flip; ty lickety
hi stid, bug!
hey bugs and dee ;-) not supposed to be here, but finishing a glass of wine...
aww, finishing some coffee & bailey's. Cheers!
:-) Salut!
*wondering about the wisdom of coffee at this hour...* *curious mama look*
You are probably wise in that matter :)
LOL
I have to teach tomorrow, but only the first thing in the morning -- early release, and the kids go to lunch about 10 am, then specialist after lunch... so not a lot for me to do except the craft we are going to do and walking them places!
dee will be cluing people at four in the morning
LOL, like that is anything new
love craft time!
me too! going to try some cross-stitch on burlap. Fine motor skills, tie-in to colonial crafts, something pretty they can put on their tables.
in7/40
hey ruru!
and kni15 (are you new?)
nope just not on the chat much
:-)
nice to meet you, I teach elementary school so not usually online this hour, but having trouble sleeping, so... *rolls eyes*
nu 8
hi everyone and thanks broll
nice to meet you too

un6/7
(((flosey))) how are you? miss you terribly!
fine thanks stid, and you - you seem to be very busy these days
I am well, thanks -- and yes, busy. But not like last year, at least this year I am able to take most of the weekend to be human for a change!
good for you Stid - you need that time for yourself
love your candles
yes, and after so many years it really feels decadent. ;-) almost as liberating as when the boys first were both in school and I could use the restroom without interruptions! LOL
I looked all over to find something special, flosey. :-( I am sad.
sad, why?
for renny sailing ahead and leaving us behind.
ah, of course. We use candles so often that I don't think of them in that way
ah... of course. :-)
anyway, the wine is working and I am almost halfway already. And the kiddos need me up and awake in 7 hours or less, so... *leaves choclits on sideboard* see you-all again soon I hope. *poof*
noughet looks like a word but isnt.......darn
Love to mr flo too! *repoof*
hi all does anyone have the 4th col E for nbt? :) (stats please)

Hi nan
hello nan
very nice, ruru
Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends (hope I've got the day right!)
an 7 x 2
It is Thursday, and ty, Liz!
OK - so 26 November - tomorrow. I'll try to remember.
trying to stuff it in too early liz ;d
lol!
It is not always the 26th
So my guess would be the last Thurs in November?
correct
OK - thanks.
thx for asking :)
:)

pe7 x 2
oops pe 7 x 3
finished
nicely done, ru
wd ru, I'm over half way but too tired tonight, bb in the morning
Congrats, Ru. Sleep well Flosey. Also taking a break.
sleep well, flosey
really weird impossible words in this grid.
I had to look up a couple
definitely some oddballs
yes.. starting with me
:D
lol fireworks
enough for tonight --- see you tomorrow :)
nite, nan
night nan
I haven't had bailey's irish cream in decades.
I bet it still tastes good
I LOVE it in bold coffee.
What do you have planned for Thanksgiving, ru?
nothing.. dee.. I'm kind of coasting
a good friend of mine is dying from cancer and I'm not up to doing much
Hope you can still have a nice day. I was afraid you were cooking for 40.
We just lost a friend last week; such a nasty disease.
this one is really painful for me.. a very important person in my life
So very sorry, ru.
we had a great talk the other day ... so I do feel more complete. .. thank you dee...
I got to tell her all the things she's taught me and how meaningful her friendship has been to me
cancer is awful.. just awful
Nothing easy about the fight, knowing how to comfort or encourage, but so glad you had that opportunity!! I am sure your words warmed her heart.
I think so too.. I certainly hope so.. she knows I love her dearly
I am sad for you too ruru. It is hard to watch someone you care about leave slowly but it is so good you can help her live fully every moment.
thanks bugs..
too many people are afraid to visit. you are a good man
hospice is there helping them.. so I was able to help convince them of that at the very least
Hospice is amazing!!
they can be angels on this earth I think
along with Une :D
:)
my dog has a little shrine in the yard for une :D
hospice is wonderful for the whole family. sometimes people are afraid that contacting hospice means they have given up hope. It actually means they want advice on how to live every moment fully.
amen bugs.. that's how I feel too.
I totally agree, Bugs
she has all her family coming in. I sent up a case of wine to make for a better party and cheer everyone up.
blessing to you all. I am off to bed. poof
bye bugs.. night
And to you, Bugs.
Hope you can enjoy Thanksgiving, ru. I need to get going, too.
bye dee. hope you can sleep on that coffee
True, that :) (((ru)))
tench
oops,sorry
was going to tell Ru I'm sorry about his friend
thank you jam
kam.. .. autocorrect strikes again
no prob, kam isn't a word anyway! Kamanjah is Arabic for violin, but I play viola more than violin. I always read thru the chog, and as you know, pop in every so often. I don't usually throw a word out there though!
good morning my pretties
Hi and hu4 sprite
*hu4 Liz* Your email was hilarious :)
Such good timing!
serendipity :D
I'll send you pics of Mooball sometime soonish. We smile every time we drive thru. They just take the pi4 out of the name so well.
it is lovely
I've just never photographed there before.
How are you and yours this morning?
family off to school, uni and work. Me, lazing about and not planning on doing much today.
how about you and your beloved?
Sounds good. Still building yourself up after last week.
We're fine. Had a lovely day, driving and photographing and lunch at my other most fav place here.
Mid eastern veggie.
Mid eastern veggie.
yeah, taking my time. Nothing pressing this week, so no need to push myself.
chat not entering
mid eastern veggie?
ah, for lunch! Sounds good.
Try googling Mooball NSW.
found it. national park.
Hmm! No or perhaps I'll try and find a better ref.
Mooball, Burringbar NSW
a small town
yeah that is what I see here on the map. The links all say national park though.
No pics?
You'd know what I mean if you see pics
646 km from sydney. LOL! That is farther than all the way from our north to our south.
{{hugs}} and good morning dearest sprite. thanx for your pics honey. {{hugs}} dear lizgirl
Not so far from here. About 50 minutes.
Hi and hu4 to you Rose
*hu4 rose* Hello darling. Good evening to you. How did your day go?
oops... like everyone already has that one...lolll
Probably.

oh, oh, oh...roflol. workcover are going to pay for me to do my diploma on-line as a medical transcriptionist.
yay yay yay :D
Big :)
so one department is taking me to court so that they don't have to pay me, and another department of the same company have just handed me another 12 months. it's hysterical.
Gotta love their communication.
sometimes, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand does. Sometimes, the left hand doesn't even know it is attached to the same body as the right one.
exactly sprite, and yeah liz, i don't think communication is their strong point.
Lol
liz, just saw your pic. what an amazing coincidence.
I couldn't believe it.
I think Liz reads the chog secretly after she poofs, then plans her traveling accordingly.
i bet you squealed when you saw it. or did you just do a double take?
Aw! You Sussex me out ;)
Sussed
I knewt it :D
Both! Double take and laughed.
roflol. don't you just love auto-correct
Then went back to the car for my camera.
did peter laugh too after you explained it to him.
one of the best sources for unintentional humour
Yes, which is why I don't turn it off.
Oh just remember. HarryHood came up with a dictionary word, sprite. I'll just swap to the computer.
From yesterday's grid - retrogina: an orange drink from the past.
awww I love it. Adding it right away
Almost dinner time - chicken roasted with sumac and pomegranate molasses! Yummy. Tried it for the first time last week.
yummy!
When I've processed my pics, I'll send some more - including a pic of lunch today - real Liz food! Hu4 to you both
sprite, sweetie. dinner is ready. i will check in when i have finished. xoxox
*hu44* for you and your beloved, Liz

Many years ago a wild turkey appeared on our driveway on Thanksgiving morning. He stayed around for a couple of days and thenwas off. The next year he appeared with his mate!!
wow. How nice
I had just gotten up, coffee cup in hand and looked out and saw him - thought I was being pranked.
did they ever come back again?
Not after tohse 2 years. I do have a photo of him laying on the drive way, basking in the sun, with our orange cat laying next to him.
What a nice thing to see.
The cat was curious, got a little too close and got apeck on the hea so he settle a respectable distance and took in the sun with the turkey.
:)...my daughter has wild turkeys walk thru her back yard as if they lived there.
be back soon
snuck back in and finished up... :o)
I had a wild turkey cross the street in front of me last week....middle of the day on Route 1, a busy road....
I always get the kids in the house when there are turkeys in the yard - they can be vicious
yes, vicious and stupid......they will eat anything shiny....
we did not see them in Maine when i was a kid....they were re-introduced....now i see them around here occasionally....about 6000 are killed in fall hunting...
heading out....bye to all the lurkers!
happy thanksgiving to everyone!
I'm with Ruby. The only Wild Turkey I'm interested in gets poured in a glass. : D

The turkey has been put in its brine bath and the pumpkin cheesecake pie is in the oven. Game on.
go Molly!!
ryans prepping food as we speak, and a christmas movie on tv game on
To quote Erma Bombeck..."Thanksgiving dinner...it takes 18 hours to prepare and 12 minutes to be eaten."
what kind of container do you brine the turkey in? I don't think I'd have anything big enough.
Loved Erma
so true, plus with all the nibbling along the way it's almost an afterthought
you need a really big pot
I bought a five gallon paint bucket years ago and all I use it for is brining the turkey every year.
great idea. I have a pot that size.
Got An8!
I have to take a shelf out of the fridge to accommodate the overnight soak, but it's well worth it.
And a really big refrigerator?!
yes Blah
Yes good idea re the paint bucket
Some people use coolers to brine. I don't have a particularly big fridge, I have to shuffle things around to do this.
Although when I lived in New England, by this time of year we could pretty much use the garage as a fridge :)
me too
Yes, a cooler in the garage with lots of ice.
Must go. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!
thank you hego, you too!
If the garage is cold enough to keep food fresh, why a cooler with lots of ice?
some years (for me anyway) it was cold enough, some years not quite
tried not to poison the guests lol

an 7's, 8 please?
an7.40/8.55 is a bird and plural, name, most of a door part, vowel
that's the 2nd one i think.
i don't have the first one.
1st an7.40 sounds sort of like a sneeze in the middle
don't see anachoo
don't see any birds either
ad 6, please?
music term, walking
wait, no music term, faster than andante
an7 and plural: name, most of a door part, vowel
1st an7 -- sneeze -- an5 , then ending something another.
only door parts I can think of are knob, sill, lintel panel latch....must be barking up the wrong tree
giving up on the a's -- clues just aren't making any sense to me
nan, an7. an + most of what a door swings on + vowel. plural for an8
*(looks at tree nan is barking up(
first an7. an + ***m, pal, mate, friend + the cat **t on the mat

come in -- last batch almost ready to come out of the oven --- do you like your ginger cookies cooled or warm?
one of each please...
nothing like warm cookies
hmmmmmmmmmmm....
reminds me of when the kids were little ones. i would cook up a storm on saturdays. making 4 dozen cookies was nothing. one prob lem though. whenever i put one tray up to cool, by the time i turned back with the next tray out of the oven at least 8 of the first batch were gone.
yes -- and the same thing used to happen with the cinnamon rolls
lol...and the sausage rolls....
or a whole corner would be gone off a cake, and sometimes they even used a kn ife..
I love oatmeal raisin cookies personally
i used to make choc chip cookies, but i used a shortbread recipe using rice flour and castor sugar. those cookies just melted in your mouth.
I can
I can't find castor sugar for my shortbread anymore
that's really strange nan. isn't made over there anymore?
I don't know -- have been using part berry sugar and part icing sugar instead
nan, what about ordinary white sugar and gring it yourself using a pestle and mortar?
ugh *grind*
isn't berry sugar as fine as castor sugar?
