Congrats, ruru!!!!!
29 to go and they can wait for tomorrow, off to bed, goodnight all
good morning all
Good morning to you, too, sprite.
hiya pe5 :) You are in the grid today!
Indeed. A first, I think.
{{hugs}} and good morning sprite. xoxoxoxoxox
definitely some time ago, at least.
cooee peach
*hugs rose* Good evening darling. How was your day?
busy. went and had my CPAP machine checked this morning. in the last fortnight there was one night where my brain did not tell me to breath 4 time, plus an episode of obstructive apnea. scary, huh?
yes, that is worrisome, sweetie
then this afternoon i had the cortisone injected into the bursa on my left hip.
ouch ouch ouch
not too bad, if i sit still... lolll
then, by all means, sit still!
Hey there, Rose. How are you?
CPAP tech and i both think my diagnosis should be central sleep apnea, rather than obstructive sleep apnea. plus i am having episodes which the machine is unable to diagnose. and i have the just about every night
sounds to me like you need to go back to the specialist, rose... oxygen shortages are not a good th5
peach, sitting quietly does not hurt. * giggle* and you dear? how are you doing?
Not too bad.....sinus headache most of the day.
ah well sprite. i have a lot of brain ce4s to take over. *grin*
aw poor pe5... healing vibes to your head
ugh, peach. don has those majorly too. and we have only just begun the spring weather
rose, no messing around with that brain, please! I need you to use it for another 40 years at least.
Thank you, dear one.
oops.... drags my butt into the PB.
see... already loss of faculties there
*gurgling into glass* hmpffff
but all kidding aside, rose... you ARE gonna look into it, aren't you? You know how important it is.
sweetie, the CPAP is coping with the episodes. it's just we need to look at the diagnosis. when i had my original study done, and it is only over 2 separate nights,i didn't have any episodes.but the reading from the micro chip in my new machine has given us a heads up. have dr's appt. on friday.
all good then. As long as you take it really seriously. Apneu is not to be trifled with *stern mama look with crossed arms*
and don't i know it. and if you have any words of wisdom on how to persuade my younger brother to go and have his study done i would love to hear them.
why isn't 'dethfing' not an alternate spelling of deathwing?
this is the brother who has already had a heart attack and now has stents in his coronary arteries. stubborn as a freakin' mule.
um... how about: "Shall I come and water you twice daily after you have become an indoor plant?"
i don't know where he gets his stubbornness from... i'm not at all like that. * looks heavenward, innocently*
yeah right... sure.... hmm-mm... *yes-yes treatment with smile*
*giggling* i luv's ya spritey
luvsya right back.
I really have no idea where those last 40 words are hiding, and still biggies there too. This is an odd grid!
it is. the words are twisty alright.
my kind of grid, alright!
did we lose pe5? :(
looks like she has gone.
hope she is ok. Nasty kind of headache.
yeah they are. poor don suffers from them too. plus the trigeminal nerve neuralgia. we still cannot work out how the face neuralgia triggers the shoulder blade pain either.
could be simply through tensing up?
good thought. next time i might try a baby dose of valium or magnesium.
yeah, see if that makes a difference. It is impossible not to tense up with pain, and tense muscles can trigger nerve issues. Who knows, would be great if that would help.
absolutely sprite. how was your night, sweetie?
I slept really well :)
yayayayayayay!!!
yeah am over the moon too. What a difference that makes :)
and now you feel so much better for once, you will continue to take baby steps, right?
uhmmmm ouch. Yes. You are right. So hard not to use that energy to the max, isn't it.
exactly. if these cortisone shots work, i will have to be on a short leash.
*giggles* I'll hold yours if you hold mine
what an interesting concept!!
I try to picture it. Somehow, I don't think it will work... there is nothing to prevent us from running around together!
yeah.... four hands to do twice the work.
*grins* on the other hand, we could really inspire eachother to be couch potatoes and watch dvds.
*evil grin* like that idea better.
sprite, are you sitting down?
I do that in the afternoons these days. Bit of work in the morning, couch potatoe in the afternoon, early to bed in the evening. Being good!
I am. Shoot.
i suggested don pull off the onion weed leaves and flowers in the hope we can starve the bulbs into eternity. he actually went out and did it.
o.my.God. Did you check his temp? Not running a fever is he?
AND......he pulled the bulbs out as well. i nearly fainted.
lovely man. I hope you hugged him and thanked him extensively.
*giggles* ikr? but...he is digging in the heels re line-trimming and mowing. our gardener went and had shoulder surgery last week and he won't be back for 12 weeks.
i actually said to don that he had not better let all the gardener's hard work become undone.
well, I think he has a point. Sounds like work that might trigger his shoulder nerve issues. Can't you hire a temp boy to just do the heavy work?
hmmmm, good point. i will think about it and see if i can find someone around here.
should be someone around who'd like to earn a few extra bucks :)
breaking news here....our prime minister is about to be voted out of position by his own cabinet. it's too sad as he is a good man.
9 left. I love this grid.
oho, now you love it.....and well done.....gooooo sprite
I do, grin. I like the twisty ones. They do funny things with my brain.
probably unscrambles it....lollll
roflollllll probably, yes
hey, i wonder how worzel is doing? i must shoot him an email and see how th5s are for him.
yeah haven
haven't seen him around for a while
of course that other 8 was a compound
hi freinds
ltns
of course it was...*giggle*
hi pink :) How are you?
{{{{{{{{PINK}}}}}}}}}

not too bad thanx pink.
sprite very good you have had a few issues if I recall
yeah but nothing serious. All moving in the right direction too :)
ugh, pink. will you be able to go back and catch a few more zzzz's?
grose sprite u guys always welcome me warmly
that's because we love to see you
indeedlol otherwise I will look like a zombie
looking like a zombie isn't the worst thing... feeling like one is what does us in, lol
such a good look, pink. you could start a new fashion trend.
and ur knees ok grose?
hmmmm, not really dear. the nerve in the right one has been badly damaged and i am currently moving towards a court case for pain and suffering.
fireflies. Awesome grid.
nice sprite
but the good news is that i have found a good pain management specialist
geez grose I am sorry I do u get a win there wow
WTG SPRITE!!!!!!
im still sloooow at his grids
this is a slow grid, pink... it is twisty.
dear ladies, I am off to do a bit of laundry. A big *hug* for the both of you. Sleep well, and later on, enjoy your day :)
be well sprite
xoxoxoxox. love and hugs dearest.
grose how is fang lol
we hardly hear from her nowadays. don and i both feel strongly that she only stayed nive with us because of MIL's money.
*nice*
tha seems pretty clear
grose can I get a clue for ch 8 please
ah well. we ask ourselves do we really want her in our lives. and i am guessing you know the answer to that one.
right it did seem like she was in it for her needs only
pink, love. ca8 or ch7?
opps ch 7
np's. ch7. c + long narrow passage + two vowels
uses double consonant

Good morning, everybody:)
Hello, Crossy, long time no see!
How is Zooz this fine morning?
hi crossy!! (hugs)!
hi zoom :))
(((MRP)))
Hello, Mrp :-)
I am well thanks, Crossy :-)
How are you?
good to see you here crossy :)
I am doing fine:) My beloved sends her best:)
Has it warmed up here you are, Mrp?
Hello, Elegant :-)
give her hugs and kisses back
Where*
oh it has! today was very warm and tomorrow is going to be 30C... too warm! I actually drove the car 300m around the block so I could be in aircon!
Tis a balmy 8C here atm as we slide into autumn:)
LOL a different way to stay cool haha as long as it works :-)
with the bushfires the air quality is crap too, so driving to where I need to go works or you choke on it
We are still in double digits here, Crossy, but I am sure it will not be too long before we too slide into the colder days as well as nights.
Not nice then, Mrp. I here in California they are having terrible fires too!
that is cool... anything under 14c is cool LOL
Doe not bother me too much. We are a tourist town, and as of Sept. we have our home back:)
yes, thousands of homes gone... very sad
Praying for all those in the affected fire areas...
but at least people leave their homes during a fire... our fatalities in fires is shocking cause people stay
HI Crossy!
Howdy, Gemini:)
Parents just phoned..their stairlift has stopped working.so I need to go and see if I can help.Sorry to say hello then leave.
there needs to be a rethink in insurance during bushfires here
see ya zoom... have a good day and hope you sort the lift out
tc Zooz and have a great day
how have you been keeping crossy?
Our prime minister is being challenged tonight for the leadership... not a good look. This trend to challenge has become commonplace
MP's are voting tonight... Tony Abbott might be out... and the Treasurer is not happy that he has been blamed too for the problems with our PM
Toepeach should so be a word
hi matty
Over on this side of the pond, mrp, I think we are more than ready for a new P.M:)
On that subject, I've two words left - that TO8 and the first AL6/24 - can anyone help? And hi all!
I can't stand our PM...
he is just a universal embarassment
don't have those yet matty, and this is a tough little grid too!
We have had our for 9 year. it is time for some fresh blood.
I wish that Julia Bishop would stand for PM, she would be good
Too bad Bernie Sanders is south of the border. He looks like he knows what he is doing.
Toepeace - when you don't have bunions or hammer toes
lol, matty
almost got the 8 there Matty
thanks kallia
yw
OK, looking again
I think the only thing south of our border is a penguin colony... I guess they look similar to our pollies
toe jewellery matty
Aaaa haaa! Thanks Kallia
(I imagine Donald Trumps hair on my feet....)
:)
haha! i like it
Now just that pesky al6/24 (the first one - before the possibly unfounded accusation)
you get the best clues here early in the morning (for me before 5 am)
The best and brightest :))
no idea matty
As we prove that we're the best and the brightest ;) I think I shall do a very unbright thing (have a smoke) and come back and see if that final word jumps out at me
go for it matty... am pouring myself a vino here :)
girls namen+ first part of foot specialist
shortened girls name

Hi car

hello friends
((Trif))
so happy to see so many GOOD FRIENDS!
hi sukee and trif :))
gm, everyone tricky grid
just so nice to see lovely babblers here tonight!
((dawg!)) yes is a tricky dicky
hiya, (((MRP)))
I am looking and feeling my best today at work (eye roll)
the leadership challenge for our PM is just about to be announced... Abbott or Turnbull
my friend came over yesterday, and MAN did we blow off some steam (and about 2 bottles of wine, oooof)
lol trif! it is a good day when you can do that!
and the result of the challenge is.....
Turnbull is in!!
is that good news, mr p? and aren't YOU the p?
our PM is out!
yayayayaya!! happy Turnbull and Bishop are now leaders
info
I am the resident president for sure :))
shoot, sorry
"resident president" is fun to say
aleph
hope the new leaders are good ones, Mrp
oh no! it's catching!
same here dawg! Have wanted Bishop in for a while now
sorry, folks
and Joe Hockey is gone! he is such a dipshit
cmon, grant, give me something i don't have! lol
ministers are going to be resigning tonight!
pretty amazing that we are lucky enough to change leaders in a bloodless and peaceful fashion
ah the Australian politics are facinating... we don't elect people, we elect parties
the spill was 54 votes to 44
YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....
it is well that you have mandatory voting there. Wish that would happen here as well:)
and the ministers automatically resign? they don't hang in there like our chaff do?
pride on one side and disappointment on the other... and our Prime Minister is now Malcolm Turnbull Bye Tony Abbott!!
Mornin!
The ministers all go and argue like mad now, and if they are not going to support their leader within the party, then they resign
Howdy Jan:)
How goes it Crossy? Enjoying the cooler weather?
it is very nice. I love autumn:)
was 9 C this morn:)
Abbott is a douche... am glad he is gone... All of Australia wanted this. The Governor General will swear him in tomorrow morning and most of the current ministers will stay in place until Turnbull announces his cabinet ministery
Reading up on mr turnbull - some very interesting planks in his platform
and that is my report on Australian Politics tonight... thank you all
I love autumn too
Aussie politics is rather refreshing after having to look at "The Donald" every time you turn on the T.V or computer...
oh please, crosshair - I. can't. even. with that windbag. He is making America look a fool
this morning, our PM was carrying on like a child saying that he doesn't believe any of the childish rumours coming out of Canberra about his leadership, and that there is no divisiion within his party... Suck it up Abbott, you got rolled
But trif... didn't What's-his-face-Kanye West say he was going to run for president??
he also said he was leaving America. bye!
That is a fool!
I'd help him pack
I don't think these dicks would run for president if it was a rule that they had to leave America if they didn't win :))
I feel the same way about war. Let's see how many congressmen vote to have a war if doing so meant they had to send one of their own children to fight.
it has often been easier to discount lives when they are merely pins placed on a map for you to move around as you see fit.
I must be off. Take care, my friends, and happy babbling!
tadone!! finito! interesting convo. I try to stay out of political discussions. kinda like talking about religion. too personal and too emotional.
morning all, I think we do better at Babble than at politics so lets work on some clues.....

Afternoon, all!
Hi Judi
the c's are driving me nuts!
You'd think after working somewhere for 18 years, people would leave you alone and not mess with a good thing. Oh no. They have to suddenly start effing up what isn't broken.
I hate when that happens...
someone justifying their existence?
Our City Administrator thinks it's okay to trample all over our contract and start treating employees like his own little puppets.
I knew it was a man.
Well, I have filed a grievance through the Union. We'll see where it goes. He thinks it's perfectly fine to expect me to do my own full time job and then also work in another city office 3-4 days a week to "help out" another secretary. Huh?
Wow!
I'm so pissed off I could spit nails.
Spit them at him.
All because the City is too cheap to hire another part-time or (God forbid) full time secretary.
Exactly.
I also have seniority over another Secretary (who wasn't even considered before me) - another violation.
Sorry to vent, but I know I lean on the very broad shoulders herein.
No problem at all.
Let it all out.
Better than throwing stuff at the boss.
Believe me, it crossed my mind. I remained civil, but it was a challenge.
good girl
I guess that's what they mean by a civil servant
He's taking it literally.
Yeah, that's me.
well I can attest that the DMV is loaded with Uncivil servants
we all can.
*imagines Judi typing with white gloves on...being proper*
Ha. The DMV - where good souls go to decay.
yeah.. and people in line too
Actually ours has gotten to be okay.
Since the state isn't running it anymore, it's much better.
Actually, our DMV is pretty good here too.
On a lighter note, I am going up to visit Scrabs in Oct.
Hego, I just noticed that you are immortalized in today's grid.
yes. :)
cl 5/14, first two pls
the first one sounds like a French pancake, different 2nd letter.

no you wouldn't.
Just kidding.. no.. I never would
judi .. you should post your boss' email.. we'll all let him have it :D
:)
Good evil plan. I like it.
heh heh heh. Tempting, Ruru. Must take the higher road. I do work at the police department.
Yeah.. I'm guessing "hey suckface" as my opening line wouldn't help you much
must go. Hang in there. Love you guys.
Thanks, Hego. See ya!
I was thinking something more hyphenated. Like, "suck-face-douche-bag".

That's better
heaven forbid I should prolong it!
sigh.. fw.. so off to my domestic chores. Happy Babbling all!
This grid was a collection of interesting words. I used dictionary.com for many and discovered that quite a few of the words had no definition.
it certainly seems challenging fuzzybunny!
and many of the words are difficult to clue, imho
hi blah :)

lol... it was the first thing that came to me... is it that obscure?
nice pick up molly
ch7/36
ch7...start like Jewish dinner bread and end like the red headed Andrews of comic book fame who hung out with Betty and Veronica
I didn't find your clue obscure at all Kate. But I know Hurshy's taste in music and it does not lend itself to Manfred Mann or Springsteen (who covered that song)
ty
:)
i am awed that kate remembered i lolt was mannfred mann
*it was* ... darn cursor jumps around on this keyboard
lol... and molly reminded me that springsteen covered it... we are all learning something today :D
There are some great twisted lyrics from that song. People seemed to think Manfred was singing about a douche.
;)
last word.. al 6/24 (last al word in list) please?
It's a legal term...someone might al6 that you were at the scene of the crime...means said but not proven
fw! thanks molly!
looking for zebras instead of horses again ... :D
Typo of fish?
Fish???
Since the boss first wrote and recorded it, I think you'd call Manfred Mann's the cover.
I stand corrected :)
True, but most people know it by Mann first and Springsteen second, since Springsteen's version didn't get popular until after Mann's.
ah... brownjd was referring to the zebras maybe?
I only ever think of Bruce's version.LOL
You were not being corrected Kate, I was
Greetings From Asbury Park was Springsteen's debut album and did not meet with much critical or popular music success. The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle met with better response and he really broke out with Born To Run
sorry folks, I wandered off for a little while.. but I really do have to run now.. be back later this evening happy babbling everyone :)
Well Kate, I would say it's okay to wander off, but that seems to upset those who haven't had their meds yet. Have a nice evening.
Has 2 legs..
That would be a two-knee fish...har dee har
Whee! I just won a bet!
*wondering if Molly has been hitting the liquor cabinet in the PB*....
Ah, no Pen. Not on a work night.
too bad! ;o)
hi all. help with 2nd al6 pls
Yeah, well, I have worked with people who mix liquor and work and it's not pretty.
The second al6 is a legal term. The defense attorney will refer to his client as the al6ed killer.
"He al****dly did the crime, but there is no proof"....
ty pen

Hi everyone. I just saw on the TV that NapaValley has massive fire damage. Has anyone heard from RURU? I believe he lives in Napa Valley. Just want to know that he is alright. Thanks
Ru is fine Peach. I'm sure he will be glad to know you asked after him.
Thanks so much, Molly.
hi peach...
i don't think any of the active fires are that close to napa. the closest is the Valley Fire...here is a map of fires in CA https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?m\nid=zp8nK_5H0MFQ.kzTmU5XK-qJQ
there is a fire in Napa County, i think....i have no idea if that is where Napa Valley is...
Thanks Hursh, I didn't think the fires were close to Napa

Oh come on Tor, I know you have "tuned a harp" or two in your time. : P

If you can get the strings tight enough to emit a high C you are considered an artful tuner.
