can't find any p's beyond 15.. urg
They're all pretty usual words - but I guess that doesn't help
Can tell you how many of each combination if you'd like - but it's probably too early to help you!
got them.. finished now
Told you they weren't difficult
Congrats
well done ruru. You are a whiz at this
I'm totally in awe of all those who finish so quickly - without using lickety or similar.
Me too Liz. Others use the list but still finish faster than I can type
I listed at 20 left - now down to 5 - it's a really nice grid.
I have been stuck on simple p's for a long time.. duh ohhhh
hi bugs
Babble blindness - unusual for you.
did you see jilli's post ? She cc'd me on it.> since I don't do facebook
and yet you found 7 of them in one minute to finish
once I figured it had to be pl words.. they fell into place
I should go look. I don't do Facebook regularly.
I don't do facebook ever
but it's cute
It was so much fun. The colour of the dessert wine was exquisite, even if we didn't drink it!
you didn't drink it?
it was perfect with the berries and the brulee
I drank it for sure! but I loved the colour so much it was hard to swallow
I loved the berries and brulee. I have never had better in my life.
I can't remember a more stunning dessert wine than that wine.. for many years. The color was gorgeous
I was happy with the brulee..the rest of the dinner was ok
I see from the post that Jill had no trouble polishing off any left overs. hee hee
ha... That's why I made extra.. so she wouldn't grumble about the dishes for weeks :D
You were under such pressure creating that meal. We both thot it was tremendous
We brought some of the beet salad home and it only got better with age. Perfect for a hot day.
thanks.. I can do better.. but I tried my best with the limitations I had.
and you were successful, so don't beat yourself up. I will never forget the Nun of the Above. So fast and so clever!
I really love that beet salad.. I created that for some veggie friends once.. they loved it
:D that was a good pun.. I love making jilli wince with bad puns :D
Hello gang!
If you share recipies, I would like that on and the brulee.
hey!!! the Star!!.. Hi jilli
Hey Jilli! We were just talking about you and all the dishes you had to do.
Here's to ruru, he's true blue Generous guy and great chef too.
Hi Jilli - how lovely to see you. I was just salivating at Ru's and Bug's description of the lovely food he made.
Did you see the menu?
ixnay on the dishesnay bugs
No - just reading about the beet salad and brulee
the brulee came out great.. torch or no torch
I love brulee
And I did find the ruddy torch, hidden in a cupboard -- perfectly logica;l pl;ace.
this one is lighter and fluffier and not as dense
Jill sent a picture of where she found the torch and I still couldn't see it for a long time. It was well hidden
LOL - that's always the way, Jilli
although the same amount of calories
It was creamier than any brulee I have had before.
That sounds ideal - fewer calories would be even better but not as tasty.
I can't wait to come back to BC.. it was so much fun.. maybe this fall.
Well, considering it contained 18% cream and whipping cream I'm not surprised.
You should do the drive through the Rockies some time Ru - stunning.
Ru -- come back for the Fall Fair, mid-September.
I'll think about it.. have to time it with work
I totally ignored the idea of calories and went to appreciate the explosions of flavours. Things blended so well, the wines were superb and the company was fun. Such a good time.
lots of earthy flavors in the food
Sleep well all of you - really happy to have seen you again, Jilli. You're missed here.
The Rockies are stunning Lizlin. My favourite drive is the road between Banff and Jasper.

That's a beautiful area Bugs - I did that trip on a tour with Scenic 2 years ago.
That's the Athabasca Parkway, I think.
And now I'm really outta here - need some food :)
I must head out too. Too many words are hiding tonight.
I'm heading to bed too.. good night all
This was the first draft of the menu, with wine pairings: First course: Seared Ocean Scallops on crispy potatoes, with fried olives, arugula and white truffle oil 2009 Didier Dagueneau Silex Main Course: Grilled or oven roasted Lamb Loin chops on wilted greens and shallots, with a mushroom compote, butter vegetables (whatever looks good) and oven roasted Garlic sage potatoes. 2007 Michel Lafarge Volnay Clos des Chenes 2007 Chateau Rayas Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge Sides: Tri-color Beet salad with blue cheese, oranges, endive, and a balsamic vinaigrette Dessert: Huckleberry or blueberry crème brulee 2001 Chateau Doisy-Danes Sauternes "cuvee extravagance"

hello dear friend. What's up with don?
{{hugs}} and good morning sprite. don is getting scalp cramps. we are going to try alternating hot and cold to see if we can break the spasm.
aw poor man :(
how are you sweetie?

rob is gone all day, visiting a canoe mate who is gonna help him fix up his wood/canvas canoe. So I have to do some shopping. I hate shopping, and even more so on saturdays, lol.
lollll. ikr? we drove through the carpark of our local supermarket this morning. and don said.. i didn't know it was christmas! it was absolute bedlam.
exactly. Well put!
I will have to go by bike, rob having the car. All for the better though, since finding a parking spot is hell on saturdays anyway.
good idea sprite.
or I can send out one of the kids. Hmmmm that might be even better.
yay for the kids!! nice of them to volunteer.

yes, she needs us all. I dropped her a few lines too yesterday and her reply showed a lot of courage and also the need for support from her friends
thanx for passing that on sprite.

I don't know Annie. Ask the old guys in plaid shorts and black socks & sandals on the shuffleboard court who created the Enable Word List.
Molly, aha, I wonder if they use the product in your profile

hello dear friends
Hi Ru, did you have your brekkies yet? Going for walkies later? ((((((((Ru)))))))))
Molly, I think you and I should save up some money and fly out to see ruru.
hi all. 32 left.
just finished scrubbing two bathroom floors and doing one load of laundry
hi and good morning. I sent ruby an email, but I haven't heard back
is ruby's email in her profile?
No brekkies yet
Well, when you do have brekkies, I'm sure it will be epic.
well.. to be honest.. .I was hoping for other things in my life to be epic.. and not just brekkie
That is the most important epic
en6/7(the second set ).....clue please
switch a couple letters around from the previous aeb
tyvm ruru!

I found an insect last night. I wonder what else is in store?
Oh, I found two insects.
what are the insects?
Cereal? Just cereal? No creamery butter? No farm fresh bacon and eggs?
a4 and n4
no.. I was lazy and didn't go shopping yesterday
technically, I found two COLLECTIONS of insects.
nbt nbs finally
I'm not sure if this is babble or National Geographic
Harp is Dr. Doolittle
When I read National Geographic I'm always spelling the words.....
I looked at a Travel magazine at the airport and saw a picture of a tanrec
I recognize toea now. And nene.
I have eggs..but am out of toast.. got to have toast with eggs
Or soft boiled eggs with toast soldiers!!!
toast soldiers?
that's a new one on me
It's what little kids call strips of toast you use to dip in soft boiled eggs. Kind of like the word "boobies". It's from the under six set.
the only boobies I know are in the Galapagos Islands
has anyone heard from ruby since yesterday?
soldiers.. I'll have to remember that.. that's pretty funny.. must be an East Coast thing
i'd never heard the term 'toast soldiers' until some people in rec.foods.cooking brought it up a couble months ago. All in the midwest.
um ruby?
yes.. just did...bichon
ruru, not this part of the east coast, not in the Northeast nor in Ohio
I thought toast soldiers was a Brit thing.
cant
ah.. that could be sallyds.. the brits have cute names for everything
Brits and Canadians (wannabe Brits) use the term toast soldiers.
Toast soldiers dipped in a boiled egg yum yum!!
I think though in Oakland if you called a cop a Bobbie.. he'd beat the crap out of you
I can't eat runny eggs..
Depends on what part is runny.
ca 7/36
Sure they'd rather be a bobby here than a pig!!Did you know the white cars with the red stripes police use are called jam sandwiches!!
ca 7 ..no hat
no.. didn't know that either deeha
oh..it is Bobby
is the te8 a compound word?
Only nasty people in the US refer to police officers as pigs. That is not a commonly used phrase for them.
ty ru
te 8, not a compound but a common ending in this grid
got it, thanks!
But we do refer to polices as the cops
that's from the British copper
what I call an Officer depends on if I get a ticket or not :D
Cop is actually a shortened version of constable on patrol.
I usually use sir or officer
These days, I call them all "young man" : D
wow.. cop trivia
LOL Molly
Help with the se6 please?
Here is an interesting but useless fact!! Not about police! Do you know why there are always robins on Christmas cards???
Oh sorry, didn't mean to trounce on the tidbits, songs, comic strips, quotes of the day.
why?
no..why deeha?
Robins on Christmas cards is a British thing.
Because Victorian postmen had red waistcoats and they were called 'robins' - and the tradition started. boom boom!!
usually the only red breasts I see are at nudist beaches
lol
I always appreciate an adult male who uses the word "breasts". Tits, boobies and ta-tas gets old fast.
I hate bosooms
I like breasts
well... I do!...
I have to figure that a man who uses the term "boobies" gets a huge fail in the bedroom.
Hello :-). Ru? Huggies????
I've just seen Jill's FB post about your vist, Ru. You are cordially invited to my place anytime.
well... just a little joke
It was fun up in old BC.. we all had a great time together.
Very impressive. :-)
what was impressive?
the dinner?
The menu, the wines, the fact that you cooked....
no.. it came out ok.. it could have been better..the wines were great.. that's for sure
Any man who vistits, brings wine with him & cooks a fabulous dinner is always welcome Chez Soodle.
ah ok.. I'll remember that
:-)
the funny thing was someone asked me if I ate like that all the time and I responded doesn't everyone?
A zippy little sports car, likes diogs, an abundance of grey matter, single, can cook - Ru, you must be top of America's Eligible list!
I don't think so..
The zippy little sports car seems to be helping though :D
ruru...you and your type would be at the top of my list!
Enough of this Ru Appreciation stuff. I'll quit while I'm ahead....
good idea soodle

hey ru
well your last post was a whole lot about nothing
I didn't mean to post, was embarrasded to see it, must have leaned on the keyboard while on the phone. Sorry
Everyone has been asking about you. I hope you have support right now and help.
Yes, everyone is very supportive and kind and neighbors and friends here are being wonderful.
I'll get through this!
yes. you will.
Hey Rubes!

I think this group is wonderful, truly supportive and genuinely concerned.
Ruby: I got through the second round and so will you.
Only cos we love ya!!!!!
was the treatment different the second time?
Not really. Chemo and surgery. Fun, of course, but not unbearable.
When were you diagnosed, Sally?
The second time about 5 years ago. The first time 15 years ago. There is no end of entertainment. ;)
Good that you see the funny side. :-)
Sally is brave and lucky to be in Rochester!
What other side is available?
True that!
I'm not quite getting the funny side yet, maybe a little later....
Sure you will, Rubes....
Hang in there. Good medicine in France I'm told.
I'm sorry - I have to go. Hugs all round. (((())))

Hello
There's a word used in 1984 in the grid. "If there is any hope..."
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!!-- There are more barrels of whiskey than there are people in the state of Kentucky.
And how do you feel about that?
I feel theat they should share
that
And as for hope--this is Babble: "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."

Hi Crossy, said hi last night but my computer would not connect and send the message. I wasn't being standoffish, but I was not getting my message of hi to you.
Howdy, atidgmere:-)
Not to worry; I know your computer was being buggy last night:-)
Stidgmere*
Hello crossy and stidgemere etc. cross, Flosey was the big celebrity at our mimit meet up here last weekend because she had met you. We all want to.
Howdy, Bugsaw:-)
We do want to do a northern meet up.
Joso and i both fondly recall our meet withFlosey
I would like to go too stidge. There are kinds of good people who live on the east coast and even more accross the pond
Although the breakfast they served at thatvrestaraunt was not worthy of Flosey. Next tie it will be a Crossy breffast!
She is so gracious isn't she?
Sorry i have issues typing on this tablet
Mr Flosey is a riot and she just sits there and is his comic foil.
She has old time claasic manners nd grace that is seldom seen anymore
She does.
See the pic of the three of us on my web site. Por qoman is surrounded by beef!
Poor woman*
She said you two were both as nice in person as you are on line.
:)
I just wished that I could have cooked for her
I think she has family there. She could be back.
But I would love to come one day and be waited on. I am so good at that!
Lol. You are more than welcome
I am trying to drag scrabby up here this summer for a hike on the mountain
Bugs, we want to wait on you and Mr. Bugs this summer. Hearing rumors.
Yes I plan to come down for a few days at the beginning of July stidge. Not sure about Mr Bugs. I have to see if he will be happy leaving his projects.
Oh, very nice!! I understand about men and their hobbies.
Have to give us our hobbies or we get up to dickens:-)
Hobbies are pretty good things to have. When it becomes more adictive, then not so good.
Crossy, Mr Bugs always has a good time when I prod him to leave the safety of his projects but he is so shy it is never easy so I try not to do it too often. I have already made him attend 2 functions in 2 months
You are doing well at 1 per month:-)
Tell him that i xan put him on the guest list for my speech at the end of this month:-)
My husband is so good about helping at our music functions. What are you speechifying about crossy?
Tell me about your speech, please
I am valdictorian for the graduating class of 2015 this year:-)
Oh, congratulations crossy!! I am very proud of you!!
:-)
It has been a grand 2 years raking classes and being a T.A
Taking
I should have done it decades ago
congrats, crossy!......lurking here....
WEll DONE Crossy! It is never too late to learn
My mrs has also gone back and is taking classes:-)
Ty, all:-)
So glad you did so well. When will the next bit of your novel be online again. I got intrigued and then it ended..... sigh
I am glad you enjoyed it, bugsaw. The novel is now 90 percent done and hope to have a fairlypolushed book by the fall
One of the regrets I hear people voice is that they did not attend or complete their studies. Few people regret not spending more hours at the office.
Too true stidge!
I must wander back to house cleaning unliess anyone wants a badly given clue
I can within 2 days of missing my chance of going back. I am elated with the outcome of it all. If i had not gone back, my first novel and my first short story submission would never had happened
No, ty, bugsaw. I owe this grid a bit more sweat yet
I have not learned not to procrastinate yet Crossy. I am happy for you.
ok, bye all lurkers and friends
I am usually a terrible prcrastinator! Once it took me over a year to fix a faulty hallway light switch:-)
That is just being male, crossy. never do today what you can leave, hopefully, forever and the wife won't notice.
Lol
She is not content unless she has a honey-do list to write anyways
My dear husband is a master of that.
I have a typwriter i was supposed to get a new ribbon for--21 years ago...
Good night to all. I'm leaving but the grid is not a bad one and the chat is lovely.
probably too late now. lol
Gn stidgmere:-)
Night, stidgmere. take care
I have been getting notalgic for it lately. I can still re-ink the old ribbon i think
Nostalgic
Used to do it long ago by using fingerprint pads
Then you will be an author in the old-fashioned sense. Slaving away over a hot typewriter.
Yup, white- out all over the place
It is past 1 am here. I must away to my bed. Night all.
Gn jaxx
Love these long summer days. Tis 8:15 pm am thereis still lots of light here:-)
