good morning all
{{hugs}} and good morning to you dearest sprite
hello my dear friend, I thought I'd try early and see if you were there :)
*grin* thanx dearest. what time is it there?
half past 8
so have the happy wanderers gone yet? or is that still to happen?
still to happen. I am to take them to canoe club, where they will meet the friend who will drive. We will leave at 10.
ahhhh. any sounds of stirrings yet?
yeah, they are up and about, showering for the last time this week, lol, getting dressed and fed, and loading the car.
oh, good, at least you are not expected to load the car.
I quietly sit by my computer and enjoy my time with my soul sister. And any other babblers who want to join us here. :D Am sooo not gonna be in the way of the travelers.
roflollll.
no way, grin. Rob's knee is a lot better, or so he claims. He still walks with a distinct limp though. But he is a big boy, right?
are they tetchy at all or just excited?
no, pretty relaxed. They have lots of practice. If anything, my love tends to joke even more, lol. We already had a water fight in the bathroom.
absolutely, sprite, and if he thinks he can macho his way through the next 10 days, well let him do ot.
*it*
exactly. Last thing he needs is me mothering him.
(can you tell the inclination is there???)

phantom: sequester
back.

deacon has four mini matches tomorrow between 9am and 3 pm. told son, thanx but no thanx since all four matches are at four different grounds.
oh didn't tell you yet: we are gonna do 'I see Fire' by Ed Sheeran, with singing lessons. The theme song of the Hobbit (Desolation of Smaug). It has at least 4 voices. I love it :D
lol that is undoable, rose. Not healthy for you.
oh, very nice. that will a lot of fun to learn.
yeah and a beautiful song to boot. Am really excited about it.
is the girl still singing with you?
no, she wanted to go learn to dance and it was at the same time, so she decided to put singing lesson on hold for now. Also very busy with school and work and all.
oh and no excuse as of yet!
ahhh. wise of her to pull back a little.
hmmmmm, how is she treating you this morning?
yeah, I thought so too
as if nothing happened, rose.
*rools eyes * yeah, it didn't happen to her so it's not important, right? typical teen.
lolllll * rolls*
egotistical by nature, lol. Well, she can have it her way. I am nice to her, but nothing more.
I think the word should be 'rools', actually. And then insert upturned pupils into the O's.
so how far do you have to drive them this morning ?
*giggle*
not far at all. Two villages further north. I'll be back within the hour, probably.
not too bad then. and you can collapse with a sigh and say... i did it.
hehehe peace and quiet for a whole week!
I must hang up my laundry, brb. Washed my bed linens and I want them right back on my bed tonight, dried outside :D will be back in a few minutes.
* hands sprite a roll of duct tape for the boyo* here dear use it imaginatively...
lol good idea. Back!
wb sweetie
medicines taken, laundry hung out to dry... and lolll as soon as I showed my face... "Sweetheart, do you know where this is? And I'd like to take that, do you know where it is?"
how lovely to be able to dry the sheets out in the fresh air again. the smell of sunshine will be so nice.
oh yes :D Tonight, I will bury my nose in my sheets and smile like silly
correct response...gee, sweetheart i don't know where i put it after you used it last time.
roflollllll I like that one!
and you must be patting all you pockets and checking down the bra while you say it.
even better. Lol!
then you say... nope, not here. have you noticed if i am walking funny ?
I was awake from 4 am :( Good thing I can nap whenever I want!
it is usually t that point that i would get the most ferocious glare, and i would batt my eyelashes and smile sweetly.
*giggles*
honey you can have a week long nap if you want.
Rob would laugh, lol. We stopped fighting about stuff like this a lonnnng time ago. Ever since I told him, quite irritated: "You don't know how to search!" And he answered: "I know very well how to search. I just don't know how to find!"
oh, very droll.... lollll
so now, when something is lost, Rob says: "Honey, I really searched very well for it. Could you please find it for me now?"
sounds like he knows you very well...
yeah he does. And vice versa. Over 20 years together, and been through hell and back in those years. I guess you either get to know eachother very well and learn to accept eachother, or you will divorce.
phantoms: sequester and penchant
Hi all and hugs, rose and sprite
hi Liz! *hugs* for the both of you. How was your day?
Lovely so far, thanks and out for dinner this evening - yum!
oh not bad! Just the two of you, or with friends?
4 of us.
very nice :) Enjoy!
{{hugs}} and hi liz girl
ah good, Liz brings our Rose out of hiding
Have you had a good day Rose
jeez loueez. just letting you flap your gums uniterrupted.... roflollll
nice and quiet here, thanx liz
bad rose. I want to be interrupted.
can't believe I just tried 'hatch'. Dumbo, there is C x 2 and only one H, not the other way around... sigh.
one never knows, some incredible pearl of wisdom may be about to spring forth, and i stop it with something inane like how's the weather.....
I keep wanting to try nacho
yeah well, we all know how likely that is, lol
ok, you had me try it too, Liz. Won't take. :)
*giggling*
Lol
also, with letters like these, I try etna and anoa just for the record. Don't bother, both phantom babblets today.
Thanks - but this time at least I remembered as4
ugh... thanks for that one. Must be one of my worst blind spots.
Mine too usually
now I feel a little better, grin
I have found that in morewords before now :(
there is a pe7, plural only form. it always gets me, i try the singular and of course it's not in the dictionary. duh !! * palm-face*
those throw me off too, rose. Somehow it is hard to remember to enter a plural when the singular does not exist. Heck, it is hard to remember to enter a plural when the singular DOES exist.
I only have one 7 so far but then again I've only got 61 word.
no 7s, no 8, no 9, and 117 words in, lol. About normal for me.
lollll
No 8 or 9 yet
<---- biggie blind
go by feel for the biggies
*cops a feel* Oh my, ruru!
Hi Ru
g'day ruru. how are you, mate?
hi guys
just got in
hi ru :D
dinner out with Doren.. who's visiting out here
ugh, long day ruru. i bet you are exhausted.
welcome! Fun grid today. Oh how lovely! Did you have a good time with her?
Nice
no..i'm good
we had a great time
good reason. how is she?
we talked for hours
Wonderful
wonderful. Another lovely babbler, Dorens. Haven't see her on in ages though.
yeah ??? i had a lunch with a very good friend yesterday. we did the same...lolllll
babble meetups are the best
Funny that! Me too - also yesterday!
Really the BEST
wow liz. what a co-incidence.
Lol
morning all.... Liz.... did P get my email do you know?
hi ro!
Yes but he can't access his emails right now. I saw it on FB And D also told him.
ok... that's fine...thx
hey ya rolin.
Have you got an email addy for him to write to rather than the school?
its been a bad time
sorry to hear that, ro. All the best to you and yours *hug*
do you want to share rolin? if you don't that's okay too. xoxox
thx sprite.... Liz no I don't... I wish I did... so I have just been using fb to pass my condolences...
I think he'll email through the school then
rose...I have had three woman ...all around my age... from where I used to live die of cancer in the lasy three weeks...the last one was a wonderful collegue of mine and of my ex...liz's husband
How was ousted?
Ofsted
so very sorry for your loss, ro...
auto correct strikes again
oh, gosh, rolin. how difficult that must be to go through.
liz... the people were human... which is a plus... I cant say more because there is a school who were actually told they were going from r.i. to good...but when a teacher said this on fb before the report came out...they were downgraded again
it sort of also strikes at your own sense of mortality too. very hard !!
That's awful. I understand. I'm sure you'll be fine. Hope the school too.
rose.... yeah...that's what happened last night...I was sposed to go out... but I had a particular tough day at work as well.. so I just said to my partner I need some lone time..so he and his son went out and left me to myself... I was in bed with pizza and alcohol (I never drink alone usually)... singing along to trashy music...perfect....just what I needed
ah good medicine!
Sounds like a good way to spend that sort of evening.
good way to deal with it, rolin. relax, let the tears fall if they will. good food, good drink, good music. yup sounds good to me. xoxox
liz...just mailed you about it.
and a good long hug from your partner once he comes home
indeed it was.... and what is nice that my partner had no problem leaving me to it...
Just read it. Thanks
he sounds like a one in a million, rolin.
lol.... he's good for me...
good for him. Sounds like a keeper to me
most men want to hang around and 'fix' things.
he's a lovely guy.
yeah Liz... we both came out of it ok eh?
ok, I have to go. Time to drop off my spouse and kid. *hugs* and maybe till later.
Definitely
liz's husband is Rolin's ex-husband?
Have a good day sprite. Hugs.
This is like a soap opera
Yes, Ru
wow
sprite, take it easy, sweetie. enjoy your ME time. xoxox
yes ru
wow
It's great and we're all friends
bye sprite
*giggle* pick up you jaw ruru, or you may trip over something.
well.. you do live several continents away from each other :D
we used to all live in England...and not so far away from each other tho Ro
Ru...I'm Ro...lol
But we stay with each other when on the same continent
wow.. that's really cool
and one day we'll be neighbours (in aussie terms) again
It blows some people's minds.
actually liz...when you think about it...we will live about as far from you as we were in england
Yes in a lovely area!
<--mine
That's very true. It'll blow their minds at Gallery Cafe!
hey there!
hi doren.. jeez you're up late :D
Hi Dorens- sounds like you've had a lovely evening.
hah! Still jazzed from the best dinner of my entire life!
at least we wont have to think where to meet up for a lunch...or morning tea...or afternoon tea...or anything..lol
hey dorens. nice to see you. how was your dinner?
Ha!
The to get ready - going out for dinner tonight. Hugs all.
enjoy...
Very true Ro. No question
oh what a dinner. You've heard about it? Ruru knows wine; ruru knows food.
enjoy your evening liz girl. xoxox to you both
With R and D
no.. I just said that we had dinner together and talked for hours
not this R and D. :-(
Ru, the menu didn't include a couple of things. and hi to liz, rolin, and grannyrose
oh really... I didn't know they were there.....lmao
hi dorens
They're not! We are!
say hi to them
I will.
ooooh you're there....oh cool
*my brain just went inton overdrive*
welcome to my life rose...lol
<------- collapsing with laughter
About to send you a pic Ro, really bye now!
is it possible for a brain to go into underdrive?
rolin, ask liz to explain.
sure.. just think of George Bush doren
did he have one?
sorta
I'm not that bright.. but I do know how to walk through doors
hah!
we could still be there talking though :D
for goodness sake!! himself is out in the garage and it is pitch dark. he has the light on int he garage. does he turn on the outside light between the garage and the house?? nooooo....you can almost hear the static from where i am sitting...
no, at this point I am best not trying to sit up. the bed is comfy and i'm tired. more than halfway so I really should be sleeping. Night all
night doren.. see you tomorrow
sweet dreams dorens. glad you had such a nice evening.
ruru ??? two days running ??? you two will be exhausted.... lolll
yep.. dinner tomorrow too.
we're pals
it's nice to see, ruru. some people cannot be just pals... they have to twist it into something more. don and i were pals for a long time.
we're just friends. we have a lot of interests in common. she's a very cool person
so what's for dinner tomorrow night?
tomorrow is shrimp cocktails with a horseradish panna cotta, and likely pork chops and more wine
this place specializes in great pork
they also do great fish and pasta too
<--------- loves pork. just not allowed to have it. :-(. it makes don sick.
oh.. too bad
I eat it fairly often.. I have cut back on Beef
we eat a lot of fish and chicken. red meat just the twice/week.
we regularly dine out at a smorgasboard resto. they have a fantastic carvery. i go sick on the roast pork.
they make the best crackling.
and all the dressings and sauces and gravies are made in-house.
What is crackling
the skin on the outside of the roast of pork. you make cuts in the skin with a very sharp knife, and rub salt into it. the first half hour or so when the temperature is quite high, the skin bubbles and crisps . it so yummy.
Oh. That sounds good
i am very naughty as i love the taste of the cooked fat under the skin. when i come over i will cook it for you.
rur, sort of like the rind off bacon. when you fry it up after it has been removed from the rasher.
okay i am talking to the trees... lollll
Sorry fell asleep . Night
lol... ruru...sweet dreams mate
Last two co 6/27 and re 7/40 - clues please

oay, gran has gone. i am guessing she found the last two. WTG GRAN!!!!
*okay*
i hope i am not sounding to sour... but recognition of whether or not my clues helped would be nice.
Rose, if I didn't alrealy have those two words your clues would have given them to me :) FYI Gran seems to be a hit and run asker. I've also clued her with no response.
back
xoxox dianne. and wb sprite dear. dinner on.
sprite, my darling friend. have you taken a long, deep breath?
hehehe yes I have. And waved them out. Girl did not apologise and, it figures, is now insulted that I have the nerve to be angry at her, lol. Puberty...
oh and no, you don't sound sour. It is not pleasant when you clue for someone and they don't acknowledge it at all.
awww spritey. * hugs and kisses in abundance *
yeah, not fun. Ah well, a whole week without fights... I hope... ;)
like i said... here's a large roll of duct ta4.
*tapes up mouth, hands and... no, not the feet. He can walk to his friends*
nah... let him roll...xoxox
actually,. when it is just me and the boyo, he behaves very well
oh, yeah ?? so it is rivalry !! poor Rob.
yeah, the old stag and the young buck. Mostly.
but also, when it is just the two of us, there aren't that many chores and I don't insist on eating at a certain time.
poor you !!! in the midst of it all....
ah well, rose, in the large scheme of things... this is minor. As long as we are all relatlively healthy and whole, and we have a roof over our heads... we don't have much to complain about.
doesn't keep us from complaining, of course, lollll
poor spite. xoxox to you darling. timer as gone off. dinner ready. bbs.

Good morning, my friends:)

How, are you this fine day?
ahhhh, there he is....
I am here, just not firing on all cylinders yet:)
crossy, i am just absolutely fine. how are you and the lovely elegant??
My beloved is well, but she will sleep for hours yet--my little nightbird:)
*yanks on crossy's starter handle *
lol
don is worried over how many hours i sleep...
i seem to have entered my second teenager-hood... lolll
Well your new infusions must play havoc with your sleep patterns
the infusions seem to put me into the normal patterns...and himself is so not used to them.
I am glad that they are helping you manage your pain.
so am i crossy. i didn't realise that the pain was so bad.
it is amazing what the human body can endure and can consider the new normal when it comes to pain and discomfort. you do not realize the true hell you were living with until it is over.
absolutely crossy. after the first infusion, i had a headache. it took me a couple of hours to recognise it. very strange.
Good morning.
g'day sukee
Hi Rose
is all good with you, sukee ??
So so, was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday and I feel tired this morning with a low grade headache.
But, it's going to be a beautiful day here today.
ugh, my dear. not good.
are you planning so outside activities, sukee ??
* some *
No really, other than cleaning up my balcony.
So, the new Royal baby has been born.
sukee, a short walk in the sunshine will do wonders to your psycohlogical status.
yes, a girl......
Of course they would have a boy and a girl...
poor kid.... will probably end up with a string of names...
I hope Diana isn't one, that would not be fair on the child.
50/50.....
i bet elizabeth is one....
and victoria.... and probably anne... poor kid.
They even mentioned Alice.
alice ??? where did that come from ??
She was one of Victoria's grandchildren who died in the 80s.
I think the Queen's second cousin :)
okaaaay. well that may be an option.
Achoo! Been doing a bit of that today :)
I swear, I get through winter without a cold and now I think I'm in for one.
quite different...poor little mite.
ugh... a spring cold... yuch...
I do tend to get colds when the weather changes. Better get out my neti pot.
AN words. I am hating them.
Hi Matty.

You'd better duck Joseph
duck, duck, goose?
And I supposed Maj Jongg is for the elderly too
no, Mah Jongg is AWESOME
Mah Jongg, the game played by Chinese men and Jewish women
I thought Bunco was the game of Jewish women
Ha Ha Ha
you can't compare ca7 and mah jongg, they're apples and mandarin oranges
LOL
You're so witty
Nothing like a good fruit joke to liven up a saturday morning
I guess the birth of a princess has made us giddy
It cracks me up that people in America are so fascinated with the royals.
We don't have any of our own. We got rid of the royals and we are regretting it ever since
What's the 9?
Regretting it? Are you serious?
st9/66,pluralof the t8/50
plural of the st8/50. sorry, keys sticking
well I kind of figured the st wasn't the plural of a t :)
*Hands LBD the alcohol and q-tips*
thanks Molly, but I think it's IN the electronics, as it doesn't happen all the time to the same keys. :(
Molly, I think that secretly, Americans wish they had royalty like the Brits do

Good day kids!
Bravo Scrabs for your Good Samaritan act
I am glad I was there to help her. Someone else probably would have stopped although many cars drove by when I was there.
I was talking to Mr. Bich about it. He is a Wilderness First Responder. He said the first thing to do is to secure the scene so there is not another accident
She veered across the road and crashed into the guard rail on the other side, on a downhill road with a curve to the right, 3/4 mile rom my house.
That is great for Mr Bichon. I have considered attending Wilderness Medicine courses.
Definitely worthwhile. He spent 10 days at the school in Conway NH and talks about it constantly
I get brochures in the mail and think about taking the course.
The Sierra Club paid for it as he runs service trips for them
I am a SC member.
This year he is leading a trip to Tuolomine Meadows and to the Upper Panhandle of Idaho
'morning, all
hi welki, what's up with you
Hi Welki!
I wish I could afford to retire and just hike, kayak, and mountain bike all over the US.
trying to stop procrastinating and start housework. ugh.
I'm retired, but I don't do anything energetic any more
mr. bich will be less than four hours away from me - beautiful country, that part of idaho
We are having a glorious weekend so I want to be outside soon.
Bichon, you chase your grandchildren.
Same here, 80 by Monday
Yes, it's not far from the Canadian border. He was there the last two years
bbs
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!!
On one episode of "Price Is Right," an elephant was offered as a "bonus prize." The contestant won, insisted on the prize, and a live elephant from Kenya had to be delivered to him.
True story?
seems so. I have not "snoped" it, but it can be researched I suppose.
yes, it happened in 1956
Bill Cullen was the host at the time
An elephant is one pet I woud not want.
Think of cleaning up when out on "walkies"
I am even amazed with horse owners.
Well, that why the gigantic steaming mound of horse manure is placed behind the barn in the winter:)
Perhaps they let it get covered in snow and turn it into a toboggan run:)
My finances have never allowed me to become one of the "horsey set" :)
In the last 2 weeks the local farmers have spread cow manure in the fields and the smell has been brutal.
Yup. same here.
Holland Marsh will be going full tilt:)
I have seen it often in my travels , but it is still a remarkable place
it is well protected. Too many people have tried to sneak in and just grab a pick-up truck of soil. lol
I just read about Holland Marsh--specialty soil.
yup. they believe that glaciers during the last ice age stopped here and dumped their load of nutrient-rich soil
Interesting.
I finally passed halfway and have had enough of this grid. Off to the shower and then to get sweaty and grubby doing yardwork.
tc scrabby
Greetings, y'all!

Type A (driven) personalities are the ones who don't go back to bed once up. They feel driven to be productive.
i went to several.
Then I am type Z molly, clearly

I can be driven and productive when it's called for. I also understand the luxury of going back to bed once in a while.

Fruity, Spring-like drinks with umbrellas for the girly-girls...straight shots of something good for the serious drinkers.
Mine's a pint of a hoppy real ale, please :)
One British pint for the Union Jack flying lady
Cheers! Bottoms up (I'm actually drinking tea at the moment, just to perpetuate the stereotype)
Oh I can't say anything about drinking tea. I get written up for that.
Written up? How...?
mm.. a nice cuppa sounds like a grand idea:)
*looks for Biscuits*
That is crumpets if you please:)
scones with lots of clotted cream and jam
(that was for the Brit there crossie*
or some nice Peak Freans
or a bacon sammich:)
The phrase "clotted cream" always brings to mind such awful images
what's a peak frean?
A brand of cookie
oh
Also referred to as a biscuit
They make real good digestive or shortbread cookies
<---learns something new here everyday
Hope you don't get anything clotted in your digestive
I seperate biscuits and cookies into two distinctive catagories... just to be a pain
people who like clotted cream must have arterial motives
because one is to make to have with dinner and the other is a sweet snack treat.. lol, good one , ru
Peak Frean...biscuit...which is why it's a slang term for a promiscuous woman : D
oh well -- what's not to like about cream? -- almost as good as chocolate
how odd:)
<--will look askance at a girl scout next time they hit me up on cookie drives
Same as using "tart" for the same purpose, I guess
they used to call promiscuous women biscuits??
Girl Scout cookies...smaller, more expensive, not as good as they used to be. Sad.
*watches mr. Pilsbury turn over in his grave*
that will be soon ruru -- it's been a couple of months. Or is it the kids raising money for band trips that's next?

*Sigh* everything is out sourced. Which is why our economy is in the toilet.

Oh nuts!

*Dumps coffee and refills it with coffee and single malt whiskey
atta girl!!
I'm due for an Irish Whiskey in SF one of these days
Didn't you already have a serious issue with a restaurant serving you nuts?
yeah.. it's kind of a constant issue. I didn't bring my epipen last night either..
You need a t-shirt that says NUTTY, BUT DON'T SERVE ME NUTS
ha
That is why I avoid shopping at wal-mart. Last time I was in there I saw the big sign that said " store contains 20% locally produced items at all times," so I spent a full hour trying to find anything that was made in Canada. I finally found a package of pencils. I Told this to the manager and he said "The building materials used to construct the store are at least 20% Canadian, so we are not guilty of false advertising" I have never been back. I make it my mission to buy things made locally to avoid perpetuating foreign sweat shops.
I love the reaction when I tell the server.. please keep nuts away from me unless you guys enjoy a floor show
Shame, shame, always have that epipen at hand
had a driver ... left it in the car
The world is a better place with you in it.
Of course all the electronics I use are made overseas, but i do what I can:))
awww shucks
Oooo, a driver
don't applaud, just throw money:)
yeah.. too much wine to drive .. didn't want to take a chance
most everything is, crossy -- was trying to find some shrimp the other day that didn't come from china, vietnam or indonesia -- no luck
Good for you, for being safe. So many people don't do that.
*politely claps for crossy.. throws him a peak frean*
I kinda knew it would be a lot of wine going in.
*smacks head* a babblet!!
Well, at least they didn't serve you any digestive clotted peak frean cookie biscuits.
LOL
it was pretty good
Can anyone tell me anything about the st8 and 9? (Also, the st6/21)?
you should have a cream tea sometime molly - bet you would love it!
*english cream tea
st 6/21 sounds like a pile of books with an extra vowel
Oh probably not. I don't drink tea and I drink my coffee black. I save cream for whipping and putting on desserts.
I don't have a st 8 or 9
s + musical piece for the st 8-9
don't have the st 6/21 either
clotted cream is very similar to whipped cream
Thanks - got the 8 and 9, still looking for the six...

Oh no, Ru was stood up again. : (
ha.. kje was looking for coffee shops :D
no.. I was just teasing.
i hate this grid
I suspect that has more to do with the amount of wine consumed last night than it does the grid itself...

yes, a girl
good to know.
nobody mentioned it at the farmer's market in montana today. I have to rely on Babble for the really important news.
:)
You don't watch news or look at news on the internet?
I do, but hadn't seen any news since last night when it said she was in labor.
that's not correct harp
she was actually in Labour
Oh! Colour my wourld with stouries about labour.
really? i thought she was a tory? (ducking)
well...to quote Rod Stewart on this: Every picture tells a Tory
Mourning Gloury
oh dear....
*Cheques to see if my spelling is corrourect
I'm actually glad I'm not going to be Queen of England, ever.
The royalty thing is so over done.
I can't imagine the stress that puts on a child.
LOL
I would think it would be a crowning achievement by the parents
Crouwning
Delighted that all went well for the Royal Mum and her new baby. I'm a bit alarmed that she left hospital less than 12 hours after giving birth. She is hardly going home to change the sheets on her bed and look after her toddler. I would imagine her early discharge from hospital could put pressure on other (less cossetted Mums) to do likewise. Nonetheless, I wish them all the very best.
And hello all!
I left the hospital less than 12 hours after giving birth. Hospitals are dirty, germy places for mother and baby. (Sorry, we don't call them "Mums" here)
Hi Soodle. I am glad it was a safe arrival too.
Hi soodle!
what do you call mothers then Molly? They are Mums here
In the States, the general rule seems to be "spend as little time as possible in hospitals"
Mothers
so what is wrong with Mums?
Hi Bugs :-) (((Jane)))) My trio were brought into the world via C Section, so I guess I associate a couple of days R&R with childbirth. LOL
Nothing is wrong with Mums. I was just explaining why I used the term "mothers" instead of Mums.
The nice thing about different cultures is that things are done differently in other places. We dod not all aspire to be Americans.
No one thinks you need to aspire to be Americans.
Ok. I stand corrected.
After my first was born, I couldn't wait to get home. After the second, I was happy enough to linger in the hospital. With the third, I was clinging to the bedpost, saying, 'NO, NO, Let me stay...
It always sounds polite and quaint, to hear the way people put things in another country. "We'll have a wee bit of craic with my mum...."
That's just the way my ear hears it.
lol Soodle, my sister and niece both had the same experience with their C sections!
Quaint, that is exactly the way it sounds Harp.
Ha Ha, Jane!! You picked that up on your trip to Ireland!!!
yes jane. In our hospitals the nurses refer to Mums. It is the same in schools.
1 left, a five letter s.....
well done jane
I think we Americans sound rude and uncouth without meaning to, when we are being our regular old selves in another country.
I even feel that way in Canada.
I don't think we sound rude and uncouth at all.
Although, the vernacular here for mothers is 'Mammy' which is ludicrous!
Ah, there it is! I missed a plural!
see you at the flip!
YAY harpjane
I work with a forty year old chap. He still lives at home with his parents (God help us) and still refers to his parents as Mammy and Daddy. Its excruciating.
Bye Har
Bye Har
Bye Har
og it's soodle
Sorry.
I hven't been on for a couple of days
Are you back fro espage?
RUBY!!!!
Oh Heaven help us. 40 plus and living at home.
I followed you trip with your talented daughter too Soodle. So glad you could make more happy memories together!
I am, Rubes, and I know I owe you an email. How are you? How is Burt?
Ah, Bugs, It was just a blast! I enjoyed every single second of it.
I've been sick as the proberbiql dog but \I think I've turned the corner
And now my son is coming I about 3 weeks AND I AM NOT READY
poor ruby. what did you have?
Oh no. Is it still the pleurisy?
yes plus horrible side effects from the meds
Oh dear, someone else to criticize how you live your life.
I had that. It is horrible.
I warned my son that I wouldn't be much fu but, as he's coming alone, I think it will be less pressure than usual
And I told him not to expect much of mom's home cooking
I think he mostly wants to micycle around the ake
Fine with me
bicycle
Kids come to see their parents Ruby. Not to be entertained. Relax and let him spoil you for a bit.
I can always hope, but the last visit was awful, as |Molly knows
Aw Rubes, I am so sorry to hear that you are unwell. As for John - As Bugs says.. allow him to spoil you. Not the other way round.
Oh Ruby, I wish he spoiled you when he came to visit.
What Molls said!
Maybe he will, this time, since he knows I've been ill. Perhaps that's why he's coming
that was the way I was thinking ruby. Kids can often be insensitve but then they spin around and do something SO loving just to keep you off guard. Like they did when they were little.
He's only become the occasional pita since he got arried
Ruby, you are up very late. Are you having trouble sleeping?
It's the first tie \I've been able to sit up without much discofort
Think good thoughts Ruby. And it it's the same as all the other times, lesson learned.
still can't type -- oh well
Said one "up very late" to another. : D
((((Rubes))))
The only good thing that comes out of all of this is how wonderful my local friends and neighbors have been, doing shopping, errands, etc.
I had better go up to joi Mr. Personality. He's been suffering, too, probably wondering how he couldn't anage in this strange land without e lol
Well, that is a credit to you, Ruby. Clearly, your friends and neighbours are very fond of you. Take a bow!
Wow, that is great Ruby. Not many people have neighbors who are that helpful.
Oops, neighbours. Soury.
LOL Molls!
All the misconceptions about the French, at least the small town ones, were wrong These are the nicest, warmest, women I've ever known. And I've lived in small American tows before
Molly is bi-lingual, English and English
Good night everybody.
Good night everybody.
Get some rest Ruby. I hope your son is kind to his "Mum" when he visits. : D
xx Nellie the K
Rubes, I'll try to give you a call tomorrow. Son of Soodle is home this weekend, so things are a bit chaotic, but I'll try. Take care. X
It's funny, I don't even know what he calls me.....it used to be Mommy but at 51, I somehow doubt it
Ooo, that must mean a full on Irish breakfast tomorrow.
Good, Soodle, but as I'm going nowhere, you can wait 'til Paul leaves.
I haven't eaten solid food since Wednesday, just starting to get hungry again
Yup! the full Irish is on the menu for the morning. Mind you, usually,Son of Soodle is so seedy he is unable to eat, but that never stops his 'Mammy' pulling out all the stops...
*Throws crumbs at starving Ruby*
Oh, good Mammy, makes breakfast for hungover offspring.
Or is it ouffspring?
And hungover offspring usually turn greenish, and bolt for the bathroom when said breakfast is presented. But it doesn't stop me from doing it all over again the next time. Sigh.
Oh my, terrible waste of food.
Nah. The dog loves those mornings! And those of us who are not hungover love those mornings. So it's OK.
Nah. The dog loves those mornings! And those of us who are not hungover love those mornings. So it's OK.
Sorry for the double posts.
It is a nervous twitch, soodle
Ah, Jaxx! Nice to see you, my dear!
Thanks, soodle. How goes it?
pe7....clue please
Writing utensil + consumed food and pl
Comme ci, comme ca! I had the most wonderful holiday. And then I came back, and it was as if I had never been away. I got plunged straight back into all the sh*t that I had managed to avoid for a week.
Pe + a bunch of mr. Hawthornes
And you, Jaxx? How are things in your camp?
I have knobbly nodules!
ty jaxx and ruru....I had tried the singular so many times and it didn't work!
Hiya Ru. I see you had a lovely meet up with Dorens. Yay for Babble meet-ups.
We had a nice time.
Excellent!
We finished eating about midnight
Are you ignoring my knobbly nodules?
This is the result of the scans - knobbly nodules
Jaxx, I searched the grid twice. There ARE no K's. The only knobbly nodules I know about are knobbly knees, and there are none in the grid.
Not a word, soodle , it is me who has knobbly nodules. lol
LOL. Sorry, Penny has just dropped. Golly. Knobbly nodules? Sounds exotic!
Inside said nodules are cysts apparently
Are you hooking up with Dorens again this evening, Ru?
That sounds unpleasant, Jaxx. Are they treatable?
By an operation
Oh no. Where are these blasted knobbly nodules?
On my thyroid
So, when are you having the surgery?
The NHS moves very slowly these days. I have an appointment with the consultant at the end of May.
Yes dinner tonight too. A lower key restaurant though
...will send knobbly knees to england to be worked on at the same time...
Note to self.... When I win the Lottery, Ruru will be on my list of visitees....
Good idea. I could hide behind you and let you have the knobbly nodules removed instead.
Well, at least thats only the end of the month, Jaxx. Waiting lists in this neck of the woods are 3, 4 or 5 years long...
waiting for the op comes after that. I don't think we are talking years but you never know
I shall just be glad to have a few weeks without some sort of test. Then they wonder why my BP is so high.
Jaxx, good to catch up with you. Ru, enjoy your dinner with Dorens, and please pass on my best wishes to her. Molly & Ruby.. I'll email you both. And everybody else, sorry to have hijacked the chog. I'm off to bed now, so it's back to business as usual.
Sweet dreams, soodle
