I figure with all the cracks I make around here I was due for one back :D

we have had that happen before. Great car glass companies around here - they changed it in parking lot during work... pretty cool to watch
only you could get away with a remark like that, ruru.

Hi all. Hugs Rose
got to take the dog out.. be back in a little bit.
Bye Ru
{{hugs}} liz girl
Hope you've had a good day.
busy day liz. took don's car in to get a RWC as we have sold it to my stepgrandson. that was at 8:30am. then down to dealers to pick up our new car at 10:30am. just sitting quietly on my own at the present.don has gone to surgeon about his shoulder.no tv, no don....so peaceful
Sounds idyllic. And how's the new car?
And has Don been happier today? Should be with the new car!
it's a dream to drive. and don can't take his eyes or hands off it. i think i'm jealous.
LOL! It can't do what you can!
don't start me. his lockable steel cabinet arrived today for all his camera equipment. you kn4 that empty space i had?
I guess it's no more :(
it isn't empty anymore. and you should have heard him putting it together
So, Don's got the car. Don's got the cabinet. What've you got?
honestly, you would think the maker of the cabinet was out to get him. i ended up helping him would you believe?
And don't say peace and quiet, while he's out!
indigestion
I would believe! And I bet it went much more smoothly then.
lol
Think it's catalogue time for Rose - or a lovely pampering day or something.
as you well kn4, a happy husband = a happy wife
:)
Yiss - NZ person saying yes (apologies to any NZ people)
going out on friday with my friend, lunch, coffee, and op shopping. and he better have nowt to say about it.
Have a wonderful day - I'm sure you will.
ugh...he's home. bye bye happiness
Send him out to polish the car - it probably needs it, if he's been driving.
Still missing 4 x k - sigh!
i actually monkeyed one of mine and got 2
col, he said the car only got a little bit wet.
A little wet! So, he needs to polish off any water marks, let alone muddy splashes.
found a k - 3 missing now.
And 2!
do you have both k7's?
Have kn 7
Wouldn't even have tried that kn 7 if ARB hadn't suggested it.
ah ha. ke6, compound word, and it's plural
Thought it was a proper noun
Thanks, Rose. That's it!
OK - time to go. Friends coming here for dinner tonight. Hugs to you - and to sprite.
{{hugs}} liz girl. enjoy.xoxox
down to 85 and can't stay awake! sure hope that feeling lasts until I'm counting sheep
bb tomorrow
good morning all
*hugs* back at Liz
and back from collecting don's car. yes, i was driving the NEW car. {{hugs}} my dear sprite
awesome! Hi rose *hugs* my dear friend. Did you enjoy the drive? And did your body cooperate?
sprite, it's heaven on wheels. and not a twinge. so car is all ready for step-grandson to collect. it needed new tyres, new front brakes, and the reservoir for the automatic steering fluid had to be replaced. so not too bad, not as good as we hoped, but not too bad.
ks killed
did step-grandson finally decide?
yay sprite. i thought of you as i was playing before.
yup, he has decided. he's not going to get a better car than this for the money.
he does not realise how lucky he is
it is a good solid car. so long as he doesn't hoon in it, he will be as safe as he is in his own bed.
when will he come and pick it up?
not sure, we may have to deliver. oh dear, that means i have to drive the NEW car again...col
oh dear, how yuck. Ah well, it is in a good cause, right?
right!! in the cause of giving rose a sense of delight!!
best cause there is
showered etc etc - 15 minutes til I need to sort the fish out! Hi and hugs, Sprite and Rose - again.
http://www.toyota.com.au/corolla/range link to blue version
*hugs Liz* Hi there! How are you and husband doing?
We're very well thanks - and you and all of yours?
Very pretty, Rose.
the levin is the same colour as ours
we are all fine, except my love's knee which is inflamed. Seems to be subsiding though, at last.
How was your course last week?
May I please have a clue for he7-32? Thanks
Not from me, I'm afraid, Peach.
That's OK, Liz.
That's OK, Liz.
hi peach, sorry don't have it yet
he7/32, rudolf he4, german + b***, use one's teeth
my course was awesome, Liz. Inspirational and fun and interesting.
SPRITE, LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!!
That's ok, sprite.
thanks rose
That's ok, sprite.
Thanks, Rose
That's fantastic, sprite.
I am looking at you, darling... wazzup?
aaarrrggghh, you weren't supposed to see it
*giggles* Naughty rose
Thanks much, Rose.
* giggles *
I was looking at that car si4. Which blue version of which car?
look for the corolla ascent sport, that's our car. look at the levin, that's the colour
the grey or the rust colour levin?
the orange colour
you know it is gonna be a weird day when idiot is a phantom...
You know, I was thinking that - decided against writing it!
ok! I like the colour, very autumny. Congratz with the new arrival, rose! Baby shower time!
time to go and prepare the fish. Happy to have caught you both again - you too, Peach. Hugs.
bye Liz, enjoy your dinner *hugs* for you both
enjoy liz. xoxox
hm, stetson is a proper noun, apparently
yeah, i tried that one too
have you recovered a little from yesterday's shock?
yeah, i can live with it. mature age diabetes is usually diet/tablet controlled. i think i'm okay.
*hugs* Yes it is, and that is doable. But not fun to have. Good for you that you could integrate the news.
just not looking forward to the finger pricks each time some nurse wants to check my BSL. you wouldn't believe how many don't kn4 to prick on the side of the finger. they all go for the pad.
well, you've got your mouth with you. So tell them, or do it yourself. I bought one of those prick pens, they are perfect for the job.
i hear you...i hear you.
*grin* Emancipation of the patient!
is Don in a better mood?
*squirrel*
at the moment yes...this afternoon no. the steel cabinet he bought came as a flat pack. he had some difficulty putting it together. and then i stepped in.
*hugs rose* I hope you stand up for yourself, darling...
you should have heard the noises each time he dropped a screw...for goodness sake!!
and when i suggested he use the pliers to reach a small lever in the door hinges...well...but he did have the grace to thank me later.
lol irk :D Maybe, because they don't have periods, they are not used to dropping stuff all the time.
anyway the cabinet is put together, and have a flying stab where it is...
in the now-empty shed?
that's right, that lovely empty space in our rooms... * sigh *
awwww poor rose.
*giggle* the shed will never be empty...
ok, passive=aggresive battle plan: fill up the cabinet with your undies and stuff. When Don complains, tell him that if you have to share your room with it, you are gonna darn well fill it too. It will be moved to the shed in no time ;)
such a nekkid grid today
nice thought, sprite. but he does have to have some where secure for all his camera equipment. i acknowledge that
it was a joke, sweetie
as you know, I don't advocate passive-aggressive, lol. I am more like the blunt one...
maybe i'm a little touchy tonight/day. i have been awake on and off since 1am last night.
*hugs rose* You are fine the way you are, darling. Touchy or tired or giggly or whatever.
loves ya, sprite
it is mutual, dear friend.
have you taken your new meds? Might be nice to turn in early and have a long night?
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!
another hour before meds time. then an hour after that for the next lot.
ugh, talking about sleep... I could easily sleep another few hours, lol
why don't you dearest?
don't want to mess up my waking and sleeping rhythms any more than they are already are
darling, I have to go... nature calls. Sleep well tonight, and take care. *hugs* and lots of love. And to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
okay, sweetie. {{hugs}} dear. xoxox
Good morning, everyone:)
just found a nice un 7/64 8/85 combo. Means uncharted or unexplained.
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!!! This is something to think about next time you are tempted to by that gold bauble:).....
The mines of South Africa can descend as far as 12,000 feet and reach temperatures of 130°F. To produce an ounce of gold requires 38 man hours, 1,400 gallons of water, enough electricity to run a large house for ten days, and chemicals such as cyanide, acids, lead, borax, and lime. In order to extract South Africa’s yearly output of 500 tons of gold, nearly 70 million tons of earth are raised and milled.
nose
oops
Sp, should we save the earth and trade up to diamonds?
*So
Oh sure, that will make it all better...not
Hahahaha
I did not even buy a diamond for my beloved engagement ring. Instead I used a "reclaimed" diamond from a damaged wedding set made in the 30's and had thew stone remounted using old gold for the setting. was quite an interesting project.
Hello, Babblers :-)
That sounds lovely and so thoughtful.
Howdy,zooz
it was quite fun. I just found a hobbyist who like to make jewelery
Random selection of letters? I think not. Look at the 4 letters in the top left hand corner, and on the day that's in it!! Hat-tip to Dr God, and Happy St Patricks Day to all.
Happy St Patricks Day to you too, Soodle :-)
Beannachtaà na Féile Pádraig oraibh, Soodle
Go raibh maith agat, Molly, mo chara.

He who he9 is lost:)
Ha Ha.

Off to rustle up a full Irish, bbl.
mmm.. full Irish brekkies....
Déan duine dom freisin, Soodle!
Makes me of a mind to make a pan of bobble and squeak before too long
bubble
ooh I love that too, Crossy *hands Crossy my plate*
I can feel those arteries clogging as we speak:)
lol
I do not do kippers in my bubble and squeak the way my dad used to though:)
That reminds me..I love kedgeree too but without prawns though.
I have lots of leftover mashed, bits of beef, and even some leftover Brussel snouts;) shall add some tomato and a couple of sunny side ups nestled beside it and it shall be perfect
No.. it will only be perfect when you add bacon to it..It is not the same for me without bacon bits.
Sadly, I have had to omit bacon for the msot part because it is so expensive of late:((
most
True but you would not be having bubble & squeak too often..so it could still be added :-)
When bacon becomes more expensive that prime roast beef, it has to be left on the shelf
Fair enough :-)
I miss it, but once a month I try and get a taste of it if I make my way out to the farm and I see the good stuff;)
Good quality bacon has been sitting at $6.00 for 3/4 of a pond for a while now. The pigs must be golden indeed:)
pound
The price of bacon does seem to be getting silly..although you can still get some cheap slices here.
Market forces will put it back son soon i hope:)
Good morning and HSPD to those who celebrate!
It is like milk here in the UK.It is now cheaper to buy milk than bottled water!
Hello, Car :-)
Very nice icon, Car :-)
ty :)
I avoid bottled water. i drink so much, I did not want to be generating all that platic, so I bought a personal sized brita water container. it has its own filter and each mini-filter treats 250 bottles.
plastic
I have a water brita water filter on my kettle and a normal water filter jug too, so no need to buy bottled water.
And as i am on my own the filters last so much longer :-)
I*
this is the one I use, and I highly recommend it...
http://tinyurl.com/ku95t7z
Looking
I bring it everywhere with me.
You can usually get them at your local big box store for under 10 dollars
and it comes with 2 filters in many cases
Have to love 500 bottles of treated water for 10 dollars. the refill filter pack has 2 filters and is 6 dollars
Yes I have seen similar in tesco supermarket here for around £10
I would be lost without mine:)
The filters are about the same price here too.
I bought one for my wife and son as well:)
We do a lot of hiking in the summer and it comes in handy
Not too keen on flushing the filters first though.i tend to get a twangy flavor for the first couple of drinks.
Yes outdoor bottles like the one you have are very good.
yes, the first flush comes out black as you activate the filter, but it is all good after that
I just run the first bottle down the drain.
Oh..i have never seen black come out of my kettle or water jug??
Only the first time after you change the filter
Oh I use the maxtra filters, Crossy. Is that the same ones you use?
Sounds like you have coal filters.
Hi everyone.
Hello, Sukee :-)
Stats please for the U?
Hello sukee
i have a un7/64
Hi car.
no others tho
A seven..gosh.
Found it! TY
Have you..geez..what is the matter with me!

you just had to mention tea..Now I had better make myself another cup too..lol
Still on my first coffee, slept in. Guess I needed the sleep :)
I cannot wait until the bus comes, and then I am napping on the couch for a bit.
I need sun, we have been overcast for a few days.
Overcast here today, but yesterday was so bright, I got a headache.
The glare on the snow is hellish
Back to the low temperatures again, but only for a day or two and nowhere like it was last month
Yup, that is us tomorrow
mmmm... Nice , strong Ceylon orange Pekoe tea. Sadly I was up once again at 05:30, or what I fondly refer to as "Bladder O'clock"
Gotta get my sunglasses out.
Oh dear, Crossy.
I read until almost midnight last night.
I would call that O'dark thirty
lol
Luckily, I don't wake up often for that reason.
Have an appointment today at the police station to get fingerprinted;)
Oh oh, now you will never be able to commit a crime.
lol, at least they are not asking me to pee in a jar...
or swabbing me for a DNA sample
I'm surprised they don't :)
Hope those kids at school appreciate this:/
Probably not.
Agreed. They are too busy trying to get laid or plan their next drug score:/
generally out of a class of 30, you have 5-8 that really try hard, 4-5 that coast to a minimal pass, and the rest are seat-warmers
I guess if you can reach at least one its worth it.
I know! I had that with one young lady, and when it "clicked" for her it was amazing!
She went from a 60% give or take to mid- 80's- low 90's
Great.
Of course that APA will mess with anyone's mind:)
the African fly is in da grid;)
yay found it, ty.
hello. {{crossy}}
Hi Ruby
went through the first 79 like wildfire.
((ruby))
now I'm catching my breath and reading the chog
My exotic french GF, you are wildfire;)
I better go make some breakfast, see you all later.
tc sukee
hi and bye sukee
Hello Ruby! How are things today?
Think I scared Ruby off by hitting on her:))
Either that or she had to haul something upstairs to hubby.
hello car. Husband is doing amazingly well, it's just a question of his not going up and down the stairs unaccompanied. However, he doesn't remember anything I say and yesterday removed his bandages (!!) and woke me at 4AM (2 days in a row) because he couldn't find his glasses and thought it was dinnertime.
There she is:)
By the time he gets better, I'll need to be hospitalized for exhaustion. I think I did 60 flights of stairs yesterday and have lost 2 KG in a week
I am glad hubby is recovering well from surgery
Oh darling! I am sorry for your caregiver trials and tribulations, but I am glad to hear that he is doing well. Please try to take some time for yourself.
Acck. eat up Ruby. You are already no bigger than a bird!
Every time I fall asleep, he says "Are you awake?"
Give him a couple hot whiskies before bed and maybe you can get some sleep
Ummmm...( not wanting to offend)...can you knock him out at bedtime?
snap
He is begging me for his alcohol but as he's taking tramadol, I'm afraid to give him any.
No! no alcohol then!
Yesterday, he was so te5 when I said no, that I finally gae him 1/2 shot of Campari with a lot of ice and water.
yes, do not want too much booze on top of a opiate:(
I told him that he had a choice of pain or a cocktail and he preferred the cocktail! Duh
Yesterday, my two sweet and gentle dogs treed the neighbor's cat (who was, BTW, trespassing). They sat at the bottom of the tree for a long time just watching.
When the neighbor finally retrieved the kitty, after I had locked up the dogs, Raffie just sast staring up at the tree for a long time.
Hoping for another furry tree-toy
Well, a loose cat has to take its chances if that is how the owner cares for it.
Our yard is tightly fenced but cats can climb anything
Our kitties are indoor only; too many flat cats on the road as it is.
Her other cat was eviscerated in the field bove us by a badger.
ouch, nasty way to go!
I hadn't known there were badgers here
This is such an odd place. No edible small animals (squirrels, rabbit) still exist but there are foxes etc.
Guess the French did not find badger tasty enough:)
there are deer (too few to hunt, I think) and wild boars that are evidently real garden pests (also, no fun at dinner parties)
we have no wild boar, but we are up to our armpits in white-tailed deer
Lots of wild turkeys this year as well
Every night at 10 or so, my neighbor feeds the foxes in the field and Raffie goes crazy and howls like a wolf
there is a pic of them eating apples together on my web site for those who are interested.
http://crosshairmusings.webs.com/
reminds me I must put something new in there soon...
could you send me an e-mail linkm pls? I am too tired to write down your address

95 left..Will give my eyes a rest from the screen. Will be back later :-)
Good day to all.
morning, scrabbs
I am starting with laryngitis and a cough today.
You probably catch that from the kids you take care of
Howdy scrabby. I am sorry you are under the weather:(
All those kids are germ incubators:(
They get it for half a day, pass it onto you, and you have it for 2 weeks;(
I don't feel very ill but I will have no voice in 1-2 days.
My own beloved is having a few days of reactive airway issues. Had to take her to the hospital. they put her on Prednisone for 4 days, and a steroid inhaler:(
Nothing wrong with a quiet woman... crossy ducks and runs for cover....
I started using an Advair inhaler which I used in Nov-Dec when I coughed for 6 wks.
Haha. I am quiet anyway.
oh-oh...trouble in paradise
lol! wife saw what I typed and gave me hell:))
lol
Crossy is getting beat up now.
I do not know if it is what we are doing to our environment or what it is, but it is almost to the point where Ventolin should be taken off the rx list and just put on the shelf. Even I need to steal the wifes inhaler for a blast from time to time
But inhaled steroids are the primary treatment for asthma, not bronchodilators. If OTC people will puff away on albuterol and avoid seeing their doc.
You are right:/
I leave the wifes steroid inhalers alone
Advair has a long-acting bronchodilator + steroid.
But after a long hike when I am wheezing like a tea kettle, a shot on the blue puffer helps
We have never tried advair, but my beloveds asthma is chronic, and been around for decades. I do not think they want her on steroids continuously.
We will have to arrange another breathing test for her
Can anyone help with the di7/56?
matty, to take the harness off the yak
Thank you! I had the UN similar to that one - I should have tried it
yw, matty
hello friends
morning, Trif
we have such a fun field trip today - going to a pottery place where you throw clay on wheels and the whole thing. I can't wait to see how much the kids love it
Howdy, trif:)
howdy crossy
still no sign of a plumber, by the way.....sigh
Trif, no guarantees by try Damon Roach in Halifax
but try
Poor trif. Wish I was there for you
I think I went to school with him! How funny! What are the odds there are two men named that? didn't know he was a plumber!
thanks grant!
But old-style radiator repair is almost a lost art nowadays
at this point it would probably be more cost efficient to fly you here crossy
I do have a question though crossy - should I ask them to haul it away, or keep it? I was thinking they would probably sell it to a scrap metal place. Well, why shouldn't I, and get the money myself?
Keep it. If nothing else it has scrap value
thank pet
thanks
many people in this area look for original older radiators when renovating older homes
in7 the 1st?
Especially if they are ornate
its not. its old, ugly, and weighs more than my entire family
lol. they were heavy things
Then sell it for scrap
Is it in a basement?
no. junk room on first floor. Used to be mr. hates office. bad mojo has lingered.
and once again we see that there is NO problem the chog can't fix. How I adore you all
Turn bad-mojo room into pottery studio:)
Sometimes it is easier to have some one haul it away for the scrap they can get from it. Takes a lot of muscle and a heavy vehicle.
whispering: (((I suspect it will soon be someone else's home office, crossy, or at least man cave, but I don't want to jinx it))))
Just my .02...
lol! Trif is on the hunt!!
just hopeful....
I find it very nice that you have a space reserved for a man-cave or office
phantom: key note
if I can get rid of all the junk in it, mind you....
On the hunt? Is Valentine no more? : O
picture an 8 x 8 junk drawer
gosh no! he's the one I hope will squat
Happy St. Pat's Day, Molly
leaving for a while, be back later
I forgot! Happy St. Patrick's day to all who observe it!
Wish I had a nice bottle of single malt craft brewery tipple to give it the respect it deserves:))
good morning everyone and HSP day to all - must remember to call sister, it's her b'day
Howdy, Flosey:)
Was looking at a picture of you just today. I was organizing my web site:)
ah, that was a happy time, Crossy
Wish the brekkies they served was better. It will have to be a crossy breakfast next time;)
was back there last Fall for a cousins reunion - it was amazing to see cousins I hadn't seen since they were very young kids, now amazing adults!
my brother, sister and I were the oldest by a few years
brb
aha crossy - then we'll have to have it at my son's home - not far from where we met
hi! clue for the di6/33 please

Hi Flo
hello....
Hello Pen
morning Penq
can someone please give me STATS for the bottom row N?
no 5/10 and 6/18
ty molly...
you can almost spell Tennessee....
almost
i was just thinking that it's probably good that others can't see what words i try... ;o)
agreed
Oh but we can
sometimes, lol....
in my exercise class yesterday, the instructor said something about St. Patrick's day and someone went on a rant about how he was a murderer and shouldn't be celebrated....
Never heard that .
perhaps he fought infidels....don't know much about him really....
any clue for the 9?
I've read a few things about him, but never heard that one before.
it builds on the he 8.....to hold back....
Maybe it was a PETA person who pities the poor snakes : D
maybe :)
hah...perhaps....i thought it was an inconsiderate thing to say....
Takes all kinds Penq.
very true...
It's possible that there are uniformed Pagans who consider St. Patrick a murderer because he converted so many to Catholicism.
i was glad we were not meeting on the 17th....there probably would have been some little old lady wearing a lot of green who would have been embarrassed...
That's a stretch.
right Penq.
just saw a business sign on a TV ad...spelled oppurtunity....you'd think someone would have noticed...
There are stories that those who could not be converted were killed. Not much basis in fact though. Most Pagans just went underground when the Catholics were stamping their mark on Ireland.
so much grief over religious beliefs. Will it never end?
It would be nice if it would end. But it seems to be alive and well (ISIS) these days.
sickening
It's a shame to see people losing their heads over religion
So wrong...so very wrong....
(but I'm laughing)
especially when one becomes an outcast simply by saying, I cannot believe all these things I was raised to believe
Know that feeling Flo.
What threw you flosey... the ark or the 7 day thing?
That'll do it.
lol ru, long story

Hello Tanya
Maybe a woman coming from a guy's rib?
good evening
Hi tanja
I think of it as the "Oh come on" moment.
it is nice to be back having the time to play - life has been a little chaotic and turned on its head
that says it well, hego
2nd column E?
That's because you're in Australia! :)

A musical group of 9 and plural NO.....
A tough one, that is.
Wow 4 months?
good morning
good morning Jane
Tanya grab bars in the bathroom are inexpensive and easy to install and a great help.
Hi Jane.
I cant even begin to imagine what that would cost
yep he had surgery back in the beginning of Novemebr and suiffered " an extreme rare complication" which left hiim a paraplegic permanently
ty jzw

I am going to have grab bars installed in my bedroom too hego

he 8/9 to hold back from doing something and plural
i found it ty tce
he is 70 - 20 years older than me :) and they had him written off as a permanent hoist job but he has prioved them wrong :) with a little asisstance he can manage car transfers, bed transfers commode transfers and 99 per cent of his personal care
Good for him!
it was a dreadfull shock and the worst was he had a breathing tube in so was awake for four hours before he could tell anyone he could not feel his legs
nightmare.
he could have died - and I would much rather have him with no legs than dead:)
am with you there Tanja
Will you have help at home?
we could but we wont actually need it - I do however have 2 sons and dd and her partner still living at home so help is there if required - we are working on being as independant as possible as we do not want to be dependant on agencies - that may have to come later down the track but for now well we have a life to live:)
god speed tanja
Sometimes a nurse or rehab specialist popping in to check on you can be a great help.
k's killed
wtg Jane!
yes they do have paitent liasion people and the peer support people have been brilliant
Best of luck to you.
but oh the expense of things - and he is not considered severe enough for alot of the grants - but we will make it - e have 35 years together - not letting him go now :) and it is soo nice to back:)
Bless you both.
Does Australia have national health care? How does it work in your country?
what are the best words todaty
fw, last word te7/36
Congrats Flo!!
tks hego
Special, not sure what you're asking.
te7...number, plural + last three of a metropolis
Oh never mind me. She has it, I thought she was asking for it. And I haven't even been to the bar yet.
nice clue Molly
wtg flosey, congrats! hi all, opening chat.. HSPD to all the Irish and those who just like to celebrate too!
Hi Aloy!
yes we do so he is a public patient and well looked after in the spinal rehab unit - he qualifies for centrelink and I qualify for carers which means many medications are subsidised - we will be supplied with wheelchair slide boards etc but things like catheters - we get a grant for so much but when you conider that one sort is 1 each and the other he uses is 10 dollars each not a lot really:) but overall Australia has an excellent health care system
nm Molly, tks anyway - now off for breakfast, bb tonight for more !! once hooked........
Bye Flo.
howdy hego! thawed out yet?
bye flo
All thawed out. YAY!!
thanks for the good wishes people :)

I will be getting laminate flooring installed in my house and am looking at Greenguard certified brands. Anybody have advice or suggestions for me? I have been doing research to educate myself.
Is it snow and glass proof, Scrabbs?
Yes! The three floor level windows will be replaced with tempered glass soon. My roof will have MANY ice guards installed this summer. It is a year of home improvements!
Home improvements are good. Especially when they are paid for by insurance.
Scrab do you have Wndow World where you live?
I don't know if replacing the carpeting can be covered by insurance or not. I know there are numerous glass shards embedded which is prompting me to finally get laminate flooring.
A local glass/window company is doing the repairs.
I should think it would fall under water damage and glass breakage. Best to talk to your agent about that one.
Ask about the Hardness factor, Scrabbs.. my son has some beautiful laminate in his apt... I admired it and so he inquired.. and the only drawback is that it tends to tear if things are scraped across it, like furniture.. we have laminate in a couple of rooms in Ohio and have not had a problem.. easy to clean, like it a lot.. but I can't remember the brand..bought it at Home Depot on sale I think
scrab did something happen in your home for you to need so many repairs?
In an hour a contractor will come by to look at the carpeting and discuss flooring installation.
Thank goodness the bunnies weren't hurt. Must have been very scary for the poor dears.
Off to lunch. Later!
MLFAN--2 feet of snow (with 6 inches of ice) slid off my metal roof last week and crashed against the house breaking 5 windows!
bye judi
Aloy, there is the AC scale. AC 5 is the most durable.
scrab YIKES
ty for that info, Scrabbs
I arrived home to discover the damages Wed evening. That was 4 living room windows. Chunks of ice in LR. Poor downstairs bunny was scared in his bedroom. The next night the nsow/ice on the other half of the house crashed down (I was home and it was loud) and broke a DR window.
updating my icon. this is from my yard yesterday. put the top down on my miata today.
Wow! We will be getting more snow today and I will cross-country ski with a friend at 2.
Spring will be here soon.
almost 80 here
Wow!
it's coming. get your windows fixed.
New glass is ordered. Windows are boarded up with plywood now--very attractive.

so is that yo 4 in the word?
yes mlf

just been through the chat - have laminate in the kitchen - never again! Even though we bought the heaviest in the market, it is still full of nicks and dents -- everywhere a knife has dropped, and a huge one where the electrician dropped his screwdriver during renovations. Will go for the real thing next time.
*hello everone :-)
hi cyber. nice rant!
I've heard the same thing about laminate, Nan. I would never invest in that kind of flooring. And anyone with pets needs to heed your warning.
hi nan
Howdy again, everyone. I am in the process of making a nice, home made shepherd's pie for tonight's dinner:)
aww poor cross lol
cyber what about fake hardwood?
Poor Cross?? I love making a good shepherd's pie. Very tasty
Laminate flooring is fake hardwood
cross i love shepherd's pie..you know most of the things you are making always sound so good:)
molly some of it is vinyl
My only issue with homemade Shepherd's pie is making the crust. That takes a while and makes a mess in the kitchen.
we have fake hardwood. their are tiles out there that look like hardwood flooring though
The real 3/8 inch hardwood flooring is expensive. Almost have to add another mortgage on your home to get it done:(
hardwood floors are not cheap at all(real stuff)
fake can be pricey as well
Hi, everyone! Cross, you just helped me realize what to do with my leftover meatloaf! No crust, just mashed potatoes on top. Yay, dinner is set!
yaa for jbsanno!
good eats:)
jbs and some bread with gravy
wouldn't do 3/8" either -- would go for the 5/8" stuff, then when it gets beaten up you can sand it down and refinish it
I add a rich gravy, peas, diced onions and shredded carrots and other secret crossy ingredients;)
jbs i love your icon
Grew up with hardwood floors, hard to maintain with 3 dogs and 5 kids. They look great restored now, though!
Kids and any kind of pets are hell on good hardwood floors. Unless you are the "constant cleaning" type.
jbs my parents house had the hardwood floors but not until later it got scratched and such and to my knowledge wasnt redone very often
Thanks, MLF, got it from Jellen years ago, and never wanted to change it after that, even when icon themes were all the rage.
exatly molly
most of the nice oak flooring is see is $2.00-$8.00 per sq foot!
I have a corned beef in the slow cooker. I can't wait to get home. I love that smell when I go through the front door.
good choice jbs i cant find one to stick with
forgot this was St. Pat's Day
no one wearing green today cyber?
Yes, I love your calligraphy kitty, JBsAnno
5 kids, 3 dogs. Major cleaning occurred when my parents escaped for an evening out (my oldest brother was "in charge"). We moved the furniture to make the living room a hockey rink, and my brothers used the toilet brushes for sticks. Tennis ball for a puck. Had to clean the bathroom when the brushes broke. Of course, we scrubbed so hard to clean that we broke them. That
That's our story, and we stuck to it...
sure jbs lol
I have hard wood floors. Had them refinished when I moved in 20 years ago. Two cats. Several coats of polyurethane on them. They still look good.
I also stay with the same icon these days. My First Nation spirit wolf is here to stay:)
there's a little bit of green in my icon.
Tks, Cross! I do love my kitties. Yes, mixi, I agree, protective covering is a must!
I will raise a glass to the Emerald Isle later on in respect;))
Aaaroooo! ---> to cross :)
Happy birthday to my brother-in-law.
Oh, yes, gravy is a must, and cold cold chopped onions for a savory crunch. I just ate lunch, and now I
