good morning all
hi Sprite
hi flosey :) Nice to see you, how are you?
Hello, Sprite :-)
whew, nailed all the B words
hi zooz, dear man! How are you and yours?
All well here.And you?
am pretty good today, thanks :)
Nice one, Flosey!
wow good job flosey!
good thanks Sprite, daughter has just completed all 40 proton therapy treatments, following cancerous tumour on her brain - all is well and no problems at all
we are well and truly blessed
am so glad it went well, flosey. Must have been pretty scary. *hug*
it was scary of course, but she sailed through it like a pro, had to have to proton therapy in States - not done in Canada yet, so went to Seattle, was able to drive home for weekends
about a 3 hour drive
you brought her up well, flosey... quite a courageous lady
ah sprite, she's a very strong person, morally and physically
and, with Skype, we were able to have 3 way chats quite frequently
skype is such a blessing in situations like that
her hubby was great throughout as well - and her 5 year old son took it all in stride
sounds like it is time for a family vacation now :)
they're just enjoying time together right now, coming over for a few days in another week
lovely. having them really there is even better than skype.
they buy a living Christmas tree, so they're bringing it over to plant here on the farm - along side last year's
I like that! When we still had Xmas trees, we 'leased' them. We have this firm that sells living trees, then takes them back after Xmas and replants them. You cannot cut out the top, but that is ok. And you get a discount voucher when you return your tree.
great idea
so you don't do Christmas trees now?
they have a success ratio of 80%, so that is pretty good
that's really great, Sprite
no we don't. The children are at friends' most of the time now, and my love and I don't like Xmas much. So nowadays we do some decoration, lots of candles and not much else.
we had friends in for supper tonight so set a table in front of the fireplace - along with candles, hubby loves doing this
that sounds wonderful, flosey
we do this even when we
are alone
I think that is great. When my love and I are alone, we usually do candles too. But setting the table... we tend to settle for a tv dinner, to be honest.
sorry babblers, if we're monopolizing the chat, will break for a bit
everybody is welcome to drop in at any time
but the ambience is so restful
so true. I think it is a good thing. You inspire me to put more effort into this next time.
good!
I changed my icon - if you click you see the change but here is same old
ohhh I love it!
tks
If it is about the coffee.then i can see it in the chat log, Flosey :-)
really! thanks zooz
I still see the old one
yeah I do too, here in chat. It won't change until you refresh the whole page or the expert.
If you right click within the chat log part.then refesh it should give you the new icon.
have been in and out of babble several times since changing it
you may have to refresh the pages where you change the icon as well. Back in the icon theme days, I refreshed twice in every page.
Yay found 323 words.Need to rest my eyes a bit and have a cup of tea.
sounds like a plan, zooz. Enjoy!
strange! still the same
wtg Zooz, I have 245 - just over half way, should get to bed
but will find a few more!
I force-refreshed and now I see your black icon in chog as well, flosey
ah, how do you force-refresh?
on a windows, Control + F5.
will try
good luck :)
ah, here we are! thanks Sprite
yvw flosey. I love the icon.
me too, I love coffee
hot and strong
like our men :D

cooee and g'day from me.....spritey....come back!! waaahhh!!
hi Rose
hello dearest flosey. how is everything in your world?
everything is great, thanks, how about you?
lovely at the moment. weather has cooled somewhat. some sunshine with a light breeze.
backkkk... and I am a freakin' hero! Appointment for the dentist's on wednesday, ugh.
hi my darling rose :)
xoxoxox sprite, i am proud of you, sweetie.
good for you Sprite,
thanks. Am shaking in my boots tbh. Told them so too, lol, so they know... and understand... and will make sure I survive :)
is this just a normal nervousness about dental work Sprite? or are you undergoing heavy work?
* gentle huggles * sprite. just picture me there, holding your hand. what time on wednesday?
at 1.50 pm
flosey, my tooth broke off. And I have an intense fear of dentists. Part of my ptsd.
flosey, sprite and i share a morbid fear of dentists. to do with our past, something we are both working on all the time.
*quick check to see if 'intense' was in the grid... pfew, it isn't*
well, they aren't my best friends, but tolerate them
it is a known fact that people with abuse and/or incest in their pasts may develop a dentist phobia. Not really weird if you realise it is a stranger putting things in your mouth and hurting you.
it is also part of our constant nausea and gag reflex like you wouldn't believe.
interesting
but I'm falling asleep now, must get to bed, it's half past midnight
bb tomorrow
exactly. It is hell, lol. I literally sit here shaking just at the thought of having to go. And when I am there, I'll have to constantly check myself or I will dissociate and that is very much a no-go.
well past half way
sleep well, flosey, and sweet dreams!
flosey, i gag on the foam formed from toothpaste. makes for interesting morning rourine.
ugh....routine
ah rose, that would be difficult
oh that is funny, I have exactly the same thing. I can't stand the burn of toothpaste at all, too.
wow, but really must run before I sleep right here!
poor flosey, with the keyboard imprinted on her cheek ;)
i have to spit at least three times in three minutes in order to get the full time with my toothbrush. poor don gets really worried, especially when i forget to close the door.
sweet dreams flosey.
I had better do a thorough cleaning routine for the days to come, sigh. Mouthwater and all. I have slacked off with it and this is the result.
sprite, it isn't surprising. how about talking to your dentist? my friend only uses mouth wash. but all her teeth are straight. mine are all crooked and crowded together. so i have to brush...* sigh *
I will ask her (or him) on wednesday. I cannot stand mouthwater either, it burns so badly in my mouth.
try salt water?
that is an idea. I will ask, for sure.
perhaps then, salt water rinse, and flossing. it will definitely help i am sure
I'll suggest it. It is always better than nothing, right? Pffff am nauseated just talking about it, lol.
xoxox...col....okay no more...
how are you today, darling?
i ast outside again today and unravelled another knot of the yarn. i think don liked me being there.
I love it. You are a hero too, you know.
i took endone yesterday, so probably why i had a slightly better night.
good call. You really don't want to get stuck in the spiral of pain - no sleep - more pain - even less sleep
just one more knot to work on. am thinking i will finish the garment, then decide who it would suit.
that is wonderful, rose. As a tribute to Robyn. I don't know which size it will be, but I am sure you will find a worthy recipient.
our charity shops have odd balls of yarn for very low cost. i am thinking of buying them and knitting up garments for sale on our church stall.
that is so much fun. You could do children's stuff too, which is always fun to make and quick.
lol....once it is finished i will be calling for measurements. the one it fits, gets it. the yarn is several pastel colours. it will be very pretty and warm when finished.
is it wool? Or synthetic?
pure wool, sprite. i don't knot in synthetics. except by request.
lol...knit...but knot is good too
ah, that excludes me than, in advance! I cannot wear wool at all.
dinner ready. i'll be back in about 15 minutes. will you still be here?
yes I will, enjoy your meal!
cul8r....xoxox
and back...tummy nice and full again...
hi sweetie :) Wel bekome, as we say here.
thanxd ea
thanxd ea
ugh...aaaaggghhhh
thanx dear
*giggles* Cobi, a dear friend of mine, just told me to take the heck a calming pill. So... oxazepam inside of me.
good idea cobi...you the woman!!!!
lol. I have those pills sitting here and I hardly remember to take them. Always try to battle panic the hard way. Must learn to allow myself some compassion.
like me with the endone sprite
yes, it is the same thing really. We tend to be too hard on ourselves, don't we
soooooo....pull them out....leave them in an obvious place.
just did, grin. On my desk now, and instructed by cobi to keep up the dose until wednesday.
i carry a sheet of endone in my handbag. that way i know i don't have far to find them.
I usually can manage without them. But right now, I can't, so there. Will take them and be good to myself :)
good for you, dear
ohhhh! My son just found me an amazing voice artist! He makes a capella versions of all kinds of popular songs. Check out Peter Hollens. http://tinyurl.com/bxcefgf
doing it
wow!!! he's good
isn't he just! I am playing other songs and wow, he does it every time.
all of his singing is great.
and that for my son, lol. Who usually is more into heavy music... don't know the name of his preferred style, but it is loud and has this constant beat, lol
doof-doof.....
lol yes, exactly. He really surprised me with this.
oh I remembered. It is hardstyle.
* nodding head * doof-doof dear, just renamed...lol
lollll so true
i am actually starting to get excited about taking up my knitting again. the most complicated patterns have never fazed me. i knit my ex and aran jacket, and also a scandinavian pattern jacket..
the jumper i was knitting for robyn had small panels of 6 different patterns.
this one too, rose: http://tinyurl.com/ofn2ary
oh it is the same with me, rose! I try everything and it always works out. Have you ever tried Fair Isle knitting?
one of my fave tunes
the child's jumper with only one sleeve to go is fair isle.
I think that is my favorite kind of knitting. I designed and knitted a sweater for my love with it. He wears it all the time in winter.
it is in brilliant scarlet, grey, cream and a soft green.
ohhh sounds pretty! Omg rose... I can picture us... knitting and chatting, or knitting and watching a dvd... soooo relaxed!
Hi there, my friends and hugs to you both
{{hugs}} liz girl
hi Liz! *hugs*
Just got a couple of minutes, while hubby's photographing a tree frog, which has settled in the bird's water outside.
oh cool! Have the neighbours calmed down?
ia am so loving these bigger grids. watch this one though. that s as a plural gets quite a work-out.
Yes, they're quiet at the moment. They went on quite late that evening but no noise since then.
the s on the bottom row. i missed so many purals...i felt such a dill.
sprite's babbling rule # 3: always plural and past-tense everything
I haven't checked through yet. Found 305 so far. Will check through in a couple of hours before bed.
it's probably my technique. i work ti4 by ti4 each row from left to right. i try to get as many as i can from each ti4.
I prefer grids up to about 250 words - can't really be bothered when it's plurals, pt, comparatives etc. Also they take me too long and I'm too self competitive and don't like to give up.
I randomly look for words until I can't find more, then I will be more logical.
so organised! I just type in what I see until I hit a wall. Usually at 2/3 or 3/4. Then I try to grey out some tough tiles.
liz, that is a terrific number to have found.
306 - but now back to Buzzcocks, then Coast Australia :)
OK 5 more minutes, while lovely hubby makes tea.
buzzcocks? Owwwwkay....
sprite...the ocd takes over....lol....or as don would say...cdo as the letters are now in alphabetical order.
Never mind the.
Have you had a lovely Australia Day, Rose?
Hi, Zooz
lol yes rose :)
hi zooz welcome back
Hello, LIz & Rose.Happy Australia Day!
Never Mind the Buzzcocks - UK pop quiz - used to be much funnier - more ad-lib. Now a bit scripted and not as funny but has its moments.
Thanks, Sprite!
Thanks Zooz
happy australia day to you both
Thanks, Sprite
2 years an Aussie citizen today :)
just another day, liz. don called it invasion day...to which i said...consider what it would have been like if another nation had settled here. our indigenous people miss that point totally. and i personally did not invade this country. why do i have to pay the price?

We had rain and more and more rain on Friday!
Hasn't been cool here for a couple of months now.
Of course Rose. I understand that and also sympathise.

well done mkg, it was tricksy because it came on the heels of the land related ones.
I love these big grids but today I feel like I've been typing forever and still have 73 left.
I too love big grids. I take little breaks to refresh my eyes. Normally does the trick..lol
juniper, plural and past tense. the s in the bottom row gets a good work out
It's the plurals that get me most times.

And fireworks for me!
wtg, zooz

it is so past my bedtime.....xoxox to all who follow. enjoy the grid. don't forget to pluralise and past tense.
goodnight
wow, it's like they knew we had a snow day coming
Morning all.
Hi all :)
Hi Sukee
Hi Liz
400 down - leaving the rest until tomorrow. Enjoy your day, Sukee and others.
Take care.
You too.
Yahoooo! Good morning all!
Hi car.
I'm off to make breakfast.
Yummmm
So, my ex broke into my apartment and tried to choke me to death. Police just left. How's everyone else getting along?
OMG! I'm so sorry to hear that. You ok?
Are you okay Red? Did they arrest him? Do you have someplace safe to go?
Shaking like a leaf. He's been arrested.
I'm terrified, actually. Sorry. Can't think of anyone I can talk to about it right now except y'all.
(((redshoes))) That's quite all right. Talk away.
maybe on the way to jail he'll try to escape and they'll shoot the sob...
My poor roommate just moved here (to this city ... state, even!) a month ago today.
I feel so bad. She's got to be terrified, too.
My throat hurts. A lot.
At least she was there. I assume she called the police.
Maybe you should go to the hospital. Your throat could start to swell after all that abuse.
No. I was able to break away and he left the room and I called them. I tried to yell for help, but she sleeps with a fan on.
I sleep with earplugs, so I didn't even know he was there until he tried to get into bed with me.
Oh boy. Well, it's a good thing you got away from him.
The police kept asking if I needed an ambulance and how I was doing. Seeing as how I've never been strangled before, I don't have a good basis for comparison as to how injured I might be.
OMG, I just came on and I am so sorry, red. You should go to an ER and have this on file at the hospital
I've never had anything like this happen to me before.
I don't have insurance.
Call the police and ask them for a domestic abuse line that you can call
I'm just finally feeling less traumatized over my sister's suicide two years ago and now I'm jumpy and horrible all over again.
They gave me information to call. I will later this morning.
Please call them as soon as you can.
good lord, red, i am so so sorry this happened to you!!!
I will. Thank you Anniebrook. Thank you everyone.
Yes I agree with Annie. Call them now. They will have information for you. Maybe some help for the er.
I would call them right away. You need to see a doctor and have this on record.
Okay. The police took pictures and stuff too.
But knowing the internal damage would be good.
red, the er cannot refuse to treat you even with no inusrance
I'm surprised the police didn't make you go.
they should have taken you by ambulance.
Thanks everyone. I'm going to find someone to go with me. I just can't do this alone. I appreciate everyone.
take care and keep up posted!
red, you will be okay. Just get to an er. Let us know what is happening
I'm wondering why EMTs were not sent to the scene since an attack was reported.
{{redshoes}} my thoughts and prayers are with you
Thanks. Will do. Bye for now.
Exactly what i was thinking Molly
good morning friends!
Hello my Luv!
v
woot - nbt without having to think much. WIN
Like a Boss!
I am halfway through!
Interview today...think good thoughts!
go car go!!!
((((good thoughts))) = pastoral center?
Yes
I'm calling the oil guys at 8 :15 - please keep good thoughts for me too!
You betcha!
And keep in mind, we have the generator now.
Update: Going to a friend's house and she's going to take me to the ER.
im so embarrassed....
sounds like a good plan, red - get all the documentation you can get. There should be a warrant out for him NOW
He's been arrested.
excellent
Trif...please to be texting me Secundo's address?
Will update again later. Thanks all. Bye again for now.
okay.
WOOOOT - I have a snow day tomorrow! Just got the official nod
Sweeeeeeet! Norwell will, of course, wait until tomorrow morning....
LOL...the Mall Cop is in the grid!
de 7/32 plz
Good lord...wa4 to take mom during this storm and give us a break?
Will look with you ivesy.
... get off a locomotive
ty doseffing
tyvm..
Wa4 to pay all my bills?
Sure!
The snow has been kind of a non event here so far. But it' is coming down now and I'm concerned that everyone went to work and school and the PM commute is going to be a disaster.
in all honesty, it's likely to be VERY cold the next few days at my house....I would take mom in a heart beat, but in as much as we will likely be heading to your house, what's the point?
where are you molly?
DC Metro
I thought this storm was coming down from the north? I'm so clueless
Oh boy...they should let them out early in staggered shifts.
nbs
:)
What is the expected snowfall, Molly? We are looking at 2-3 feet
... the cold comes from the north ... the snow almost always comes from the midwest
... even our snow
If you look at a weather map the pattern is down from the north and then it starts to move west
One thing that is really cute - we have a brand new student that just arrived here from last week, from Brazil. She doesn't speak a single word of English, but we have a translator for her. She had never seen snow before last week. Her excitement and wonder is rather endearing.
Oh, sweet!
shes adorable
I'm sure I would still have all my child like wonder about snow if I didn't have to shovel it and drive in it
... they'll learn ... ... the joy of the first snow seldom lasts to the second snow
True dat.
and it was SUPER pretty out this weekend
She will have something to tell her grandchildren and children
I agree, molly, but her enthusiasm is rather cheering
<---- still loves it each and every time it snows.
<---Still hates every cold, freezing moment of it
<----- looking forward to Florida trip in February
<---- is really hoping Hubby will take all of us when he goes to get his mother. We can fly back and he can drives with her.
when is that, car?
March
I need to become a travel agent for Babble players. You people travel more than any group I know.
We need our own jet!
what is norwells policy on kids missing school for vacation these days? I only ask because it's a VERY hot topic right now - lots of schools are flat out banning it
I think it's just that there are so many of us, molly. I never, ever EVER get to go anywhere. I haven't been on vacation - a real one - in YEARS
I once invented a funeral for a fictional Aunt Lucia when my kids went to Saint Lucia with their Dad
I have no id4. I think if the student does all the work it shouldnt' matter...like we used to do.
LOL
Aunt Lucia!!! That is BRILLIANT
I am inventing a fictional, doctor approved illness to cover the two days of school I will miss.
Ok...need to get Dylan on the bus and mom to CareWell. Talk to you later.
I will give you that Trif. You have struggled with finances like a few of us here, so this must be a real treat for you.
... vacations during the school year are a bad idea ... ... but how do you ban it? ...
bye honey
thank you molly. I know you understand
They don't ban it, but it counts as an unexcused absence
I am not sure what the actual policies are, dos - I think the schools that are trying to ban it are basically refusing to let students make up the missed work, and are ordering teachers not to give the kids work to take with them
... I can see not letting them take any make up tests .. a little harsh but I can see it ... ... but I don't understand not giving them work to take with them ... ... tell them your kid has pneumonia and will be off school for two weeks ... they'll give you work for that ... (okay you need an agreeable doctor) ...
Unexcused absence + inability to make up missed work can equal a kid not moving into the next grade. I still don't think parents take it seriously though.
... are we talking a publicly funded school or a private school? ... if it's private then they can establish their own rules and you sign on when your kid enters the school ... ... but a public school? ... I could fail a kid but that's the parent's choice ... ... (okay, I know we don't fail kids anymore)
... oh well ... to each community own choice ... ... got my morning one third done ... must get on with the day ... .. good luck to all
holy moly lol- good morning all- good day for large grid- snowy. still wont finish one this big :-)

tx jazz!
Does anyone have the ab6/24 and 7/36 - I have the 8, thanks to an earlier clue...
ty jazz...that gave me a lot of words
ab + not early, plural, pt
ab = tardy and past tense
off to watch rafa's match! byeee
ab6...more of the ab4
matty...clue for the ab8?
It's an ar8...ar + what hay is squared into + abbreviation for what you drive on
ab6 ends in not early and then plural and past tense
Oh duh, I should read the chat before I post a clue, sorry
hello again friends.
I appreciate the day off tomorrow, but man - having to squeeze into one day what I had three to do is a challenge!
Hi, sorry - got distracted
Oh but it will be so satisfying when you are relaxing in front of a roaring fire with a hot toddy in hand.
And sorry, that should have been the ar6 and 7 I was after - distraction is bad - naughty matty!
there is that, molly...mind you, if the power goes out, that roaring fire will be my ONLY source of heat, so there is that
Oh sadly, I have been there and done that. It's cozy and appealing for a short time. Alas, that wears off as the hours of no power drag on.
On the up side, the beer stays cold. : D
indeed. A bigger issue for me is that I have a well - no power, no flushing. UGH. I fill a bathtub with water before every storm, but still....
I found my glasses!!
hi there peri! Huzzah!!!
:)
I have 4/6 of the 8's. I need help with ra8 and st8 pls

I did remember to be grateful for indoor plumbing a while back when it was 9 degrees when I woke up in the morning.

Please

Hi, everyone...back from the dead. Just am getting over the 3-week flu...almost went to the hospital twice...just awful.
Hi Mimi, so glad you are on the mend
aw too bad Mimi.
Mimi! Your survived!
Off to my job interview. Keep good thoughts!
This will be the first day I, hopefully, can stay up all day. A friend of mine in Cincinnati and one in Atlanta also had it...we wondered how we spread it through the phone!
good luck!
Good luck, car!
The good news is I couldn't eat a morsel for two weeks so I probably lost some weight!
You didn't eat for two weeks?
oh, my
If any of you feel like you're getting it, take the Tamiflu immediately as it might help. But this is a particularly virulent strain and more than one doctor told me it was lasting for 3 weeks.
Nope...not a bite...just liquids and some V8 Fusion.
No wonder it took you three weeks to get over it
Uhg. Sounds awful, Mimi. Glad you are finally feeling better.
The weird thing was that I wasn't even hungry during that time...still only eating very little once or twice a day...half a sandwich, etc.
Babble is welcoming me back with this fabulous big grid!
The viral di4. Not recommended.
The only good thing, Mimi, is that you probably lost weight
No Judi, not at all. Extremely bad for you not to eat solids for that long.
Not so awful to go without solid foods, as long as you have sufficient liquid to keep you hydrated.
I didn't do it on purpose, I just couldn't eat. Now trying to get strength back. Thank goodness my daughter get tabs on me and brought things over and helped care for my cats. I have a neighbor below me who is a nursing student and one across the breezeway who also helped. Feel fortunate that way. I wouldn't let them come in until I was pretty sure I wasn't contagious anymore and so far none of them got sick.
I don't know, unless you are hospitalized and getting the proper balance of nutrients, that sounds pretty bad.
true Judi
That's right, Judi....a person can go quite some time without eating but must keep the fluids going constantly. I made sure not to dehydrate.
the human body is very resilient
I'm one tough old broad.
yes, you are.
What doesn't kill us makes us stronger (usually).
Yeah but doesn't that increase your down time and make it take longer to defeat an illness?
not necessarily
There are a lot of variables.
I'm sorry but I call BS on "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger" and "God never gives you more than you can handle"
It would make you pretty weak, though
Oh good. Then I will start recommending the starvation diet to my friends.
Apparently with this one it doesn't seem to matter...it's 3 weeks of misery regardless. The first few things I did eat gave me the runs. This flu starts as respiratory and goes fully systemic. I still have a little fever when I wake in the morning...odd.
you can be nourished on liquids.
We do it in the hospital all the time.
Milkshakes for everyone!
That's too bad Mimi. The flu going around here seems to be mainly respiratory.
Funny thing is I was supposed to go on the HCG diet that first week!
lol Judi
The V8 Fusion juice my daughter brought me really revived me.
But I couldn't work so lost 3 weeks of pay plus the doc I transcribed was on vacation for 2 weeks before that. No paycheck for 5 weeks...ouch. Thankfully, I have a small buffer.
Well Mimi, you should be all ready for HCG. My friend calls it "starving yourself on hormones" : D
What is HCG diet?
500 calories a day with injections of human chorionic gonadotropin
Yep---500 calories a day with restrictions on what you can eat...no sugar, no fruit, mostly lean protein and veggies. But I'm ready...I've decided I agree with the saying "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels."
I don't buy that
It's basically human growth hormone that you take sublingually once a day to burn the fat instead of the body taking from muscle due to the low calorie count.
I don't buy that either
Yike! 500 cals a day is skimpy. Is this a prep for surgery or something?
I also think there are healthier ways to lose weight
madness!
last ba 7 anyone?
No, and you can only be on it for two months either consecutively or separated by a month. I'm doing it under the supervision of a doctor. The lady who handles this diet lost 80 lbs. Apparently, it's routine to lose 20 pounds the 1st month and 20 more the second and then you start eating more but still with restrictions.
Has this been sanctioned by your doctor, Mimi? Sounds very extreme.
Most people gain the weight right back after they go off it. You can't maintain that kind of diet forever.
Molly, I've tried and tried and just cannot seem to lose so I figure keeping all this weight on is doing more harm that two months on that diet.
a fatal flaw
I've never seen anyone keep the weight off.
Yes, my cardiologist even said it was OK. Since I didn't gain this weight by bad eating habits I shouldn't have too much trouble keeping it off.
The lady who's administering the diet at doctor's office has kept it off for 6 years.

sorry!
that makes one, Mimi
Happy snow everyone
Righty-o, Jeff! Thanks!
sorry
must be the snow worry here on LI!!
I'll be 2 the, hego!
Are all you easterners braced for the blizzard? Sounds really bad.
Well, best of luck on that diet, Mimi. I wish you much success. I'd be chewing the upholstery after day one.
((mimi))
hi Crossy
((crossy))!!!!!
howdy, hego
hi folks
be careful with that diet, mimi. 500 cal/day sounds pretty extreme!
hi Welki
Mimi-my wife went from 210 to 105 lbs over the course of about 3 years and has kept it off so it can be done, just not easily
Mimi, are you sure with all of your health problems that this is the right diet for you?
There are also shots once a week with extra nutrients and a nutrient supplement.
the maintenance is hard
Jeff, she did not use this kind of diet.
If I start feeling bad, I'll quit. But my cardiologist cleared it and that's really the only health issue I have. I appreciate the concern, though.
I am lazy. I do not do starvation diets, i just add more exercise till the weight comes off on its own
The fact that she took 3 years is what makes it successful.
She changed her lifestyle.
Crossy, that's the smart way.
Right now I'm just hoping I can stay up all day today for the first time in 3 weeks!
good luck Mimi
3 hours of snowshoeing or hiking and the pounds just melt off!:)
I would be exercising several times a day if I could but can't do so with this weight...too hard on my heart.
I am glad you are felling a bit better, mimi
Take walks Mimi. Great for your heart.
Sorry Mimi. You have mentioned thyroid problems and hormone imbalance, so I assumed it was more than your heart.
OK--gotta catch up on emails. When I looked after 2 weeks I had 1198!!! Just deleted everything...if there's something important they can get back to me! Good to see everyone and take care in the storm. Hugs all around.
Wish Scrabs was here for this.
Turns out the thyroid is fine and my other hormones came back as fine, too. Cannot believe these old ovaries are still producing!
tc ((Mimi))
I don't know, call me crazy, but eat less and exercise more always seems to work if I want to lose weight.
Keep chasing those men, Molly!
You are one bottle short in your survival kit. One must always have a spare, just in case.
Everybody wants easy answers.
there you go, Judi!
Once I start losing I can increase exercise and will do so. I was trying that before and couldn't lose. Just doing small things like walking and going up and down the stairs but I wasn't able to do enough.
I shall root for you Mimi!
Thanks, crossy....you're the best!
Bye again, all.
I tried eat less, exercise more until I was totally consumed by it. Would lose a couple of pounds in a month.
I should get back to work as well. later all!...poink!
couple of pounds a month is progress, Bea.
The dr. finally listened to what I was saying. Turned out I was insulin resistant. Started taking meds for that and the pounds started falling of.
aha!
It was progress, but not for the amount and type of exercise I was doing.
Good for you Bea. Doctors seldom really listen to what you are saying. I'm glad you drove the point home.
Glad you found an answer.
Me too!
:)
Anyone seeing snow yet?
lots
Snowing like gangbusters here in Delaware.
We've had steady light snow all day. North of here is getting it worse.
and guess where I live.
North of Molly?
uh huh
I think we're only supposed to get 8-10 inches. But here that might as well be 2 feet. Doom, panic and closings will befall us by this afternoon.
18 to 24
Time for lunch! *POOF*
me too!
Snowing heavily here too.
I love my weather guy. He does a "bread-o-meter" (how much panic bread will be bought) and carmaggedon (how backed up the traffic will be) when we have major snow storms.
I would even get into my car today to go to the sstore. We got everything yesterday and the snow blower is all powered up.
*wouldn't
Back to the sewing machine...bzzz
Oh Bich, you're actually using the snow blower now? : D
Now that Mr. Bich is retired he can do that. I'll find other things to do.
t
Good for you Bich. Keep him busy and out of your way. : D
I'm planning on that. But I have to show that I've done real work in the house.
Why? Do you get graded on that?
There's always the "I do more around here than you do"
Oh no, too bad.
I'll have to do something very redeeming
I'm sure you do plenty of redeeming things.
I think I do.
*looks at piles of coupons at Bichon's house*
It's unfortunate when your effort is not appreciated.
I don't think they are unappreciated, it's just never enough. I don't pay that much attention to it.
<---knows about the "it's never enough rule"
Better off not paying attention to it. Who needs to feel like what they do is never enough?
help with the ra8 pls
It's not really a big deal to me.

I just came back..snowing and blowing here. Went to the supermarket. Everyone was calm and pleasant. We expect 12-18 inches. Oy.
Glad you checked in Annie. And glad you are stocked up and home, safe and warm.
Thanks so much, Molly. You stay safe too.
Oh we're good here. Turned out to just be "conversational" snow. That i can take.
Im used to this kind of weather in NY. Bobby should be home soon.
Good. Nice to have your loved ones in, out of the storm.
no storms out here
ruru, I love your icon
Playing Babble by the pool, Ru?
too cool for the pool today unfortunately
Aw, poor baby. *giggle*
:D annie.. there are some really funny ones.. i'm posting another later.. that is really hysterical
I'm delusional about this Superbowl. I keep trying to figure out a way that both teams will lose. My dislike for New England and Seattle knows no bounds.
<--hoping for a tie
Can there be a tie in the Superbowl? If so I am going to light candles and start saying novenas.
<----does not like this grid.
M's and b's are never good news.
No, Molly no ties. They will play till they drop.
February 3, 2015...headline...well, the New England Patriots and The Seattle Seagirls are still playing and so far, no winner. New England keeps trying to deflate the footballs, but keeps getting caught.
lolol!!!
that's new England flatriots
Rumor has it that the fifth string (children of all the players) will be called in soon.
:D
Love it!
Lunch!
Ru, make note of that please.
189 left, be back la5
*duly noted* and she just ate a little while ago too
Darn, we are going to miss all that lovely snow our eastern friends are about to get;( We are only due for a few inches of fresh powder at best;(
Oh no! Maybe she should go on the HCG diet.
HCG diet?

I'm pulling my hair out over the b's
Annie, how have you prepared for the blizzard?
Bichon will be ba 4.
was that a hint hego?
could be.
I think people just enjoy talking in grid speak
if you don't have it yet.
Sure, Molly, I do it even when I'm not here.
I don't know what you mean hego
bichon, I went out earlier and shopped. It is snowing very heavily here and blowing.
Pulling your hair out. Just a jole.
joke
We've had a break from the light snow earlier. Now it's coming down again. Just got a warning on my phone from the city
bichon, are you prepared for the blizzard?
and hego too.
WARNING! WARNING! BUY ALL THE BREAD, MILK AND TOILET PAPER YOU CAN FIND AND RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!
You forgot diapers!
and liquor
That really is important!
diapers for me, not yet
The city does not take liquor and diapers into account.
My biggest problem with the blizzard is having cleared space for the fluffs to eliminate
I was told earlier that my one bottle of Jameson wasn't enough. It's plenty for me since I don't do hard core drinking.
Well shit, Bich. : D
Molly-we have the NY Post here so we never need extra toilet paper lol
just showed up for the first time today, ugh I hate these huge boards
lol Jeff!
Finally through the Bs!
We have a video of our driveway after we had 3 feet of snow. The street hadn't been plowed. The fluffs were running around joyfully
Yay1 for Bea!!
You all make me want to run to the grocery store even though we are not expecting a storm.
It's madness here Bea.
I love it when you throw a sno0wball for a dog, they run in the right direction then get totally confused!!
:)
Do you ever have blizzards in Britain Deeha?
I might need to make a store run anyway. Stock up on stuf to deal with the stomach virus that I think is about to hit our house.
Not in our bit - the South East - we have had heavy snows with animal feed being taken to farms by helicopter but not for a few years. We didn't get any last year and so far none this year. Mind you we get a few centimeters and the country closes down!!
B's busted
VE7?
congrats!
Hello all. Update on being assaulted with the intent to kill by my ex last night/this morning: Went to the ER and I'm okay. He's arrested and charged with a lot of stuff. I got a restraining order and bail is set for $76,000. My throat still hurts (choked).
deeha, there's a video up (Dodo, I think) of a dog that has caught on enough to stand where the snowball will go, and try to catch it - occasionally successfully!
I'll look for that
red that is awful. Glad you are okay now:)
redshoes - all my sympathy.
Redshoes glad you're okay!
{{redshoes}}
Also - maybe talk to someone about more protection than a restraining order.
omg Red that is awful. Get well soon
is their a court date red?
No court date yet.
do everything you can to keep him in jail no one deserves to be treated like that
I can't have any firearms, but I may need to get a nice heavy baseball bat or something. Honestly, if I had a weapon last night, I'm pretty sure he would have gotten control of it and used it on me.
good thinking
no red then that would have meant you would let him win and he could just do these thingss all over again to someone else
I have to admit I fo watch a lot of these American real crime shows and your sentencing is a lot better than ours. We give people 'life' for murder and they are out on probation in 6 years.
that kind of thing has happened here in the US too deeha
good morning/afternoon

Yes, the people in the South of the USA panice when they get an inch of snow
Back from getting gas for the snow blower.
expecting 18-24 inches here tonight...
Is that a hedgedog, bichon?
hi Penq, here too.
hi hego...
a hedgehog is not a hedge trimmed in the shape of a pig, usually. LOL
charging the laptop....i will have all day tomorrow to work on the newsletter...
The people in the south of the US don't have plows and snow removal for their roads and highways. There is a good reason that they panic.
and they don't have a lot of experience driving in snow...
The people in the north of the US don't have the snow removal for their roads that the Canadians do. Hence the difference in how snow is perceived.
it's true. i was always terrified of snow and ice in Georgia because people were super dangerous on the roads even tho I can drive fine in snow
yes, it's always the other guys that you worry about...
i mean, sometimes it's me, but if it's legit dangerous i generally don't go out
same here...

i dread the shoveling out....especially with tendonitis in my forearm....ugh....

that may be a new record for me

My icon is a topiary of a Bichon Frise
My biggest problem with driving in snow is the 4 wheel drive idiots who think they can just whip right along.
i plan on staying home
agreed, molly...
that is just about always my plan for heavy snow
i always end up being the only one who can get anywhere when transit stops and roads aren't plowed, because i can bike if need be
but home is best
Heavy snow? Did they change the forecast? I was just out and it's looking pretty tame to me.
There is no way in hell I would ride a bike in the snow.
tonight is supposed to be 4 to 5 inches. . . anything i have to shovel is heavy to me . . .:D
give it another couple hours and it will get heavier, the majority of the snowfall will be after sundown
motorcycle???
I plan on shoveling tonight before I go to bed and AM as soon as I wake up
try to minimize the stress on my back
no, bicycle. mountain bikes can get around in it, but not skinny tires
good plan harry
can't do it tonight....snow won't arrive until i am sleeping....everything here will be closed tomorrow...

haha the woman in line after me yesterday looked like she bought out the entire paper products aisle
Uh, still...no way you would catch me on a bicycle in the snow. No, no, no siree.
shucks you can hardly catch me on a bicycle on a cool sunny day on flat land anymore
I was in line at the grocery store before one of our really big snowstorms in 2010. The woman I was talking to said, "if this line doesn't start moving, I'm going to get a six-pack of beer and we are going to drink it right here."
Kindred spirit
i went to the store this afternoon and it was very busy...
I didn't buy anything before the storm - but my wife went to the library yesterday and it was mobbed - people here stock up on books in case the power goes out :)
I just went out for gas for the snow blower and the first station I went to was out of regular unleaded
i needed bread....bought some sushi, eggs, an avocado...
yes, ours was busy too.even the russians buy bread and milk! and farmer cheese...
We've never lost power in a snow storm, but ice storms, yes
Ah, nice to know people still read real books.
that's one nice thing here, all the power lines in my area are underground, so we don't lose power for weather
Bich, you must not get that wet, heavy snow that takes down power lines.
my lines are underground, too, so I rarely lose power...
i have plenty to read on my shelves. . . i am going through them and reading them and then deciding if i am going to read them and again and if not I get rid of them. . . it has been fun. . .
this snow is supposed to be light here.....quite cold....
Our lines are underground.
In CT we'd lose power for days at a time. It was quite inconvenient
bich doesn't live in the DC area where all the lines go down all the time
If it's really bad wet snow, then the lines might go down elsewhere
*Planning to spend the night in the PB for all my use of line in the chat*
nbt:)
use of line?....did you say line?..... ;o)
good point molls. . . hows the Jack supply in there?. . . *looks in cabinet*
I'm the same way about books. I stopped using the library years ago and started collecting the books I will keep and read over and over again.
I keep the PB bar well stocked. No worries.
*whew* hate to have to go out to the liquor store for the PB
haha i am actually getting rid of books more than adding. . . but if i find a good book in a series I do fill out the series. . . i figure when i am on a fixed income i can read them all again. . .
I only need one bottle of Irish myself to get me through a snow storm and then some. Apparently some people here require a lot more liquor than that. Bless their livers.
hehe my liver and i are getting along just fine. . .
I got rid of all the superfluous books the last time I moved. That is when I decided to only keep the books that I consider "keepers". Good Will got lots of boxes of books. I like to donate them, so others may read.
same here...
285 to go. going to lie down for a bit...perhaps bbl

Bea, are you and I the only one who knows what that means? : D
Hi Z + two vowels + consonant : P
Maybe. That is a landing place in our house.
hi,all. they've downgraded out snow forecast, but it will still be brutal.
owl downgraded to what?
inches or feet?
6-10
how much do you have now?
h,,, we got about three the other day, not about an inch +
sounds like you got pretty lucky:)
there will be blizzard conditions, though, that is the problem.
ugghh
high winds right?
yes
will temps stay above freezing during the day or overnight?
no, we willbe getting way down for days.
ugghh that is not good
do you have enough eggs, milk, bread and cookies to last you until the weather gets better?:)
yes. i could feed a family of four for days. :)
Forget about that, is you liquor cabinet stocked?
owl that is awesome!
i would not want to be stuck in a house in a storm passed out
molly: i've run out of chocolate liquer to go with the vanilla vodka. i may have to resort t housework,
Well, you don't drink so much that you pass out
liquer and vodka will do the trick .. well owl the housework might get done but not quite the way you wanted it to lol
they are really not yet sure about this storm, it had yet to develop off the coast
fan: jsu tgettting it done is a win.
hmm interesting storm
i think i will make chili for theneighbor wh till dig me out.
ah that is my hubby's job
Nice to have a husband who cooks for you
it is easy if you train them right.
he has to i dont cook at all but i can use the microwave
my husband has worked as a cook at different places
Seems this grid is endless...
it is slower than yesterday's . but i am stilllistless and clueless. stopping soon to figure out dinner.
Whoo boy! All you have to do is say "I don't cook, but I can use the microwave?" All those years I was doing it all wrong.
lol.
i think there is a bit more to it.
No, it sounds simple to me.
nap time.
That makes me sleepy
back again
Nasty, norrible, freezing, sleety stuff out there. Glad to be home.
Or horrible
hi all :-)
Did you have to drive in it, Molly?
reading the chat, I'm glad to be here!
Yes Bea, not fun.
Glad you are home safe.
Thanks, me too
glad youre home, Molly. Im taking a break.
glad you made it safely molly..for a change we arent on this storms radar..
Mr. Bich home, daughter home at her house. All is well with the world
Glad to hear your loved ones are accounted for, Bich. Ivesy, glad to hear you are not living in snow hell.
how big an area is your storm covering?
hello, all.
New York to Maine
hi phand -- think I'm invisible ;-)
Hi to all babblers! Hope you are all home safe and sound!
how are you, nan?
huge then -- think the weather is pretty bad in Montreal as well
Nan, how did you get invisible in one minute?
getting more moblity every day, ty, phand
that's great.
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers!Way to go
Hi Min, are you getting snow?
yes it was only 1 or 2 minutes -- just seemed like a long time
(Everyone pay attention to Nan) : D
It started at 8:00 this morning as light flurries but I think it's heavier now.No school for me tomorrow so that's nice
Pajama day for Min : )
signed in 18 minutes ago
Actually, I had pajama day yesterday so not sure I should have another one so soon. However,I do love my PJ days!
two of my last 3 days have been pajama days. but then, I haven't been feeling well...
sorry to hear that phand -- a touch of the flu?
Phan, you are still sick??
not sure really. No fever, no vomitting, no diarrhea. But have waves of nausea and pain in my stomach area.
Wishing you a speedy recovery phandmd!
have relatives in new jers. near new york city and conn... they are all in line of snow...sorry for them..happy not us.. lol
saltines and decarbonated ginger ale -- and maybe a zantac or some other antacid?
it's been snowing all day here and all we have is about 1/2 inch!
Wonder if there's a li4/4 to get ito the Penalty Box ivesy3
Hasn't it been weeks for you being sick, Phan?
*into
pretty much, Molly. I got sick right after Christmas. Was sick most of the next 2 weeks, was better enough to travel to Mexico from the 15th-20th. This started on Saturday
oopsie any food in there?
Guess you can't blame it on the water in Mexico. How was your trip to Mexico phandmd? That's cool you we4/8 there
Sick...better for Mexico...sick again. Sounds like a good strategy.
ivesy3, think MollyL put some Jameson in the Penalty Box
No can't blame it on the water. We went to Cabo, to an all inclusive resort. It was nice, but would have preferred the weather to be slightly warmer... And the food to be better. Snorkeling was really nice though, saw lots of different fish.
also got to see some whales.
sounds like a good reason to be there lol
I guess, Molly, except, I would prefer to feel better than I do. Working when not well, is not fun.
I wonder if you saw my hubby in Mexico (referring to the whales)
haha, Min.
de 7, please
get off the locomotive, nan
duh - ty, bea
Well Phan, it seemed like a nice break between sick.
yw
true story.
es 7, please?
es + most of not false + Mr Gore
ty molly - couldn't find my way around that one
Hi all :)
hi liz
hi all 50 left here
back to try and finish off my last 64
Hi Peri and Nan
hi peri
I am glad that my sister, bro in law and I are retired.
Gives you time to do grids and not face snow???
batting down the hatches
??
I miss the money but not driving in bad weather. I worked in hospitals that never closed.
Keep safe all of you - I've read about the impending snow storm.
I will face the snow tomorrow. hopefully the forecast is wrong.
I really don't miss driving to work in the snow. I may whinge about the humidity we sometimes have, but I'll take that any day over snow, frost and fog.
I have been through worst storms in my life
we are expecting 18-24 inches here....i won't be going anywhere!
It was always the idiots that freaked me, driving in snow - including one guy avoiding the traffic jam by driving on pavement - regardless of pedestrians!
6-10 inches predicted here
Hello all. Just starting and finding 468 words somewhat daunting.
not a bad grid
scariest of all --- the ones who drive on bad roads still holding cell phones to their ears
Hi Stidg. I found the grid easy up until about 70 words from the end.
Very true, Nan - I hate that even in good driving conditions!
hi stidg
they are just idiots, nan
Wow, I shall be typing my little fingers to the bone, in that case. Glad to hear there are some apparant words! The monkeys are always tedious.
Too many of them around - driving idiots that is - especially here. Amazed by really poor standard of driving.
I'd rather see a phone than someone doing their lipstick
it is bad enough that they talk on their phone in good weather. it is actually against the law to do that here. I hate driving in front of one of these morons.
i would rather see someone with both hands on the wheel... ;o)
Lipstick only takes one hands. Mobile phones two. One to hold the phone, one for the hand gestures!
It's against the law here too and in the UK.
apparently liz hasn't seen transvestite road rage in SF like I have
better to be in front, than behind
Long time since I was in SF :(
I'd rather be behind.. but that's just me :D
Except when they drive much to close to you, Nan. I think I'd rather be behind and hope no one cuts in in front of me.
*too (a pet hate of mine getting that wrong)
*Cues up Back Door Man for Ru
LOL
Really? ba 7/40 is one word?
Not the hairless one!
you mean folically challenged liz?
Not that one! The one that looks after drinks - really, one word?
folically challenged is good. I'll have to remember that.
It's what you do when you take care of that spot
As in, "I can ba7 for you tonight"
I knew what it meant. Just thought of it reversed and 2 words.
<---Spent a lot of time t-ing B
As the icon shows ...
common enough word here...
No offence to Jameson but I'd prefer Scotch - single malt.
16 S words left
Yes Pen, it must be that US vs Brit difference
I guess I've heard of it but like I said, as 2 words. Anyway, I've got the word and have finally finished the bs.
bbs to finish
English people generally don't care for anything Irish
Not true - at least not here! Just prefer the drink!
Next time we go across the world, I want to go to Ireland, particularly the SW coast.
mmm - irish coffee, bushmill's irish cream....
Now I could go for that but again, would probably prefer brandy in the coffee ;)
However, when I go to Ireland, I'll drink jamesons and Irish coffee :)
ever tried it with brown sugar, drambui, single malt and cream
de 6/21 pls - before the getting off the transport one.
No, that sounds lovely.
heat the brown sugar, a dab of butter, drambui and scotch just til the first wisp of steam appears, add coffee and whipped cream on top
Found it.
Thanks, nan. That really sounds good.
Hubby drooling too.
yw
always good on a snowy winter evening
Hmm! Will either have to suffer in the heat, or to wait until a trip to the UK / Ireland.
or crank up the a/c
Or go to Melbourne!
Think crank up the a/c sounds the best idea in the short term.
Can't believe how many plurals I've missed - and I thought I'd be so aware of them.
I think I'm losing my grip on this game :D
Not you, Ru. Never.
can't believe all the words I thought I'd entered but hadn't
Popping in to see if I can get a few more. Three weeks of being down with the flu...just awful. At one point the only thing I was worried about is that I WOULDN'T die.
Hi Mimi - long time no see. So sorry to read you've been so unwell. hope you're feeling much, much better really soon
Not even a morsel of food for two weeks...just liquids so I wouldn't dehydrate. Got a jump start on the weight loss campaign, I guess.
Not a good way to lose weight :(
hi mimi
((Liz)) Today was my first day totally up and at computer. Planning to work tomorrow. I've lost 5 weeks of pay since my doc was on vacation for two weeks and then I had this terrible flu for 3..ouch.
tm 6, please? - no way I'm going to monkey that one
Hi, nan! Your drink concoction sounds heavenly...will definitely be trying that!
Hi, Mimi. Flu can leave you depressed as well. Folk say oh I have had flu but you know when you have it.
No idea how to clue it. It's a curly one. I remembered it from more words. There are only 2 tm's in more words.
Oh Mimi - that's a long time to be off work and a lot of pay to miss out on.
1tsp brown sugar, 1/2 tsp butter, 1/2 oz drambuie, 1 oz single malt
tm 6 - tm + plural of letter before t
Hi, jaxx! I spoke with a couple of doctors who said this was a particularly virulent strain and was taking people 3 weeks to get over it and nothing can be done but treat the symptoms. Luckily, I already had antibiotics in preparation for the oral surgery I had to cancel so I took those so as not to get a secondary infection like pneumonia.
Yes it is, Liz, but fortunately I have a bit of a buffer if I need it. Just put that money aside and forget it's there.
What oral surgery do you need?
ty liz
yw
Always good to have a buffer
MANY extractions and then dentures....not looking forward to it. Had an accident a couple of years ago where I toppled down a flight of stairs, bounced on my face on the way down and then landed on marble at the bottom....lucky I'm alive.
Still, work or no work take it very easy. Listen to your body. I have been there and had pneumonia too. It takes quite a while to feel yourself again.
Good advice from Jaxx :)
You are one tough lady. I am surprised the flu virus could get a hold. lol
That's why I "tested" myself today by staying up and at the computer. Luckily, I work at home so I can spread the work out if I need to.
Yep, Jaxx...I'm one tough old broad all right! Almost died 3 times already. I figure God does not want me up there criticizing the way he's running things...it's like "Leave her down there, I don't need the grief." So I figure I'll be real freakin' old before I die!
(( Mimi )).. so sorry to hear that you have been ill ! Wishing you a quick recovery, sounds like you are on the mend.. my internet is so bad, so I haven't been chatting.. it goes on and off and it is hard to finish a grid much less chat.. hope you get this message!
Just don't try to get there too soon!
Nice to see you jaxx, aloyisius and mimi as well as liz on the chog.
slated
((Aloy)) I wasn't on internet for over two weeks. When I checked my email finally I had 1198 emails! Just scanned and mostly deleted the rest.
Just chatted with stidmama on her way home from work She does love it so.
My usual free word. Enjoy
So good that she's happy in her job.
A non word - I mistyped
OK--been up all day and not seeing any more words, so going to lie down and rest in prep for tomorrow. Good to see everyone...I've missed you all!!! Hugs.
well, work really is (in my mind) a vocation.
As long as you love what you're doing. That's the way it should be.
Take care of yourself, mimi. G'night
Sleep well Mimi and feel better soon.
Bye mimi!
bye mimi
Off for a walk. Back later for my last 15 words. Enjoy your evenings and good luck with the grid.

hi...
pen, are you included in the storm?
yes, 18-24 in....
it will be interesting to see what we actually get after all the cautionary planning and warnings
a friend posted a photo of her local whole foods with the shelves literally empty of all produce
i've never seen such a thing
well unless one expects flooding, snow is usuallyl taken care of in a day or so....
exacrly
i would worry more about the cold....i could eat less for a few days, lol....
ne 6/21?
past tense of bird bed?
you nj/ny & ne folks seem to be in fr it. awaiting updated forecast
dang....i know i entered that earlier today...
right now it's windy but nothing falling. lots of plow traffic
Good night to all. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you are all safe, and sound.
gnight gmere
g'nite...
Good evening Babblers
nj has mandated that no one be on its roads after 11PM. we have, thankfully, been downgraded, but then again, the storm has not yet intensified
i am done!....amen....
Here in Boston, they are closing the roads at midnight.
here too. deblasio made a big deal of the fact that delivery bicycles are not emergency vehicles, and everyone should take care of things before then
wtg penq
hooray pen!
But so far the snow is not too bad.
The governor just said, "When you wake up in the morning, it will look like you are in a blizzard."
that sounds fair. i guess we are in the calm before the storm
the wind today has been pretty intense
have you guys gotten the cool star shaped snowflakes?
I haven't gone out to look.
ty ty...
i don't think it'sdoindanthing yet
They are calling for gusts of over 67 mph on Nantucket
Glad I am not there.
http://tinyurl.com/m9sycxu
i think it was mainly a new york area thing, it was cool to walk out of work and see what looked like star-shaped confetti on the ground. like cupcake sprinkles!
we are expecting gusts to 50 mph or more also...
stay warm and safe, all. good night
you too TO
good night TO
Fireworks
congrats wht
congrats!
Does anyone need clues before I go?
The weathermen here are getting all excited because the heavy snow is just starting to get here.
Good night all. Stay warm and dry.

Hello pippingeek! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
... well there's 755 .... and that still leaves more that one hundred .. and I don't feel like listing that many ... ... oh well ... ... a good night for everyone ... and luck to those who struggle on ...
hi min, good night doseffing
i am feeling grid fatigue, but it's not like i have to rest up for work tomorrow, what with the storm
I gave up on grid with 220 words left, but story is in profile
very nice, ty min!
down to 71, using a list, but plugging away
I only had trouble with the words I could not find ... maybe 300 ...
o-o, those are usually the ones that get me too!
can't believe it -- rafa was doing so great and now he's losing to
berdych 6-2, 6-0 :-(
