hi (((rose)))
FWs
congrats, diz!
hey ya dee. we are roasting here. have had temps of 104+ today. massive cool change on the way though.
WTG DIZ!!!
wow! hope your a/c is working :)
lol, that plus 2 fans....
lol... sounds like my house in the summer
anything to keep the air moving
we have ceiling fans in most of our rooms, and they literally run almost year round for air movement... I hate being in a room with no air movement
ditto. don runs around shutting all the doors and windows, and i run around after him and open them again. i hate being in an hermatically sealed house. i HAVE to feel the air moving.
glad to have lickety for last 17 fireworks
ceiling fans are all part of the reno's which at the moment are stalled.
well done Dee
YAY DEE!!!!! *relurk*
WTG DEE!!!
Totally agree... lol, plus hubby turns thermostat up and I turn it down LOL
ty stid, gran, flosey :)
hoping to get our Christmas decorations down tomorrow and Sunday... always looks naked after we put them away LOL
at least you put yours up. maybe this year we will feel more like christmas.
We were a little blase about decorations this year... too much going on. I was glad to get something up, so I know exactly what you mean.
Well, I am off til the flip. Enjoy your day / eve!!
sweet dreams dee
and to you, rose, stid, flosey, et al ... *poofing with hugs*
goodnight Dee, sweet sleep
(((flosey))) to you, too :) *poofing for real*
stalled with 9 to go -- maybe tomorrow -- good night
sweet dreams, dee --
sweet dreams nan!
hello, is anyone still here?
yes flosey.
hi again rose, was quiet here for a while
yes. how are you, dear? and your family?
I'm stuck on my last word, lo5/10 do you have a clue for me?
plural, use the other last consonant
ah rose, daughter is doing so well, she hasn't looked so rested in a long time
an answer to prayers then.
flosey, plural your first lo4/4
for sure, rose - we see each other on skype
ok for crying out loud!!! didn't realize what you meant when you said use other last consonant
*giggle*
how can I be such a numbskull
you're tired?
I tried everything else
yes, tired but happy, relieved
reassured
there were so ma4 plurals which i missed because i didn't see that other letter.
ah, well, guess that's what keeps us coming back
I've been looking at this for over an hour - listening to Richard Clayderman all along
and mind wandering all over the place
nice....don has just turned on antiques roadshow...
that's always interesting
especially when you see something like you personally have sitting in your crystal cabinet...
I don't watch much tv here - unless there's a special
i also have been having a feast of downton abbey. gosh, maggie smith is priceless.
tv is downstairs - our house is built into the hillside so downstairs is open one side and front, back is built intothe hill
downstairs front is 1 bedroom and family room, back is spare room, laundry, freezer/storage, and stairway
lol...at the moment i would need a stair chair to get up and down.
haven'tneeded anything like that yet
might be awkward installing here, stairs come half way east, then a landing before they turn and go south
I watched one episode of D A - couldn't get into it - most of the Brits I know watch it
always liked Maggie Smith though
i have watched them all. i have the dvd's.
ah, so you can see quite a run of it - rather than one episode at a time
yes, it helps with the continuity
my brother (in Ontario) has promised he'll come out for a holiday sometime in the new year - probablySpring
oh lovely flosey. so nice for you. i think i remember he visited last year about the same time?
no, he hasn't been out for many years, he came while he was on honeymoon with second wife (first died, had been sick for a while, he was devastated - then heard from his old high school sweetheart- didn't take much!
she had lost her first husband a few years back
oh...i was mistaken then.. still nice to see him though.
could have been other friends from Ontario, some have been out off and on
one day you will be telling babble world i am there. i am very determined to visit you.
ah, probably when sons were out - they came at different times, one alone, the other with wife and son
yes Rose, I picked up some literature about our area to send to you
when i come over, i will probably need you to co-ordinate jilli and saan as well
oh, and crossy and elegant
before I leave this earth, I want to see all 4 kids and their partners and sons under this roof at the same time
lol....good luck with that...it seems mine are all very much pre-occupied with their lives.
they all come but at different times
both boys are still in Ontario, one east Toronto, the other north/west
Crossy is a bit north of Toronto - he and Elegant came down to meet me once as well as Joso - it was fun meeting them
oh, yes...joso too. any others?
Don't hear from Joso - he doesn't seem to be on anymore
in Toronto area a few - Kate (can't think of her last name, she's not on much either) lives west of TO, over Niagara way or maybe not that far west
yes, i know. i must email him. since moving in the his relations, his times have changed dramatically
darn...kate of course. my head is mush.
ah, I don't remember who he moved in with but it would make a difference - someone to talk to
they keep him on the move. he is keeping more 'regular' hours nowadays.
and another East of TO, name eludes me, teacher out Pickering/Oshawa way
wvteach?
don't think so, but drawing a blank
I draw lots of blanks these days
anyway....when i am planning the trip...i will put out an all points bulletin.
lololol....and why should i be the only one??
yes, get all the names and #s, they'll organize a get together
Kate had wanted to come to our meet-up with Joso and Crossy but there was something else, she was pushed for time - she'd have had to stay over - too much for one day
flosey...i thought it would be in 2 years time. but the state of my hips has to be attended to, dear. i am thinking it will be 3 years now.
we'll be looking forward to it Rose
* wriggles with pleasure*
lots of time to plan and organize
IF I WAS A PUPPY, MY REAR END WOULD BE A BLUR...
ugh.....sorry
lol, funny
but I really must get to bed - just past 1: am
sweet dreams my friend
great chatting, Rose - see you tomorrow, same time, same station
good night now
i'll be here. xoxox
dinner ready. will bbl. xoxox
stuck on un7/52...anyone have a clue?
nevermind, I got it!
and back. sorry i wasn't here to help you pilgrim.
hello?
ni ruby - Happy New Year...
and to you, bojazz!
ni? maybe "hi"
So far, so gpod, but it's only 3 days LOL
I read it as hi, so much for my eyes
start slow, finish fast...
*sigh* {{hugs}} dearest ruby. and g'day bojazz
hi rose
{{rosie}} I have missed you each day and owe you a juicy letter
at the end of an extremely hot day. we are both exhausted.
send some of that heat over here! Today it's a little bit armer but it's been in the 20'sF
ruby...i have to say thank-you so much for the books. already up to the last one. i loved the p d james sequel to pride and prejudice.
sl5 describes my lovely baby girl dog
and sl5 describes me
Hello Babblers!
ruby, add sometimes vowel to doggy description for sl6
{{zzoozz}} I haven't seen you since the year started! Happy New Year
hey ya zooz
And a Happy New Year to you too, Ruby
have to run, but will be back.....like any monster lol
xoxox ruby
You are not a monster, Ruby, why do you think you are like that?
*sigh* my beautiful man has brought me an ice pack for my swollen ankle. it's so soothing.
just kidding, I see too many movies where they shoot a bad guy but not enough, and he always comes back
Have you been over doing it again, Rose?
or even she (fatal attraction)
no zooz, our temp has been 104+ today.
Oh I see, ruby..lol
I can't imagine 104F
Good grief that is rather warm...Hope you have lots of fans going.
The only time I've experienced that was on a construction job in Mesa, Arizona
me neither, Ruby!
zooz, i have spent the greater part of the day on the bed...a/c on, fans blowing.
but I was much younger
8woof*
Yes I can imagine it being very uncomfortable, Rose. Surley the night time shall bring a slight relief?
lol....enjoy your day, ruby. xoxox
fingers crossed, zooz. cool change has arrived, but not a lot of variation. city center is a lot cooler, but the change moved much further west than where we live. we are on the edge.
Crosses fingers for you too, Rose :-)
ta crossy
how is elegant? she wasn't at all well the last time we spoke.
Errm I am zoozzoom, Rose :-)
ugh, sorry zooz. my poor head has been fried today...
lol...no worries, ((Rose))
are you sure you two aren't interchangeable? would be very handy if you were....lol
then again...maybe not....
Teehee!
I do like bacon though :-)
there you go....we are all bacon fanatics.
maple syrup optional....
lol
i had the most amazing roast pork sandwich yesterday....i thought i had died and gone to heaven. the crackling was done to a turn.
I love shredded iceberg lettuce, quartered boiled egg, sliced & squared avacado and diced cripsy bacon salad..it is lush!
i swear....it was nearly an inch thick, dripping with gravy and apple sauce.
That sounds yummy, Rose!
i don't care how you serve it....gimme the pork/ham/bacon.
oh, zooz, your salad sounds like to die for...
Do you not have any icepop or icepoles as we call them in your freezer compartment to cool you down and refresh you, Rose?
Strawberry ones are nice :-)
yes we do zooz. but we have just finished dinner. tummy full.
Yeah but just one to freshen the mouth with won't hurt!
After all it is just frozen flavoured water!
in about 10 minutes perhaps. room starting to cool down now.
That is good then. Might become more bearable soon.
we have the frozen fruit juice ones, no added sugar.
They sound even better!
What time is it now where you are, Rose?
nearly 10:30 pm saturday
11:22am here now.
Saturday also.
so 9 hours behind me
Gosh you eat late...I can't eat much food after 8pm otherwise I tend to get indigestion when i retire for the evening.
Yes i will trt and remember that.
Try*
lol....zooz after years of having to eat when the mother wanted, it is a luxury to eat when we are hungry.
Sorry, Rose, I was not saying when you eat is wrong. I was just saying I can't :-) and what you say makes perfect sense.
appreciate it, zooz. fortunately don and i have cast-iron stomachs.
Talking of cast iron stomachs, I tried sushi again in the summer last year. I gagged instantly it touched my mouth. The texture of raw fish for some reason does not agree with me..lol
My friends found it funny though. They said my face was a picture and a half..lol
I take it the word 'Mank' must be a slang word.
lol....you should see me trying to eat mashed potato.
Oh wow isn't it strange..I love mashed potatoes!
Nice creamy & buttery..oh gosh now I am drooling..lol
the texture of the mashed spuds which my mother made was really gag worthy. nowadays, don and i mash them as you say...mother's were very dry
Oh yes I agree.Dry potaotes is not nice at all.
Potatoes*
and i am finding the foam from toothpaste also gagging. i thought it was the head of my toothbrush. switched to an itty-bitty electric one. same result.
I also love a good baked potato too!
don is constantly rushing into the bathroom, concerned, because he can hear me gagging.
oh, me to, zooz. i love them crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. and the pumpkin has to be burnt.
I have been find lately when I have brushed my teeth my throat seem to get a thick mucas type phlem. And I have to keep swallowing to get rid of it. then after a while it goes.
for the nasty description in there.
Must be an ingrediant in the toothpaste that my throat re-acts to maybe.
ugh, zooz. it sounds like your sinuses are draining.
Hi all :) H
Hi all :)
You could be right there, Rose.
{{hugs}} liz girl
Hello, Liz :-)
Twice for good measure ;)
A Happy New Year to you and yours, Liz!
zooz, could you try a sinus spray?
And to you and yours zooz. Hope you're keeping warm, while Rose and I are trying to keep cool.
What type would you recommend, Rose?
Thank you, Liz I am just about keeping warm..There is another cold front on its way tommorrow :-(
one with an antihistamine perhaps. himself alternates between sinex and telnase. he finds it works better alternating them.
perhaps google them zooz, and find what is similar in your neck of the woods.
Are you managing to keep cool Rose? I saw the temps in Melbourne and heard about the Victorian fires.
do you thinnk it is connected that sometimes My throat will start to close a little getting an over production of saliva massivley resulting in continuing to swallow and it is rather distressing as it will last all night and for a day or two then nothing again for weeks?
liz, not only victoria, but also south australia. fortunately step-daughter lives on the coast so she is safe. we have had the a/c and 2 fans on all day.
Sorry for asking..but never thought if i should see my doctor about it.that is also the first time i have tried to describe what was going on..lol
Guess it's that time of year. Hope everyone stays safe.
Oh no not more fires, Liz!
sounds like sinusitis in a major way zooz. try the alternating treatments. don does a 2 week rotation which seems to work well.
Bad enough if they are natural ones, Liz. hope you do not get any man made ones this year!
Thank you very much, Rose, I will try them and hope it works!
Not in Queensland - well, not near us. But as Rose said, in Victoria and S Australia. I believe a 17 yr old has been arrested for starting a fire.
np's zooz. hope your chemist can help you.
loth
Sorry!
why would they want to do that..even if they are having problems..why put other people and animals at risk?
Already got that one.
Have written them down, Rose :-)
I thought I'd entered it this afternoon. But obviously it didn't take then.
liz, zooz...could you please pass my xoxox on to sprite. nearly 11pm here and i am fading.
Sleep well Rose. Happy I caught you :)
and xoxox to you both, dear friends.
Hugs :)
Zooz, have you got the 2nd ma 6/7 combo?
Sweet sleeps Rose. And thanks for the chat & advice :-)
yes i do, Liz.
Little clue pls?
Male+ 3rd vowel + everyday two letter wod.
word*
Then plural for the 7
Thanks - thanks pretty much how I originally tried to spell the 8/9 combo!
It didn't work!
I struggled with the first MA 6 &7 lol
It suddenly came to me! Out of the blue. I must've seen / read the word somewhere.
What is the 8/9 combo - is it also an ma?
It is, Matty
Yes, Matty. How are you? How was your trip - not too harrowing I hope.
And Happy New Year to you and yours.
anyone please help with to7? monkeys gave up...
Sorry, don't have it yet.
It was as good as could be expected under the circumstances - having a six year old around at Christmas keeps one from getting to mournful. I'm glad to be back though
Could I get a clue for the ma8/9?
Difficult for you I'm sure. But happy you're home safely.
TO + double consonant + 2nd vowel+ two hile tiles on the end.
to 7/48 ?
High tile points*
ma 8 - male + abbrev for north + 1st person pronoun + road you pay a fare to drive on minus the last consonant (then plural it)
Ad when you say it to yourelf it sounds like you are saying Toffee.
Dee's clue from earlier
Thanking you all kindldy!
kindly, even
Thanks Zooz
tx for the great clues!
Ty zooz and Liz. Just could not see it.
yw
Welcome, Nurse1000 :-)
Hi all. Thanks for the help. Not a kind grid for me today.
Such beautiful dogs, Une. Don't know how you can transport them and then leave them. I've been meaning to say that for a while.
I was just thinking, Liz.How can anyone abandon such lovely dogs!
And I always love looking at, Une, icon through-out the year.Such diffrent characters you can see in their faces.
Well, I guess that is the first question. My friend posted something to that effect on Facebook today - about neutering dogs - 67000 potential dogs from one unneutered female dog and her offspring in 6 years.
I found yesterdays grid to be a bit of a bind, Nurse.especailly the Ss
especially*
Typing has gone awry again!
Leaving it for tonight with 20 left for tomorrow. Enjoy your days.
Sweet sleeps, Liz! Nice to catch up with you :-)
Liz, fyi they're all going to rescues, fosters, and adopters that have been VERY carefully vetted . . . very reassuring . . . and yes, i pretty much fall in love with each one even during that short transport :-)
If we didn't sterilize our females, we would have 10 or 12 pups a year. But I am loathe to "fix" Rufie as he is such a magnificent specimen and NE! lolVER chases girl. Actually, his baby sister mounts him
LOL hey, ruby :-)
I am a dog lover, Une.And am greatful for the transporting you do :-)
bonjour, un. Our Rufie has a local fan club' they come to the gate and take his picture
tx zooz :-)
OMG how cute, ruby!!
Of all of our 7 chows over the years, he is the most beautiful and also the nicest, but is still an excellent guard dog. ( I'm not sure if he'd bite a bad guy, though). Don't tell anyone
Well as long as it is enough to put these type of people off, Ruby, is all that matters :-)
We gave a little cocktail party yesterday and he was an angel, checked everybody out and then went snoringly to sleep.
Of course, he had a little pate
sweet..lol
the painter and electrician said they were coming this afternoon but I'll believe it when I see it.
That bad heh
they decided that I needed to change the lights in the kitchen as they were high intensity and always going out. But it turns out to be a big (and expensive) job and I am at their mercy
What just to change the bulbs to a lower wattage one..Or have they decided to keep them and change the circuits instead!
they are installing LED's (whatever that is) and, therefore, changing the whole (complicated) system
Tell them to just change the bulbs, Ruby, I am sure you do not need the whole system changing. Are you sure they are not just trying to rip you off?
Ruby, have you considered getting a second estimate? I think these guys may be taking you for a ride.
Snap, Molly!
My thoughts exactly!
They already removed a transformer, so I'm stuck, and have already bought the materials. It is possible that they are ripping me off, but I am stuck
The good news is that the 3 LED's they,ve aready installed are lively, so even if it's too expensive, the end result may be worth it
lovely (also lively)
Negotiating all this stuff on my own and in French isn't easy. At least the painter did a very good and clean job with the wallpaper and paint in the kitchen and entry hall.
Well in future, Ruby, It might be best to get several qoutes before committing to one service. But as long as you are happy. Hate to think you are being made an easy target.
Also, the day my husband "lost" the car keys, he took me to the dealership nd food shoppig, so maybe he's a friend
I wS ABLE, HOWEVER, TO NEGOTIATE A LOWER PRICE WITH THE vw DEALERSHIP FOR THE NEW KEY AND WITH THE CAR INSURER FOR A LOWER RATE. sO THERE ARE SOME GOOD THINGS, TOO
whoops, sorry for shouting, it's that wayward pinkie again
Ruby, contractors often see women who make these decisions alone as fair game for expensive work. Can you ask any of your male friends at the restaurant to come over and bargain with them?
We have had people in the news here, Ruby, For being best friends for an elderly couple..would do anything for them.Turned out..this so called best friend was stealing thousands of pounds from them.Being kind to you.Does not really mean they are being a friend. They could be..but just be wary :-)
Yes Zoom, especially wealthy older people.
Good iea, Molly. The person who got us into all the fisc trouble did itt to my (not yet) husband, also a friend.
Alas, we used to be wealthy but are still old!
and he stile a lot of money
stole*
<-- NOT YET ELDERLY!!!!
My parents say they are elderly but still young at heart :-)
I still feel like dancing, just don't get the chance
when you do babble..put the wireless on and have a little jig, Ruby :-)
and turn Skype off! lol
Ruby, you may not consider yourself wealthy, but to others you may appear so. Also, the language issue makes you a prime candidate for a swindle.
I am listening to music right now.I usually have music on when on the computer.
I bet you dance very well, Ruby :-)
good afternoon all
Hello, Sprite :-)
hey zooz :) *hugs* How are you and your parents today?
I think because it's a big house, compared to what local older couples have, we may appear so. And being Americans.
Rose sends her love but was exhausted from the 104f heatand retired for the evening.
All seems well in the zoozs camp thanks. Not seen parent stoday as it is my sister doing the rounds today.Which is just as well as it is raining on and off..lol
am glad she went to bed, zooz. I am crazy late. I hope she sleeps well :)
hello sprite -- just going to crash with the NYT puzzle
have a good crash, ruby :) And enjoy the puzzle. *hug*
Well I hope it is a good crazy late and not the bad dream type crazy late.
it is the flu crazy late. Am sitting here glassy-eyed and coughing, hoping the pain in my hips will subside enough for me to go back in bed.
Urgh..horrid...Hope you have a hot water-bottle with you..tissues..and a nice hot chicken soup.
hot coffee, lots of tissues. I am good for now :)
bye everybody
bye ruby, have fun
I have chicken soup heating up as we speak....and i'm not even sick!
I was up half the night with a hacking cough..just can't seem to shake that last bit of the cold out of me..But having the flu is worse than what i had..so can imagine how you are felling :-9
Must admit, Rolin, I love chicken soup!
aw zooz, how positively rotten :( Nights last forever that way.
Toodle pips, Ruby.
Scotty, beam me over to rolin's! Hey rolin :)
well this is the proper stuff.... good jewish chcken soup... rich and meaty
lol
sounds delish
And Happy New Yeaaar to you, Rolin :-)
Zoom, there is some kind of a non-flu cold going around that lasts FOREVER. Many people around here have had it and it lasts for weeks.
Oh real bits of chunky chicken!
hey sprite... i was wondering how i could get some over to you... there's anpther prtion frozen in the freezer...i reckon the cold would keep it ok if i posted it..lol
lol rolin :) Indeed. Send it over!
Well I hope I have not got that then, Molly!
the only thing im missing are the noodles...but im going low carb so i dont make them..*sigh*
ks killed
good morning everyone:)
thing I need..lol
one more k to go
Hello, Crossy :-)
low carb is good
There is actually a grannyschickensoup.com where you can order chicken soup. I don't know if they ship international though. And it's way cheaper to make it yourself.
go go goooo ro!
its working for me..thats for sure
but now my soup is ready.... catch you lovely people later
I will ask my love to make me some. I think his chickensoup is as good as the granny's one.
enjoy your, Soup, Rolin!
bye ro, have a good one and enjoy the chicken soup for both of us
Must admit youhave to have a bit of buttered crusty bread to go with a soup!
ouch no, thank you. My throat is being nasty. Just soup. And coffee.
Just tried the website, Molly. But it will not load :-(
LOL well no you can ommit the bread then, Sprite :-)
Omit*
thanks, zooz ;)
I found it it's Grandmaschickensoup.com
And good morning.
Thanks, Sukee :-)
Did you enjoy the Christmas Drwho?
I did, very enjoyable.
hi sukee! Found it... they don't ship internationally, it looks like. But a brilliant idea anyway.
Amazing what you can buy online. never thought people would order chicken soup..lol
Could not would.
I swear i am losing my marbles.
yeah it is a great idea
Well you can but tins of soup..so why not freshly homemade.
nah you are not, silly. A couple of typos does not a marbleless zooz make.
If so, then I have losr my marbles long ago
There might be some company in the UK that does it or France, or a great chance to start a new business.
I actually think it is this laptop..It does not seem to type everything I try and type.
Hi crossy, long time no see
howdy sukee
hey crossy :) *hug*
((sprite))
Well even with your lost marbles, Crossy, You still have a wealth of information that helps us all here on babbleland :-)
awww, shucks...:)
My cat is being lazy today, he won't get out of bed and took over most of my bed before I got up.
mork calling mindy....
aw that is so sweet, sukee
Talking of which. My firefox does not seem to be running too well. i want to delete it and re-install it. But I want to make sure I have got rid of all of it..Any tips?
I find it amazing how one sigle feline weighing about 8 pounds is able to take over an entire queen sized bed with ease;)
Morning, gang
Used to love that show...many moons ago now.
Hello, Pipping :-)
hi pippin :)
are you comfortable working in the registry editor, zooz?
I will give it a stab, Crossy.
zooz: http://tinyurl.com/cdv9atn
you can email me if it is a long winded process. Don,t want me hogging the chogging :-)
Well, be sure; one boo-boo in regedit and you can mess up your computer badly. If you are unsure, go to program files inside your c drive instead
best thing to do is make a backup of the registry first.
Did that one already, Sprite. But it still had my extensions and add-ons when i re-installed.
Sad that manky is not considered a word
pippin, what would it mean?
I think we will try in program files first. it is less perilous and not long winded. Fist uninstall FF using Ccleaner, then go to c drive/program files and remove the empty FF folder then re-install
Mank should be, Pipping... but i think the other is mankey.
Mank as in skanky
http://tinyurl.com/cdv9atn gives a step by step approach, zooz
But that just gave me another word :)
and sprite gave you a great link as well:)
Cool Okay will get started..if you don't hear from me for a while it is because i will be re-starting computer and stuff.
Thanks, Sprite :-)
because if you have never used regedit before it can be dangerous. i have seen people fry a perfectly good computer by making errors in there:(
yvw zooz :) Good luck.
too true, crossy. Regedit takes patience. You have to be sure you are in exactly the right spot.
I have used it before, Crossy :-)
Ak. ok, then go in, find the mozilla file under all the software tabs and removes the values
then restart computert
I have noticed that firefox keeps freezing now and again and i have to turn it off and on again..but it gets annoying after a while. Also when i type into the chog and press return it takes a few seconds before it goes.It never did that before.
but back up, just in case
That is why I stopped using Firefox, it kept crashing. I use Chrome now.
same for me
FF used to be the be all-end all but Chrome has surpassed it now
Chrome is a tad intrusive though. it is like the Facebook of browsers:)
remember though, when in regedit, zooz, there may be more than one instance of the mozilla file. you will have to search them out under all the available software headings
I will type in %APPDATA%
it May be there, but you do not always get the detail you would wish\
In case you were wondering I am using explorer at the moment :-)
It is ok, it washes off afterwards;)
lol
lol
does anyone have the N word from the N below the other N?
I.E: The browser that has loaded more browsers than any other browser.
josephjames: it isn't one of the first 8 clues
Not yet
ah thanks
yvw :)
what about the 8 and the 9?
Ah, ty sprite
just found an ma 8/45;)

Howdilly doo, Babblers!

morning all!
hi
I have to ruminate on what "to taking rumination" means : P
ask the babble dictionary people...
I would take it to mean a nation of rummies
That is a really stupid word.
yup
When you get it, the only possible reaction is:"WHAAAAAAT?
I'll pretend I didn't unsee that word.
*marks un7 on chalk board in PB as first really stupid word of 2015*

Hi ruby...it's been awhile since I've been on with you...how are you and hubby doing?
5 minutes and someone is "all alone"...hmmm...
*giggle* xoxoxox
pseudo Frenchmen and women...
oh.. you lost me erda
har-de-har har
good. I followed your advice as t vintage years and, although I couldn't necessarily find the exact brand names, I found the following, all from 2013: St. Vran - Mollard, Pouilly Fume - Francis Blanchot, Givry - Michel Sarazin something la Roches (a great hit with the guets), and a St Joseph - Vausanne.
Ru, you little cutie, I could hug you to bits. xoxoxox (((((World)))))
Hello jilly jill. Winter is winter and we get older but make do. At least various Anglophone snowbird friens are in town
Sarazin is a good producer.. Givry is a Chardonnay.. that's a nice choice
how was the St. Veran?
haven't had it yet. I didn't realize that a Chardonnay could be red
LOL...and our snowbirds have left here ruby
oh.. Givry rouge is Pinot.. I thought you were looking for Chardonnays Ruby sorry
These were all from the local supermarket, so the selection was somewhat limited.
aaa, that's what I thought
There are Givry Blancs too those are Chardonnay and sometimes another grape
I'm saving the Pouilly Fume for moi
have some seafood with it thought
though
Ok..79 left...off to be productive
unfortunately, it's easier to find good wine than fresh seafood around here
I made some really good seafood stew for New Year's Eve. The wine was not quite as high falutin' as the ones you all are discussing though.
*marks jilly's word count on the chalkboard*
UNKILT : not in the dictionary ... sheesh
I'm sure your seafood made up for it. These were not particularly expensive except for the Pouilly
is it a Pouilly Fume or a Pouilly Fuisse?
My little cocktail soiree yesterday was a success. It's amazing what delicious pates and such can be found in little jars.
Fume
wow.. why would that be so expensive.. ? Hmm
Expensive compared to the other, that is. I think it was 33 euros
wow
that's pricey
so you had unfalutin' wine molly?
but fallutin' seafood
In that case.. yes.. but just keep the Pouilly for you.. it will keep well in the fridge for 2-3 days too opened.
I also bought a chignon Bergeron which is very local. I don't l'Ike it very much
I am hoping this year to have some wine with some fallutin' if you know what I mean :D
I like the Chasselas wines up your way Ruby
I bet you like that St.Veran a lot too.. that should have been reasonable no?
I'm writing that down because I don't know it. This village used to be all vinyards which accounts for my very rocky, hilly garden
I don't remember what it cost, but I haven't tasted it yet. I welcome your counsel
The view and location were too good, however, sos the vinyards went by the by and it because a fancy little town
I sell the most expensive Pouilly Fume in the world here in California.. most of the appellation is reasonable.. I don't know Blanchot.. so I may have to do a little homework on why it's so pricey
The Annecy hautee brougeoisie often had summer places here in Veyrier (which I find very funny as it' 15 minue away)

that makes me think of that film .. was it Truffaut?

Discreet Charm, yes, Pauline, non hahah

I haven't either

what does that mean?
i th*** you need to up that groan count some ru
grimy
not yet.. I'm trying though.. i'll keep track
it doesn't accept hinky either which american slang
silent groans don't count
hahaha
that explains why it is so low. . . no one wants to give you the satisfaction!
lurkers generally groan in silence
I usually can count on Erda for a few a day :D
:)
is there any welsh in the grid today?
gosh I don't know.. there are a lot of strange words in this grid however
seeing the c and the w near together made me wonder. . . .
no cw's
ah . . . thanks
