good morning all
{{hugs}} and good morning my dear friend. how was your night?
*hugs rose* It was ok, and how was your day, darling?
very, very quiet. stinking hot here. but still slept well, no pain, no cramps, no extraordinary sweats.
wow awesome! Am so very glad the magnesium is doing what it is supposed to do.
so am i, sprite.
oh oh oh I have news! Caya has been accepted into the university of her choice!
oh wow!! well done Caya!! i bet she's floating...
thanks got it
totally over the moon.
well done marc
you'll have to put lead on the soles of her shoes... lolll to keep her on the ground.
hehehe too true. Am so happy for her.
so which course is she doing?
well that is the reason she wanted to go there, she can choose her own subjects. She will study applied languages, with addition of biology, psychology, economics, etc. All with relation to languages and how learning languages works in our brains.
What are the stats for the lone 's' in the 4th column, please?
wow again! that's amazing !
I got sorry
sh4/5 I think, Marc
she is scarily smart, rose... I cannot tell you how glad I am she is admitted there. A normal university here would have been too limited for her.
What university did she get accepted to?
she sounds like i was when i was younger, still am as a matter of fa4. i love researching words, their origins , their stems, etc. drives don nuts sometimes. my grandfather was a teacher, and he and nanna taught me to love words very young.
international university in Middelburg
Is that in UK?
yeah I share her love for language too. Wish I could go with her, lol.
No, that is in the Netherlands, Marc
fw and off to bed
good for her. She will have a great experience.
wtg flosey! And sleep well.
sweet dreams flosey. WTG FLOSEY!!!
yeah it is awesome, Marc. She is more than ready. Will miss her though.
thank you Sprite and Rose
wonderful news about your Daughter, Sprite, very happy for her
I would rather have fireworks in bed 😂
thanks flosey :)
so is she boarding on campus ?
Hi everyone.
hi medusa, xoxox
Hi rose. Hows you today?
es6/18, please?
sorry found it
hi medusa! *hug* How are you!
To get out of jail marc
Hey sprite * hug*. I am great today. Money is finally sorted and I had all the back pay go in to my account yesterday. Had a good spend up. Now using a new laptop.
rose, there is no communal dorm. But the university supplies appartments to share with a couple of room mates, or small flats where you live alone. Caya wants to get into one of those latter ones.
Thanks ruru
oh wow, finally, medusa! What a relief that must be. Enjoy the new laptop :)
hi ru
sorry medusa, was putting the TENS on. i be doing okay thanx. effects of infusion 5 days ago still very much working well.
You have no idea! I also got a TENS machine. Used it last night for a bit and woke up nearly pain free this morning! Wonderful little thing.
Hi all :)
Good to hear rose
lovely medusa, about flipping time.
Hi liz
hi Liz :) *hugs* How are you and your beloved doing?
{{hugs}} lizgirl
Liz, Caya has been accepted into the university of her choice :D
Hugs, friends. We're fine. Just have 10 mins or so to kill before we go out to meet friends for dinner.
Oh Sprite -that's fantastic news. Hugs for Caya from me.
And good timing too what with Christmas. Was convinced I was gonna have another crap one. Turns out it will be the best one for a long while! lol
will do :)
10 minutes to kill - 44 words to find! Ain't happening tonight.
i know that feeling well medusa.
am happy for you, medusa! Good news all over.
So does Caya know which uni she'd like to study at?
That's good news Medusa - just read back.
thanks sprite and liz.
um yes Liz... the one she is accepted at. Middelburg University, international university in the outer south of our country.
How far is that from home?
su5, please?
raw fish meal, marc
about 300 km, Liz. About a 3 - 3.5 hour's drive from here.
thanks rose
thanks granny
Duh me! I misunderstood that, Sprite - of course it's a uni she applied to!!!!
hi Medusa, glad to hear things are looking up for you
*giggles* luvs ya, Liz!
Not too far then. Accommodation sounds good.
Thanks flosey.
Hi Flosey.
It is great to click on something and it open right away and not 10 mins later!
hi Liz, off to bed now, goodnight all
as studying in the Netherlands goes, it couldn't be farther from home. But in absolute terms, it isn't that far.
night night, flosey, sweet dreams (or naughty ones)
Sweet dreams flosey
sprite, just around the corner would have been too far for you...
Well, I guess it's absolute terms which count!
Sleep well Flosey.
absolutely, grin. In this country, it is impossible to be really far from anything.
But it's good for Caya - kids need their independence - even if parents would prefer to keep them at home!!!
stats for lone s in 4th column pls?
sh4/5 Liz
Time for us to go - can't believe how early our friends like dinner!
yeah it will be good for her. She is ready to move out. Now if only our son would feel the same, lolollll. But he prefers to stay at home and have us cater to him.
enjoy your dinner, Liz, and the company
Thanks sprite.
Thanks for the stats. Have a lovely day Sprite and Medusa - have a lovely evening Rose :)

I had a really good day yesterday. Was in some pain when I got in but was worth it.
and feeding the dogs is so expensive!
It is not too bad coz they don't eat that much at the moment. I have no doubt Purl will eat more as she grows though.
She is in the process of demolishing a pig ear!
my dogs eat much more than >I do, especially the boy
They loves those ears, but are the bad?
yours are bigger than mine though and sighthounds eat next to nothing.

Not as an occasional treat. Mine go nuts for them too.
They share a 3-egg omelet for breakfast
I am getting used to the new laptop. It is so sensitive comared to the other one. If I catch a key with a finger it types!
Nice!
Georgie is on a mad one this morning! Don't know what he has had but would like to. lol

Looks like a fun grid for my first day of Christmas holidays :)
gm, sukee! yay for vacation!!
Hi lbd
Good morning, everyone :)
Hi crossy, I woke up to a dusting of snow this morning.
Off for 2 weeks now :)
As did we, Sukee. it is minus 4 with a windchill of minus 12. they will have the snow guns going full blast on Blue Mtn. today :)
I have a week, but I'll take it :)
Looks like we will be able to accommodate our Christmas break visitors after all :)
That is good.
Of course, here it is going to be 7 on Tuesday with rain :)
I no longer ski myself, but the financial trickle-down effect is just insane for our town.
I get thursday and friday off! so four days for the holidays. I'll take it over working retail. :)
I imagine.
I spent 2 decades working retail--I do not miss it. :)
I tried working in retail once, I lasted one day :)
Column 4 blanked out :)
hello hello
Hi ruby.
I found &"Ã words, earlier, but that may be that

((ruby))
((crossy))
I used to get 2 full weeks off when I worked at the University, then it went down to 4 days, still good when you get paid. Now with writing the place I work for closes for a week and the deadlines are a bit early in December.
Hope you are well Ruby.
I can't find the other bracketsds on this dopey Fr keyboard. *

Mornin' folkies, it's finally chilly here.
that's me! Hello Molly-O
Hi bich.
(bichon)
It's cold here and I am not loving it one bit
Never mind, it is the 8. I need breakfast obviously.
how cold?
40 to go, will be back soon.
will miss you, lol
28 degrees, supposed to go up to 42 later
I was grateful that there was nothing to scrape on my car when I went for my early
morning grocery trip
That's like here, but as long as it isn't snowing and the wan sun is out, I'm happy
44 left and not one in sight :ç
I agree. If the snow stays away and the sun is out, I'm fine with winter weather.
And maybe
I will
just post a
bunch of things
in order to
flush the chat
It seems it
will take
more posts
than I
thought it would
Eight more
or so
should get the
chat back
to normal
We shall see
Two more
and it
should be fixed
There we go
yayyyy
And let us all remember that typing long strings of letters or characters with no spaces is not recommended
so it shall be from this day forth...
Fireworks. Hope it warms up today. It is about 30 here. Blessings all.
bojazz, where in sc do you reside? I'm in ga.
peach - I'm in S.C., near Greenville - close to Ga, about 20 miles east of the "peachoid" ...

hi owl
I'm doing better every day. :-)
That's good:)
Last RO 5 please?
Hi Nef, TO
hi everyone - nef!! *checking out her gams*
*waves bye to all*
hi welk
Leaving owl already/?
(freezing; if I wanted to be honest. I'm just not used to it being this chilly all of a sudden. This is the 2nd day in a row we've had temps below freezing here in the Twin Cities. Normally, I'd be acclimatized, but this is a weird winter.
yes. only cane on to see how nef is doing, Cleaning for company
bye TO!
ok enjoy owl!
Nefi agree its cold here today too. no snow for xmas again this year
Hi Welki (my gams are fine; the knee - it's improving but still a pain. Had my first shopping excursions this week. Costco's had a scooter & that went well; all of the scooters at Target were in use; that didn't go well last evening
nef, did you hear the story about my being knocked over by a patron on a scooter in target?
nef did you have fun riding around in Costco's in one of their scooters?
owl what the heck??
No T.O.! How rude!
just watch out for those who are crouched down to shop the bottom shelves!
i wobbled like a weeble but then i fell down.
MLF, I'm not fond of scooters. People were polite; but there is a trick to trying to park next to a product & then get it in the cart (I haven't learned that trick yet)
you need the grabber!!!
Oh, my T.O. How could they not see a person there?
nef I agree with owl lol
I didn't think to take one along. (we only have 3 ; of 2 different designs.
i have a grabber and never use it
ST6>?
1 of ours has a wider sideways grip than the other 2; you can even grab a big jar with it if necessary
gotta have strong hands too sometimes
sorry MLF, I don't have it (but am looking now)
thanks Nef
i have 8 words to find and am not finding anything
Where is Ru when people are talking about "the grabber"?
MLF leave the L out of the little metal things you put in some papers to keep them together
Molly, neither of our grabbers are the least bit risque'. Just the name, I guess
oops i have that one sorry my fault
Oh, I never think anything mentioned here is risqué
Unless Ru mentions it, or maybe Tor
right! ;-)
i need an FA 6/30 the one i have is pl?
the only one I have so far is also a pl
how about the water tap?
MLF it is between the fa 5/18 and the other fa 6/30
i found it
morewords:)
See? No need to clue. People find the word in minutes.
molly you probably find more then i do without clues
sorry, MLF I clued entirely wrong
More "than" you do? Probably not. I just like to find words on my own.
FA6/27 pls?
Nef no problem
Molly i like to find words on my own as well one of the main reason i miss being on here at flip:(
Not sure I get that. People clue words at the flip all the time.
i know but sometimes i don't look i usually find words to mention to others
You clue at the flip??
no i don't clue at flip
if others do i only see the stats or a mention of the first two letters like ri7 or something
fa6 27 a pl of a disparaging name of a plump person
<---Loves the term "plump person"
i found it
molly when i used to chat in the Oprah chat room years ago(which i don't think exists anymore) we used the term "fluffy"
I don't like name-calling;
nef that is a 5 and 7 isn't it?
you were right neve rty
5 & 6 combo
I'm rather fluffy :-)
me too
finally finished the R words on last column
The Oprah Chat Room???
hello again...
Being a little fluffy is good; it's nice to have a little extra weight (say 10- 15 lb) so it can serve as a reserve if a person becomes ill.
yes years ago but most times we never talked aobout her
about
hi pen
Hi pen
nef only good time to be sick is to lose weight if you have some pounds on you already.. free diet lol
hi pen
I don't know, what? So you can live off your fat if you go into starvation mode?
I lost 10 lbs with this knee surgery. I was a bit surprised because I thought I was eating too much; but just the recovery process itself requires that much energy
SO 6/24 pls?
nef are you able to walk around a lot?
not yet. I'd like to say that I could walk around the block; but I doubt if I can walk a full (long) block (we have short & long blocks here for some reason)
They have not put me on the treadmill at PT yet; but I can bike 6 minutes.
biking for 6 minutes sounds wonderful for you Nef?
Would appreciate help with the O I n the bottom left hand corner
I think its os 4?
I'm happy I can bike that long; I'm just impatient to get on with life though
oh sorry deeha I think its the os8?
it's the os 8
Nef don't do anything they don't want you to do you will prolong the healing process if you do that
SO 6/24?
Not sure what "I thought I was eating too much" means. You can bike after a knee surgery?
molly I think getting a stationery bike is to help your muscles in your legs
Lol! MLFAN - i'm looking at your post @ 3.46, & I'm looking at the text in your profile.... Lol!
I know MLF. And I try to obey; but I dislike the narcotic pain meds; so I suppose it's part of my frustration with the healing process. (I don't tolerate narcotics very well.
And hello all . Hi Nef - long time no see :-)
soodle you like my pic?
Hi Soodle
Hi Soodle
I don't worry about taking meds its just that I want to know all sde effects of them some meds are still given even with warnings
I love it, MLF. I met Mr Loaf once, in a hotel in Dublin & he was torally charming.
Caretakers generally don't like narcotic pain medication because they make them unable to care take.
soodle you are so lucky! Yes he is very charming so I hear
and charasmatic
SO 6/24 please?
I'm very much a light-weight when it comes to both alcohol & narcotics. I rarely drink (maybe 1 or 2 drinks a year), and even the mildest narcotic (say 1/2 a tylenol #3) puts me out for a good 6 hours
WOW Nef
I don't drink much either
i had a lower track infection once they gave me some meds that also knocked me out for a few hrs and didn't tell me
Bat Out Of Hell was the musical accompionment (sp?) to my teenage years. I wept bitter salty tears to the music of meatloaf. I rejoiced to the music of Meatloaf. Yep! I'm a fan!
Oh Soodle you are my twin!
I haven't purchased any of cds in the past few years though not because i don't want to though
Soodle, I can't imagine you were anything like that as a teen.
I have a freakishly high threshold for pain. But it sounds a bit off not to take pain medication after major surgery.
my husband had to take a baby aspirin everyday since his heart surgery
I can imagine that. (Soodle has successfully made people think she is chaste and not at all a bad girl)
Molly, I've had several joint surgeries & didn't need narcotics before. But this one was different & I did have to call & get some vicodin for it (hip replacement was a breeze; this knee replacement was awhole'nother story!)
Crikey - i don't know what year Bat out of hell was released, but I would have been very early teens. Before my 'out & abouting' days! Speaking of narcotics... After I bit my dentist (drawing blood!) , he refused to treat me unless I was zonked on valium. I can see how people get addicted to valium. What a fantastic feeling....
soodle Bat Out of Hell came out in 76 or 78
i was not a fan of his until my teenage years
Well then Nef, you are entirely out of the ordinary. As you must know, since you are/were a nurse. Most people do not fare well after major surgery without pain medication. You must be the exception to the rule.
The chat-log this evening should be sub-titled 'Confessions Of Soodle'....
SO 6/24 anyone please?????
I hated it! My daughter has severe anxiety about dentists, so she needs avatar before any appointments to get through them
MLF, I've been looking & haven't found it yet.
Nef it seems to be really hiding what is up with that?
Definitely 76, MLF. I would have been an angst ridden 14 year old then!
She needs an avatar?? What does that mean?
Soodle ROTFL
i was a teenager when i bought it
Ativan, Molly. Sorry, I must have really blown that word if spellcheck put that in!
The so 6/14 I have is most of achr/hurt + opp of stops
so 6/24
ty Dianne my savior now would you like to find my last 3 for me ?
Thanks, Dianne. I just found it (you have to skip 2 vowels along the way)
So 6/24 - first 3 letters of the Elton John song ***ry seems to be the hardest word & first three letters of a baby goose.
I really just started -
I've never seen that word before
me either
Don't you just hate it when you devise an elaborate clue & you are gazzumped!!! Lol
Soodle - your clue was so much better than mine and also spelled correctly !
SO 5/20?
It totally sucks to be gazzumped
Lol, Diane....
soodle its always good when your brain and fingers don't work together
Soodle i am anxious for his new cd to come out
so + dry white wine
Me too, MLF.... My kids stick their fingers in their ears & roll their eyes whenever I play Meatloaf. I seem to have raised a tribe of philistines.
Good for your kids
my husband and i went to a concertof his together once he didn't say much lol
I might add, they also fail to appreciate Sinatra, Harry Chapin,
Dianne can you expand that clue a bit i know types of like sauveigne or however its spelled it but i still don't know what the word is
Sinatra is awesome
MLF just add up the points and you will see what letter has to be used to get to 20 points
It's actually a fruity red wine...
leave the s off the so 6/24
NM,
Yep, 20 points is a big clue
i'm confused again
nef welcome to my world
Hmm, let's see. What letter could be involved in a 20 point word?
Kam - I thought so too but my Scrabble dictionary say otherwise
I love songs that tell a story. I love ballads. Meatloaf sinatra, chapin.... Thats my sort of stuff.
Dianne - I drink a bit of it often, there is a "white" version which is actually pink, too sweet for me.
I'm over half way; I need a break for now because I'm not seeing straight anymore BBL
If it's sweetish I'll pass on it
Ladies, it's 22.25 pm here. I really enjoyed the trip doe

hello dear friends - this is the first chance I have had to sign on all day! Had a HARROWING drive home from Vermont today - UGH
sorry to hear that, trif
thanks. we are home safe. Others were not so lucky, I am afraid. we passed a horrible accident, where it was obvious there were very very serious injuries.
very unsettling.
that happened to me yesterday. i took an unusual route home and was thinking the better of it, accidents there and bingo! there was one. firetrucks and ambulances
oh dear. I guess we are getting to that time of year....
glad you are okay!
we had to get off the major highway, and take back back roads through very unfamiliar territory. because we were in the back of beyond, no cell service. Whenever offered the choice we took a route that said either "south" or "east" and eventually we hooked up with a highway about an hour later.
saw some truly lovely scenery, through the snow
stop using four letter words
i know, i know....hope there is a sherry in the pb
no, the s word!
oh! that one! saw plenty of it today! for an hour there our trip was one, long, controlled skid

same to you! relax with a cold beverage. see you later!
