I don't really consider it work most days. I love my job as a rule
like me when i was working. it didn't matter what the outside world chucked at me, when i got to work i always enjoyed it. even with the overtime and on-call work.
I think if one is lucky to love their profession.. it never feels like work.
I'm very lucky that way.
with me it was never knowing what the next challenge was going to be. i loved how my job constantly made me think. there was never anything 'normal' about it.
sure.. I get that.. you never knew what life and death thing was going to be thrown at you. I don't think that quickly on my feet.. so I'd have sucked as a ER person
it was one of the first things i learned in theatre. there is no such thing as a routine patient. everyone of them wakes up differently, reacts to the drugs differently. it was a constant weighing up the facts, sifting through the facts in your brain, and then coming to the correct way to treat this particular person. like i said... i loved my job.
brb, just realised DH has gone back outside without a pullover on.
yeah.. and for me everyone reacts to wine differently.. constantly choosing the right wines once I have the facts in my brain and the right wine for the gullet of the person :D

My experience comes from being an Administrator on discussion forums when the internet first came alive. I saw many scams like the ones that have happened here. And many fake posters who knew how to garner the attention of other people in the group.

you can get a ferry to france for about £15 But to get from the Isle of Wight to the mainland will cost you with a car about £60 for a return ticket that only lasts the weekend..will cost a lot more if you want to saty on the mainland longer. the stretch of water is only about a mile or so.

i am keeping my fingers crossed here for luck. My daughter has been promoted at work and she has been having a battle with the taxman. he has given in and she has a wad of back pay.
No to the surgery but they have found knobbly nodules on my thyroid that will have to be removed. I have an appointment with the surgeon at the end of the month.
Well that is certainly great news on the $ front! That must life a world of weight from your shoulders. Your poor family seems to have to battle for everything.
Thyroid issues are failrly common apparently. I know lots of people who live just the way they want after surgery.
I am just hoping that she doesn't get carried away and spend everything. It is quite a large amount and would make a nice nest egg
