good morning everyone
the Man who searched for the fountain of youth is in da grid;)
Morning crossy!
howdy, matty:)
Good morning.
howdy, sukee
Hi crossy.
Not enough vowels :)
Oh well, time to get ready. Take care.
tc sukee
hello
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
{{sukee}}
{{matty}}
Hi Ruby
Are we all recovered from last night's risqué chog?
I missed it. You will have to fill me in on all the naughty details, ruby.
we were riffing and poetizing about Soodle's forthcoming visit
I missed last nights risque chog. What did I miss?
sound like you girls are already planning trouble:)
some of the poems became a bit bl**
Of course, it depends on what time we're actually talking - as my evening is American afternoon
I have one word left - en6/27
for soodle and me it was after dinner, so for the Americans, it was pre-prandial
you are too smart, matty
since both you and ruby are about 5 hours ahead of me, it should be easy to track down the naughty verses
No - I've just had longer to work on it :) But if anyone has the en6/27 any hint would be gratefully accepted
mm, not much of a chog history for last night. The must be in the previous one.
it was 8-8"30 Fr time
Hi all :)
You shall just have to recite one or two of the best ones for us, ruby;)
Maybe not that memorable
hi liz
en 6/27 - think of tying up your shoes
Hi Ruby
morning all- matty the en 6/27 that i have is another way to spell ennui :-)
howdy, liz
just use the sometimes vowel and the second vowel as the end
Sorry - wrong clue!!!!
Not yours, Wolvie - I agree with that one :)
that is complicated, but ty, Wolvie, and hello
lol- i am not a good cluer :D
ty, wolvie
:-) yw crossy
That's it - fireworks. Thanks folks!
Congrats, Matty
yay matty

congrats matty :-) now i am diving into grid- just getting started
ooph, sorry
yaa for matty!
There are a few odd words, but this is a pretty friendly grid, I found
That's it, ruby. You are henceforth banished to the planet of puppies with weak bladders..;)
I'm down to 24 - finding it harder now.
happily, chows can last MANY hours
i have 99 left lol- oddly found a bunch of 6s and the 7s right off. usually i am all 4s to start
Hello and good morning
hello car...
howdy, car:)
Hi car :)
hiya car
Our new house pet is fitting in quite nicely!
I have one 6 and nothing large and I have 57 words
Can't believe I've only just found the adverb ending!
Hi kids.
I had both the se 6 but hadn't converted them into 8s!!!
Hi Scrabbs - has all the snow gone?
Hi Scrabs
hello scrabs
nice liz- ty for that clue lol
hi scrabs
and now for all you scrabble fanatics, it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
The highest scoring word in the English language game of Scrabble is 'Quartzy'. This will score 164 points if played across a red triple-word square with the Z on a light blue double-letter square. It will score 162 points if played across two pink double-word squares with the Q and the Y on those squares. 'Bezique' and 'Cazique' are next with a possible 161 points. All three words score an extra 50 points for having seven letters and therefore emptying the letter rack in one go.

Good to know for Words with Friends
i was just thinking of that car lol
The snow is melting due to rain and warm temps since Saturday. Today the temp will near 60. Creeks are swollen and flooding is a major concern.
Poor eeyore - shouldn't dress as a turkey that will be eaten :(
I didn't know you could add y to quoartz
our snow is now mostly gone:(
how are you set up for flooding scrabs?
Thanks, Crossy. I aspire to play QUARTZY!
I read about the serious possibility of floods - hope that doesn't happen.
I am not near a creek but my house is at the bottom of a gentlly sloped hill. I have a sump pump.
Hope you stay dry
oh boy- i hope the melt off goes slower than they say it will scrabs- good luck
all the rivers on the hill are in serious danger of bursting their banks here. I am in town though, and there is no risk of flood here
well I hope the sump pump keeps up for yours and the bun buns sakes
When I lived in Binghamton, there were floods every year, but not 'til Spring
Happy you're OK, crossy.
This is crazy-early
you stay safe too crossy-
And here we are desperate for some rain.
I hate sump pumps:( make sure you look and see that the check valve is clear. i had one jam once with of all things, an empty cassette case:(
I have heard the pump go on occasionally, but when it is every few minutes that is when I get anxious...or if we lose power.
must go hose down this mass of muscle...brb
lol- ttfn crossy
Scrabs...did you hear about my new "pet"?
Have a good day, Crossy
No!
Ooooh, new pet?
what did you get car?
An older gentleman from church passed away and left me his African Grey parrot!
Wow! Does he talk much?
They are supposed to be wonderful birds, very smart.
wow- how old is it? sorry to hear about your friend
And I think they live to be quite old
Wow! that's a big bird.
Sad about your friend though.
Was he a pirate?
Did you know the bird was to be given to you when the man died?
Right now it is like overhearing someone else conversation...we cannot make out all the words. But he does a great belly laugh followed by a sigh, AND he rings like a telephone!
What a honor, to be trusted with a beloved pet.
We don't even know if "Bertie" is a male or female, we think he/she is about 12.
The boys must love the bird. What do your other pets think?
How does your dog feel about the new family member?
nice- i bet it got the laugh from the owner- so cool
A friend with parrots used to dog-sit my first chow and one of the parrots would say "Rosie" and when the dog would come running over, the parrot would nip her
Great minds, scarabs.
Yes, I knew about it, and I am so honored. The woman that was holding his hand when he passed told me that her last words to him were that Bertie would be OK because he/she was going to be living with me. With that he sighed and was gone <sniff?
lol ruby
Great story, Car.
awww car- that is sweet
That's lovley.
We are all loving him! Archer is wigged out beyond reason..had to put up the gate so he couldn't leave our room last night. The cats are "intrigued" to say the least.
see you later, everybody, not even half
Bye Ruby! HAGD
Have a good day, Ruby
bye ruby :-)
He/she is a bit put off with me this morning because I had to cover the cage last night and I guess it is not used to that. Our house is drafty...its the way its going to be.
Sorry about your friend Car. I hope another pet doesn't over tax you in the care taking department. You've got a lot on your plate now.
He's / She's quite young then! Has a long life in front of it!
I must get ready for work. I will drive by some creeks and streams today and they will be wildly flowing with water and ice.
I am leaving my pet chimp to car
ttfn scrabs
Have a good (dry) day, Scrabbs
Thank you Molly. This pet is bringing much joy to my mum and to all of us, so I think it will be OK.
Take some pics Scrabs!
And PLEASE drive safe
I'll leave all our cockatoos to car - they'll keep the african grey company
Would not want a chimp...at all! That would go to a wildlife reserve.
How many Liz?!?!?
I got him from michael jackson
Car, I thought your house WAS a wildlife reserve. : D
He comes with clothes
Joking - they're wild. We feed them and we have many, many of them each day. Some we know by their personalities - like the one, which taps on our bedroom window in the morning.
Oh dear ruru...then it may be best to put Bubbles down...he has seen WAAAAAAAY too much.
OK, Liz...that is awesome!
Getting there Molly...getting there!
It is awesome! We love them and also the rainbow lorikeets.
The cleaning lady is coming today...wait until I tell her all the things she cannot use anymore!
In fact we counted about 40 different species that we've seen around the area of our house.
What things can't the cleaning lady use?
My favorites are the hoikeets
the clorox cleaner wtih bleach, Febreeze spray, and we cannot use nonstick pans.
Rainbow lorikeets? Sounds beautiful
Non-stick pans?
They are beautiful.
Yeah....teflon in particular...I guess they release nondetectable fumes, especially if they are scratched at all...which can be toxic to the birds.
I know Zoom, I was wondering why a cleaning lady would use non-stick pans
OMG Liz....these just fly wild around your place?!?!?!
I said WE cannot use the pans.
Not in our house - but around the outside, yes.
that is how i read car, lol
They are gorgeous!!!!!
small price to pay for getting the birdy i would say- the cats will just adore this thing :D
There are loads at the moment, because lots of trees are in blossom.
Yup
how i read it- sigh- not a typist
I still need the upper left corner E please?
EP 5/14
I am anticipating cats paws getting bitten
I can't wait until Zack practices his saxophone! See if the bird picks that up.
You want a clue?
lol
Sax imitating - wow! That'd be something to hear.
Yes please, Liz
If he does it, I will make a video.
We took one of his ringing like the phone.
ep 5 - ep + perform on stage
Just got it! TY anyway!
Iread that as sex imitating for a sec
I imagine you would ruru! LOL!
Trust you, Ru..lol
Why imitate? The real thing's more fun.
Just sayin...
That is when the cage gets covered i guess
ugh...time to wake the rest of the household....so much for the peace and quiet.
Fireworks.
Oops! PB for me!
Woot Liz
Congrats Liz!
HAGD all!
Thanks. Any clues?
ttfn car :-)
Liz has whales, lorikeets. What a paradise.
Enjoy your day, Car.
congrats liz!
It is like a paradise - I never thought I'd live in such a place.
Don't forget the kangas and koalas, bichon :)
Thanks wolvie.
Are you originally from Australia
No, London - only moved here 6 years ago, so it's all still very exotic to me.
Can't say I'm that keen on the nastier things though.
What a difference
Like snakes
Yes, them mainly - and spiders and jelly fish etc etc But I haven't seen many of them and very few snakes and they were pythons, so not venomous.
no- those just make you a bit breathless lol
not venomous, but the big squeeze
And it must be very hot in the summer
Hubby's an Aussie - he said, how do you fancy taking early retirement and moving to Aus. He didn't have to twist my arm very hard.
nice :-)
I can't imagine being that far away from my family though
We do have a couple of hot, humid weeks but where we are the daytime summer temp averages 30 C and the winter temp about 20 C
But in summer there are fans and air con and a pool and the ocean!
Winters sound nice
My brother is in London and I miss him and his family and I miss my friends but I've met some lovely pe 6 here.
Winters are lovely - blue skies and not humid. Temps can get down to single figures at night and the houses aren't built for that, so get cold.
Could I get a clue for pe7, please?
I bet there are great pe 6 there, but my grandchildren?
hello friends.
I don't have kids, so that wasn't an issue for me.
hi Trif, Marc
pe 7- an enzyme i believe
Hi trif and Marc.
hi trif
fruit enzyme i should say
big excitement this weekend! Disney is filming a movie in our town, and wooooo was there a lot going on! Fake snow everywhere, 1950s vehicles, giant production trucks, catering trucks, you name it! It was VERY simple to see how movies cost million to make
pe 7 - as wolvie said - linked to the pe 6 (not in the grid) used to thicken jam.
hi bichon and trif was that a clue? i don't know that enzyme Wolvie, sorry
Sounds like fun, trif.
it was at first, but it was sort of annoying - lots of road closings and TRAFFIC
Hm! Hadn't considered that.
Enjoy your days, all. Time for bed :)
ttfn liz
gave me a new appreciation for how hard it is too - the crews spend all day setting up, and then they film from 11 pm until 8 am. Ugh!
pe 7- pe +a,b,* + 2 letter english goodbye or ty, + **e you later.
Who cares about the fake snow and catering trucks. Did you see Chris Pine???
LOL ty Wolvie
:D yw- hard one to clue
ty Wolvie
25 for later- off to some pre thanksgiving prep :-)
when batman was filming in Pittsburgh security started pushing my husband around for taking photos from a public location.
what a bummer evan
not really, he won that battle. police came up, he showed him the list of photographers rights, and police said he was within his rights.
not too mention EVERY Stepford in town is angling to get their precious darling in the movie....
oh well done, evan's husband!!!
gag
I am enjoying seeing the 1950s vehicles....very cool
we have photos of "a batman" and the flying bat thing going down the street
one of the times we were on a family trip to Ireland we were hanging out in wexford and stumbled across "Saving Private Ryan" - I have pics of the kids and I sitting on tanks, army trucks, etc.
That was filmed in Ireland?
that was pretty funny....had forgotten
nifty, can't imagine the cost of that movie
it was INSANE - could hear the cash register RINGING the whole time
We had a movie done in our town about 15 years ago. it snarled up traffic for weeks. They hired about 100 locals for walk-in parts and at the end of the day, all that work, all that money added up to 25 seconds in the finished movie.
there you go, crosy
crossy
good morning all. help with the se8 pls. I found two se6 but no 8
We were in Queensland NZ , on the South island and went to see LOTR I. People in the audience were commenting that they knew where that place was
add a comparative ending to the se6.24
Trif, being a Coast Guard brat, I'm very interested to see how Disney puts that story on film
I agree, Molly - It should be interesting. The "Mouse spin" is usually troubling
ty Trif
what movie are they making anyway?
what is the se c, pls?
se 6
its called "the finest hour" and its about a famous coast guard rescue mission in 1952, I think
I will tell you in just a se6, bichon :)
huh, so maybe they won't break out in weird singing throughout then
It seemed odd to me that Disney would be interested in making a movie like that
ty Trif
Im not surprised.....handsome men being heroes, small towns rising to the challenge...
lots of potential for heart string pulling
help with left corner E pls
there's no r in the grid to make it comparative
think adverb, bichon
Mt. et** in Scicily
make the se6/24 an adverb bichon
ty peri and Trif
and the other se 8 has the same ending
I have the volcano. it comes from another

you too Trif. going to be In the 70's today!!
warm here too, but pouring. I care NOT - don't have to shovel rain!!!
field trip today, but we don't know where yet. Was supposed to be: use public transportation to go in to the city and show kids the view from the top of the Prudential tower. Inasmuch as visibility is ZERO we are working on an alternative plan
Off to class for crossy. tc all, and happy babbling!
moi aussi. Have a good day all, and find those babblets!
Good morning, all!

hi stidgmere, I just finished on a very windy evening in Michigan.
Hi
Any clues needed?
I'm still finding words so am not stuck. Not ready for clues but thanks Luv, are you in the northern reaches of your state? I bet you've had really frigid temps this past week.
Hi penquis and car.e
I see an older looking dog Luv. Is that the new icon?
Good evening Babblers
Greetings, Wht
hi
Hello wht hope your day has gone well.
Nothing to complain about.
It was warm but rainy today. And we won't have to travel for Thanksgiving, so the predicted snow storm will not be a major problem for us.
Can I get a clue fr the pe7 after the nut.

Hi Molly and car. Seems like a quiet night. Has everyone already left for the holidays?
People are in panic mode at the very mention of snow on the day before Thanksgiving.
Hello all
Hi
We've had our first snow already :)
I can understand not wanting to travel in the snow on Thanksgiving.
Work is all done, sitting down to a cup of hot chocolate and Babble.
Clue please for the first SE 6/21?
Travel day = Wednesday has been moved up to travel day = Tuesday
Sounds wonderful Sukee

When I was a freshman in high school, we moved from Western New York to Toledo Ohio.

Me too. Ty
I swear I am just typing in what I think is nonsence and it turns out to be words :)
Fireworks!
Time for sleep. Have a good evening everyone
wtg
We went back to be with my grandparents for Thanksgiving and on the way back we got caught in a lake effect storm. It took us 8 hours to get from Buffalo to the Pennsylvania Line and another two to get to Erie.
Good night all.
