Hi all
Thanks, flosey....lol
Hey there, Liz.
good morning all. Hi Liz :)
Hi Sprite :)
love your pics. Will write back later today.
Thanks - I'll look forward to hearing from you.
ty for the ge
:)
How are you today, Sprite?
pretty good! And how was your day?
OK - just back from the gym - going out tonight to listen to a talk - did nothing except write to you and photo stuff this morning.
nice and relaxed. Interesting talk tonight?
Hope so - if it is, I'll write to you about it.
I would like that!
Just sent you a quick email.
*checking mail*
fw - last word was ge5/14 - sounds slangy to me
Congrats, Flosey
goodnight all
wtg flosey!
tks Liz
Congrats, flosey!!!!
and peach
Sleep well, Flosey
Hi there, sprite
hi peach :)
erst
sorry
*giggles* Bad peach. Next time make it one I don't already have.
Lol - I thought about saying something similar,
lol
brb
aw peach, we were just kidding with ya!
phantom: that flippin' sleep disease fly
{{hugs}} and good morning sprite. {{hugs}} lizgirl. g'day peach
There are certainly enough of each of the letters that make up that fly
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend. How was your day?
HI and hugs Rose - though again, only here for a few more minutes.
aren't there just, Liz. So unfair.
I mean that one single time that the fly would come in handy... no dice.
TRue
dr's appt. liver functions still deranged, but much improved.
Any improvement is very good and makes me smile.
oh that is really good news, rose. That poor liver of yours has got such a tough blow. No wonder it takes time to get back to full health. But great that it is going that way.
how was your night, sprite?
good. No bad dreams, enough hours, I feel more rested.
wonderful, sprite.
That also makes me smile
:) Always happy when that happens. And the sun is out here, looks like it is gonna be a beautiful day.
*enjoys Liz's pretty smile*
Blush
nice. listened to a few of Caya's songs. man!! that girl can sing.
beautiful, isn't it, rose? And what she sings stays with you, or at least it is that way for me.
oh, don't you just love liz's smile.
oh Liz, I will send you a link to Caya's soundcloud.
yes I do. It is a lovely smile in a sweet face.
OK - enough of that - time for me to go and get ready - I hate the fact that everything starts so early here - need to leave home at 6.20 and eat before then :(
Enjoy your day, Sprite. Enjoy your evening, Rose. Hugs to you both.
Oh, and thanks - yes I'd like that link.
awww, poor liz. try and enjoy your evening.xoxox
Thanks - I hope to. I'm just more used to evenings starting at about 8.00! Bye for now
not convenient, Liz. But I hope the talk is worth it. Have a grand evening.
we have kind of the same thing here on tuesdays. Caya has to leave for dancing at 6 pm and I for singing at 6.45 pm. And last week and this week, Rob had to leave at 5 pm! Eating dinner at 4.30 pm is weird.
sprite, couldn't you all have a light snack before you go out, then eat the prepared dinner when you come home?
we could, but I don't want caya to go dancing on an almost empty stomach. And when I come home from singing, I am usually too tired to eat, or too cook.
I'm back.....had to make toast for the dogs and myself.
so I have decided I will cook on tuesdays, but I'll cook soup, and something extra that we will eat with bread. Or at least the others will eat bread.
ah ok, peach! For a second I was afraid we had teased you too much and you were hurt.
what does Tim do on tuesday nights? does he join you all at 4:30pm?
g'day peach
yes he does, or if he has to work, he will heat up a cup of soup and the extra when it suits him
Hey there, Rose. Hope you are feeling better.
i am thanx peach. but the blood te5 are still not back to normal. much improved though.
You are in my prayers, my dear.
at least some part of rose is moving in the direction of normal
*hides under desk*
:-) that's lovely peach. thanx so much
yeah, moving to under sprite's desk. * gotcha *
lol
do you want the feather or the whole chicken when i tickle you?
let's do the feather and roast the chicken.
you're on. yummy !!
*binds up chicken and fires up oven*
* peeling potatoes and pumpkin* do want fries with that?
I think so. Virtual fries don't have carbs, do they?
no, they're full of hot air... lolll
lolll
mo7 is weird
how can something be the superlative of a superlative?
i know.
dictionary says it is slang. Ok then.
quote from dictionary: she was the hostess with the mo7
you can't have morish. as in, the chocolate was morish meaning the taste invited you to eat more.
would work for me. Especially with chocolate.
and yet, everyone uses it.
enable needs a nowadays words infusion

WTG SPRITE!!!
tomorrow is out with june for lunch day. i am so looking forward to it.
what is on the cards for your day sprite?
I have to move on, darling. I want to finish the plain text of my translation today. After that, all that is left are the dance notations. Hard to translate those, but I think I know how to do it.
awesome, darling! Another milestone for you. I hope the two of you have a lovely time.
and that answered that
*giggles* *hugs* my dear friend. Sleep well and rest even better.
{{hugs}} my darling. i hope your day allows you some enjoyment. xoxox
Hello all! May I have the stats for the lone G in the third column?
GE 9/78
Good morning, my friends:)
Hello, Crossy :-)
Urrggh. A lone 9. Not fun :) How's everyone?
Can clue if needed, Matty.
All well here thanks. How about you?
Not awake... ugh...
Twould be great... :) I'm not too bad, thanks
Regret is to me a phantom today
Mans name with a zuccini ending as we would say here they are called a courg____
Thank you! Became more obvious when I stopped trying to use Greg...
lol
May I also have the stats for the 8?
ST 7/32 & ST 8/45
OK, I suspect I'll have better luck finding them when I open the list
Can clue if needed.
I've opened the list, so at least I know what the third letter is - give me a few to see if I can find the :)
I've opened the list, so at least I know what the third letter is - give me a few to see if I can find them :)
No probs.
Was looking for a good quote on regrets and have one to share for crossy's quote of the day!! (sorry about the length)
“I said â€I love you so much it’s killing me†and you kept saying sorry so I stopped explaining for it never made sense to you what always did to me to let what you love kill you and never regret. As Romeo is dying Juliet says â€I am willing to die to remain by your side†and love was never a static place of rest but the last second of euphoria while throwing yourself out from a 20 store window to be able to say â€I flew before I hit the groundâ€, and it was glorious. Don’t be sorry. The fall was beautiful, dear. The crash was beautiful.†― Charlotte Eriksson
stemshot - what it is when one uses branches as arrows?
Eventually found it !
:)
"lol... my poor beloved is so nocturnal, and I just got her up at six a.m today--it is kind of like The Walking Dead, but without the flesh rot:)
Good morning.
Howdy, Sukee
Hi crossy.
It is a good time to be a Jays fan, 7 wins in a row :)
Another glorious, albeit rainy day; I swear i am going to get my better half out on a sunrise hike yet:)
Yup, everyone will climb onboard
I still remember 1992 when they were on fire.
Thunderstorms are on our forecast.
I am glad I have stood behind them all the way, even when they are losing :)
Same here, rain all this week, with Sunday the only clear day
I was so thrilled in 1992/93, it was a great time to be living in Toronto.
They were golden
I saw one game live during the 1993 season.
Toronto was transformed. everyone was smiling:)
... it's too soon ... there are 100 games left in the season ... lots of good, bad and indifferent things can happen ... it's too soon to start holding one's breathe and trying to wish them home
I know... but I won't lose hope.
I have been to only one game at the Skydome. The thing that hit me the most was how it appeared smaller than it did on T.V. When they fouled up the ball went right up into the rafters of the closed dome. I was right up front between 3rd base and home:)
... no need to do that ...
Yes, we chose to sit behind 3rd base in the outfield so we could get a good look at Joe. He wasn't playing that day...
No need, I mean people have been rotting for the Cubs for like 100 years or something:))
rooting
... 1908
:)
well, after 100 years they would be rotting :)
:)
... i wasn't going to say that
lol
I always thing of Steve Goodmans Dying cubs fans song when I think of that
Anyway, I have my Kawasaki shirt on today.
I know it is complete bunk but it seems they do better when he is on the bench or when they bring him in to play.
Mrs and i are binge watching Orange is the new back season two to get ready for Friday:)
I still haven't watched it.
Same as Mad Man and Breaking Bad, never seen any of them.
Mad Men
We tried one episode of Mad men and it failed to impress
Breaking Bad is still on the list
I loved House of Cards at the beginning but lost interest.
Am also working my way through the Lost series
I saw one episode of Lost and did not like it.
I will never get through everything i want to see on Netflix:)) best $7.99/ month I spend
I don't use my account enough.
I tossed the cable, so this is it for watching show for me. Love the extra 100 dollars a month
But really, I could get by with it and being able to watch the BBC. But I would miss baseball, don't want to pay $25 to mlb.com.
it paid for my 51 inch HDTV:)
it is not for those who love sports or news
good morning all. we want to get rid of cable. what do you suggest we get instead?
Netflix.
I love my Netflix, peri. I save 1200 a year by not having our old cable package
oh, my bro in law likes to watch those finance shows
we have netflix
You can also get Hula which we can't get in Canada.
Hulu?
But, as i say, If you are a noewshound, or love sports, it may not be for you
or Hulu.
We are not allowed Hulu in Canada:(
hmm, what about roku?
we have hulu here just not at the house
I even tried to sign up using a VPN but they won't accept a paypal address registered in Canada.
nope
I can see US netflix doing that eventually.
Mt HDTV is a "smart" TV, so I do not need a roku box
ah
Though I hear good things about them
I seem to be stuck in the grid, haven't gotten a word in a few minutes :)
So, I would start there, peri.
I am thinking of getting a smart TV. I am still using the TV I bought in 1992.
and , of course get unlimited data plan on your internet
The smart tv is so worth it, scrabby
no wires is a godsend
so you do not need cable with a smart TV?
That is on my want list.
Soon, Crossy. Which brand do you recommend?
and it is basically a computer inside your TV. I can surf the net and play babble on the 51 inch screen if I choose:)
My Samsung has given no problems whatsoever
Thanks
This one cost me $700 inc tax
Not bad, cheaper than an iPad.
But I paid for it with money saved from having no calbe, so it was not an issue
Can anyone tell me anything about the oe7?
cable*
wait, so with a smart TV you do not need roku or cable? but you need Netflix, right
I am thinking of cancelling cable too.
Yes, you need netflix
I should have done it years ago, scrabby
or Hulu if in States
I actually do not watch much TV anyway.
Rogers and Bell now have their own streaming services, but I'm not really interested.
You do not realize how badly the cable companies hold you prisoner util you have the freedom to watch what you want, when you want.
I am confused. Netflix or Hulu then with a smart tv
Would be perfect for you then, scrabby
Good morning everyone
yes, peri
Hi Car!
can we still watch those finance show with hulu?
I pay $140/month for basiccable and internet.
or the tv you have now, with a Roku box that will stream netflix or hulu to your tv
Hi Car. How is your sciatica today?
I pay $207 for TV, internet, phone and Next Issue. That is with basic cable.
:( Pain clinic tomorrow...hopefully they can help me.
oe7 ends like what you did if you squirted the turkey with some of it's juices
Be warned though; If you stream netflix or hulu, you will need to add unlimited data to your internet pack
Epidural injection of steroid and long-acting pain med--that will help.
Thanks Molly!
Mmmm...turkey
I'm hoping...but tomorrow is just the consult, so I won't be getting it tomorrow
ty crossy, will tell bro in law
My doc friend had that done to avoid surgery. Worked well.
Any clue for the middle lone G?
It's a 9 - imagine if the new Prince (Catherine's son) was in a girl band...
TY, Matty
YW
I did not get that clue for the 9
Got it, TY :) Great clue.
ty
Peri, Ted Baxter's girlfriend
It could also be a combination of both of their kids names.
Good one Molly.
ok, I remember her name, now looking
Yes, Sukee!
LOL...
That's FW for me!
Congrats!
I still don't see it and I need help with the 8 too, pls
Yay, Matty.
Peri, make Bush's name a woman's name
Peri, 1st name of the 1st president, feminized.
Feminine version of Prince Ge****'s name
I am trying
ah, got it, ty
It is a twisty word
Ends in the suffix that ends "major" in a marching band
stats for the 8 pls
When balancing the phone/cable/ internet bundle, I considered many things. That the internet had to stay was a given and that was running about $55 dollars for 80 data cap, the cable was 100, and the land-line 35, so, since the net is staying it only made sense to bump it to unlimited data which brought it to $88/month. Now we recoup 100 on the cable, and 35 on the phone, since I Skype everyone now. In the end the savings work for me. As far as non computer calling , I picked up a 50 dollar pay-as-you go phone, put a 100 dollar card on it and it lasts an average of 7 months versus the 300 or so i would have spent on the land-lime for the same time period. I love tweaking the entertainment budget;)
st8/45
ty for ge9, Sukee
It was from Matty :)
not seeing the st8
Very good strategies, Crossy.
First part of the word is the green bit of a flower (that's not leaves) and the second bit is male offspring (and plural for the eight)
Ty again Matty.
ty matty

I'm struggling with the OE clue that was given earlier...I get the ending, but am stuck with the middle.
OK, I'm outta here. Sessures!
Take care.
NM...found it!
I got it too, with help of More Words.
I passed halfway and now I must get ready for work. ENjoy the day.
Let's hear it for morewords

Can't believe I missed what hens lay :)
and silly words that sound like the people who lay them
Yes, found those.
Hmm, there was only one letter between the oe and the ending I clued. Sorry if that was confusing.
57 left, time for a break.
I was throwing in an extra vowel...too early for me to be able to count the letters! My bad.
s in the 4th column, pls

wahhay! I'm back on Babble:-) Because I've been mostly on my iPad it's been too difficult to play because the keypad obscures the grid. Have just set up a little Bluetooth keyboard and it's fabulous. So nice to see you all again.
hi sally
good morning sally
wb Sally
Hi, Sally! Welcome back. Yes - the keyboard is a must.
Hi all, nice to see the familiar faces. Why didn't I think of this before?
Hi, Sally! I love doing Babble on my iPad too, have a BT keyboard as well.
I've been waiting for someone from the UK to come on --- when does daylight saving time end in the UK?
I'm back after a few years myself!

painters just arrived -- not sure if they will finish today or not. At least the stucco will be done and we can get the paper masking off the windows
Didn't realize how uncomfortable it is living in a place with no windows!
Summer time starts last weekend of March (29th), finishes 25 October.
So, how long have you been living in a black ops underground bunker, Nan?
nan, so true. I need to have that outside view, even if I don't go out!
Shh, Judi, you'll expose her secret identity.

Hi, Ishult - it's a type of fabric, and also a woman's name (old fashioned)
*imagines judi in a tasteful orange prison jumpsuit
hello friends
Orange is the new black (so I'm told).

Hiya, Trif!
got the stats for that?
hello
I love this chat log. Sometimes it's like pushing a button on a jukebox and seeing what plays!

I thought most women would like to "have" the UPS guys
*Tries to imagine a "tasteful" prison suit
Those brown socks...
I've had one of those and they are all they are cracked up to be...and more...
LOL
got it ty
well.. Molly they DO know their zip codes
Tears, seriously, I'm crying
yw, Ishult :)
And they always have the nicest packages.
LOL
Any guy with the legs that can lug 75 pounds up 4 flights of stairs is worth "getting to know"
they have a lot of practice humping boxes too
er.. moving boxes
valentine's roommate is a UPS guy, and he is a fat, cranky old pig. Would go NEAR him
RURU!!! I am at SCHOOL!!! lolololol
Most importantly, they know how to drive it home
Mixed message, Trif?
wouldn't! wouldn't GO NEAR HIM
oger
oops
close ishult
Switch the r & e, Ishult!
Freudian, Trif.
I can honestly say I have never seen a fat UPS delivery guy
Nice deflection Trif, but you are so nailed.
Um...
True, Molly. They all seem to be very fit. Understandable.
no no, seriously. He is a cranky old man. he NEVER even looks happy. Just sits there pouting all the time. ALL THE TIME
already had it.... If I've learnt anything in all my years babbling....its worth trying any combo of letters!!!
hi all. any clues for the 8?
when I lived with mrs ru she had the hots for our ups driver who was very handsome
Trif, he is old and fat and delivers for UPS. Never seen that either.
see chog at 9:10, mgk, hi, and make sure you start reading from 9:07 or so. I had to go get tissues.
True, ish, so true.
And the UPS guys and postal carriers around here are very friendly and very chatty. My mailman can talk your ear off.
imagines molly painting van gough painting copies
Ruru segues. Coming or going, who knows?
Do the postal carriers still where uniforms where you are, Molly. Only a select few here. If they have a sub on a route, they can where whatever they want. No ID, no nothing. Weird.
Trif, maybe he made that face and it froze that way.
In my next relationship I am getting an UPS outfit and playing delivery driver
All postal carriers around here wear uniforms.
lol. Better paint the Audi brown, Ru.
Judi, are you saying they wear nothing? Trif might be interested...
You should Ru, they are right up there with firemen on the fantasy scale.
I am NOT even entertaining the thought of him nude. NO
Hoppin' chog today.
yeah.. tried the fireman thing but that never works out
But it IS entertaining to the rest of us!
Firemen don't have those sexy shorts.
No USPS uniform or anything that would identify them as mail carriers. Some rastafarian dude showed up at the Police Dept. last week with a handful of mail. Thought he was here to turn himself in.
can't adjust the helmet from banging on the headboard ..
Delivery service, Judi? Messenger?
but the pole, ruru!!!
well.. trif.. there is that
Hose issues, Ruru?
Imagining ruru as a mall cop (in uniform, of course) on a Segway...
water pressures are good here in napa judi :D
that's funny JB.. I haven't been to a Mall in three years
count for lone s in fourth column please?
Poles are difficult. Had one on a party bus once. Definitely did not have the muscles required to do anything but fall. Then again, the Nalgene full of Sweet Tea Vodka and Lemonade (powder) might have also had something to do with that...
st6/21, trif
and hi all!
*not going to comment on women having pole difficulties*
*Imagines Redshoes pole dancing on the bus

thanks uusue
And the Babble bus is moving on from Fantasyland to RealityTV land! Redshoes has taken the microphone :)
Thanks uusue!
Molly, pole falling is more like it.
does the ge 9 have a beginning that suggests earth studies?
Chris Rock says that a father's most important job is to keep his daughter off the pole : D
No, it suggests Bush, former president
ugh, thanks molly
Thanks Molly
actually mr. bush as the new Caitlyn :D
got it! Ha!NBT
Which pole, Molly?
thanks for the 9, molly!
The stripper pole Red
nbs too - wheeeeee
I used to go to hot yoga and a strip club moved in downstairs. It was awfully difficult to imagine myself rooted to the ground when I knew I was more likely rooted to the top of a pole.
There is a pole in the grid today, if anyone is still interested in that puzzle over there to the left. I left off searching words for the funtime chat today!
Although...that pole thing worked for the Karate Kid.
Puzzle thing? Oh, hey! There it is. Crazy.
Different kind of pole JB. You had me confused for a moment!
<innocent look> :)
Then again, doesn't take much to confuse me.
Hey, look! Fireworks! I guess I was paying some attention to the grid.
Well, if you're rooted to a pole, red, then you might have bigger things on your mind.
Yay, Judi! I'm getting there.
yay judi!
See y'all tomorrow! *POOF*
G'day, Judi!
I have found the 9
Hot Yoga sounds like where the pole dancers warm up

What a fun Babble day today. You all ROCK! (yes, you too, ruru). Thanks for all the clues, and all the laughs! I will be smiling for the rest of the day. Poles and packages, hah, hah!! See you tomorrow! *poof*
So nice to see at least one person appreciate the humor here.
*sticking head back in* Molly, I think you are a comedy writer in disguise here, when I see you on the chog, I look back for your comments. You make me laugh, thanks! *really poof now*

If anyone is wondering about the young sheep clue, it is a British word.
hi, all! i hope you're having a good day. oe7?

hi ruby, turq, Molly'
hi bichon
ge 5/14: painting technique
ty turq
ge 5/14: g + Canadian gasoline
got it turq
:-)
Bich, a bunch of us wished you a happy birthday earlier, but you must have been busy with something else.
happy birthday, bichon!
gpetrol...nope...
Not really, but thank you. Do you know that when you get on to Google on your birthday you get a picture of birthday doings
ty all
I never tried that bichon
do you use Chrome?
Molly: g + Canadian brand of gasoline
Oh wow, we were faked out? Peri said it was your birthday.
isn't it your birthday today, bichon. I got a notice on facebook.
Oh yeah, we had that brand of gas years ago
Yes, June 10th is my birthday
and that is today.
I must have misunderstood the "not really" comment.
Google seems to know everything about us
did you all see rubyfoo's comment yesterday.
no about what?
Which comment?
about the small lesion in her liver, going to have a biopsy done and then chemo
fw!
Yes, her comment was...The lesion is very mall and the doctor was hopeful that it could be well-treated. I found that positive news.
Yes, and I still think she'd be better of here. After all they told her it was something benign all these months
yes that was the comment.
I agree Bich. It would scare me silly to be in a European country dealing with medical issues.
where does her son live?
I agree too
I don't think the issue is her son, I think it's some legal reason
oh
She lso has her husband to think of
I just wondered if she could stay with her son if she decided to return to the states and yes there is her husband.
It would be a bear to get him to the US, given his condition and there would be no one to care of him in France
She owes back taxes to the US. She has said that she cannot return here.
And if something happened to her, there's really no one to care for him
ah, I do remember her saying that
Well, that wouldn't stop me if I had a life threatening disease
is that why she left in the first place?
That is why I find it frightening to move way off to another country, away from family, to spend your elder years.
No Peri, I don't think so. I think the move to France was just to go live somewhere pretty. But Ruby didn't know anything about the tax issue, so she is pretty hosed where that is concerned.
I know a lot of people who retired to places like Mexico, the Caribbean, etc and then go sick. Same for Canadians
ok
Yes, he made her put everything in her name
he, her current husband?
It's kind of a no brainer to assume that you will have health issues in your elder years.
Yes, Burt
I didn't know about Ruby, that is awful. On the other hand, healthcare in Europe (and especially France) is really very good
well that stinks, re the tax issues
Yes, but people never think about it until it happen. Even my parents who move to FL really struck out with the doctors there
I don't mind some health issues as long as they are minor and not life threatening.
That depends on where you live Mixi. There are major health care issues in Europe.
Yes the health care in France is great, but they don't/can't get it
oh dear, that is a real problem then
help with st6/21 pls
yeah, that's true. I'm from Italy and there are certainly better or worse regions to live in, with regards to healthcare. Oh, but if the problem is that they can't get healthcare then that is obviously a huge issue
pt of walked purposely
ty bichon
yw peri
when i lived in France back in 1970, I worked for the Berlitz School and had a French work visa -- when I had to have emergency hernia surgery, I was in hospital for a week -- the entire procedure and hospital stay cost me $1.80 (for the thermometer)
I think with the influx of immigrants that might have changed
i worked for a French company -- that makes all the difference
I am stuck on my last word, to5. I do not see it in morewors.

I am trying to envision a little truck going around with the bells jingling and the happy music blasting out of the tinny speakers on the roof of cab as it meanders it way down the streets in the burbs on a sunny afternoon--selling peaches:)
