WTG Diz
Hi Nan
ty Liz
fa 7 x2
Thanks, Nan
I keep seeing Kink in the grid.. but that could be wishful thinking
an ha5 cleaved of its usual prefix
agreed, ruru re kink
has anyone found that top n?
ni5 -- a portmanteau
thought that was a suitcase
it's also a word made up of parts of another word, a type of battery in this case.
monkeyed it - ty
nbt, nbs
what is a portmanteau????????i am impressed.
cooee and g'day from me
hi rose
hi nan. all good with you and yours?
yes - and you?
yes, thax, nan. all good here too. looking forward to our bit of a break next week.
if one is more New Zealandish than others..wouldn't they be kiwier?
sounds good to me, ru
one would like to think so, ruru. how are you mate?
i'm ok..
nice to just do a grid and space out
isn't it, just?
no idea on my missing words
do you have all 3 7's?
down to 45 -- enough for tonight. A demain...
sleep well, nan
night nan
I have both fa 7's
ca7/48
ooh found two
one to go
I don't have a ca 7 yet
has the same end as the ca6/33
lol I don't have that one either
ca6, a type of plant
do you need more of a nudge?
not yet
I got the ca 6..
ok.. now just one c
yay, use the same ending
thank you gr.. got it
really odd words tonight
whoot, well done
whew.. wouldn't have found those without a clue
when do you start your traveling next year?
june we hope
nice.. Europe ?
yup, for 6-8 weeks.
hopefully with a big fat settlement so you can stay at 5 star hotels
we figure we won't be getting there again.
did i ever tell you don latin name?
no
titus afishus arsus
?? what's that mean?
he has been saving money for nearly 8 years. he has enough for both our trips, europe and north america/canada
lol, say it very carefully
wow.. good for him
sorry .. it's over my head. but I'm tired too
it's okay. copy it down. when you aren't so tired, just say it as it is written.
going to get ready for bed.. take care
night mate. go and rest your weary head.
hi rose
Hi all. Hi Rose and Flosey :)
hi Liz
How are you Flosey? Did you play bridge tonight?
good morning all
yes, placed 3rd E/W
hi sprite
Jilli and her partner placed 1st E/W
hey flosey and Liz! *hugs*
Hi Sprite? How's everything?
A good night by the sound of it, Flosey
Hugs, Sprite
yes it was, Liz
{{hugs}} sprite. {{hugs}} liz girl. g'day flosey
Hugs, Rose
*hugs* rose. How are you today?
how are you all doing sprite?
i am good today.
ok, I guess. Tim is being an impossible patient, in a very bad mood and we don't blame him. Lots of pain and he doesn't like feeling dependent. The rest of us are trying to catch up on sleep.
That's hard on all of you :(
yeah it is. But mostly on Tim. Wouldn't trade places with him. Or actually I would, if it helped him. But you know what I mean.
poor kid. sprite, i promise it will get better. he is young, and the young heal so quickly. mean while, smile sweetly and offer him a soft jube.
True - of course. The shock as well as the pain.
Sprite, what happened to Tim?
he was in an accident, flosey. Broke his cheekbone, lots of stitches in his face, lots of abrasions, and a mild concussion and a small fracture in his skull.
yeah he is healing already, rose. He took a shower yesterday evening to get rid of all the dried up blood. And put on clothes for his visitors. Lots of ppl wanting to visit from school, great to see how much his friends care.
That must be good for him.
oh, so sorry, Sprite, that would be quite a shock to you as well
it was, flosey. We spent 5 hours in the ER being grateful it wasn't worse. Could easily have been. Thank God this young man has such a hard head.
it's ni4 that his friends want to visit. you may need to vet them though. small doses or Tim may have a relapse.
nice of the school friends to visit, that would be cheer him up
omit that be
yeah, it is cool, rose, we are monitoring. His girlfriend yesterday, today 2 friends who are a little older, and tomorrow a delegation from school.
Knew you'd be sensible about it!
I think so too, that it is good for him to see his friends. As long as they don't swamp him, lol.
was he alone Sprite? anyone else involved in the accident?
he was alone, on his bicycle. Probably without his lights on, sigh. Was hit from behind by a moped that was blinded by a car in the other direction. The car driver stopped and the moped guy too. Moped guy turned out to be a friend of Tim's. Was very shaken. And hurt his hip, but not too badly.
sprite have you caught up on your sleep? how is caya doing? and rob?
more or less, rose. I slept some in the day, yesterday, went to bed early and slept in fits throughout the night. Caya is very tired and refuses to take some time off. Rob went to work late yesterday and early to bed, he is doing ok.
i so wish i could be there for you, sweetie.
*hugs rose* I know, and in a way you are.
and don't worry about caya. going through her normal routine is probably helping her more than anything. just be ready for the outburst.
hehehe you got it.
and how are you all doing? Flosey did well in bridge, I gather? How is the renovation going, Liz? And rose, how are you doing with pain and pacing yourself?
Well, but slowly, Sprite. Other stuff getting in the way. Like the annual pest people spraying the house tomorrow, so can't do skirting boards etc!
did i tell i fractured that same tooth as about 12 months ago? no sign of decay, it just fractured. debtist put a resin cap on it this am. and she is now told me i have TMJ from grinding my teeth in my sleep.
ah right, you need that done yearly of course. Good luck! Will you be out of the house when they spray?
TMJ.
i can't we4 the night splints i need because of my gag reflex. physio has told me how to treat the areas when they become too painful
aw rose :( Does not sound good. I know the grinding thing, do it myself. What does TMJ stand for? Too much jabbing? ;)
No, it's non toxic to us and has no odour. We had two hatchlings of flying ants over the weekend - in the lounge. Not pleasant!
Temporomandibular Joint Disorders
Poor thing Rose - also wondered what TMJ was.
you guys have more pests and dangerous animals than any other country, I believe!
So jaw ache?
Lucky us!
Goodness knows why I moved here!
lol, at sprite's wild guess. there is such a thing?? not in my book!!
because it is so utterly beautiful? Because the people are so friendly? Because you love P? :D
nor in mine, rose, nor in mine :D
ugh liz, at least the flying ants down here are out of doors.
Lol - missed sprites guess.
Yup. All of those.
Usually here too, Rose. Think they hatched in the roof and flew through the light fittings.
and hmpfh at wild guess. That was a sophisticated, well-aimed guesstimation.
the pain is actually where the muscles are attached to the jaw.
But wild is such fun
:D
it was wild, sprite, it was wild...roflol
I can relate, rose. To the jaw pain, I mean. And pffft @ wild. I know wild. I can be be wild. I'll admit to being wild. But not here! ;)
:)
phantom: audience
For me, wicker
ugh, indeed. Thanks for pointing that one out for me.
Yw
:)
*grin*
and for the piece-de-resistance?? don had a shower early this evening, imagine my delight to realise he is sitting here, just the dressing gown, nothing else. no wonder all the tender kisses...
hmmmm yummy. Go enjoy that tasty man.
Why the dressing gown? Too much I'd've thought :)
Go shower rose
*giggle* again?? liz???
Well........
sure. Grab any excuse to get nekkid.
hmmmm, good point.
Is your holiday this weekend?
yes liz. i am so looking forward to it, and so is don.
it is awesome. You guys deserve it so much.
Hope the weathers good for you. It'll be an wonderful trip for you both. You both so need a break.
Will you gave wifi?
Have*
not sure about the first 3 nights, definitely the final 3 nights.
:( will miss you but be thinking of you enjoying the holiday
well, let the internet come in the last place, rose. Enjoy your loving husband, the luxurous place, and the beautiful nature first.
Absolutely
don't need telling twice...
hehehe a word derived from the dutch, today
Stats?
ca7/48
OK - have that.
:D I always love it when I find some strange crossover from the dutch.
Just read the meaning and saw Middle Dutch origin :)
indeed :)
Stuck here now 25 left.
am down to 3, here
Will wait til you finish then take a break til later or tomorrow.
aw :) That is sweet!
all 4s, lol. Monkeying away now.
:)
*sitting quietly, only just breathing so as not to disturb*
there. Fireflies :) Have a nice break, Liz, and good luck with the spraying. *hugs*
WTG SPRITE!!!
roflol rose, silly git, we don't want you to be quiet. We want you with us.
Congrats, sprite. Hugs to you both.
hope your day is kind to you sprite. what is on the agenda today?
and hug your husband from me too!
{{jugs}} liz girl. enjoy your evening, hun
my young man just awoke, rose. So first gonna see if I am allowed to do something for me, lol. Then... pfff I don't know. Laundry, methinks. Dishes. Dog. Calling the moped parents and see about paperwork. Answering emails. Enough already, lol. And you, tomorrow?
for him* not for me.
tomorrow, only hydro in the afternoon. might make a stab at folding and sorting the clean washing.
sounds like a good day. Take care, my dear friend. Love and hugs. And to all of you, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
xoxox sprite. {{hugs}} dearest friend
good morning
It's freezing in the house; the painter is here; my husband is non compos mentis, and I'm going crazy!
hi againl, have been tied up for a bit with emails
{{hugs}} ruby, go wild dear, do the can-can on the keyboard....lol
must get to bed - will work on this tomorrow
{{rosie}}

hi again, can't sleep so will try and find a few more words
brain isn't working, back to bed
no fracking!
surely "acer" is a tree? (maple tree)
surely "acer" is a tree? (maple tree)
fare
good morning everyone
shoot, i can't complain about a major weather element today
gm, everyone! hiya, Nutty!
hiya snopp dawgy!
its powerful breezy and cold here!
howdy lbd:)
haven't looked out the window yet, I know it's dark and probably cold.
Acer is indeed a maple tree, but I think because it's Latin it doesn't take it.
howdy evanonut
Still doesn't take "wiki" or "blog" or "internet"
sup crossy dude
same ole, same ole; writing a million seller and it is snowing...again:)
stats for the lone I?
ic5/12
ah! a description of my porch then!
oops other lone I third column. but thanks, grant
nm, found it. ir6/21
yw
it's acier or osier
patiently waiting for boss to close library ..sigh..all schools closed thruway closed from here to hamburg
and Hello everyone
hi ruby
Hello Ivesy
It's cold here, but not quit cold enough to snow, just on the surroundingmountains
Is Molly lurking?
we have mb an inch, but expecting more.some places may get up to four feet.
just came on ruby.so havent seen her
If we had 4 ft of snow it would be curtains! Dogs would disappear and I might drown
it would come up to my shoulders lol
I'm just under 5 ft, so would be in trouble!
((ruby))
im an inch over..so i be in trouble too
{{ccrossy}} and it's even Tuesday
our ruby Tuesday is pocket sized;)
I used to be 5 1"
Big pockets! Goes with fat pants
Crossy is 6 feet 2 inches, I could tuck you under one arm and carry you around like a sack of taters;))
crossy is husky, not fat;)))
but I gained a kilo since I've been walking baby dog
or big boned, as my mother used to say about "big" girls
love a big boned girl you can arm wrestle to a draw over shots of whiskey down at the pub
*Wanders in with coffee, must have heard Ruby take my name in vain*
I sat at lunch with my husband and thought of a "Molly limerick". (Yes, another one, Nel needs to get a lite!)
clue for the ca6/33?
ca6...feline + three letter Southern word for "family"
ty, Molly!
Our Molly is a sweet curmudgeon, She goes after us with a bludgeon, If we use too many commas, It's because of our Mamas, But she always remains in high dudgeon
(It was better at lunch, before the 2nd glass of wine....) sorry
Oh...wow...thanks...I guess...
uh oh, hit the keyboard with my elbow
Forgive me, Molly
He came up with bludgeon! haha
I had better bow out
it's nice of you to take the blame for your careless pets, ruby
If one of my dogs ever climbed on my lap, I'd be squshed
or even bow wow out
oh awwwwful
I sat at lunch at dreamed of all the bacon that used to be:(( I have not bought it in months. darn stuff went from 500g(just over a pound) in weight, to 375g(3/4 of a pound) and now costs just a hair under $6!!! a pound... plus tax!
how big are they, anyway?
not the bacon, ruby's dogs
Rufie is more than 80 lbs and Raffie is about 70 (guessing)
clue for the ha 6/33 please
but their torsos are as big as mine; they just hae shorter legs
full grown, ruby?
I hope
ha
And the bigger one tries to get in my lap if I'm on the floor. He's a lover!
any clue for Anne? I'd like it too.
working on it, Anne38
I don't have it, either
Crossy, are you having bacon withdrawal symptoms
snow squalls coming in now:( can hardly see across the road;(
I am jwr
ha6...first three letters of what your fingers are on + vowel + abbreviation for Seattle's State
is someone there to lock you in your room when you turn vicious>
ty again, Molly...new one to me.
ty molly
ty Molly, sounds like an Indian tribe
bye for now, kids
or do you just go all faint and shivery'
do not worry, jwr, my beloved keeps a rolled up newspaper handy for just such situation
sounds Japanese, familiar
crossing my conversations - the rolled up newspaper is nipponese and the ha word must be for ruby's pups
tadone!! finito! ty, Molly for the clues!
got it with morewords.. had no idea in seattle part of clue but the rest worked for morewords
thank you just got it xxxxxxxxx
I think we spank ruby with the rolled up newspaper in Nippon:)
seriously, Crossy, that sounds awfully expensive? Pig shortage? bacon-makers' strike?
Have no idea, jwr, but it is not a happy state of being:(
clarification (before I get too sympathetic): is this real "bacon" we're talking about ... or Canadian bacon
hog shortage, the weather has been brutal on farmers and ranchers. drought has forced many to cut back on their herds.
All our bacon is "real" bacon. I am , however talking about streaky sliced bacon and not peameal bacon
must go sweep the jeep off tc all
tc, crossy. be safe in the storm
peameal? ah, nm, go sweep the jeep, man
and thanks for the info, ibd - we complain about the weather changes in minor inconveniences and forget about the real dangers in things like food shortage.
Morning all
Also, everything in Canada is considerably more costly due to their high tax rates
Not everything, our prices are not that much different.
I agree, prices are no different than mine here
this grid is really dredging up a lot of the weird babblets
Oh yeah.
I love getting local butchered meats, but talking withthe farmers and ranchers...going to have to cut back
hi sukee, kje, jwr, lurkers
hi lbd
how's life?
Hi lbd
living the dream...or nightmare, depends on the day. how about you?
Good staying in today too cold and snowy. Great to be indoors and not have to go out.
Lol, thought lbd asked that question.
living the dream, mostly!
I'm a glass half full peep
I'm not sure what the weather is doing here. one site says it's 23°F another says 11°F
both sound cold... stay inside with a fire and a toddy
Here it is -10 C but feels like -20C
brrrr, sukee! definitely stay inside!
56 here
are you enjoying SF, kje?
I love it
I looked, that is -4F
Northern Cal is a cool place
56 in SF can be rather chilly, that dampness off the bay...i'll take my dry 11°F
yes, it feels cooler - will be foggy I expect when the sun comes up, but usually burns off quickly this time of year
Okay, have to go make some breakfast. Take care.
heading to dallas later this week - they just had an ice storm
NorCal is a lovely part of the state. I also think friendlier people...or maybe just a bit more relaxed.
but I think they'll be back up to 50-60 by the time we get there
take care, sukee
definitely more relaxed, lbd.. live and let live, do what you want. Lends itself to producing some "interesting" folk ; )
I have friends in Dallas and yup they've been whining about the cold! LOL
I think NorCal got the runaway hippies.
even the littlest amount of ice/snow shuts DFW down - they have no prep for it
and ice is what they tend to get more of - the highways just become sheets of ice. so much worse than snow
but fun to watch all the dudes with pickups and SUVs thinking their 4 wheel drive will get them anywhere.... as they slide all over the highway
currently 19 in Nashvegas -- high today 30 -- very unusual for Nov.!
yeah, i remember those ice storms. not for the faint of heart.
hiya, Unea!
19! more good fireplace weather
crunched thru yard ice with pups to pee this morning :-)
I've had to drive to work in those ice storms - scary as hell. But can usually slowly inch your way through if you are slow and a little insane
ice soooo much worse than snow!!
yes, the snow in MD was easier than that ice in TX... except that the ice in TX is much less frequent, so evens out
yup, i'll take feet of snow over ice
plus, don't have to shovel ice ; )
just chunk through it to haul it away somewhere for it to melt
you need eyes in the back of your head to watch out for the wackos driving like looney tunes!!
thankfully, I have neither here, but still cool enough to wear fun scarves and sweaters and boots
i hate the first storms of the season. idiots who have forgotten how to drive in the stuff.
every storm in DFW is that way, lbd - lol
I hate k's!
and the city leaves berms of packed snow in the middle of the roads. taking out turn lanes and such
all the K's are 4's
ok, that helps, ty
off to grab a bite and head downtown to drop off food at soup kitchen -- byeee ;-)
bye, une - enjoy your day!
hahaha - just monkeyed 3 ridiculous k words with that clue, lbd - TY!
greyed
bye, Unea!
woot, kje!
I think I need a coffee break... bbiab
thin
there's a name i haven't seen in a while angel

I was waiting for my son the other day and a guy walked by with purple, sling back Crocs on and he was talking on a Hello Kitty phone. Sometimes people watching can be frightening.
Yes, hego.
ty
lol, Molly! Were you at Walmart?
that's scary Molly.
agreed hego
Yikes
horrible taste in everything
that was Ruru.
!!!
I wasn't supposed to tell.
he's an individual... makes life interesting... more power to him!
I would never wear purple with a pink hello kitty phone
haha
Chartreuse ...maybe..but not purple
Everyone knows you should we4 pink or black when sporting Hello Kitty bling.
kje - he cheered us all up this morning, that is a plus!
Ah good Ru. I knew you had better taste than to clash like that.
I kind of like purple and pink together.
Ewwww
I'm a girl for Pete's sake.
so do I hego
Oh I get it now, all those people at Wal-Mart are "individuals".
Purple and pink go well together... if you are a 5 year old girl.
purple and pink are naturals together, hego... be bright!
Sooo miami. You two
yes, they are def individuals...
depends on the shade.
the right purples and pinks can be awesome
Birdcage, ru... there's a market there clearly
I was going to say the people at Walmart are 'troglodites', but "individuals" works too.
true Judi. :)
just as long as they aren't wearing pj's...
individual is easier to say, Judi! ; )
The sloped foreheads are alwaysca dead give away
Ruru's new country is in the grid.
Oh thanks Judi. Now I have the Bertha Butt song stuck in my head.
hello
hi Fan
Don't you mean the Bertha Butt thong?
hi mif
hi hego
Judi, thanks for that visual....not!
Imagines judi doing the kim kardashian xmas card
I saw the Bertha Butt thong at Wal-Mart, under too tight yoga pants. It made life interesting!
hi saan
Ha! That would be a cold day in Hell, Ruru.
Now that sounds scary!
'interesting' is a great word for that sort of thing zmolly
Merry Christ-my-ass.
Yes, it's like the Seinfeld version of "breathtaking"
Judi, you're killing me!!
Jingle buns
Not to be confused with Menorh-ass.
never
There a catholic priest joke in there somewhere judi

CLUES ARE ALWAYS WELCOME
ir + eight, nine, t** + 2/3 of frozen water
owl htat is a dumb question lol
Hi Owl and mom
i found it by mistake scrab
hi sammy
and owl:)
My monkeys would have found ir6 on Thursday.
lol scrab i didnt think it would work
4th column N?
well no. sometimes i am just beginnig and there will be clue after clue. then i close chat
owl ohhh
<---guilty
good morning, all :-)
hi
gm cybr
cyber
owl did you just start?
no, i am working up courage to go out and run errands.
Hi Nan
courage to run errands why?
I get what you're saying TO. There are a LOT of clues in chat these days.
Read wben.com for what is happening here.
do you live in ny now scrab?
I live in a rural area 30+ miles south of Buafflo.
Buffalo, that is.
is it bad weather is that what you are talking about?
MLFAN, I have lived here for 26 years.
sustained winds above 25 and temp below freezing.
Yeah, much the same here, TO. It's bitter out.
scrab that is awesome
owl we are supposed to be in the 30s but then drop to 20 degrees as the day goes on
now yesterday's soaking rain doesn't seem so bad.
You aren't snowed in yet then TO?
owl brrrrrrrr
buffalo got it worse than we did here in ohio and we are miserable.. so they must be miserabler
i hope you have a fireplace and heat
oh no, jaxx. we had a dusting on sunday night. it is fairly temperate where i am, but very moist.
sammy sounds like that might be possible
I have heat but I don't use the fireplace. I don't like having an indoor fire--too risky.
which means subject to noreasters, w hich are winter hurricanes.
owl yes seen those on the news i think we are also subject to having them here
Somerset is on the verge of flooding again despite all the dredging work done in the summer. Looks like it will be another winter of gales and floods for us. Snow would be nice for a change.
In moderation, of course
ca 7, please?
haven't got it yet, nan, sorry
well molly, no. it's just that i prefer to work my brain until i cannot, or i run out of time. the game has changed since its inception.
i only have one of the fa7's cyber sorry
cariaid
cariaid
Keep trying, jaxx.
thats not in the grid jaxx
Non word twice. sorry
fa 7's: 1. more decorative 2. an extremist
*reverse those for alphabetical order
cyber can you elaborate on the extremist please i have the other one?
ISIS is this
i still need the 4th column N?
ni 5/14
thanks cyber i just guessed and got it
nbt and nbs
did you get the other fa 7?
cyber no i did not
begin with part of your user name and end with a facial twitch -- one vowel in the middle of that
cyber i just got it never mind
TY
help with I under the W pls
nm
ir + number after nine is t** + 2/3 of frozen water

60 left and I have lost interest. Maybe I will be back later.
bye scrab i have 69 left
ca7: tin container + 1st person pronoun + relatives
ty nan, never would have found that one
60 left, bbl
68 left i am out as well
yw - just used the point count to monkey it
ha 6, please?
TO, the game hasn't changed. But chat and the amount of cluing in chat has. Such is life.
TO doesn't like clues in the chat?
When stuck, I rather try to work out a clue than look up the words in morewords or a2z
which reminds me, I am stuck on the ha 6!
unlikely to monkey that one nan - I think molly gave the clue earlier - or Ibdawger did
not in the chat anymore -- clue please, jwr?
let me think. first three letters of body part with fingers + vowel + Seattle's state abbr.
Japanese pottery?
ty jwr - you are right about the monkeys!
japanese something, for sure
yw - it was actually familiar to me from years ago in japan. I'll go look it up.
down to 9 and prety much trying to monkey everything now
Yes. long-ago terra cotta models of animals
oh - saw some of those in china -- probably not called the same thing there, though
*unless they were made during the japanese invasion
Iron Age, something BC - probably like Chinese of the same period - now my curiosity is aroused I shall look further
yes, they are alike - chinese a bit more polished & sophisticated (erotic too - I think the japanese reserved that sort of thing for painting)
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :-)

Hi Annie - think your bitter cold and what happens when it snows
hi matty, I really dread it. I fell last year on ice, came down flat on my back. Not pretty.

tyvm!
Da4/13, pen
different d, jax, but thanks....it's the two du 4 words from the bottom D...
Both Du4/7
yes, those two...
I have them but you wanted stats
yes, i have them now....jeff gave the stats earlier....ty....
Cold up there Pen?
about 30 F at six... a little nippy for this time of year...
inland is colder...
Same here, all the flannel and fleece is out.
yes....warming up this Sunday to the 50's again.....such weird weather now...
Not really, just a little arctic air blew across the country. It happens sometimes.
i have never had an outdoor hanging plant last until mid November without freezing....
We had a late first, hard frost too. They say it's going to be a mild winter for the Right Coast.
heh heh....i have also heard that we will have a very cold winter in NE this year....
Flip a coin
yup....last year more coastal snowstorms....some years we get more rain, less snow....i am hoping for more rain than snow...
ca 6?
i don't have it yet....will check...
ca6...feline + 3 letter Southern word for family
ty molly....character in the Mistmantle Chronicles...
ty Molly
The Mismantle Who What?
children's books....wonderful animal characters (mostly squirrels, hedgehogs, moles, and birds)....adventure series....nicely written....great read aloud...
the great nephews really liked the books read to them....
hi all, almost up to nbt
hi
Strange description of those books on Wikipedia. How is a squirrel Eurasian?
they do have european squirrels
i have no idea.....never any mention of real land masses or peoples.....the animals live on an island...
look them up on Amazon...
Well, I'm sure there are all kinds of squirrels, indigenous to many countries. I just don't get why an animal in a children's book is described that way. But there are lots of things I don't get.
nbt finally
author might just be fond of big words
they are NOT described that way in the book....though there is a castle and a king....
there's an old saying, advice for writwrs who want to sound pompous: never use a big word when a diminutive one will do. Ar ar ar
the king is a squirrel...
I haven't had the fun of reading to small kids in a long time, but those look like books my kids would have enjoyed when they were younger.
They look strangely similar to the Redwall series.
they have good vocabulary....they interested the older and the younger boys....
yes, i am sure there is some similarity....just happens to be the ones i found first in a book sale...
nicely written...
cute line drawings at the starts of chapters, too....
mystery, warfare, kindness, bravery, cruelty....all there....made interesting discussions...
It's nice to hear that people still read to kids. What with the age of tablets and computers and kids being left to their own devices.
yes, the boys looked forward to having me read to them....didn't want to read more on their own because they didn't want me to miss parts of the story... ;o)
we went through four of the five books....i offered to read something else, but they wanted that series....
Lol a little arctic wind blew across here as well... it is minus 7c with a wind chill of minus14c and we niw have a foot of snow on the ground:) squalls are to come off the bay for the remainder of the evening as well... brr
much colder and snowier than here...
wind chill here is about 2 degrees F. time for a sweater
Yup, looks like it is shaping up to be a old fashioned winter
The sqalls are our pennance for living on the waterfront
ah...
I'm thinking of you where the temperatures are really bitter. We have had freezing nights but up into the 40 degrees during the day. Rain will be back late tomorrow or early Thursday.
The ski resort folk will be happy:)
Yes. I think my skiing days are pretty much over. Stamina and balance are not where they once were.
How are you this blustry evening, stidmere?
I am typing on tablet so please excuse the higher number of typos
I am fine. I play with a duet group (double pianos, 4 players) and the music is challenging enough and we are always working on phrasing and dynamics. Great to hear something come together. We have done our winter preparations with getting the generator reliable and plenty of fuel for it.
sounds like fun....i play in a recorder group.....alto, sopranino recorders or drum...
We used to geep a gennie when we lived further north, but since we came dow her I have gotten lazy; however, I still keep my kerosene lamps ready to go and I have a kerosene space heater if needed... that and some munchies and a bookcase full of books and I am happy if the power goes out
We have provisions and books. Ni** to have a time of year dedicated to slowing down.
That it is... though I never really slow dow. Snowshoes trails are next!,
Glad you have so many options and interests, Crossy. More power to you.
That and endless soups and stews being created in my slow cooker:))
Your music groups sound like a bit of fun:)
i enjoy playing with others...
So many lovely people out there to meet!
I will be grinding away with my studies as well for 3-4 more weeks as well
After creating a short story I will be reading Othello and a novel xalled Snow Falling on Cedars for my assignments
i loved that book...
