "nothing" LOL
i get that about sweet potatoes - hmpf
I love winter squash - acorn, butternut, spaghetti, red kuri... all of them
(looking up red kuri)
I love sweet potatoes to
too
well aren't they the cutest pumpkin imposters!
they are cute
Now, that looks delicious.... I especially like the pistachio nut "adornment" !
red kuri came in my box roo... I just eat whatever they give me
it's good, diane
found a recipe for red kuri au gratin - now that sounds really good
hi. i've been making lots of delicata.. it's in my box too and i love that we can eat the peel
yp, it was a good find, doren
three ingredients: kuri, milk and gouda
and no peeling! much easier
mmmmm gouda
made a very scrumptious spaghetti squash casserole tonte wit baby spinach and stuff
squash-heads
I often use spaghetti squash as a noodle base too... a good bolognese is great on it
recipe came from my farm but they stole it from lemon and basil.com it was irresistible. well, at least to my friend and myself
recipe came from my farm but they stole it from lemon and basil.com it was irresistible. well, at least to my friend and myself
it sounds great... post it for me on FB
almost seemed like lasagne... mixed greek yogurt and egg into the squash along with parm and seasoned bread crumbs
if you still have the link
i'll try to figure out how...
uno
cute little red squash.... looks like a giant Hershey's Kiss!
FW!
hang on, i have the link

then there are all these weird veggies in the asian market here I should try
here yu go welki
thanks!
or kj, better
I've got 7 left; I'd better get with it as I think daughter is coming over. As for veggies, I wish my hubby was more adventuresome!
we should cook for each other, diane
thankfully, even though the BF says he isn't a big veggie eater, he eats them all when I make them. I've decided he doesn't really know what food he likes, hasn't been exposed to enough
often true
I do make him eat his "token" broccoli when I cook it, which was last night in a vegetable medley!
he kept saying he didn't like asparagus, but I roasted it with a brown butter balsalmic sauce and he scarfed it down... he seems to be trainable! ; )
well i didnt like aspaeagus either, until i realized they need beither come from cans nor be overcooked!
yep
I cannot think of a vegetable that I don't like.
grew up on canned veg.. ate them when i needed to--- now i love them. fresh!
he tells a funny story re when his brother went off to college, bf was still a teen, visited brother at Berkeley - brother said, you have to try this, it is so good... and served him broccoli. They had never had it not cooked until gray before!
I don't like bell peppers, or brussel sprouts
exactly
i'm not fond of lima beans. just for the record. foods don't disgust me, like they do some people, but i'm still tempted to make a ring of lima beans around the rim of my plate if they're on the menu
no brussels spruts... have we had this convo before or is it nrk/
oh, yes, don't like limas either, unless disguised!
pasty little things aren't they, but very decorative around the edge of a plate !!
we may have had it dorens... lol
oh no! we are repeating ourselves!
deja vu
i like brussels sprouts - all ways, but especially cut in half, sauteed with shallots and garlic in olive oil with a splash of balsamic
horrible texture, lima beans
now see, i alwats iked them, not sure why. called them stack beans and stacked them on my fork...
but i like butter beans - go figure
my mom liked them, so we had them growing up, and we had to eat them
i like roasted brussels sprouts, and my daughter does somethin decadent with bacon
I like brussel sprouts raw... had a great salad of shaved sprouts once
there are several veggies I only like raw, taste different once cooked
yup.. they're great in salad
you need a kitchenaid to slice up sprouts - or you end up with mandolin fingers
then there are broad beans... similar to lima but not so gummy. One of my daughters introduced me to edamame beans which I really like!
I have a kitchen aid!
mandoline
kohlrabi falls in the only raw category for me
i meant cuisinart (i have an old dc10) and an ancient kitchenaid 5 quart - from my martha stewart days *lol*
tastes like a radish when raw... radishy-jicama type flavor. when cooked, they taste like turnips
I have a 48 year old Kenwood Chef.... still going strong and I made cookies in it this afternoon!
really ? kohlrabi? i have only roasted it
good motors in those machines
i would never have tried kohlrabi if a neighbor hadn't made it for me. it's pretty, too
I made it in a soup - tastes like turnip
it is great in a salad
nice chat, ladies - off for the evening. g'night
raw? served how? (bringing one from my box to daughter's for T day) Also she asked or parsnips.
slice kohlrabi thin??
I agree.... good and tasty chat. I have to go too..... night, everyone !
I made matchsticks in a salad... added to a green salad with chicken, apple, cheddar, walnuts, cider vinegar dressing with thyme
night all
sounds ggreat
pretty much all the leftovers we could find in the fridge to make a salad with sunday
gn welki
raw it tastes like a cross between radish and jicama
would it work as crudité?
yes, def... nice and crunchy
fabulous. getting tired of the same old same old
gn diane
I made a great soup if you want that recipe... fast, fish soup, with potatoes, fennel, creme fraiche
sounds good.. can i sub for the creme fraiche with greek yogurt??
dunno, haven't tried, prob
I like creme fraiche, local place here
I'll send you the recipe
i dont have easy local source. thanks. will play with it
http://tinyurl.com/knzvqfl
wine, garlic, fennel... very aromatic
ok, should run too... my feet are getting cold. I need socks!

hi dc, jane
hi all. any clues for the 8s? i have none of them. also have no sevens, but can wait for those.
de8, te8, th8 - thinking how to clue them
de6 - de + part of car which makes sound make it the person who does it - to get the 8
ty Kramer
or is it cosmo?
:)
tried decifer. so funny. not a word though
th8 - th** (nordic god of thunder) + vowel + commander in chief
de driver????
ok thinking
no.. first get the de6 -- de + honk honk
then make it 8
sorry about my bad clues
ty got the de.
th: blocked on who is commander in chief. the president but not in grid.
ceo not in grid.
coo not in grid.
te8 - sounds like a super car (fe7) + add vowel
i got one th 8. it means relating to the chest.
commander-in-chief
super car??????? i dont know that.
car name starting with Fe
is the fe a word in this grid?
no
ok.
got te 8. ty.
any clues for the 7s?
ai7 -- stewards in a plane... compound word 3+4
ai7 de7, te7 - open area outside your house, not garden, one which is attached to or part of the house te7
ty got ai and te. how about clues for the other te and the de?
de - de**bel is the measure of sound + i am, he is, you ***
ty got de word. super clue
te - something to do with ground level, rock formation etc.. sort of geographic term
i am sure there are some Rs in that word. but dont know it or the ending. any small words at the end like "are" or "ic"?
the other te7 -- only 2nd last letter is different.
ty got the word.
so now have all 7s. ty cosmo
replace the second last letter of the other te7 with upside down U
ok.. you got it..
Hi all, getting ready to flip flop, if I can stay awake for another 9 minutes or so....lol
