ty so much rose!! How are you??
not too bad, thanx dee. magnesium infusion has worn off. back on the tablets. and you, dear friend?
odd day today; a friend's husband died unexpectedly earlier this week. We went to the viewing this afternoon - sad about his death, but saw so many people from my old work life. Seeing them brought back alot of wonderful memories and times...
He died less than a month after a cancer diagnosis... so family didn't feel like they had enough time to say goodbye
am so sorry to hear about the loss, dee. not easy to deal with. was it expected?
oh, just read.
They thought he had about 9 months; he was diagnosed 3/12 and died 4/7
just like my dad. diagnosed, and gone within 6 weeks. i was grateful that he died still looking like my dad.
A definite reminder today that we have no control ...
Valid point, rose
He was an ornery guy... 40 years ago he introduced me to Drambuie LOL
our church organist is grieving badly. he was to go interstate for his niece's wedding this weekend. but she was murdered 4 days ago. they have only just found her body. the police have the murderer in custody.
Let me tag along with my friend during a time my hubby was working and gone alot
Oh, how totally awful, rose. Was the murderer someone she knew??
yes. he was the cleaner at the school where she taught.
OH NO Granny not Stephanie
What on earth motivated him to kill her?????
diz... :-( you know her?
Aw Rose - how awful - so sorry :(:(:(
no Granny, just hearing about her this past week - God Bless her soul.
we don't know yet, dee. but suffice to say he is one very sick puppy. he took pictures of her burnt body on his phone.
makes me sick to my stomach... hideous
our organist has been sharing with us pictures of her, and stories about his family, waaaay before this happened. we sort of feel we know her and his family quite well.
So sorry to read about your friend's husband, too, Dee :(:(
Sure makes you wonder how he was hired to work in a school.
Thanks so much, Liz!!
Life is surely precious.
Back to lurking - doing Passover clean up now.
yeah, dee. especially would like to know how he passed the Working With Children checks.
Bet that is taking some time :)
Exactly what I was thinking, rose.
Very stressful - fitting stuff back into boxes!
liz, loved the cartoon of the birds...lolol
2 more hours -then bread, here I come!
Definitely know that feeling after our Christmas celebration here.
bread?
It's a major thing, if like us, you change over everything - totally different crockery, cutlery pots and pans etc.
Shouldn't really be doing it either before passover ends or on the sabbath, but there you go! Such heathens!
no yeast, ru
oh.. you don't have to Challah liz :D
lol, Ru. Looking forward to making challah again on Thursday and regular bread tomorrow.
have a few friends in pittsburgh that are very strict, liz... double appliances in kitchen
beautiful traditions
double appliances don't sound kosher to me
Same here - 2 dishwashers!
lol, ru, you are a brat
:D
Definitely creates a lot of work; have great respect for you
Hmmm does that mean I can have a regular mistress and then a kosher one too?
Don't know about that! My "line" is wiggly by the standards of many others, but I'm consistent in what I do.
As long as you don't mix them up, Ru!
Still a beautiful sentiment, Liz.
did you have a lot of guests, liz?
oh, congrats, rose... stuck with 26 here
Only on Thursday night - don't have that many close friends here -haven't really lived here that long.
Need to go and help hubby, who's doing all the packing up - I'm just reading lists from the computer! What goes where etc. BBL
*wonders if liz has a kosher computer too*
FWs
Enjoy, Liz.
wtg, diz
Apple's aren't kosher or not kosher
Sorry about the rogue apostrophe!
What makes an Apple not kosher? I don't know that rule.
That's what I'm saying -they're neither kosher nor not kosher. They're just OK
oh, ok
Was just joking about my computer - but really going now.
WTG DIZ!!!
thanx for the congrats dee
yqw
oh, tonight we visited a friend who had total knee replacement 3 weeks ago... her progress was amazing!
full flexion already and a lot less swelling than I expected
*covers eyes*
LOL, ru
cool sh 7/36... don't remember seeing that here
fireworks
well done dee..I'm way behind
WTG DEE!!!
ty, ru... used lickety for last 14
thx, rose
39 here and not making much progress
I'm seeing a lot of elmer fudd words
however
last stragglers were tough.. some oddball words in this one
i found quite a few with the most ending.
the S in the middle has 27 words that start there.... I can't see beyond 3!
3 sw words from there
THANKs, Dee
yw
I think I give up for the night
I'm not getting anywhere
sleep well, ru... I am off, too. *poofing with hugs*
nite rose and everyone left :)
sweet dreams dee
good morning all
looks like there might be another -ing grid in the making
{{hugs}} my dearest sprite.
cooooooeeeeeee rose! Quit kissing your delectable man and join me here!
;-P
lol! Good girl. *hugs* my dear friend. How was your day? And how was the movie yesterday?
movie was great....bicentennial man. a robin williams film. there are such a lot of one liners in it.
robin williams is niceeeee!
and I think it is based on an Asimov story... always good
have achieved a lots today. three loads of washing, both bathrooms cleaned, dishes washed, bed stripped but not remade yet...no pain, and spasms under control with the magnesium.
wow rose, that is so good!
yes it is, sprite. well done. * points tp sprite. THAT's my friend*
wow :) *grins proudly*
and how are you? how was the night? and yesterday?
I slept pretty well. And yesterday was good. I was pooped after the shopping, but I had planned an easy menu and it all went fine. Kids ate late, they had a school night. So it was just rob and me at dinner time... nice and quiet, lol.
next film is to be ' the book-thief'. do you know it?
no, but I think I read the book. By Zumak or Muzak or something like that
Zusak
ah. Close but no cigar. Yeah. About a girl that steals books and shares them, to counter the nastiness of the war.
yes, you got it. only the mistress of the house left books out for her to take.
ah ok. You view great movies there in church. Not really churchy movies.
yes. as the vicar said...the narthex/foyer is not the same as the worship room. swearing is allowed, with some limitations.
aw I like your vicar. Very good. Makes it easier to find good movies to share. Those that give insight in what it is to be human.
woooot found a 7-8-9 combo!
have you ever seen 'the commitments' ? the 'f' bomb is dropped all through, but the vicar said that it's okay.
no, haven't seen it and I don't think I know anything about it. Let me see.
and her personal choice is ' the blues brothers'.
awwwww that is sweet! She is a wonderful woman, isn't she.
out of the blue, but here is what I thought: have you guys seen "Yentl"?
with barbra streisand?
yes
sprite, she one of the best people i know.....well....after you of course....col
yes, i have seen it, dear. it's a ripper of a film.
roflol I am pretty sure she is a much better person than I. But thank you, my dear friend. I feel ten feet tall :D
see how slim you look??
I love that movie. And so inspiring to see a woman in that country, in that faith, in that time, aspiring to learn.
*giggles* I still pack a wallop, even at 10 feet.
sprite, you would have been so proud of me. i found that he7/8/9 combo just after the flip. i was stunned.
oh wow rose! Well done you!
i posted, and une was knocked off her chair...lol
roflol! Une is a good 'un.
i have no idea how many times he has watched this film....but....don is watching casa blanca AGAIN!! if this keeps up, i will be word perfect on the dialogue just as he is.
some movies are like that. You can just watch them over and over until you know them by heart.
lol... it is not of the same level... but I know each and every line of Ghostbusters. Now that is a movie that is one series of one-liners.
*rolls eyes* can i come over to your place? pleeeese
sure sweetie. Give Scotty a prod.
oh yeah, and aladdin, with robin williams as the genie...or good morning vietnam.
a cattle prod??
oh yes, aladdin. Not sure about Good Morning Vietnam. I really shouldn't watch war movies.
a cattle prod might incapacitate him. Remember he isn't that young anymore. Start with poking him between the ribs. With one finger.
sprite. there isn't a lot of war stuff in that film. only one scene i can recall where the viet cong blow up a cafe frequented by GI's.
but the nasty stuff is very limited.
hm ok, sounds like I could manage that one. My friends once took me to watch Platoon, in the cinema. I left after half an hour. Had nightmares for months.
the first time i saw aladdin i nearly laughed myself inti ICU.
lol yes, aladdin is absolutely awesome.
ugh...don't blame you honey. and the thin blue line or was it the thin red line...they all make me sick.
and catch twenty-two. i read the book, walked out of the movie.
at some point I have learned not to expose myself to that kind of movies. Books are not as bad. But some books... nope, not for me.
i know, our imaginations are enough, right?
oftentimes even too much, yeah
it's strange...but the oriental action movies i can watch.
I can watch most action movies. As long as they are not based on any real stories.
like ' house of flying daggars '
ugh... daggers
don't know that one
sprite, it is really beautiful. the photography leaves you breathless.
omg... 13 Ks? How did I miss that darn K?
will keep that one in mind then :)
i simply cannot watch anything that demeans women, or explicitly tortures another human. it is too much.
anything that demeans people, or torture, or war.
exactly.
I don't watch much tv. And when I do, I want to be entertained. If I want exposure to real world suffering, I can watch the news. Which... I don't.
liz was here earlier. she was hanging for some decent bread...lolol
aw poor girl! She was so ready for passover to be... over.
she should be tucking into some sort of sandwich about now.... *giggle*
Ks killed.
whoot sprite. you rock gorl!!
ugh!!! girl
* am a ricking girl*
*giggling* and don is looking at me as if i am strange...
tsk. he is strange. You are perfectly normal.
yeah, right! the only two positive words which together make a negative.
or normally perfect. Or both.
lol, normal is just a measure that none of us are.
don says normal is just a setting on a washing machine. wanna spin with me??
I like that!
which?? don's definition? or my invitation ?
both!
* giggle * how did i know you would say that?
cuz you're my soul sista!
and i knew you would say that!! *sigh*
but you didn't know how I would spell it :P
I should have typed: cuz yo ma soul sista
*rolls eyes* i can just see us tring to have a conversation...you filling in my blanks, and i filling in yours.
and giggling all the time. Our guys will go crazy.
Hello, Rose, Sprite :-)
phantom.... drumrolll cause it is a doozy... hinkiest!
hello zooz, dear man! How are you this morning?
omg. can you see it? darling, says Rob, ....and me answering or vice versa. our men are going to go nuts.
ooooh! {{hugs}} dear zooz
I am well thank you..Had some trolls on here last night.
yep. Cannot be helped. They will have to adapt.
ugh, that sucks, zooz. I hope they were ignored?
ugh, zooz. not nice.
They had disgusting monikas..But at least they have gone now :-)
probably asleep, lol
Not seen 0-0 on here for a long time.
no, I heard he went through a very bad phase. Down with severe depression. I hope he is doing a little better now.
Not a nice place to be at all.
btw zooz....the film last night? it was ' bicentennial man '.
so his new meds weren't 'holding' him? poor man.
Never heard of it, Rose. But glad you had a great time!
no, o-o has darker spells than most of us. Not an easy thing at all to live with.
zooz, it is a robin williams film. he plays a robot.
He was a fantastic actor!
and comedian!!
amen to that
his one liners are hilarious!!
I loved mork & mindy LOL
me too me too nanu nanu!
LOl
zooz, a lot of his script in that series was adlibbed.
awesome, isn't it? To have such wit, and to be allowed to use it in a series.
Yes i had heard that before.Shows how talented he was!
" If my knees knock any louder, I'm gonna look inside my pants and see who's there."
Teehee!
we have read several reviews of bicentennial man. it appears he had to stick to the script. but i swear there are some one-liners in that film which could only have come from him.
he may have convinced the script writers to include them :D
Is it a long film, rose?
one line, where a grown-up son of one of the characters was being particularly obnoxious. he walked off the scene.... saying...no wonder some animals eat their young.
Mindy: Why are you building a tower of Cheerioats? Mork: Because it's hard to stack oatmeal.
lolll I like that one
zooz, it runs for just over 2 hours.
Sorry about that bloody computer did an update and restarted without asking me first.will have to have words with it!
but after those 2 hours it drops dead of exhaustion and you can watch it at your leasure
*giggle* sprite. zooz, you gotta watch those updates, mate.
Did you go the whole experience and have the popcorn too, Rose :-)
change your settings for automatic updates to automatically download, but ask for install.
is now a good time to go and get my meds ready?
I would sneek my food in as a small box of popcorn is about £7 and the drinks are about the same.
sure sweetie. Whenever you like.
Go get those meds, Rose!
*giggle* zooz. strange you should ask that. we are thinking of buying a popcorn maker.
we go to the cinema about once a year. And we smuggle in our own drinks and goodies. No popcorn. Don't like popcorn. But M&Ms with nuts, yummie :D
Nice!
I had a packet of the nut m&ms yesterday :-)
They are on offer £1 for a packet.
very nice. I shouldn't eat them, they are really bad for diabetes. Sugar, chocolate and nuts. But once in a while...
My sister has a poopcorn maker. They only used it a couple of times..lol
Popcorn*
Would not want a poopcorn maker..LOL
poopcorn. Now that is an image.
Yes a treat I think is good for you, Sprite.
I know right! hahaha
:D
Did you have the bolognese the other day in the end, Sprite?
yes I did! Made it from scratch and it was awesome.
Good for you!
Hope the family appreicated it too.
and yesterday we had stewed beef, fries and a huge salad. Also a success.
they are very appreciative, zooz. Cooks in our house always get thanks from everyone.
Appreciated*
hey, what is a switched letter combo among friends?
and back. almost 8 minutes until dinner.
good planning, rose :)
What are you having tonight, Rose?
i am thinking of getting some REAL butter for the popcorn.
chicken in satay sauce, zooz
oh yummy
Very nice, Rose..yum yum
butter... not at all good for the cholesterol levels...but NOTHING tastes like it.
A lot of the popcorn makers these days do not require any oil or butter.
never could figure out the appeal of popcorn. But then I don't like butter at all.
oh, thank goodness...casablanca has finished..
I love both ..And if I do have popcorn at the cinema I will have salted & honey ones mixed together :-)
and now Don is gonna watch the Fast and the Furious...
now antiques roadshow. new series.
omg zooz... ok... here... have mine too!
no way sprite. he is very fond of breathing... and i just gave him a lethal look.
Teehee! And I still can not put on weight so I wil take those with thanks and shove them down my throat..yum yum!
good man!
*elbows zooz. move over buddy*
Greetings Dear Friends!
Hello, Puglet :-)
pugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg it is pugs! Hello my darling friend *hugs* How lovely to see you.
omg!! PUGS !! {{ hugs }}
Very longtime no see!
Howdy Zoom---How is everyone
just yesterday zooz asked for you and I told him how busy you are.
All good here, And you?
hugs and love back to you all
pugs, never mind us!! how are you??
I am fine. Feeling good even though the weather is positively autumny today.
timer has just gone off. dinner ready. bbl.
I'm great! and thanks Sprit for the email-lol
hehehe I love emailing with you, darling.
enjoy rose! *hugs*
our weather is crazy too--was in the 70's and last night it dipped down into the 30's
Our weather is looking a bit more gloomy today too.and the wind is also picking up :-(
you going to try kite flying, Zoom--lol
here it looks like autumn. Wind, overcast and dark, and a drizzling rain.
cold too!
brrrrr pugs, so cold
how are you and roy doing? And how was your sister's birthday?
LOL no chance, Pugs. Rather sit here and babble..chat..and drink my tea thank you :-)
well later today its to warm up into the 60's
wise man, you, zooz :)
Roy is fine and yesterday our outing for Barb's b-day went real well
ah wonderful, pugs! I was hoping it would be. And how are you and roy together?
fireflies
I was upset with the place I told you all about to work with sister on her mental health for they came once about 2 months ago and then just stopped. No call or nothing and I stopped in their office and called a few times and then yesterday while at work they came at last and have started a program so I feel allot beter towards them for right now
Congrats, Sprite!
jeezz how nonchalant of them, pugs. Glad you went there and told them to get their act together. Did your sister enjoy it?
thanks zooz :)
congrats Sprite. He is still states away and working on the move(more problems there) will email you on that but we are good
she seems to Sprite
as long as the two of you are good together, the rest will be sorted out in time :) Glad to hear it.
so how are you and how did the cooking go?
cooking went well, again. I am starting to get the hang of it, lol. I am fine. Really fine. Even managed to lose about 4 kg. The coming appt with the surgeon inspired me, hahaha.
so very happy for you and I wish you all the best on that too
thanks dear friend. I know you do and it means a lot to me to have that support.
what kind of classes do you have to go through before this?
and back. WTG SPRITE!!!!
yahoo Rose!
How is your pain Rose? Is the new meds helping
sprite, over here the surgeon expects the patient to consume optifast prducts to reduce the fatty liver.
pugs....magnesium infusion has worn off. the tablets are holding me. no pain to speak of.
Hi all and hugs :)
sorry Zoom, didnt mean to take over chat and cause you to feel left out blowing in the wind
Hello, Liz :-)
and yahoo!! here is liz girl back. xoxox my dear.
Hugs and Love Liz! YEAH the whole gang is here
Not at all, Puglet...I am busy looking for words :-)
hi Liz! *hugs*
except our beloved ruby.
So we're all here, including Zooz. Wow! Long time since that's happened
I never feel left out, pugs...believe me i have more than my fair share of the chat log..lol
Yes, except Ruby
will email you about that, rose
How is Ruby? Last I heard from her she wasent well nor her hubby either
still about the same, pugs
Things seem very tough for her
she should get help soon, Burt's daughter is coming for a couple of weeks
Hopefully she'll be a help
that will give her a nice break I hope
On the plus side. Her husband can now eat downstairs.
ah, that is progress.
I hope ruby will let daughter do things :D
do they not have in-home health care there for the elderly
i don't think so, pugs
yes they do. But ruby thinks it will kill Burt to be there. It will certainly be hard on him. But the way things are now, this is too hard on ruby.
It's very difficult for her. I think she'd feel very guilty to put him in care.
oh... are we talking of help coming to burt in his home, or burt moving into a nursing home?
But she also needs to think about her health.
I was talking about help coming to their home
Either!
over here we have healthcare pro's visiting the elderly in their own homes.
I don't think the language differences help either :(
we do too and also for those who cant get out of their home and on goverment health care
ah, yes, she has a nurse visiting once a day, I believe. But that was to watch his wound.
ruby speaks very good french. But Burt does not.
That's what I mean, so he isn't happy with non English speaking carers - very frustrating.
yeah. On the other hand, he has lived there for ages. And he is wicked smart, and can read russian. So he could easily have learned french in that time.
Stubborn, I guess?
hahahaha you got him to a T. Yes, very stubborn. A lovely man, don't get me wrong. And gentle and fragile in a way. But darn stubborn.
liz, sprite, pugs, we have a lot of elderly patients whose first language is not english. we, patients and nurses manage very well. what is the difference for burt in france?
I think he should give a thought to Ruby's well being
I got the impression from Ruby's comments that it's more to do with Burts understanding of everything now.
wellllllll let's just say that um... french people... and I know this is a generalisation... aren't inclined to do their best to communicate with other languages. Most don't even slow down their speech if you ask them to.
btw, youngest son and wife dropped i today. they have come up with the idea that i provide the deposit for the house and they pay off the loan, in their names.
Sad to say that's certainly the generalised feeling in the UK.
yeah, that is true, Liz, Burt is also speedily growing worse that way. But that is something nurses are used to.
why would they think its your place to do that Rose
* by * not * i *
how do you feel about that, rose?
pugs, if they take on the house, it would be a terrific load off my shoulders.
What security would you have
and in my will, the first $xx,xxx goes to his brother.
well lifting any stress from your life is a plus, I would say
I agree with you there pugs.
as long as they take over the loan, on their names, it sounds like a good deal then. But make sure they SIGN.
liz, i would have the equity in the property.
OK
i bought the property for $80K it is now worth over $300K.
How long ago did you buy it?
liz, over 12 years ago.
wow, that is awesome, rose. But hm... I don't really understand which deposit you are talking about, if the house has been in your name for so long
Fantastic
yeah, lol, sprite. josh did have an enormous grin on his dial when we talked about me giving them the deposit for the house. i am going to get a couple of evaluations on the property next week.
josh's grin was at the thought that i would be putting down the deposit on a property i already 'own'.
with all the monies pouring in from my ex-employer...i really do have money to spare.
Just check you spend plenty on yourselves ;)
abso-bl***y-lutely liz
if it makes you feel better and you wish to help out your family and it removes stress from your life, then go for it! Just protect yourself on matters like this--family or not
I dont mean for that to sound rude--sorry
the principal on my 'loan' has dipped well below $AU 70K
pugs, i hear you sweetie
Time for me to go. Hubby's been watching a programme about Aussie comedy - couldn't really relate to it! Finished now so time to be sociable! Really happy to have caught up with all of you. Hugs :) xx
Nice to see you all.Back later to try and finish.toodle pips everyone!
bye Zoom, nice to see you--enjoy your day
bye to you too Liz--enjoy
xoxox liz and zooz
I, too got to go shower and run into town to get stuff to feed us on this week--lol A chore in which I hate! Love and hugs to you all and so glad to have gotten to chat a bit
Good morning, everyone:)
pugs, my darling. it was so lovely to see you. xoxox
g'day crossy.
bye zooz, and hello crossy!
bye pugs, *hugs* and it was so lovely to see you 'live' :D
My best time of day; I get to see all my favorite girls:)
*hugs crossy*
g'day crossy
((sprite, rose)) and my mate, zooz
Weds
yp suzy
I have most of the day off today :) Just some laundry and a walk with Terra. Which is a good thing since the fridays with shopping and cooking give me afterpain. But it isn't too bad today.
nice, sprite. i hope you get comfort from it. and that your poor body gets some relief. xoxox
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day. Today I wish to share last words of famous authors. Oscar Wilde was born in 1854, and passed away in 1900, uttering as his last words: "Either this wallpaper goes, or I do." let this be a lesson , gentlemen not to interfere with the ladies when it comes to home decorating!
Or a lesson to the ladies to take statements like that seriously?
Yes, there is that, but the gentlemen only wins the battle, but loses the war:(
* giggling * crossy. xoxox to a very dear man.
((rose))
and g'day jj
Unless you consider that the lady might rather lose the wallpaper than the man. Then they've both lost the war.
Thoughts to ponder for a Saturday morning as the Mrs shows you wallpaper samples....
I think a spot of tea is in order, brb
lol... no wallpaper would be ugly enough to make me willing to lose my beloved
hello jj
That's the spirit, sprite! Old fashioned true love.
absolutely. Has been that way for over 20 years now, and we still do our best to make it last.
Our 22nd is this October:)
aw crossy, how beautiful :)
jj. himself and i have known each other for over 30 years. friends first..
ok, I should get going. Must fold a load of laundry to make room for the next one. And so on, and so forth. *off to Mt. Washmore* May you all have a blessed day and a peaceful night. *hugs* my friends.
Plan on taking my beloved on that steamship dinner cruise on the bay again. You can see a picture of the Segwun on my web site http://crosshairmusings.webs.com/
xoxox sprite. hope your day unfolds gently, my darling.
tc ((sprite))
and i am outta here too. nearly pumpkin time...xoxox
Have a good sleep, Ros
((rose))
Good morning if anyone is still around.
good mornie sukee
Hi bich.
The sun is shining here this morning. First time this week
It is sort of shining here, hopefully the rest of the clouds will disappear.
Have you had a lot of rain too?
hello...was without power for 7 hours yesterday
Yes, sort of off and on
Hi, sorry to hear that.
Well, it is April
Yes, and our reservoirs here need water.
high winds...didn't lose it all winter. Glad it waited til spring
It was quite windy here too yesterday.
Yes, the March wionds lasted til April
stats for the 9?

nbs/nbt
and...halfway!
ty sukee for the he 8 and 9's
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day! I have been sitting here since early this morning, while the rest of my family sleeps in on this quiet Saturday morning. I have been listening to music, which, unfortunately, I rarely get to do as often as i would like, and started listening to some old John Denver tunes. Listening to John has always been a guilty pleasure for me, because by and large those who were born after his tragic death little note or care for his style of music. I would like to share a video with you of John singing one of his lesser-heard tunes. What strikes me the most about this recording of "The Wings That Fly Us Home" Is the unvarnished state in which he gives it to us. there is no fancy production, no back-up singers, no huge orchestra hovering behind him as he sings. We get to hear every dropped beat, every chord that is not quite perfect, and every moment his timing is off; we hear what he has to say through his music with crystal clarity, and to me, that just makes this song even more special... http://tinyurl.com/kglb6oc
sorry for the length

You are quite welcome, Mubner:) I know that people can just surf the net for everything I go on about here in the chog. However, I hope that those who enjoy my tidbits look forward to them as a small present for the start of their day; perhaps it is nothing but an odd bit of information I bring to you, or a quote from some author from long ago, or, like today, a beautiful song from a talented singer taken from us far too soon. If you enjoy what I share, then I am content:)
an4/5 wolvie
I found the he 8/50 using morewords is it similar?
oh boy lol- ty kje
Loved the song, surprised that I'd never heard it before given my age and all. Great way to start the day
If you have never heard it before then I am really happy that I posted it today:)
The sharing of music is one of the best things we can do as a human being. The language of song is truly universal;)
cross I love listening to music
is the other he8 similar? I know it has the same stats
Indeed, MLF. Like I said, i do far too little of it these days:(
i don't listen to music nearly as much as i used to but i also listen to it through earphones
I currently have 1 he8/9 combo

lol, MLF. Are you just not tempted once in a while to go find a good used stereo system;one of those giant receivers like we had in the 70's, and about 4 giant speakers, set it up in the living room, then turn it up to 11, and pull the knob off? lol
it finally went in
cross I would listen to music withouth the earphones but I have two issues, a husband and a cat

good morning all
hi nan
Howdy, Cybernan
de6, please?
de + pole on a boat
missed something, crossy -- your son decided to "improve" you computer operation?
thanks got it
lol,Cybernan. he like to hunt for "cheat" apps for hsi favorite games. The problem is those apps are garnered from dubious 3rd party sites that have nothing to do with the original game designers whatsoever. So, they generally come loaded with ad-ware or viruses:(
lovely :(
The Mrs turns on her computer in the morning after one of my sons nightly forays into the seamy underbelly of the internet, and is greeted with endless pop-up ads and is instantly angry to start her day:(
not good -- hope he ducked!
Well, as with any youth, he is still sleeping the day away. I advise him to stay asleep...
reminds me of one of the granddaughters with her first cell phone --- after one day and $200 worth of ring tones, she was sans phone again
Ouch! someone needs to go to cell phone 101 class:(
this was several years ago -- she is 20 now
Well, I am sure she is better with her ringtones now:))
at the time she didn't know that all the lovely tunes she was downloading had to be paid for
Then again, my "kid" is 21...
but a very young 21.. more like 15:(
fw, time to get on with the day.. have a good one, everyone! ciao
bye aloy

It would bring a whole new meaning to "ring me"
the last two wa 5/18's ;I have the one ending in an e can anyone help with the other please?
i'm your penis i'm your fire . your desire
you certainly wouldn't want to say "come again" when you didn't hear something correctly :D

Happy Saturday greetings, Babblers!
Hi nan
HI judi
hi judi

We have to tone it down now kids
who are you calling a kid?
yes -- the skype was with the son that has the little ones and it's always good to see them
:D

I've never Skype yet
Tone what down? Did I miss some potty talk? DAMN!

Too late Ru, copious notes have already been taken and emailed

that's what I think too nan :D
cyber I resemble that remark.. I MEAN resent that remark
I hope it becomes a book someday don't you molls?

do you have sw 5/18?
yes i do
extend it/add an ending to it
more so i guess
f
thought it might me an extension, but I haven't found it. not ies, est, ite or ita
Oh don't start with the f, Nan. I'm still not over Annie's yfw : D
???? molly ?
Ending like the ending of a cheese pastry. yfw was an hysterical typo
of course - the only one left -- ty molly
what is yfw?
*snort*
no idea, ruru
She meant to type yw for you're welcome. And coming from sweet little Annie, the "perceived meaning" was just too funny
Like, "you're very welcome", only not so congenial.
*Knew Judi would get it*
lol - that is funny
Even the best of us are prone to effing about once and a while.
<---never ever ever cusses
(coughs)
*snort again*
Time to go for a loverly hi4 in the woods. Sunny and windy today. Spring is elbowing its way in.
He's a gentleman, don't you know? *coughs*
We love ruru just the way he is... usually.
Yes, he's amusing at times
Off I go. See ya! *POOF*
te 8 please?
Add not bro to the te5 before it
ty molly
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the clues
Woot nan
lawn crew here to power rake -- see you at the flip
*Stifles comments about lawn boys with power rakes*
Whatever do you mean Molly
*wonders if the grass is always greener...*
Nan is married molly.. she probably told them to sod off
Oh well, always nice to get your turf aerated
Whatever do you mean Molly
Bich, you play that wide-eyed innocent thing almost as well as Ru does. : D
Moi?
<---innocence incarnate
(wonders if everyone died of laughing?)
gasp, gasp
You'd think he'd at least give me CPR.
bbl...
not sure hego would want me pushing down on her chest
haha
(bystander to officer: I've never seen CPR done like that before)
:D
As long as the patient survives, what the heck.
bye! Good weekend All.
bye hego
Now that is desperate for chest massage. Whee!
not to mention the mouth to mouth
Indeed
does the sw 8 build off the sw 5?
yes it does
thanks-I'm trying all kinds of endings

Good afternoon!

Rex Ryan would be foot freak

All the Rex Ryan lovers will now write me up in their profiles
Are there Rex Ryan lovers out there?
I am not caring for this grid.
Words are stacked up in odd ways
I think I'll take a break.. this is a bit frustrating.

hi annie
Hi Owl, How have you been?
i am ok, and you?
Okay here to.
*too
FW. I have to start thinking about dinner. Bye.
as cot
Hi,Hi,Hi peri
hello, jax
hi Owl...finally got round to making the cookies...very nice. TY.
Hi all :)
morning Liz
Hi Lyn - how have you been? Haven't seen you for a while.
hi, lyn. i am glad you liked them.
I have been very well. And you? haven't been effected by the weather over the last few months?
what was the texture, and wee they flat?
I've also been fine - no, none of the cyclones actually got here. It was just a pretty wet, humid summer.
lynn, i am hanging in there. the weather has been awful, but nothing compared to the midwest tornadoes
Hopefully summer will be better for you TO
Slightly soft inside, not really flat, about a one cm in the middle. I may have made them a bit large - got about 24 from the batch - does that sound right?
Our summer was Ok - only a few really hot days - but we continue to be dry. Still watering the garden.
How are the dams? Enough water in them?
Is winter your wet season?
yes, that sounds spot on.
I looked the other day - 76% from memory. All good. I think we were all trained pretty well over the days few years to be more frugal with water
did you reduce the chocolate chips? the recipe called for too much
That's good. We also take care - I think that's inbuilt if you live in Aus! Our dam has always been pretty full though.
The cookies sound lovely - will try them sometime.
Chocolate - marginally reduced only - used dark and milk chips as that was what I had....I liked them because they were not too sweet
BBS - got to hang washing out
hope you like them, liz
They are quite messy to make - but worth the effort Liz. They turned out much better than I expected. And I would not have tried except I trusted TOwl
awww. i do not find them messy though
i thought they were comparatively easy, compared to what i make for christmas.
I should have explained - I rolled the mixture into a tube shape then cut pieces off, then rolled into a ball. (no cookie scoop) hence oily chocolate hands!
oh, i see! yes, sticky dough.
could you have used a tablespoon measure?
possibly but it worked out OK, olive oil would be good for my dry hands anyway.
i did not have high expectations for them. they surprised me.
know what you mean
I look forward to trying them. They sound really yummy
I hate it when a rogue tissue gets into the washing machine :(
especially in the black wash!
liz, i reduced the chips to a third of the amount. i would not use more than half of what it calls for
oh yuk.
Hello again friends
Good advice about the choccy chips.
hi Car
Hi car
hi, car. time to go. skipping dancing tonight.
Have fun!
Although I didn't reduce so much but used mostly dark chaocolate - so not overwhelmingly sweet
Have a good evening :)
bye Owl
i will turn in early. perhaps watch the hbo special on scientology. anyone see it?
only heard about the reactions to it
More good advice, Lyn - also prefer dark chocolate, so a mix like that sounds good.
i used 60% cacao ghirardelli
clue for ma 5/6 pls - before what you might do to potato
it is very much a dark chocolate lover's cookie.
Ghiradelli chocolate - yum! Remember that from my visit to SF years ago.
Have printed recipe - good occasion to use it in 2 weeks :)
I don't have it but will look with you Liz.
Thanks Car
ma5/6 ends like what you put a belt around
Yup...just found them!
Thanks Lyn
liz,check that clue request, i do nothave a 5/16
Sorry - i was unclear a 5 and 6
ah, liz what's the occasion?
85th birthday of a friend in our community
A meal after the synagogue service - we'll all take some food
nice! i just made a pistachio pudding cake. it used club soda and pistachio pudding and almond extraxt
Also sounds nice - but with passover just finished, I'm almond-ed out right now!
i love almond flavoring. but will try with vanilla and lemon next. lemon and vanilla is a match made in heaven
<----- drooling on keyboard
I love both vanilla and lemon
I made a fantastic cake - I'll just find the recipe for you
aw, poor car! and me with a broken heart and no appetite. shame on me.
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that :(
Aw! What happened, Car?
Ooops - misread that! TO - what happened.
Not me...TO
it will be ok. just hibernating for now.
((TO))
Hugs
ty. see you tomorrow.
Fireworks
yay!
Thanks
Any clues needed before I go?
my keyboard is so hard, i have to pound on it to type.
I'll just wait for Lyn's recipe, though.
Time for a new keyboard??
new laptop
oh is she getting it now? I wlll wait as well.
Ah! So a totally different feel to the old one.
Tried to find one with a short URL. Liz - search on River Cafe - hazelnut and coffee cake . It is very very rich and moreish!
ty.bye, all
Would feed a cast of thousands as you only need a small piece
Ah! River Cafe! Good recipes there. Time to go and make some bread. Have a good day / evening.
no, i need a whole new machine.
Bye to both of you
OK - hope you are able to get one soon.
Will look at the recipe, Lyn
Bye - off to get Expert

evening all! 53 left, no more than 6 left on any tile, nbs & nbt & time for lickety
hi dan
68 here
go harp go
I listed long ago
me too dan but still struggling
6 left - still a few S's eluding me
the s's are tedious. I have most of them now, dan
sh7/36? I have the religious buildings
good evening all - also working on Ss
hiya wv
also would love a clue for the ga6
don;t have either of those - will help you look
you migh ga#k at a man dressed like Toot###
ty harp!
the sh is a type of massage, also sound like a dog breed.
starts like a sect of Islam
and that's firewords! tx harp and all cluers. I tried the dog breed earlier :-)
wow good job dan! that was fast
can clue for a bit, though pretty tired - did one of my 2 favorite DC things today
what was that dan? cherry trees?
thanks GE- getting to 53 took a lot longer :-)
yep the blossoms and the fireworks are my favorites
I'd like to go there in the spring some time.
It's better for the locals, though, because it's hard to plan the actual peak time, isnt' it?
it is tricky, because they're only at peak for 3-4 days, that could fall anywhere in a 3-4 week window
usually the first half of April, but not always
right, so someone from Montana would not want to make non-refundable plane reservations, if that was the only reason for the trip.
at6?
a + author & satirist Mark
thanks that gave me a T word also!
and perhaps a W4 ?
yes you'd want to have some other things on the agenda for a Spring visit. Luckily, there are a few other things to do for visitors. Also, the magnolias and forsythias come out around the same window...
my son was born in DC the middle of March and my parents came to visit and we have beautiful pictures of the cherry blossons the 3rd week in March
I had a great time on the only visit I made to that area. The gov'mint was shut down but we still had too many choices!
today was gorgeous for them - 2bit family photos at http://tinyurl.com/o2gt48r
te8?
we have some of the same yoshino cherries in our neighborhood as well, so we can time our trip perfectly
te8 starts with a number, ends like a skin condition
related to the previous te5/6 combo
oh, of course..... thanks
beautiful photos, dan! which park is it>
2 spots - one the Enid Haupt garden in front of the Smithsonian "castle" - the other the Tidal Basin north of the Jefferson Memorial
the garden has the magnolias and the "weeping" pink cherry - the basin has the white yoshinos
and you can get a sense of the great weather and huge crowds
It looks like fantasy land. Does it smell good?
We didn't get to go to the Smithsonian. The guvmint was closed.
smells fantastic. yes it's a shame when they pull those kind of stunts. the city government is often impacted as well
hello everyone
