hmmm, or maybe not!
pi8
ae 7
not finding either of those
hi, all. Such sadness for someone I love. My cousin was recently married and was on his honeymoon in Cozumel, Mexico. He and his bride were experienced divers, and were on a dive on Monday. She became ill, and swam to the surfAce of the water. She died in my cousin's arms, of a bleed in her liver. Today would have been her birthday.

Hi all. Condolences, Angel - how horrible for you and your family.

good morning?
{{hugs}} my dear ruby
{{rose}} how are you? I had very little time to spend on those luscious bit grids
they were fun grids, ruby. i'm sorry you couldn't find time to do them.
i am continuing to take it very easy. i have an appointment after christmas with my GP. will see what she says and does then.
I would jump in for a few mins but then real life would intervene
How are you handling your pain?
i'm trying to not use the heavy duty stuff. i found out something interesting today.
what?
good morning dear friends
I save my morphine for when it's more than a 15
hello Sprite. |Your pix will be sent this afternoon
awesome ruby :)
gp wanted me to use panadeine forte, which contains codeine which converts to morphine when digested. 2 pan forte convert to 9mg of morphine. the one oxycodone tablet i use for my pain, converts to 4mg of morphine. and how does this make me addicted?
I can handle anything 8 or less.
ah I wonder how crowded the penalty box was this morning at fl4 time!
{{hugs}} my darling sprite. whoopee!! she's here...
*hugs rose* So sorry to be sleeping so late. But I need it. Miss you though!
I take paracetemol + codeine every morning, and have for several years, and it controls the pain enough for e to get stuff done. I haven't had to increase the dosage (except when it's a 15) since the beginning. Am I an addict?
my darling, it is so lovely to see you, dear friend. np's with the time today.
and, if I am, tant pis!
I don't think either of you is addicted. If I thought you were, I would say so. But rose, you cannot be addicted to something you take once every few weeks. No way in hell. Just... no way.
lol, sprite. what a true friend you are....
and ruby, paracod can be addicting, yeah, but one every morning and no more over the day, still does not an addiction make. If you feel yourself taking more and more, then you should worry.
I think if I didn't take the (small) dose every morning, the pain would get worse from inactivity
I save the "had" stuff for when it's unbearable, and that's not even once a month, thank God!
hard*
*grin* I am, sweetie. The kind that makes enemies superfluous ;) I never avoided to tell my friends some ugly truths when I worried about them.
sounds like you have it perfectly under control, ruby.
and Rose, to counter the miserable side effects of the pain meds, I now eat prunes with pieces of emmenthal which cut the sweetness. 4-5/day
must go. see you sweeties soon!
must go. see you sweeties soon!
bye ruby, good luck today :) *hug*
also, rose, you should tell your gp that no changes in medication regimen can be made until you have seen your pain specialist. And he or she will probably be able to prescribe you the oxy if they think it necessary.
spriite, shall i take photos of my gp's face when i tell her the facts about codeine and oxycodone?
oh please do. And then her face when you tell her: "I prefer to stick to the lowest effective dose."
two of my favorite animals are in this grid
sprite, that is what i am hoping. for goodness sake, part of my treatment is a week on intravenous ketamine...
roflol....yeah, my alternative is the lower dose, isn't it?
well it would be idiocy to change the regimen just before you are seeing a pain specialist. Goes straight against common sense. You are NOT addicted. And you may be a little dependant on it, but that is because you need the peace of mind that there is something you can do when things become unbearable. And for heaven's sake, that is what the pill is for. We are talking about one pill once every 2-3 weeks for crying out loud.
dependent*
if dependent means it is the only med i can take to ease the pain, then i am dependent. i guess it's a matter of defining dependence. by law it is usually a daily usage, not fortnightly.
I was thinking more like emotionally dependent. As in, don't take it away from me or I will put up a fight, that kind of dependent. Which in your case is needed. Because you need the certainty that there is something left to try when all else fails.
if that one A had been a G, this might have been a whale of a grid.
oh, i found another word for your babble dictionary
oh please tell me :)
aeolips....lips which last a long time when kissing
oooo I like it
This grid may be short, but it's hard. I have nothing bigger than a five
I added pardont recently. Asking forgiveness for something you didn't do.
hey matty :)
How about pinowl - a really small nighttime bird of prey
he
I can offer 2 6s. Nothing bigger either, lol.
I haven't started on the list yet - what are your two sixes (stats)?
awwww that is so sweet. In it goes, matty, thanks!
so6/21 and po6/21
Got the so6/21 now, thanks to you!
yay :D
And now the PO - thanks Sprite!
It's amazing how you see them once you know even anything about them
gj! And yes, that is how it works for me too.
If you combined the pi6/21 with the so4/4, that's one person performing Rachmaninoff
there are about 6 weird words as far as i am concerned. the rest are mostly quite common or a frequent babblet.
lol indeed. Only needs a space to be valid.
did you see my new babble word, rose? I posted it just before your squirrel ;)
yes hun, i saw it when i checked the chog for yesterday. i was checking to make sure you were okay.
btw, that squirrel's name?? it's IBS...*sigh*
awww you are such a darling, rose. *hugs* I am mostly ok. Just tired and in pain. It will pass. December is never a good month for me.
ugh, yeah, that squirrel. I know it. Not the cutest of the bunch.
yeah i know sweetheart. i hope i can change that for you. xoxox
already are. This is a better december so far than I had in years. And it looks like we can keep it relaxed and pleasant all the way.
nice, dearest....i hope you can enjoy it and all it represents.
did I tell you my daughter insisted on watching Little Lord Fauntleroy with me? It is tradition, she said :D
oh i love that...what a darling she is!!
For me, if I could manage things my way, December would be about Midwinter. When nature reaches its deepest, most inward point and starts turning outward again... not visible yet, but it is happening. Which for me ties in with Jesus being born, the Light in the world but not yet visible to the world. Protected by his mother. Allowed to grow up before having to shine His light outward.
my last post eaten by cyberspace. i sadi...brb, going to get my meds ready....*sigh*
ugh, said
ugh, said
had to repost mine as well.
what you say, my dear, is so true.
one day, rose! One day we will celebrate Xmas together. And enjoy every second of it.
christmas in july, right?
*giggles* Only if we come your way. Otherwise it would be Xmas in December. As it should be. Grin.
if the good Lord wills, we will be with you and yours next july. and i want one with all the trimmings, please.
lolllll! No way. I mean, Xmas in July? With a bit of luck it will be bbq weather!
yes july....you don't have christmas in july? we do, as we can have all the glories of a traditional hot christmas dinner in the cooler weather.
btw, put the turkey on the bbq....lol
hehehe I am afraid it wouldn't work, rose! It is high summer here by then :D
will send over don's christmas pudding recipe.
ok. Do I have to start it now?
exactly dearest. it is high summer here in december....and we usually have a hot christmas dinner
that ci7 is an odd one
yup, that's one of the 6 weird ones.
I wouldn't know how to make you a traditional Xmas dinner anyway, tbh. It isn't like in america here. Please Rose, tell me you are joking!
sprite, even when it is 40C in the shade, we still have christmas dinner with all the trimmings.
but but but... NOT when you are in the netherlands, right? Please? *trembling bottom lip*
could you clue the ci7 then?
sure, joseph, and hi
hello. sorry to interrupt the christmas dinner chat.
we have hot roasted chicken/turkey/beef or lamb, hot roast potatos and pumpkin, steamed/boiled vegs of carrots, peas, and beans. lashings of gravy and cranberry sauce/apple sauce. then followed by hot plum pudding with brandy custard, cream and or ice cream.
ci + santa lives on the North ***e + not out.
thanks
g'day jj. nice clue sprite
no need to be sorry, joseph! Glad you are jumping in chat.
*hands sprite a tissue* yup
it is an impure form of marble, the ci7. Such a practical word to know :)
noooooo rose. Noooooo. We celebrate in December. Not in July.
so, maybe they make marble chips out of it?
roflol jj!
sprite, please to google christmas in july...yessss, yesssss
that wasn't meant to be funny but, ok :)
only in Aussie, rose, only in Aussie! Where you won't be... when in the netherlands, do as the dutchies...
sprite, try to enjoy a hot christmas dinner when the ambient temperature is 40+C
awwww....but, but, but
ouch, sorry jj. It was funny to me, seeing how the chip word is almost in it.
that is what I am trying to tell you, sweetie... let's NOT do that in the netherlands :)
no need to be sorry. i was just wondering what you would do with impure marble and thought they might make those chips that people sometimes use on paths.
okay, sprite, we will do as the dutchies....just serve us up a traditional dutch christmas dinner....lololol
I wouldn't be surprised if they used this, indeed, jj. In the def it says the marble is layered.
omg rose... you've got to be kidding me! How about we watch the traditional movies together, and forget about the Xmas dinner?
POUNCE
oh my.....really roflol....okay....

O hunny. I am here.
Hey Crossie
it's so hard...i don't want to worry don...but the pain gets to me..
Wel you just need to ask me for help after my good fortune today I can pay it forward
good morning, everyone! HERIN, HI!!! cooee, Rose!
;-) cooee lbd
herin, what happened today?
I'm sorry to read that the pain hasn't abated, (((Rose)))
lbd, it is now pretty bad arthritis in BOTH hips. it simply gives me no rest, dear. plus the nerve pain in the right knee...
My best friend just gave me like 20 pairs of jeans and shorts, work jackets, tops and bras
lbd, my GP has been trying to tell me that the pain killer i have been taking is excessive. whereas, the pain killer she is pushing is more over the top.
oh, herin....and you so deserve a windfall like that, hun.
tell her you don't care as long as you get relief!
herin, what a lovely gift and friend!
Snuggles Granny. My friend just lost 50kilos and counting she was a City chic XL and is now a XS
lol, lbd....exactly dear. and now i have the x-rays and ultrasounds to prove it.
HI LB
My Friend is pretty cool
wtg herin's friend
lbd and herin...trust me...GP will be fully informed when i see her on the 29th.
I've been trying to use the copper method to get relief in my hands and wrists. I can't really tell the difference while wearing the gloves, but that could be because I'm constantly taking them off to wash my hands or need bare hands to cook.
lbd...my granny insisted the copper bracelet did her the world of good.
howdy her.. sorry, I drifted away to put the kettle one
herin*
hope you have a lovely cuppa in your fist, crossy
Granny, my sister has arthritis and the stuff that was working no longer is available in the US. I can't remember what she's taking now, but she's trying the copper bracelet and other natural ways as much as possible. She really just wants a drug that will give her relief, and not poison her system.
yup, just as I like it; in a tick mug and strong enough that I have to fight it for the teaspoon:)
thick*
roflol, crossy. for me also.
lbd....i agree with your sister. i too hate all the manufactured drugs. give me the natural stuff....and i am a hospital-trained registered nurse.
My big hands and this keyboard are going to be the death of me , i swear! Looks like a heavy typo day for crossy:(
My other best friend is looking after the cats. Her partner just came out of hospital because some dumb ass fell asleep at the wheel and broke/dislocated his heel and foot
awwww, crossy. no matter what, mate. i like to see your comments. and how is elegant?
OWIE!! Herin, t's and p's for your friend's partner!
She is fine. My beloved is not a morning person and is still abed.
lucky elegant
We are thanking all the Gods and Goddesses it was a low speed accident and not on the freeway
hope the one who fell asleep is paying all the bills
ditto, what crossy said.
Nope that is the insurance and travel coverage that we pay for in our licence fees
ugh...eyelids falling shut....xoxox to you all. herin? don't forget...email me when you are home again, sweetie.
sweet sleeps, Rose. hope you wake up feeling less pain.
NIght Rose loves and DO NOT FORGET I AM HERE

A lab called yesterday with a positive MRSA culture.

HI welki

hey owl! hi/bye
Hi Owl
love your icon
me t00 :)
Me three
timing is all off. christmas party dance last night, church and the mall today.
it's the time of year, owl - we've had a crazy schedule for the last few weeks, beginning w/my trip east
Chinese food and Movie day coming up!
just think - in three weeks, it'll all be over, and everyone will be wondering what to do with all their spare time
hi, kap
Hi.
I have been craving Chinese food, Kaplan.
I can't wait, Welki. I focus on Jan 2nd.
again we agree, scrabs. just too much activity jammed into a short span of time
Too many expectations
people aren't filled with 'cheer,' but are short tempered, tired and confrontational
People can probably opt out of the hype. What would that look like?
would look like scrabbler and me, i suppose
We have pretty much opted out the past few years....now it's a spectator sprot for us lol
i don't celebrate, but appreciate the celebration of others and try to enjoy the season - getting more difficult every year, though
Like, just don't do it? Even though it is good for the economy when people crowd the malls,
It would mean you are too inert to put up any Xmas decorations or lights and you shop online only---that's me.
I don't celebrate either, clearly.
clearly :)
But I fondly remember Christmas in Manhattan.
yep, me too
I like that, Jeff-- spectator sport.
B.Altmans store windows, for example.
Miracle on 34th St. NOT the remake.
I love that movie.
wow, haven't thought of b. altman's in ages
ci7 anyone?
:)
or bloomingdales
Saks, Altmans, Macy's, Gimbels, Abrahan and Strauss...

a few years ago i got to tour the company that makes all the windows for macys, it was truly amazing
FAO Schwartz
the best displays ever.
we got to see all the behind the scenes of how they make it all, and then we went to macys and looked at all the windows themselves. I will never see them the same way again, super cool
cool.

Are the vineyards sustaining much damage?

Healdsburg is a mess
I saw that on tv
Yountville didn't look too good either.
But you can't tell by the news, they make everything look like a disaster.

but Italians are so holy and pure they are allowed to call their swimming pools pi8's
"staring blankly at the h"
at least the guys and gals who make brunello :D
You got that right! ;)
I have high intensity lights in my kitchen and out of 9, 5 just went out. There are 4 on a separate strip and two of those are out. Nothing like cooking in the dark
Am very fond of Brunello.
you probably blew a breaker ruby
and of Montalcino.
I love great brunello
cooking by candlelight, not so good.
I am very frustrated
especially Salvioni
You have to drink it in Montalcino. awesome!
I think the painter did a little tinkering
Worth the trip.
Ruby, the painter messed up you lights?
go to your breaker box ruby.. you'll see one off
you lights? are you in Oakland hego?
When he was doing the paper above the soffit, he saw how dirty it was up there and I think in cleaning, he messed something up
bad Ruru!
I checked that already, no luck, ru
hmm call him to come fix it ruby since he screwed it up
tomorrow morning I will. He's a charmer, but has stopped working at about half way
Why do they do that?
he's French
haha
tu pense?
we think
..there is always tomorrow.. that seems to be the motto with workmen in France. (ask Peter Mayle)
And Italy, very much so.
I thought of him a lot when we were doing the house but it was different because we were still living in Miami
I love the Peter Mayle books.. and devoured them
I love his books.
Did you know that Peter Mayle did a children's sex education book in the early 60's, "Where do we come from?"
me too Ruru.
I wonder if it's still in print
I am also quite jealous of him.
obviously my mom didn't read that book
I am doing Provence and the Loire sometime next year
sounds like a nice trip
Lovely Ruru. You will be right at home.
I got as far south as Avignon last trip
<-- lives Avignon
I still want to go to Palette and Cassis and Bandol
I love that southern area.
Great food and wine down there.
I did too.. ruby .. so much history.. and amazing markets and food
I've never been to Cassis, but it looks beautiful from the Tour de France coverage
I want to visit a few of my favorite wineries in the Loire too
I stayed in Avignon for a week. Nice trip.
We are straight north from Provence, over the southern Alps
Cassis may be one of the most beautiful places on earth ruby
Ru will be in his glory.
I'll have to bone up on my French again
we could play scrabble in French, ru
Everyone speaks Engliish.
But I enjoy trying anyway.
not in this village! Nobody speaks English except the snowbirds
you aren't in a tourist area, are you?
I should say a place where a lot of American and English go.
Annecy is touristic, but it's mostly European tourists, so they don't use English much
lina
Phooey!
*hego is getting desperate with the L*
Not really paying attention, ru. :)
the motorcycle hordes come from Italy and Switzerland in the summer (but not to my village)
You're lucky.
They are so noisy.
yeah.. and a little overdone on the leather if you know what I mean
our village itself isn't much but the countryside is gorgeous and the view fro my house is spectacular
ya think? My DIL used to ride a Harley, but in California
So nice, Ruby.
good night everybody
We were up in the Berkshires and they just ruined it with the racket.
Good night Ruby.
my friends son in law has a place in the Berkshires
right on the lake they say. I haven't been there
Nice up there.
that's what they say
Stockbridge, James Taylor, Tanglewood.
Very preppy.
ah.. yeah.. he's an attorney
off to make some breakfast.. lazy day here for me today thankfully
Have a good day.
*makes notation on chalk Board*
:)

hello everyone .... FW earlier .... just thought I would pop in to see if anyone needed a clue or two.
hey. mo -- FW for me too -- back later :-)
hi une and byeee :-(
seems everyone has either finished or "hiding" ..... so I will go and find something else to do ..... good luck everyone.
Only here for a quick scan for clues. Slim pickings. 😫
Quick! Quick! Everyone look! Soodle is here for her 2 and a 1/2 seconds!
Good day/ evening, Molly! ðŸ˜
For no other reason than to annoy the divine Ms L, I'm still here! Dishwasher needs emptying, laundry needs putting away, I need to call my son, daughter, Mother & Father, but All are being deferred to defy Molly! Lol. (Actually - thanks Molls. I need a break!)
Well good. It's about damn time you took a break from all that. Glass of wine?
I have no tales of woe to tell you, but I do hope you are enjoying the Christmas season.
No wine yet, but it's still early-ish. Its going to be a busy week. Prodigals returning, etc. 😃
And, the phone rings.... Laters....
Ah, good. The prodigals are flocking homeward. Lock up the liquor cabinet and get out the giant aspirin bottle and the cold compresses.
Good Afternoon, if anyone is here.
i am...
hi pen; how are you?
fine, thanks...you?
getting old I fear. We're having nice weather (temps up to 50 (F) today; but wet so achey; and my brain is mush.
i hear ya....my arm is achey today....just iced my elbow....
I've done such a nice job of hiding Christmas presents through the last several months that I can't find them!
lol....mine are all on the bed in the guest room...i will be happy when they are wrapped and gone!
Everyone applaud! Soodle has done the "In And Out Dance"!!!!
*clap, clap, clap*...
Well, it's for DH and for the grandson who are both here; so I had to hide them. I have my presents packed and ready for the post office for family in MT.; I've only lost gifts for the people that live here
Oh, you can't hide gifts hither, thither and yon. It's better to get a locking cabinet if you have to hide them from people. You will never find them all if you tuck them away over several months.
I did find the ones I bought in September; those are wrapped and under the tree. My biggest problem are the ones I bought in the past 2-3 weeks!
(They do say that recent memory goes first, right?)
unfortunately, yes...
good evening all! how is everybody?
hello hello
I had a crock pot of baked beans on all day. The place smells wonderful. : D
yummy....
hi eno, annie...
Yummy baked beans. What are you making with it?
hi penquis :)
does anybody have the stats for the 8?
Hi Annie, pen, Enomis
I love homemade baked beans
hi bichon :)
pi8
pi 7/36 and 6/50
hi bichon....
To go with I grilled some hamburgers and cooked some sugar snap peas. We are eating on the discount side these days to justify what I will spend on the Christmas roast beast.
Done. Going to start thinking about dinner. Bye, dear babblers
We make pizza every Sunday
ty annie and bichon, got them
bye annie
bye annie...
I usually try to do a nicer Sunday dinner than this, but we are living frugal these days.
So are we. And Roast Beef is not part of our budget
I buy one nice roast beef tenderloin for Christmas dinner. That is the extent of my high dollar beef purchases.
Isn't it sad that we can't afford "good" roast beef more than once or twice a year these days? I remember having steak at least once a month when we were young….
Yeah Nef, I remember being able to afford better cuts of beef years ago. And seafood too.
Hi all!
hello babblers!
Hi TO
hi, bich.
I get my meat and seafood at Costco. For fish, I get only wild caught salmon, Cod and haddock. For meat, we usually only eat chicken and ground turkey.
i need to eat mre fish. better protein for the money
I read a good article today about what fish not to eat if you don't want to ingest too much mercury
Hi. Just starting. Following the Seattle Seahawk game and putting dinner in the oven. Now it's still light outside and our Christmas lights are on. My husband put them up yesterday and today he put wreaths on the gates.
I can't stand the Seattle Seahawks
Dirty players. Lots of flagrant holding and cheap shots that they get away with
I do like Russell Wilson though
I didn't like many of the calls today. Hockerly has been in the middle of some game changers in years past, also.
Well that (non) roughing the passer call changed the game.
Exactly. That was why I decided to look up my old Baedecker book and think about the south of France.
That is what i should have done...
Of course, ruru. We cannot control every evil in the world, but we can start with Major League Football which has its headquarters in Las Vegas or someother upstanding location.
I really am beginning to think some games are fixed
I have the same impression Doren.
me three doren
ugh, hostages in coffee shop in downtown Sydney
sorry to bring the real world in
Hi and no idea what is happening with that situation
http://tinyurl.com/kamo6yj most reliable non biased news on this situation.
cranky starbucks customer?
Ruru can't say because I refuse to get into this bs politics of what hate group has done this
Good evening Babblers
Hi wht
Quiet night in the chog.
I am procrastinating
Usually procrastinating involves chatting while not doing something else. :^)
I am watching the football game while I Babble.
I need to do the laundry and pack and house and make cakes
Given, that list, I think I would rather Babble as well.
Too bad we have such a small grid today rather than the big ones we have had the last couple days.
Yes too bad as today is my only free day
clue for the ci7 please
nm Found it. Fireworks.
Good evening. Happy Babbling all.
Yah Wht sorry my brain is all weeee bye bye
Hey. y'all. Do we have any Babblers in Sidney? I just heard that a gunman is holding hostages in a restaurant.
g'day peach. yes that is correct. sydney is locked down. police don't know how many hostage takers there are, and don't know how many hostages, gunman has not yet made any demands. the siege is going into it's seventh hour
Pounce Rose
They are not releasing any details other than the situation because of social media
(((rose, lady, australia))) hey all. almost to halfway, then I am heading to sleep...

Oh, my! Rose, do we have Babblers there?
{{hugs}} stiddy
Was but it was a round and round and round repeat
Swapped to Lindsey Stirling
Stid I saw the pic of StidJunior and I really wanted to show the best and naughtiest christmas sweater to you
:-)

ARgh it is my day off and I am sitting here with my thumb doing nothing
And I have a costume to make for friday
sweet dreams stiddy
Night Stid
3 hostages have just escaped from the cafe
I just had to take a no intolerance stand on my facebook
did they do coffee to go?
Those people may never want Lindt again. (sorry bad Herin)
ha-ha not
What is REALLY starting to piss me off is this whole 'They are Muslim' when nothing has been released
i know herin....with nothing confirmed how can people make statements like that.
This is the news on ABC24
At least they are saying - regardlessly not irrigardless
I always wince when someone says that
not a word
WTF I just got a Vegan Dentist add
sounds like something you'd find in Marin California
"We serve no animal flesh of any kind. We're not only proud of that, we're smug about it."
in regards to the siege in Sydney, parts are still in lock down.....the mobile phone service is down cos the cops don't want messages getting thro to the wrong peeps.....my niece is in lockdown, but is safe, last heard from her at 12noon Sydney time, just before the phones went down
it will be a long commute home for many peeps, with road closures and trains not running
why Australia? You guys couldn't be more neutral than you are ? Unless I'm wrong?
we still don't know if it is ISIS or a random attack from some silly prick trying to get attention
113 - next grid
248
2 more female s have managed to escape.
