Sixth Lake is surrounded by private homes. The eastern half of Seventh Lake is state-owned so there are campsites and 2 beaches.
Also there is a large island, 1/3 private, 2/3 state-owned.
We kayaked around the island.

Hi everyone -- in airport lounge waiting for a flight to Vienna. So far our trip has been fabulous -- had a view of Vesuvius erupting from our hotel room in Sorrento, Wonderful tour of rome, Took a gondola ride in Venice, loved Turkey, Dubrovnik was interesting too -- visited some hill towns from there. our Athens taxi tour was the best thing we could have done - our driver was the best and he wasn't hard on the eyes either :D

oh it is... I like to make grilled (real) cheese on country harvest stone milled wheat bread (has a bit of a nutty flavour) then drizzle on some dijon or spicy mustard...then sprinkle on bacon(the mustard holds it on).. then voila! grilled cheese a la kate

i use really sharp vermont cheddar when I do grilled cheese. of course that isn't terribly often, but I do like them now and again. If I ate them as much as I'd like, I wouldn't be able to cross one thigh over the other!

nice old cheddar is great dorens... but i made one with garlic/herb havarti and it was to die for...or I mix it up with cheddar and monetrey jack - nice combo :)

Well the latest around town (no political comments please) is that just when the media frenzy has calmed down, is that President Obama is coming to pay his respects.
So our little town once more is a media zoo. I am forever grateful for the love and out pouring of support, but I am so over the lying media.

I love that the town has banded together to protect the families of those affected (like you all weren't in some way). I especially liked that there was the decision not to mention names...
Everything from free food taken to all the police at the college to free coffee at dutch brothers the entire week end, it has been amazing. Our goal is to pay all funeral costs for the deceased and all hospital bills for the wounded.

Even the tatoo parlor did tatoos free with a donation. I cant even wrap my head around all the businesses working by donation only or very reduced prices.
