Clues are up
Thanka, Lickety!
natal
babying the clues along erda?
Hey ru. :)
ended up in the wrong box...
hey neil!
How are you?
Sorry Erda... hi to you too! :)
And how are you?
well.. you really don't want to ask
Ohh no... why?
took a big fall today and wrecked my shoulders and back and stuff
Ohh man. :( Sorry to hear that! Think you should be checked out?
That's all you needed. :(
maybe tomorrow if i'm still in bad shape
Please? Think it's the best idea.
do you have epsom salts, ruru? Soaking in a tub of salts as soon as possible really helps to ease the muscles which want to cramp up and put your back out.
how are you guys doing?
are you done taking classes?
I don't have a tub here bugs..
Yep... all finished. We're doing well thanks. :)
oh too bad. My boy who played football swore by epsom salt baths after a game/
Yeah... that's a good suggestion. Too bad you don't have a bathtub.
how about a massage tomorrow?
probably a hot hot shower tonight
That might hurt with bruising? Better to have a doctor check it all out first.
hot showers are always good but you have jarred bones too.
I feel like such an idiot for falling too
No! Don't be silly. Everyone falls now and then.
Accidents happen... everyone trips sometimes.
I sure fell... at least it was for the right girl. :)
I wish
fell backwards on some cement stairs
I know you you feel ruru. It is embarrassing. When I broke my leg I had to phone 911 and say the dreaded lines, "I have fallen and I can't get up"
oh...lol bugs.. that makes me laugh and it hurts
I did that once too. Had the most purple bottom for weeks@
Ouch, ru. :( Well I've done that kind of thing too.
*where's the friggin' clapper when you need one :D
Ouch, Bugsaw. :(
I'll be careful not to make you laugh then, ru.
well off to try to make my bed.. and take some anti-inflamatories
Tonight, anyway.
nice to have you pop in neil.. take care you guys
Ahh. Good plan!
And I'm off too... take it easy! See the doctor tomorrow... ok?
shower first before bed ruru just to loosen the muscles. Antiinflamatories are a good idea but you will be sore tomorrow.
Yep.. nice to see you too. :) And will do!
Good night too Neil
And to you, Bugs. Take care, both of you. :)
tough grid
sure is mkg
hi everyone
hi flosey. I hope you are well
+
yes thanks Bugsy, and you?
I am well. Enjoying the sunshine when it comes
hi Erda
well, is isn't like my Ontario relatives are experiencing
I feel so badly for the people back east. The snow just will not end and while I like snow, ice is dreadful.
sure is, especially those who have to drive to work
cooee and g'day from me
hi Rose
hi flosey
hey ya bugs
hello grannyrose. I am so sorry that I am fading and wont be here long. It is always good to chat with you
np's bugs. you just fade away, sweetie. we will catch up another time. ;-)
I hope you are well too rose.
thanx dear....pain doc's first appointment this week. i hope he can help me.
hi all -- inspector linley made me late!
oh I hope so too. Now that I have experience how debilitating chronic pain can be, I am so much more empathetic. It just sucks life out of you.
Hi nan. I am still watching it. I love the PVR
i know bugs. i still have people say well why don't you just do such-and-such. they don't get you cannot 'do' anything.

G'night, enjoy the art exhibit - sounds fun!

good morning all
oh wow, such a tight grid!
{{hugs}} my dear sprite
Yucky grid!
awww liz girl...{{hugs}} it's not too bad, dear
Humph!
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend :)
Just sent you a pic!
col....just slow down sweetie.
*hugs Liz* Hi there! Am loving your pics.
Lol
Hugs to you both
love the pic...
Shame my tiger wasn't cl!
Clear.
oh that is awesome! Lol!
Clawed my way to half way!
hat off to you. I have 20 words in and I feel like pulling hairs from a frog.
Agreed!
at lunch today, a tomato spat out it's contents all over my t-shirt...and here i was hoping to wear it tomorrow. ugh
ugh, nasty stains, that
Hate it when tomatoes attack
,
the attack of the monster tomatoes, part one
(they are here to take over the world)
cherry tomato...perhaps it sensed my antipathy??
Should've used your fingers!
hate cherry toms...give me romas or vine toms anytime...* giggle*
isn't it weird? i can taste the difference..
yeah, that can happen when you first spear it on your fork and then progress to say: "Gotcha, you little red rotten son of a shrub... you can kiss your red ass goodbye!"
Hubby now watching Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!
roflollllll Liz!
I love cherry tomatoes. So much sweeter than other ones.
roflol...poor peter...nothing better to watch?
They were better in England - not so sweet in Aus.
sprite...yuck....yuck...yuck.
ah... here they are about the best tasting there are.
He's gone back to playing photos.
we have mini romas...they are so nice...and the vine toms have such a lovely rich flavour..
hehehe it is so much fun to 'feel' like he is part of our convo as well
I think vine toms are what we call trostomaten. They are very good too.
Yup, in Aus, those are the best.
i think...the grosse lisse...ugh...full of water, and very little flavour...once you have vine-ripened toms...you cannot eat anything else.
don and i are known to leave a tom on the window sill until almost too late. fresh white bread, tomato and salt...to die for.
We tried to grow tomatoes but the dreaded fruit fly gets them in QLD
will try again this year. Have the seeds already, and my veggie garden boxes-on-tables are ready to receive the seeds.
our new gardener is going to set up our above ground vegetable patch. i am so looking forward to it.
We're thinking about a small greenhouse - to beat the fruit fly.
that is a wish of mine, a small greenhouse
good idea liz
nice, rose! That is the same thing I have, I think. So you can tend to it without having to bend over or sit down.
sprite, do you have the garden area for that?
They're really good. I've seen them in bunnings
exactly so sprite
and master's, liz
yeah, I think so, rose, in the front garden. The back garden has been taken over by husband... canoes at one side, a huge sea container at the other. And my veggie garden patches.
Yes, there too
or we could move the veggie patches to the front and put up the glasshouse in the back.
col...don's sister and her now defunct hubby, planted veges among the flowers etc in the front garden. every morning they got up to another lot of veges missing.
It was the gnomes!
yeah that is what I am afraid of as well, lol!
sprite, at least the greenhouse would be lockable..
dem gnomes. Greedy little so-and-sos.
lol, liz...
indeed, rose. And the front gets morning sun. Back doesn't get sun till around noon.
morning sun is good..sprite
yeah, so I guess that if we find the resources to fulfill my wish, it will be in the front.
halfway. Jeezzz. Long time since we had a grid this tight.
Made it to 42
what's the matta with you two?? for once i breezed thru...c'mon gals....put the pedal to the metal...
Really struggling
good job, Liz
you just have superior brainwaves, rose
ca6 andta6 were the only ones i had never heard of before.
those are my missing 6s then.
oh for goodness sake, sprite. you and liz are way out in front of me.
not today we aren't
Have ta 6 and eom6 - missing the others.
Rubbish Rose.
6's are ca, eo, ra and ta
um no, I have the ta. Ca and one other then.
right, ra it is.
Same as me then.
it is not rataxl. Yes, I tried that. Does that tell you something?
yes, same as you, Liz. At least we suck together, lolol
Nor ratlia
not to be discriminitiary then
lol indeed
discriminitiary... wow!
not sure how the di is spelled
OK so it could be that!
ra6, think arpethide
rose, any compounds there?
apartheid
I have never even heard of arpethide. *off to google*
nooo, check out my revised spelling
roflollll oh! Right. Our contribution to the world language.
ah of course. Thanks rose
lol, rather naughtily....it is pouring rain here
it is south african, but that is a lot like dutch. Apart = separated from. -heid is a suffix that means the state of, the situation of, being
a lot like the english -ness suffix
i asked don to remind me this morning, which is when my muscle spasms are at their lowest, to cut his hair. time he finally asked me to cut his hair?? just before 5pm....oh man!!
OK enough for now. 45 down. Time for a break. Hugs
tell him to forget it till tomorrow, lol.
good job, Liz!
and *hugs* for the both of you
ah and there is the ca. Finally. 32 left to find
oh rose, I found something special. A website that allows parents of chronically or fatally ill children to put up their story and ask for postcards. Just to brighten their days. Once in a while I pick one and send an envelope with a lovely card and some small gifts.
sprite, please send me the link. xoxox
will do!
okay, post before last lost in the blackout. he leaves before i am up tomorrow ...the bike ride?? remember?? back spasms or not...i had to cut his hair.
i am sooo anti this ride...i don't think he understands just how much.
nt the prupose of it...just the fact i cannot join in...
you don't have to do anything. Tell him no. Too late, very sorry.
rose... my darling friend... can you try and turn it around in your mind? Make it a gift to Don? Something you can give him to enjoy?
*shrug* too late, sprite. i have already done it...with lots of whimpering i might add.
*reminds self to talk with rose about limits and boundaries and the power to say no*
*giggle*
sprite, i hear you...but if he calls and has everyone yell hello rose ito the phone, i will probably die. it really hurts me.
27 left. Am having a ball here, such a tough little grid.
* into *
ok, so protect yourself from that, rose. Either tell him not to call, or don't pick up the phone. You don't have to open yourself to unnecessary hurt.
already thought that out, sprite. will tell him as he leaves tomorrow morning.
sprite, daling, apart from those 2 6's, every word you have seen before...i promise you.
very good, sweetie. Just let him know how hard it is for you to have to stay home, and that you want him to enjoy himself, but that a phonecall will only add to your hurt.
ugh....darling
sprite...that is exactly what i have planned to say to him.
that might be true, rose. But I am pretty sure they are looping and twisting and doing 4 saltos mortale. Each.
do you have both spellings of al4/7?
yeah, those I have
oh wait. No. That is ax4/9 x 2. Yes, I do now, thanks.
and the old-fashioned spelling of la5/12?
yes

Hope you are enjoyinh your wine on a fine evening :-)

thanx zooz. absolutely.
I got the result back,Rose, for the tightening of the throat and thick saliva. It is what he called globus spasm.
zooz...h'okay...have read up on your diagnosis. are you happy with it??
and an your doc help you with it??
No not at all, Rose.As there is no cure. only muscle relaxants like valium will help short term. But he will not prescribe me any as of the time I OD on them when i was having my funny turn years a go. So I seem to be stuck with it.
*can*
Eating helps as the the throat muscle is doing its job and helps to relax it.But I can't eat 24/7 lol
oh, for goodness sake, zooz. tell your doc to wake up to himself.
Cricopharyngeal spasm is its long name.
I know that is what I felt like telling him. There must be something that can be done.
But i have checked online and there does not seem to be anything long term to fix this condition.
Do you know of anything?
Thank you for listening though, Rose :-)
zooz.. please go to vitacost site...order magnesium malate...
zooz...please try a month of magnesium malate
OKay what strength should I be looking at.As they have it on amazon.co.uk?
4 weeks of magnesium malate will open to you a release from muscle cramps.
Vitacost is selling through amazon.co.uk..how cool is that!
there are 400mg;1025mg;625mg etc
zooz, i use magnesium tablets....180 tablet in the bottle
OK I have ordered a bottle with 180 in the bottle £11 hope it works!
I am off to do sudoku.Have a sweet sleep, Rose :-)

hi judi, welki....i saw Nimoy speak once....
clue for the ta6 anybody?
Don't have it yet, Dan.
Cool, Pen. He was a really interesting guy. Had a great smile.
ta6 starts with April 15th stuff and ends with not you, vowel in the middle
Ty, Molls.
yes, and he was a good speaker....
tx Moll & all cluers - that's firewords
congrats!
congrats, dan!
So going to miss one of my childhood heros. May he rest in peace.
just read a story about how Nimoy almost didn't make Wrath of Khan. "fascinating" http://tinyurl.com/nqa9xku
Yep. He said he'd only do it if they'd kill off Spock. Uh oh. Spoiler for whoever hasn't seen that movie.
Is it a still a spoiler if the movie is 33 years old? : D
Imagine there are some folks who haven't seen it. Can't imagine who. But, we're not all Trekkies.
The last thing I saw Leonard Nimoy in was the TV series "Fringe". He was so good in the role of William Bell and it was a lot of fun seeing Anna Torv try and "be" him when his consciousness invaded hers.
Missing him.
I wasn't a Star Trek person and I saw that movie. Peer pressure.
Loved "Fringe". Hubby and I noticed that he seemed a little out of breath in his scenes. I guess that was the COPD showing.
Fringe is a fun series to watch again. It's available for free on Amazon Prime if anyone is a member.
My favorite character was Walter. I believe he won some Emmys for that role. What a fun character that must have been to play.
I love John Noble. I have enjoyed seeing him on Sleepy Hollow. I hope he will be back.
Clue for Ma5, please?
Nm. just got it.
Good. Now you don't have to sleep with the fishes.
Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in.
But the pay is good. I'm a good earner.
Four words left. Time for breakfast. *POOF*

hi
i am heading out...good luck with the grid!
77? Is it easy or hard?
very easy
hi Jane, I have 43 words, nbs but am missing the bottom right e, took me about 10-15 minutes. Now I am off doing something else and will come back to it
the bandaid on my finger is adding to the challenge today!
what'd you do Jane?
puncture from the end of a string while I was purtting my harp in the case. stoopid...
what are the stats on the bottom A please?
al4/4
Ouch. Which string? Large gauge or small? Hurts either way, but I can just imagine the hole a larger gauged string could leave!
one of the bass wires. they have a really sharp core. I've been doing this for 40+ years and every now and then i let my guard down.
thanks for the al
Everyone lets their guard down sometimes. I just started playing my guitar again and the strings need to be changed, but I stink at it. Lucky if I don't poke my eye out just pulling the strings out of the box. :)
any clue for the la5 ?
Ouwachita, la5 sounds like the wood shaping tool
thanks a lot

One of Moses' many talents
Hiyas, kids. Back to finish the last four.

Hello. With 77 words, I think I can finish this grid.
(famous last words)
Seems like there is always someone who says "this grid has teeth" no matter how simple it is. But hey, to each their own and all that.
maybe grids with teeth need magnesium?
yeah.
Magnesium is the new crack
If it hurts you, magnesium will fix it. Whee!
I'm sure it helps with leg cramps and such.. but it can't be a cure all can it?
What are you two talking about?
nuthin'
Magnesium, Zoom.
I know you are talking about magnesium. But what are you getting at?
I'm just joking with Molly .. that's all zooz
hello....
hewoo penquis
hey ru...
Hewoo? Are you channeling Elmer Fudd?
huhuhuhuhuh
Kwill da wabbit, it's a nasty habit...
small grids promote weird conversation here....
weird?
if you want to talk about weird. you have the wrong time zone
wrong time zone??
Oops, time to go back to dogs, cats and the weather.
no dog, no cat, tired of the weather....i was not complaining, just making an observation...
Or lots of clue requests and clue answers .
Al5,10 please! It's my last one....

Nvm. Found it
Congrats ace
Can I get stats for the A on the bottom row please?
al 4/7
al 4/4, i think...
or maybe al4/4 not sure which one
Thank you, needed both of those :)
Once I get the puzzle on its way, I'm never certain which words come from where.
It was probably the ah 4/6 now that I look at my words.
it's al 4/4....because it's the only way that that word can be spelled....from that a....
The al4/4 greyed it out
:-)

Mrs and I are watching that Auzzie womens prison series on netflix atm. the name of it escapes me.
Westford i think.
sweet dreams doren
Mrs. likes it, but to me it seems more of a soap opera behind bars. I think i prefer prison break better.
yay penquis, too! Tom is going to make supper ... wishing I had the kind of noodles I like. I think I'll wander into the kitchen and see what is there.
Sheila's in bars?

girls
gives new meaning to bobbing for a gobby I gues
time to bob-along
whoa! lends a different perspective to the phrase "gob smacked"
hi welki...
or gobsmacked - probably one word
hey pen
oops, didn't notice the last post was at 7:54
pen, are you on the ocean or are you bayside?
i live on the coast....not directly on the water....my town has a deep water harbor...
it's open ocean out there....in the pic....
i've only been to two areas in maine - bucksport and bar harbor (and side trips from there into the park area)
<--- very jealous of you, pen, living by the sea
by road i am about an hour and a half from Bucksport...a little more from Bar Harbor....i am down the coast from those places....
there is something comforting about being by the sea....
i grew up near the sea, know how you feel
and i don't necessarily go to the beach all the time....but i do drive by the water whenever i go out....i am maybe an eighth of a mile as the crow flies from the water...
this is the best time of year to be by the ocean - it's wild and noisy (and pretty much deserted)
true....my brother lives across the street from the harbor....i have watched the ocean from his house....how the water changes color, how the clouds and fog move in and out....very interesting...
