hi Sprite
hey flosey :) How are you today?
good thanks Sprite - rose and ru had us in giggles for quite a while tonight
oh how lovely :) So good to be giggling.
starting at 1: am
hehehe they are bad. Lovely.
{{hugs}} darling sprite. how was your night? how is tim doing?
hey my dear friend :) I am ok, my night was bearable, and tim is at the jaw surgeon right now. Am waiting to hear from Rob if Tim needs surgery or not.
* flutters innocent eyelashes* why, sprite, whatever do you mean?
surgeon had ordered Tim to come in without having eaten or drunk anything since midnight. So if he needs surgery, he will get it right away.
*giggle* as don says, i'm so bad, i'm good.
hehehe... yeah right. Go batting those eyelashes to boot.
that is great, Sprite
someone here once told us her father used to ask her: "Are you good or are you well?"
good news i hope, sprite. my goodness, tim's stomach will think his throat has been cut...
it is, isn't it? Am truly impressed with the medical personel, all around. From the emergency people to the specialists.
there is nothing as hollow as a teen boys legs...
he ate dinner last night! Cut in tiny pieces. He was so hungry, lol, he was insufferable. Became another person after he finally got enough food in that boy's body.
hehehe snap, rose... exactly.
we use to laugh at one of our sons, while we were still doing the dishes, he was back into the frig
fridge
lol, like one of our snickers bar ads. there is an old fella cussing and carrying on, and a young bloke offers him a snickers bar. then says better now? pan back to another young buck, holding the bar, saying, yes thanx.
lol exactly, flosey. Same thing here. Or just before dinner.
*giggle* flosey, i always told my boys that they were grazers. meal times just interrupted the grazing.
yes, that too, still at same meal everyone else ate
oh yeah, we have those as well here. Also with the bitch from an old soap, and football players.
lol so true, rose
lolllll
which is why i used to spend the whole of saturdays baking. cakes, biscuits, bars, cookies, you name it.
oh yeah, that old soap was called Dallas.
then there was the time daughter was dating a chap who played in a band =- the whole band would be in the kitchen - not playing, eating
smart move, rose.
i even made savoury biscuits, for them. and packed them into little bags....oh and the amount of fruit....almost 30kg ea4 week.
oh yes! When Tim has friends over, they love to hang in our kitchen. They call it chilling. I call it eating.
lolol....yeah i know...my rep as a baker got out, and half the neighbouring kids would be here on a saturday afternoon.
getting my son to eat fruit is quite a challenge.
I bet you loved it though, Rose
you knew where your kids were
have you tried freezing some of it. frozen oranges and mandarines were great favourites of my boys.
and the other mothers knew their kids were safe
flosey, it was a three-ring circus there. lol
yeah tried everything you can think of. Ongoing challenge, lol.
I can believe it, rose, raised 4, first 3 2 years apart, last one 1 yr - as tiny tots they played so well together, then their friends all started to come - but I guess the did as much time at the other homes as well - always knew where they were
ah well. i used fresh bananas and apples in my baking. plus heaps of dried fruit and nuts of many varieties. anything to get them to eat a balanced diet. i still laugh at the way they wolfed down my best ever orange cake....it was full of grated carrot.
cleverL!
yeah, carrot cake works here too, lol.
that has been a fav. of mine
just texted my love if he had news yet. Am sitting on pins here. (Am I mixing up metaphors here?)
with real butter cream frosting - butter no lard or shortening (ugh)
i never told them it had carrot in it...
butter is good for them.
dan hated mushrooms, but loved champignons....lol
lollll
lol,
hopefully this time tomorrow I will have results from all the heart tests I have had in the past 2 mths
amazing, isn't it, use a different name, becomes actually edible
awww, diz. i hope it is all good news, dear.
more pins and needles there, dizgrannie. I hope you will get the best possible news.
rose, me an hubby are hoping its all good news
diz, dear. what are they checking for?
good luck diz
ty
my kids were never picky with eating. They were willing to try everything and over time developed a taste for almost everything. Just no fruit for my boy.
sprite, there are a lot of vegs which have the same nutritional value as fruit. maybe google it, and offer him the alternatives.
Rose, I have an aneurism (spll?) on my aorta, and have ended up in hosp with pains in my chest.....just checking all out.
already doing that, rose, don't worry. He gets everything he can possibly need.
not fun, dizgrannie :( Will hold you in my thoughts and prayers.
falling asleep here, 16 to go and they can wait for tomorrow
ahhh, diz. dearest, do not despair. my girl-friends dad had one. the doctor stented it and he lived til the ripe old age of 96.
does anyone else have g/kids who eat brussel sprouts, cabbage, pumpkin and any vegetable you can think of? We have 2 like that.....they even eat chokoes (me thinks that's an Aussie vegie)
goodnight all and thanks for the chuckles
sleep well, flosey. Grab that sandman when he runs by!
and it wasn't that from which he died, his dear old heart just stopped inhis sleep.
must be an aussie veg, never heard of it. And wow for those g/kids.
will do that sprite
sweet dreams, flosey. glad to have helped you laugh. xoxox
what a way to go, rose
LOL Rose...looks like I have another 30 odd yrs to go....
would you have been referring to artichokes?
they can be delicious but a lot of prep
No Flos, entirely different
and bye now
oh, those I know. They are tasty.
found them, diz. They are called Chayote here. Never had them.
I hear Tim, brb
{{kisses for tim}}
and if he won't accept them blow my kisses to him...lol
back. Tim must come back on Monday, surgeon couldn't see it yet because of the swelling
bloating? Swollenness? No idea. You get the drift.
some stitches removed, surgeon was a bit ashamed he had stitched it so fine, it gave Tim more pain than necessary. Eye is healing well, mouth too. Surgeon thinks an operation will be necessary.
just made him some stirred eggs with ham, in the pan we used yesterday to cook sausages. Nice and spicy.
okay...he is on the way. did the surgeon indicate what he thinks may need to be done?
no shame on surgeon's part. the finer the stitch the better the healing of the wound. i hope tim is okay.
he wants to repair the cheekbone. Right now, it looks like it is dented in... one side of Tim's face is much flatter than the other. And that is while swollen. So it will be repaired in order to restore the former situation.
ahhh, okay. i hope tim doesn't lose patience. reconstructive surgery takes a long time. ea4 step is small, because the surgeon has to wait for the swelling to subside before proceeding. counsel tim to be patient...hard to do for him...all teens live life in the fast lane..
yeah, I don't blame the surgeon at all. He did a terrific job.
yeah he is soooo grumpy right now, lol. Don't blame him though. It is not a fun thing to have to go through. Am glad he will be fine in the end.
can you explain about how swelling distorts tissue? point out to him how long it takes for a stubbed toe to be not sore?
um no, not right now. He knows it all, and, to quote him: "I already feel like a moron, you don't have to treat me like one."
* giggle * not touching that...
roflol! Ikr... I just leave him be. I feed him, keep him in painkillers as ordered, am nice to him, and leave him alone.
and you sweetie? what time for you?
is caya still okay? and rob? back at work...how is he handling the whole thing?
oh, sprite...i just remembered when first hubby was involved in a head-on collision with another car...i fed him frozen icy poles for months. they helped the swelling, and kept the pain under control.
not sure about myself, tbh. Caya is doing ok, she is off to school. I told her to go to bed early for a few days, and she kind of did. So hopefully back to ok.
good idea, will ask rob to get some
Rob is stressed too. He went with Tim, took some time off of work for it. I am still in too much pain to go myself. Will go with him on Monday though.
ex broke almost all his back teeth from clenching his jaw at impact.
poor rob!! poor you!! again i say i wish i could be there for you. {{hugs and kisses}}
ouch! poor man
oh, sprite, had a phone call from my original clinic for pain control today. a nurse whom i helped train in the recovery room is on the staff there. she phoned me, and said as there are 500 patients who will be looking for another pain management clinic, i should line up the new doctor ASAP.
yeah me too. But in a way you are there for me, anyway
oh jeezzzz so many! Yeah, good idea, beat the masses to it.
so i have done so. i have all the admission papers now, and am hoping to send them in tomorrow.
good job, rose. Am so sorry you have to find another pain doctor. But I feel you will get the treatment you need, at some other place.
yeah, sprite. i am not pulling my records from the original clinic. so if the new doctor doesn't work out, i may be able to go back to them. i need help now, hun..hence my going to the new doctor.
very good. Yes, you do need help now. It is eating up your energy and that is not a good thing. Am right behind you every step on the way.
sprite, do you hear from pugs during the week? is it okay to forward her emails to me?
cast le
sorry
busted, marigold :)
lol, mari...almost...lose the space, dear
rose, didn't you get an email today?
yes, i did, sprite. but sometimes i feel she is leaving me out of the loop.
if she does, it isn't intentionally, I am sure.
but then again....if you can offer her better advice...it really doesn't matter...so long as she is getting some support.
*hugs rose*
just checked, and every email I got from our pugs recently has you and liz as addressees as well.
okay...as i said...so long as she receives some support from one of us....
I think she receives support from all of us, and she deserves it richly. What a truckload of sh*t she has on her plate there :(
oh, did i tell you my dentist was able to re-build my fractured tooth?
no! Oh that is good news.
again...i wish i could be there to support her.
me too. If someone needs to be held and comforted, it is our pugs.
lol...it cost me a bit...but is worth it. no gap-toothed smile here.
am happy for you, rose. Well-spent money there.
ok that pe7 biggie is a weird one!
lolol....don just said...what is that on your face? oh it's me.
awwwwww that is so sweet!
dinner soon. how you doing with the grid?
pe7: (in ancient Greece) a lightly armed foot soldier. Named after the small leather shield they wear, which is called a pe**a.
just a few left, rose. Might make it before your dinner :)
yay, you are amazing, sprite. xoxox
just practiced, sweetie
it was my 10th anniversary here last month. Ten years of babbling :)
no, the month before even. Sept 14.
Hello Ladies ((hugs)) just trying to get a few words in before meds kick in :)

Congrats Sprite
Back and forth comes and goes

Hugs back enjoy your day Sprite
Band Aid 2014...just as great as the original.
lol...diz...why aren't you in bed??
nah Rose...only 8:45 here
been doing/listening a few songs
good (late) morning
The painter has just hung the kitchen wallpaper and it is not the color I thought I had chosen. I was afraid it would be too yellow; it is VERY orange, instead
okay, diz. i thought you were as high up as liz.
{{rosie}}
had g/son here last night and he wanted to listen to the Battle of New Orleans and the psy, great diversty
{{ruby}} ugh on the paper...
I tthink it will be OK, just a little different from what it was before
orange is a warm colour. is that what you want?
Beore, I had a rich rusty orange textured paper in the entry and upstairs hall and a slightly more yellow version for the kitchen/breakfast room. I wanted warm, but this is a little bit darker than I expected.
It all goes toward making this 30 yr old house look much older and a little bit charming as it was austere when we bought it
And since the house is always freezing it makes it SEEM warmer
well all for the good then?
I'm sure it will be OK. I'm having the breakfast room drapes cleaned, but they may be too yellow for the new walls. We'll see.
well a strong contrast can work, ruby.
iT WAS SO UCH EASIER WHEN WE REMODELED THE HOUSE, BECAUSE WE WERE STILL IN mIAMI AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO LIVE WITH CONSTRUCTION MESS
Sorry, didn't mean to shout
*giggle* you poor love...can you absent yourself as much as possible?
no. I can't eave Burt or the dogs
ooh, just found a nifty dog-related de6!
take them all....hand the dogs over to burt....
he can't take care of them any more, can't even do his own (simple) breakfast for the papa** couple of days
I am dismayed at his fast decline
pa**
awwww ruby...too scary to think about, dear.
quick half and back to Burt
{{rosie}} I haven't forgotten thatIowe you a big letter.....bad Nel
b ye ruby. xoxox

.. and load up your gas containers, cause all the fuel comes from down south;)
ivesy...just checked my incoming emails...i think i am connected with you, dear.
Know why I lost connection a couple of times, my tunnel bear was on and had me in the uk.
Lol, crossy. Just saw someone riding a snowmobile in downtown Buffalo.

And, now saw a picture of someone in NY with a dogsled.
lol, anything for a photo-op
okay...himself has just turned the tv off. i am thinking it is time to go to bed.
xoxox to you all. i hope you enjoy the grid...and that ea4 day is kind to you all.
have a good sleep ((rose))
Take care Rose
It doesn't like Santa!!
Hello all.
hey scrab.r u snowed in?
Nope. We got about 8 inches, or maybe a bit more. I will leave for work soon.
we r under a travel ban..pretty much everything closed
How about you? Two of my co-workers live in West Seneca and got 4 ft of snow. They are trapped in their homes.
my cousin lives out that way.cant get out the door either
One friend had a gas leak in her basement so she and her husband had to carry their toddlers and 2 dogs to a neighbor's house, trudging through 4 ft of snow.
awful...the things that happen when we get this weather...
Did you read that a woman delivered her baby in a firehouse?
Well if you have to deliver a baby somewhere other than a hospital, that is a good place to do it. Lot's of trained EMT's on hand.
I must get ready for work now. Bye, ivesy.
bye scrab. be safe
for sure molly. they opened a red cross shelter in city next to us for people stuck on thruway..and prob for the homeless
I can only hope that if people live in an area prone to that much snow, they know how to prepare for it.
its almost like they forget how to drive and make sure supplies are on hand.. they warn us weeks in advance.
that should say week..not weeks yet lol
for the record, i don't think i could cope with such amounts of snow mentally
it is depressing.
The sad thing is, many people "think" they can drive in the snow.
i would have to paint and decorate my house in neon colors
Bad snow storms have that effect on people (Jack Nicholson/The Shining)
well there is a travel ban..and rite now i cant even get out of the driveway...
are you kidding, i don't really think he was acting in that movie
i never saw that movie /or read the book..i hear its scary..
I remember an over 20 inch snow storm a few years back. The power went out (at night) and I looked outside and it looked like desolate, dark, Siberia. I remembered thinking "I could go crazy from stuff like this"
i know i could go crazy.last year ws terrible. i felt like i couldnt clean my car off one more time.
morning all :-)
ok i need coffee..bbs
People have gotten too used to everything being instantly at hand. when we lived on the farm we used to shop for a month at a time just in case
Good morning.
I am happy that I don't have to spend a lot of time outside. Mr. Bich walked 2 and 1/2 miles to work today in 20 degrees
good morning from chilly Brooklyn
Mr Bich has a stronger constitution than I do
Mr. Bich has a constitution and a half.
Molly, Please translate
Smart too. I want to be like him when I grow up.
Yes but if he can't find somethong he needs, he acts like a 2 y.o.
Well that's the y-chromosome Bich
Yes, and when he retires in Jan., I'm going to have it all day
Oh my, perhaps it's time to start doing some volunteer work : D
Me or him?
Well either, but I was thinking of you, for an escape
I'm used to having the house to myself.

Hi ruby
morning annie, ruby, bich et al that arrived after me lol- or came back
Hi Wolvie
hi Wolvie
A house to oneself -- sounds like heaven to me!
It is cold here but the rain has stopped and the only snow so far is on the surrounding mountains. We've not had a deep snowfall in our 15 yrs here and there seems to be less and less each year.
No "Lake Effect" snow
I do have to share it with the fluffs, but they don't hog the bathroom or the kitchen
It is nice to see all of you in here, warm greetings from cold folks!
This is a funny house -- 2 bedrooms, 3 full baths and two half baths
That's a lot of bathroom cleaning
ahah
have ten more minutes to babble then I must go shovel the jeep out:)
good bit of snow out your way crossy? none here yet
speed Babble
time for the nyt
see you later, kids

hi, all. I am so pleased! I recently bought an electric counter top roaster for baking our holiday turkeys. So much easier to use than the regular oven, much more energy efficient and versatile! I liked it so much I bought a second one. No more tying up the regular oven when we are preparing food for guests.
sounds great, angel. what kind did you buy?
the first one is a bella. The second is an oster. The bella is 18 quarts and the oster is 22 quarts
have you done turkey in it before?
I had my mother's old roaster for years and I was so sad when somebody left it on all night and burned it out. I should not have loaned it out. We cooked every turkey perfectly in that thing.
very handy to have the oven free for sides.
I had never even seen of heard of them until recently and we debated buying the smaller one for weeks before we did so. I prepared a 15 pound fresh turkey in it on Saturday and was immediately hooked. ordered the second one on Monday and it was delivered yesterday. I will use the smaller one for dressing while the turkey bakes in the larger one.
I had double ovens in one home we had and used them and the roaster, so easy to cook for a crouwd.
still have my grandmother's old blue enamel roaster, but will be using the new ones now.
i have not done thanksgiving since my early married days, and that was only for two. i may have to cook for company net time, and it is a nervewracking thought.
I usually cook Thanksgiving dinner, and we have fed up to 24 people. such fun!
I start planning well ahead, and it is so easy to do holiday meals. now it will be easier yet.
yes, that and organization i guess.

Hi crossy!
Was a nice day for a snowy romp on the hill after class. Some areas here got well over 4 feet of snow:) I cannot wait till the snowshoe areas are open:)
how is matty today?
I'm well - I had a lovely afternoon with my grown daughter - we were both exceptionally pleasant to each other. It was actually fun
And how is Crossy?
Pleasant is nice:)
Not bad at all. I am getting into the spirit of winter:)
We're not very winterish here (apart from the dark nights) - kind drear and wet, but not cold

some screens don't last very long.
Can that be fixed? It's not like in "the old days" when there was that big, bulky picture tube....
lol true ruby
i would say when you can call the manufacturer
if the screen is burned out, I don't think it can be repaired.
Or look online.
It's a Soy from a good local store (national chain)
Just Google the problem.
Sony
phooey, Crossy not here.
Flat screen TV's don't have picture tubes
no, it's the screens themselves.

The TV is so thin the whole thing looks like it's screen
i dont know if i did that right but i googled the issue and some youtube vids might be able to help you ruby?

Hi and good afternoon
Hi Bichon
Hi bich
hi lynx, sukee
You have snow there yet?
gm all!
it's a hot cocoa and flannel kind of day here... first day off in 24 days!
Here too I am still in my flannel pajamas.
Hi kje - now that's working hard!
gm, in SF, I don't think so
I'm in my sweats
I was raking
well, I had to run in for a brief meeting, but am now in sweater tights, long sleeve tee, and flannel big shirt
not public appropriate ; )
oops, thought you were still on Connecticut
stuck on ch 6/27 ??
are you in SF, bichon?
No, in CT, but I know it's afternoon in SF and probably a heck of a lot warmer
ch 6/27, wild game animal
nm.. got it
oh... yes, 55 and raining
Whatever it's been snowing here for hours.
no snow expected here - lol
my no 2 daughter's favorite animal............ she ahs that pattern EVERYWHERE.....
Oh just rub it in :)
it's cool and rainy though, sukee - not like we're sitting in sunshine here. If that makes you feel any better
rain in CA is good, no matter what
yes, we really need it... and it has been raining hard for many hours, so that is good. No complaints here
its snowing its snowing ...here comes the next storm
if I could stay home, I think I'd enjoy a couple snow days
*Passes Ivesy a heated blanket and a hot toddy*
:) more toddys plz ..lol
The only good place to be in a snow storm is home, in front of the fireplace with a warm whiskey, honey and lemon.
we made a trip to store in case we get it again. have been home 2 days other than that
With a pot of home made soup simmering on the stove.
lol.. got soup ready to cook tomorrow
I made some broccoli, potato, cheese soup last night that was very good.
love broccoli /cheese soup..(it doesnt like me)
sounds delish, but not on my diet. Too many carbs
Plain, bland broth for all the dieters
Not eating polatos. Too many simple carbs. Eating brown rice
bbl
Lots of good nutrients in potatoes. They get a bad rap from the low carb folks. All things in moderation.
new at the game..what is the average points achieved
scorpio, welcome. Click on the rankings star, and that will show you people's overall scores over time. In terms of 'average points' ... that's difficult. Every day is a different grid with a different number and level of players. Most of us just play for fun. Some get into finishing every day's grid no matter what; others play until they feel like stopping. Enjoy!
There is no average points. You have to factor in how often someone plays, whether they play every day, whether they finish every day. It's really not about points, but about how much you enjoy playing.
or chatting, especially when there's no television

hi all
Molly, what does your icon mean?
I'm guessing it means "oops the darn typos"
could be, pianoman
Now I'm curious
Okay, it's official. People really CAN'T read through typos. My icon says OOPS THE DARN TYPOS in what people refer to here as Typonese.
you were right pianoman
I can read some typos but not all
Thanks, periwinkle.

No, not wrong...except for the prim and proper crowd.
OK, indelicately worded then
no, perfectly fine to me...
Oh my, we must be delicate? (Puts on pearls, twinset, tweed skirt and sensible shoes)
i don't own a skirt....or a dress, lol....
i do own sensible shoes, though.... ;o)
<---Liar, I don't own any sensible shoes, or an outfit as boring as that
i have three criteria when buying clothes....does it fit?...is it comfortable?....is it not too ugly?....
you must be a dead ringer for our lovely lady Queen Molly
How about does it have an elasticated waist pen?
that is usually covered by "comfortable"...
No, actually not. See 6:10 comment. God, I would hate it if people thought I looked like the old queen.
i would never imagine that you would, molly!
I did say the old queen not AN old queen!!!
She does have nice hats though.
and she wears them well...
well i am done.... :oD
congrats pen!
ty!
i think it's time to get out the heated throw....my feet are cold!
and maybe a hot toddy to with it?
A heated throw for your feet? No socks, no shoes, no slippers?
i have socks, i have slippers and my feet are still cold...
the throw goes over my laps and around my feet...
Wow, the circulation must not be so great.
pen, are your hands cold too?
maybe not....
a little but not as much as my feet....
ok, I was thinking Reynauds disease/syndrome
no, i don't think so....
I hate it when my feet are cold. sometimes I wear socks to bed. but then my feet get too warm and I need to take them off :)
fw... happy babbling all
happens to me, too...
congrats!
ah...got the throw working now.... :oD
congrats peri!
ooouuuu....i am toasty!
how perfect pen, that's great!
my niece gave it to me for Christmas a year or two ago....
I never get cold
hi saan.. hi penq..

I'm fine.. lots of driving in the rain today..I hate this time of year driving
I'll write an email in a bit to you.

I hate being soggy

I wonder how our outdoorswoman Scrabbler is liking her snow now?
i kept thinking today how i was so glad i did not live near Buffalo....
me too.
my friends in NY said it's snowing there too.
I wonder if Scrabbler's rabbits can pull sleds like Radagass the brown (in the hobbit) :D
heh heh....
*Read that as Raggedy Ass
that's Kim Kardashian's nickname molly
Bruce Jenner would have laughed at that one
< I feel soooooo alone
it was funny, ru....just not here all the time....playing wordsplay...
i like your photo of Charles....i always enjoy seeing old photos of movie stars....love those black and whites...
Besides, Jenner calls her Lardass
Charles? Where? All I see is a photo of Clint.
oh Boy-yah
heh heh....
You all are trying to gaslight me.
was he in Casablanca too.. I just saw that.. what a great movie
whew I am finished.
congrats!
thanks! now to find some dinner…see you all later and keep those toes warm pen
i will!....g'nite....
hi all. any clues for the 8s out there or the 7s? i have none! ty.
hi mkg. ca7, past tense of ca6, where royalty might live
ha7/44, what a bird did to get out of it's egg
ha7/40, same as previous, but change last consonant. then plural for ha8/55
TY. MISSED THAT CA 7.
TY GOT THE HA. HAD IT ACTUALLY BUT THAT WAS ONLY 7 I FOUND.
would you like me to go on?
OTHER HA IS WEIRD WORD. TY. GOT IT.
YES PLEASE KEEP GOING. SUPER CLUES.\
ho7/44, past tense of ho5/16. ho*, not cold + fish and **ips
pa7/36 plural of pa6/24. pa + tic *** toe, children's game + vowel
what's with all the shouting?
pe7/32. pe4, furred skin of an animal + most of not first
got ho. ty.
got pa. ty ty
how about the 8s? please
pl7/36. pl + vowel + most of to provide food for a party
mkg, see 10:21
dont get pe. hmmm not sure what it is.
ok got the pe. sorry. thought it was pe 4 and then the furred skin. but got it now.
sa8/45, plural of sa7/32. sa4, not pepper + what you cook in, pots and ???s
ty for pl. super.
ty for sa 7 and 8. got both.
need other 8 please granny.
at 10:21 mkg
got that ha clue. sorry i missed it. ty.
got both 8s now. ty so much granny.
off to sleep.
sweet dreams mkg. xoxox
wow
why wow, ruru?
intense
does she ever find words on her own?
i am sure she does, ruru. just needs a help with the biggies.
uh .. yeah.. right
it's only lately that i have become a little more adept at this game. and i still struggle at times, particularly with the longer words.
uh.. sure.. you struggle alright. you're one of the best players here
why thank-you kind sir. what a nice compliment. no where near dart, broll, arb mitchdick though. boy, those players rock.
oh and sprite, dee and you of course. there are so many better than i am.
I find the constant begging for clues annoying
take a deep breath, ruru. it takes all kinds to make the world go round. i don't mind, because it helps me to remember words i have never seen before.
don't you remember when i first joined? my god, i was so stupid, even when given clues i still couldn't find the words.
I think one of the lessons about this game is patience. Give yourself a minute to think about it.. and think about a clue.. what does it mean.. where is the word.. and to try to find it.. I don't mind cluing and being clued.. but not (never) incessantly
you joined before me gr
I was dumb about this game too.. but still..
*steps off soapbox*
some players never complete the grid. i think that is what has helped me with my vocabulary. all the new words i have learned simply by finishing each time.
well.. many days it is a time sucker.. if you don't see the grid well
oh, yeah. how many times have i been staring, looking for a word, knowing it is there, but simply cannot find it?
and THEN you realise it comes from the OTHER D tile( or whatever letter you need).
we're not talking about the same thing granny
CAN SOMEONE CLUE THE AL4 PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is four letters.. can you try some combos FIRST?
oh??
that was an example
lol, ruru. yeah i know....
sorry.. I'll stop bitchin' about it
it's okay mate. it needed to be said...
it gets irritating some days
when it gets irritating every day, then you me to sound off on, mate. broad shoulders, 2 ears, no waiting.
ugh * use * not you
Shoot, now everyone's afraid to ask for clues... :)
LOL hp. .go ahead
the soap box is empty
No, I'm ok. Though I did just spend way too long to find the ca 4s.
the c's were a bitch in this grid
No kidding! I have 6 more to go.
I'd be sunk without lickety.
Lickety is a great equalizer in this game
love lickety....xoxox
totally.
Wow, did I just out myself as a child of the 80s?
it's amazing he still bothers.. with Mr. P no longer playing.. god bless him really
you did HP.. we have your Number now
grody.
fer sure
to the max.
Where are you in France? I used to live in Rennes.
I actually have finished a few grids lately without lickety.. it's amazing the guesses one can take on words from playing this game a while
I'm in Cassis (in my dreams)
I can't imagine finishing without it. I just can't fiddle for more than 5 letters.
In my dreams I live in the south of france as a multi-billionaire with my young wife (blond) and drive Ferrari's on the windy roads of Provence
Ah, lovely. In my dreams I live in a stone farmhouse outside of Tours. I grow fruit and tend a goat dairy and wear rubber boots in my lush garden. Of course I have hired hands to do the dirty work...
The closest I've been to Cassis is Nimes and Nice. I'll have to check it out if I ever get back to that coast.
cassis is really one of the most beautiful places on earth
I can imagine.
a beautiful seaport.. warm people. wonderful food, incredible vistas..
I'd live there in a heartbeat
or New Zealand
I do miss French food.
Ooh, I really want to visit New Zealand.
And that place on the north coast of Australia where the rain forest meets the sea. Can't remember what it's called.
I'm going next year sometime.
Lucky you!
lifelong dream of mine
# 1 on the bucket list
I don't know what's #1 on mine. Too many good things to choose from.
Maybe the Galapagos Islands.
you'll figure it out some day
I'd say Antarctica, but I don't like the cold.
Galapagos is beautiful..
Raw .. wild.. wind blown
And it's unique. There are lots of great cities full of culture and food and art, but not many natural places like that left.
Woo hoo! I reached halfway before the flip!
good for you..
skin of my teeth fireworks
Yea ursh!!
