I now have about 4 migraines per month, contrasted with everyday over the summer, so Topamax and caffeine-free have helped. I am very sensitive to caffeine--makes me hyper and disturbs my sleep.

I suffered with migraines for over 30 years. I was diagnosed as cluster migraines. Life was miserable and then I went online and read about msg and other additives in food. Also one in ice cream that is really bad. Long story short after giving up ice cream and all bought canned or packaged food I am now headache free.

qulitergirl, i am betting if everyone did this we would all be in better health. my mother made all food from scratch. and i did the same when we had no money. and still do mostly now. i eat 2 huge huge tossed salads with lettuce, tom and cukes and celery and put lemon juice and olive oil on it iwth salt. then i eat some proteins like a few slices of cheese and/or a piece of chicken. this is my diet.

I stopped taking a multivit several years ago but I do take 5000 IU/day of vitamin D from Oct-MArch which is actually a hormone that our body produces upon exposure to UV rays.
i eat a TON of cooked broccoli and spinach and cauliflower and onions and mushrooms as well as lots of olives and pickles which are great for health. did you know olives are full of anti oxidents and my hubby says everyone should eat at least 12 olives a day to stay healthy? he has analyzed them and he thinks they can stop the progression of diseases and ageing.
i do take calc. and vit D. yes i do take that.
And berries--blueberries, blackberries...
yes weather is another factor.

Ask your vet to look into CADI (shots) (once per month) from Pfizer (animal division).. it's under restricted use.. but available. It has helped my dog 85-90%
i've taken him off royal canin, all grains - tried hypoallergenic brand Fromm, but it was hard to get, so now on Acana hypoallergenic
the other options are Atopica, and Apoquel..those are pills
same thing here.. Dylan eats Royal Canin Venison
that's what baxter was eating, too - but there's grain in it and i was desperate to try anything
he's still taking vanectyl (and benadryl on bad days).
Atopica and Apoquel blunt the immune response to allergies, the CADI works molecularly and the response is unbelievable
I supplement Dylan with 9 benedryl a day
can't find anything for CADI online - do you know what it stands for or what it contains?

Hounds are worth the price of admission, but that price is dear :-) My black and tan is soooo stubborn
now that sounds great, ru!! you have to pass rigorous criteria to qualify for that adoption

Worst part of the hounds is their nose turns the rest of their brain off. Yes, very clever and sly.
my aunt had a beagle who was amazing. they are food hounds, if it has to do with food they have great guile

(because baxter's breeder fed the puppies around one large circular (tubular) bowl - and i swear he's food nuts (not agressive, but eats like he's starving) because of the mayhem at meal time

the circular bowls are used for a number of reasons though.. mostly socialization with their litter mates

well, that part worked, ru - he's as socialized as they get. but a pig at feeding time. we have those nutty dog food bowls to slow him down - for what it's worth (not much)
my foxhound could care less about food. the black and tan is up to 90 bs now. needs to go on a diet.
ata our cat acts like a lost puppy dog and meows every time we are in the kitchen near the food bowls which are hardly ever that empty. she likes fresh i guess:)
whereas loki couldn't give a stuff about HIS food bowl, but every other bit of food in the world, he wants it

if i put a large stone in his bowl, one or two things might happen. he'd break a tooth trying to eat the rock or he'd eat the rock and off to the emerg we go. i never said he was the brightest star in the sky :)
origami our cat kneads and purrs on my husband when we sleep or he takes a nap. she is either wanting attention hungry or worried not sure which
my husband feeds her as soon as he gets up
I guess we are going to have to endure some pain and make loki only eat food in his bowl

mine is half-feral and only comes in when there is food stuff going on in the kitchen, it is below 40 degrees F outside, or when her food bowl is empty :-)

no, but we live out in the middle of nowhere.
she does have a fenced pen she goes in at night
so do we, but there is a road in front of our property with a 50mph speed limit on it and most go faster than that and a number of dogs have met their demise on it..
ah; yeah, we're on a dirt road, at the top of a tricky curvy hill. 50 miles an hour would be likely to lead to the driver's demise!
