yeah, a little better every day. The left side, where they went through the muscle tissue, is still very sore. The other side not so much.
it's amazing really how quickly it's all happened - or it seems quick to me, from when you first spoke about it.
preparational part is about 6 months. Then the waiting list, but I was very lucky there, almost no waiting.

Sewing, knitting, anything to do with making garments was never my strong suit (pun pun) I can hold my own in the kitchen but I leave the sewing and knitting up to those who have a talent for it
i like knitting but i am not an expert by any means...i used to do a lot of needlepoint and some crochet....never liked sewing or embroidering.....
ironically, my mother was a great seamstress...once worked for a tailor....

Two weeks ago we had a trip planned, so we got out of it. Last weekend there was no where to go, as the entire area was socked in. But we don't have any serious fires in our area so I don't want to complain too loudly!
On the western side of Washington, we've had a few days of really bad, from the fires here. I have friends between Orofino and Kamiah, and they have to drive through fire lines to get to work.
Central Washington and northern Idaho are really chaotic.

Agreed. The largest one here has a fire line 1,000 miles long. I can't even imagine that. We came home from a trip this weekend, and before takeoff, the pilot announced there were six firefighters on board heading to Washington. We all applauded.
Une, our part in it this year, is not terrifying at all. We're just breathing bad air, looking at smoky skies, and wishing it would rain. We are spared the worst of it this year--no fires nearby.

We lived through that in 2000. A veteran told us it was as bad a living through the bombings in London during the War. We were completely surrounded by fires. Sometimes all the roads were closed.

So many people have been evacuated in Washington, and there are only so many hotels in the rural area where the fires are. I read that an 80 year old man with nowhere to go has been put up by the local Home Depot. They have a bed made of pallets for him to sleep on.
Around here, most of the evacuees didn't want to go too far, so they loaded up their campers or tents, and went to city parks, or neighbors who lived in towns. The Red Cross even noted that for the number of people evacuated, there were remarkably few staying in the shelters.
Moving animals is a whole 'nother issue!
Oh, I know -- my heart aches for the animals, particularly the wildlife. The farm animals and pets are being put up by locals, from what I understand.

We're in the Lake Stevens area, so about 25 NE of Seattle. At the base of the Cascade Mountain Range, on the other side where the fires are.

Actually, we live in Granite Falls. Beautiful area. Our community has videos on YouTube with photos that tons of us contributed to. The mural Chris Pratt painted in high school is in there too. Yes, about 10 miles from us is I-5, part of the greater Seattle corridor, with tons of traffic.
