I suspect you may be better prepared to travel in such conditions, Jes... I have chains in the back of my car, but haven't actually put chains on in over 15 years! :-D
I think we have about 6" down already? M plowed the parking lot about 4AM and had almost 2" again by 8.
That's a fair bit, jes. More than I enjoy driving in, for sure.
heh. Bruce put my snow tires on a couple weeks ago. It's not the snow that bothers me so much as the other drivers.

I feel the same way, I have to travel over roads that are occasionally icy in spots on my way to school in the winter, and while I know how to drive on the ice, the people who think they can just put it in 4WD and go the posted speed limit scare me.

Tilda (the goat) doesn't like it much though. Spends most of her time in the hay shed now.

she's durn spoilt for a goat though - on a car ride with Bruce and Minnie right now, and she comes in the house in the evening to sleep by the fireplace.

We had about 8 inches at my house last week - slowly melting away.. but may get a bit this week again. My poor little daschund does not like snow... and now we're moving to Minnesota... LOL Though it has seen less snow/cold thus far this year than we have in Colorado...
I'd say move on in, but the cat dander might be an issue...

I know cow/bull horns get nipped sometimes.
She will get to keep her horns. She needs them for defense. You can trim horns, but they actually have a central cavity and blood supply, so you can't trim them very far.

sounds like cutting your pet's nails, jes, you can't cut too far down or they will bleed
You can dehorn them, same as cattle, but that should be done when they are very young, before the horn develops much.
and make your pet very mad at you
it is probably not *good* to trim horns - much more risk of pain/bleeding/infection than with nails, as they are not intended to wear down or break off as nails are.
My husband used to raise goats when he was in 4-H as a lad. He adores goats.
And if you do make them bleed, it's a bit harder to get it stopped.
