hello everyone
hi nan
Hi nan
no 7s yet for me. hmmm. night all.
too many vowels.
I protest the absence of re 5/14 -- when I was playing my violin on a daily basis, I had to re 5/14 my bow at least 3 times per year
re... what your bow?
replace the horse tail material
Ru is your re 7 a 6/7 combo
and... that has a three letter name i take it?
oops - I should have said re 6/21
i'm not trying to be a pain, i genuinely want to know the word, and i don't know if i do know what it is :)
Yes, Mel re 6/7
re + ha 4
ahhhh ok
phantom: trisomy
i thought it was restring.........hmmm.
don't worry mkg, cnan's whole point was that it's not a word (for babble purposes)
no - re string is when you replace the strings on he violin
i just am like, you know, real curious all the time about lots o things
* for any stringed instrument for that matter
oh. ok so i guess i dont know the word.
got it.
maybe after you have chemo, your body has to re-ha4
so is there an re 6/7?
reho4 is unfortunately another one that does not go, commonly used in animal shelter circles :(
yes
Yes
re + na4
ty
got it
oops, are we still supposed to not clue early after the flip, or has that etiquette gone by the wayside
sorry
30 mins clue free is about the norm :)
no it's not YOUR fault, i went straight to cluing instead of just answering your actual question
it is just, i'm not at the flip often enough to remember how to behave and the chat has changed so much over the years anyway that it is hard to keep track
We used to try to wait an hour but I think that has gone bye bye
Its all good Hurshy :)
:)
Ruru and Dee are probably done already anyway :)
Not I... still have 28 to go :)
nbt, nbs and slowing down
wtg nan
nss
15 left here
nice, hurshy
13 - he7
hahah i missed cnans root word, 11 now
still missing one 7 here
moi aussi
missing 3 -- just have the re
i dunno if i'm somehow more clearheaded when i stay up for the flip or what but sometimes it really does seem like the grids are easier when i do them at this time
makes sense to me, hurshy
name that proper noun! late 19th - early 20th century Austrian composer
7's are re he ca and?
missing the last one, too, mel
we don't know, you'd have to look at the list
Noooooooo not looking lol
Dee or nan or Ruru will find it lol
that's right, just call me Chopped Liver, lol
Lol :p
Up to the l's, and the last 7 isn't there... has to start with t, r, s, n...
I think it is going to be a Th

mahler is the composer
Have a great night / day all! *poofing with hugs*
was red boxed out for a while there
good morning all
good morning Sprite - about ready for bed here!!
good evening, flosey, and good night :)
crashing -- see you tomorrow. good morning sprite
bye nan
ks killed
{{hugs}} and good morning my darling sprite. hi flosey. sweet dreams nan
finally we meet again, rose, lol! *hugs* darling. How have you been? Was worried a little, seeing how long it was since your last email. Are you ok?
yay sprite on the k's... have you had a better night sweetie?
ugh.... the cramps are lethal. the one last night had me screeching like a banshee.
I had a drink last night... it helped against the nightmares. Was up very early though... 5.15 am. Might take a nap this afternoon.
see, I had a feeling things were not dandy. *healing vibes* Am so sorry, darling. Nights like that suck.
eek... 5:15 ???? AM ????? yuck. you poor thing.
*grin* Yeah, especially in winter, 5.15 am is night in my book.
phantom: cinema
that one turned my foot over, or tried to do. i just could not get my foot flat to the floor.
omg those are so bad. They trigger a kind of panic that is hard to handle, on top of the pain.
absolutely honey. don ended up getting out of bed, helping me to stand, then put his foot over mine and pressed gently until the cramp eased.
yeah, getting outside help is the only way in cases like that. You simply don't have enough working muscles to get things back to rights. The power of those cramps can be something fierce.
i'm afraid he got an earful of very naughty language in between entreaties to the Big Guy for help.
lol I am very sure both Don and the Big Guy know how to listen to both
oh...question... i have been using some pretty bright red nailpolish. when i removed it, my nails appear to have a yellow tinge. anything i can do to stop that from happening? like buffing my nails before the next time i paint them.
you need to apply a base coat before using any bright polish. Best is to always use a base coat. The colour will hold longer too.
and if you don't have any base coat handy, a top coat will do the trick too.
... that is, a top coat used as base coat, of course
ahhh, yes i do use a clear top coat to seal the colour and prevent chipping.
you are almost there then. Base coat, colour, top coat. Professional nail polishing done :)
if i buff with 3 different grades of emery will that get rid of the current stain?
you could give it a try. But it may not. The discoloration is usually permanent and has to grow out. Better not try bleaching, it is really bad for your nails.
okay then. oh, and i found my old nail transfers. tiny little rosebuds and butterflies. going to try them out just on the thumbs to see if they will stay in place. i would need to put them on under the topcoat, right?
22 to go but too sleepy, goodnight all
sweet dreams dear flosey. xoxox
yes. Base coat, optional colour, transfers, dry very well, then top coat
night flosey, sweet dreams. I thought you were long gone! *hugs*
flosey... our quiet achiever. xox
my bad, flosey said she was about ready for bed and I translated that into at the point of going.
sprite, i took ibuprofen and extra magnesium at lunch time. gp thinks, and i think she is correct, that the hip pain is worse since i went to 3/12 ketamine.
sounds like she is correct :(
what does your pain doc say?
will have the next magnesium at 2 weeks and discuss with pain doc. my options.
which is in 8 days
give him a call, sweetie. I really would hate to see you struggle for two more weeks if you don't have to
june's dad's wheelie walker is too tall for me in it's lowest setting. might hire one for a while to see if it will help
good idea. You really need it to be adjusted to exactly your size in order to judge the results.
my cousin loves hers. she says she can even visit exhibitions because if she needs to sit she can.
yes they are smart little things. Getting the tension off your lower back for a bit by sitting down really makes a difference.
i am watching heart-breaking footage of yet another country town wiped out by a bush fire.
but no loss of life as yet.
the extreme black ice here has taken several lives up north.
you and Rob take care you he4 me??
oh don't worry, we will, and the black ice hasn't been in our region yet. Up where Cobi lives, it was really bad. Here, all is well.
i will pray that coby and her family are safe
I actually have yaktracks at the ready. Ordered them earlier this year. If things get bad, I will be prepared.
good for you sprite. btw, how is Caya's cold?
cobi was down with the flu during, she didn't even venture out. It was code red for the north region here, meaning they advice you to stay indoors unless you really really have to go out.
caya is well again. Now, Tim is coughing. Never a dull moment with a family, is there?
how is don doing? The horrible headache a thing in the past again?
yuck for poor Tim... xox to him. don doing okay again. we are being more vigilant .
I am glad. Those headaches are really nasty
fireflies
keeping the sinus treatment going even when he thinks it's over.
WTG SPRITE!!!!
very smart. I hope that will help prevent them.
darling, I hope and pray you will have a better night tonight. Take care... lots of hugs and healing vibes.
gardener again early next week. i will make sure don takes the antihistamines before he, the gardener, arrives.
lol yes, please do. *hugs*
thanx my dearest girl. huge hugs and lots of kisses.
good morning
{{hugs}} darling ruby. did your day off benefit you?
Yes it did; this is the best I've felt in a whike, even tho dogs got me up at 6
I am always so happy to see you, first thing in the AM
It is another grey, cool, riny day, but at least there's no wind
ruby... good for you. my darling it is always lovely to see you too.
Waiting for housekeeper to come and m&ke a fire. Dogs ans I have alrady eatn: 3-egg omelet for them and Fr toast with maple syrup and lots of butter for me
I just inadvertantly got a total, hour-by-hour weather report for here and they are predicting snow starting at 4PM
yum, ruby. either/or for me. the dogs would be astonished with me down on my knees wolfing the food out of th5 bowls.
snow at 4pm is okay, surely. build up your fire, and make sure it is fed regularly... lolll
yesterday, rufe shared my tortelini lunch; He may be spoiled, but he is the sweetest, softest dog in the world. You should see him eat from a fork!
Once te fire is going, I am careful to keep it going all day as it even heats the upstaie=rs a little*

hoping for good weather next week. Bobby has a 8mm kidney stone that is going to be blasted on Wednesday. That all depends if they get his valrproic acid level results back in time. He also has a stent since dec.10 to heal his kidney. What fun
Oh, poor Bobby.
All unexpected. He never complained until he collapsed and wound up in the hospital.
Kidney stone pain is supposed to rank near the top, if not the worst.
He was in the hospital for two nights and now we are hoping for news that the results are in and we can go forward. I would like them to take the stent out,
hello all
hi fan
having had both, multiple times, kidney stones are worse than labor.
hi annie
Annie I hope everything goes well and that Bobby is feeling better soon.
lideola, Have you ever had a stent?
thank you, Molly
more times than I remember. Yes.
had kidney stones 2x worse than having a kid
lideola, How long was the stent in your ureter?
they are very uncomfortable and cause bladder spasms because of the irritation. You always feel like you have to go to the bathroom. The longest I had one was 2.5 months because they thought the stone wasn't calcium and had me drinking this nasty stuff everyday to dissolve the stone. It was calcium, so drinking that junk every day for two months didn't work.
I had gall stones in my common duct and that pain was brutal. I got hepatitis and jaundice.
2nd column e?
er4/4..bird
thanks phae
er5/12...girls name
O stats?
lideola, thanks for the information. Bobby is Down Syndrome so I am very very careful about him. This came out of the blue. I am concerned about the stent. He had it placed Dec. 10th so it is only one month. I am hoping that after the blasting all the of the stone comes out and then the stent comes out. He sometimes says "I had enough" and it breaks my heart.
oy 4/6
4th column I need help with e's please?
hi luv
hi MLF
top E...et6/21
ey 4/6
thanks phae
ey5/14
yw
phae clue please?
and thanks again phae
it's a chemical
it must be very difficult for him. After the lithotripsy the stent will stay in for another week to help protect the ureter while all of the gravel passes. Before they take out the stent they will order a plain film of his abdomen to make sure none of the stone is left in kidney. If there is still anything left, they will usually re-blast. They remove the stent after the kidney is clear of stones.
thanks phae and google
morning all!
also OUCH
both et6/21's are similar...just a diff vowel in the middle
Hi Dan.
and...they come from different E's
hi Dan
lideola, Thank you for taking the time to tell me this. I was told he might have to have lithotripsy twice. When all the gravel is out, the stent is then removed. I will hope for the best. Thanks again and may you NEVER have a kidney stone atttack.
hi scrab hi dan
nbt and nbs
mlf...can I have a clue for a 7?
the 7i have is the re6/7 combo
If they can blast my 2 cm x 2 cm staghorn stone in one go, I have confidence they will be able to do his 8 mm in one treatment.

Drink LOTS of water and do not drink carbonated beverages.
yw
Scrabbs, No soda at all and
not that anyone asked but my icon pic came from google today:)
Bobby drinks about 8 glasses a day
Annie, hugs to you and Bobby. So sorry he has to suffer.
annie 8 glasses of soda a day??
and there is medication that can help ease the bladder spasms. If he is on other medications it might be contraindicated.
thanks, hego.
:)
is ca7 a pl?
lideola, I think the spasms abated. He says the stent rubs against his ureter when he urinates. Not all the time though. He has been a trooper. I can't wait till this is over.
Some people metabolically are at risk to produce stones.
ca7 is a Latin plural
fan, 8 glasses of water
annie oh good water:)
Buon giorno, Hego. Did you ever read the book "Elizabeth Street?" I just started it.
scrabbs, His father suffered from kidney stones.
i read that scrab . thought it ws good
Scrabs, no. I haven't.

Welki! Hi.
hego, have you read gregory in chronological order?
Hi Fan
Welki, I just saw the photo of the bobcat.
un amd 2 vowels
i'm reading the new john irving
Thanks!
No, Welki. I've been all over the place with them.
Do you like it? Welki
I read the Irving.
we have so much beautiful wildlife here - unfortunately, development is driving it into the inner city limits
annie, it's not my favorite, and i've read all of his novels - wait for it at the library
hego, did you like the Irving book?
the only Gregory books I have read are a few of Gregor Maguire's
Annie, I didn't like the Irving as much as some of his other books. But it was good.
good morning!
morning india
Welki, I have to say I'm getting really sick of old Henry.
I started the John Irving book and couldn't get into it so I returned it. I loved all his other books. My favoriteis Yhe Cider House Rules. Great book.
Hi India
i was thinking of starting reading gregory, but would begin at the beginning - in the 1400s, i think
Annie, that is my very favorite also.
and hotel new hampshire - sorrow floats
Yes the first are the Woodville books.
annie I loved the movie but never read the book
ah yes, Hotel New Hampshire
fan, read the book too
i've become 'addicted' to john irving's work - and i loved james michener's novels, too
annie are they similar?
good addiction
I've read most of Michener. A long time ago.
fan, yes, the movie stays close to the book
... and jeffrey archer :)
that's good I always say I am goingot read the book after I see the movie but never doo
do
dorens turned me on to richard russo's books - might want to look him up, too
Historical fiction is my favorite.
Mine too.

i remember gobbling up the john jakes' series years ago - got me hooked
Bernard Cornwell is great
hello...
Hi penquis

Anyone read Lindsay Faye's books on the formation of the NYPD in the 1840's? I love those.
hi pen
welki I saw the movie for a Prayer for Owen Meanie and loved it did you read that and see the movie?
hi pen
read the book, didn't see the movie, fan
I have about 10 books in my Kindle that I haven't read yet. sigh...
didn't even know there was a movie
have you read C.J. Sansom?....mysteries in the time of Henry VIII....
I am just the opposite welki but I have the book
Welki, me neither
The Owen Meany movie deviates from the original story a good bit.
Happy Sunday everyone.. have been taking notes - Babble and Books, def. not enough time for other stuff.. (-:
No more Henry......
common ground, hego - and a stack of books and new yorker magazines (i finally cancelled the subscription - love it, but don't have the time for it)
welki its a great film in itself if I didn't know it was based on a book
Isn't it Saturday?
Matthew Pearl, Diane Satterfield, Carlos Zafon Ruiz...
ooo...love CZR....
quirky...
Aloy, it's Saurday :)
molly, so they left out a lot of the plot?
Yes, penquis!
The movie is called Simon Birch. The only reason I watched it is because Oliver Platt is in it. It is very loosely based on Irving's story.
yes I love the movie as a movie since I have not read the book
ty hego.. happy Saturday!
Oliver is in Chicago Med now.
just looked up ruiz - books look great, thanks for the tip!
Don't do that. I'm easily confused.
Yes, I need to catch up on Chicago Med. I like Oliver Platt's character in that.
hego I am always confused
molly if I read the book would I be disappointed?
just put his first two in my 'shopping cart'
The book is very good. Just a different story than the movie.
I must look up Carlos Jafon Ruiz later.
i wonder why they did that?
he looks like great cold, winter day reading, annie
welki, sounds good to me. Winter is almost upon us so I am ready.
if you like Ruiz, you might also like Arturo Perez=Reverte....also quirky....
penquis, Just added APR to my list
pen, you're going to cost me some $$$
hah!...i do the library most of the time...
yeah, i could borrow them, maybe i will
Make it stop!!
does anyone know an author by the name of jane goldman? I am not familiar?
not me...
lol If you have a Kindle, you can get samples free. If you don't like, you don't buy.
pen - which apr to start with please
I am in the library at least once a week. I still love walking into a library.
Soodle told me about it. It's saved me a lot.
I also have read Perez-Reverte's books. Are we related, penquis?
does not matter, welki....they are not related....
hego I didn't know you could do that ?
okay, thanks - i'll start at the beginning then - or find one on the cheap for starts
It's great.
hah, scrabs.....
i see there's a 'captain alatriste' series of 5 novels
It's nice to feel a bond with people, penquis.
Can anyone clue the th7 please?
ah...i have not read those, welki....
:oD....
Hego and I speak Italian with each other and we met in October!
I'm going to stop writing stuff down right now.
That was great Scrabs.

i hear you, hego - we get a little obsessed when we get recommendations of new authors, we want it all, and we want it NOW
I will return to your ar 4 again. I loved it up there.
It sure was, Hego. I miss you.
Yes, we do, welki!
Afternoon all!

origami great icon
TY MLF
ca 6/21 following the printer's mark, please?
yw origami
cyber printer's mark?
dance awhile back ma + ca 6/21
Los del Rio
ty byz
byz that doesn't work but I have the ca6/21/7 combo
it does work
and its spelled differently its more like a girls name? are we talking about the ca 6/7?
ignore my clues
You have to change a vowel in the dance
worked for me byz -- but then I don't know how to spell the dance, so I guess I used a homonym
The clue was fine, I understood it.
The only reason I know how to spell that horrible dance is because I did some work for a DJ back in the day. For some godforsaken reason, people requested that song at weddings ALL THE TIME. And The Chicken Dance, and Achy, Breaky Heart. Blech.
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help
bye everyone - hagd
I don't understand how to connect the ma to the ca, help, pls
You don't connect them. The clue was using the ma to define the ca6
If you read back over the chat, the clue was requested for ca6, not ma8
ty Molly
Mahler is in the grid! One of my favorites.. hi all, back to find some more
Mahler was too horny for me
hi ru! I refuse to groan for that one.
Mahler is too depressing for me
well... aloy... can't blame me for trying
lol.. hey, did you start a new count for the New Year?
yep.. I'm still at zero
most people ignore me now :D
h'mm, you won't be for long
truly, I enjoy your indominable wit
well.. that makes me feel a little better :D
I'm missing 19 words and half of them are fours.. unbelievable I'm the king of fours
this laptop is weird.. have no idea why the whole screen will disappear without provocation - had to reboot Babble - just like Crossy's "poink".. it goes away in a blip at times, ugh
21 left here, 8 of them are 4's
ha, one of them was from heaven (ma4)
aloy...mine was doing that...turned out to be the motherboard going bad
my motherboard when bad 60 years ago
ouch.. ty for the info phaeton. This is hubby's old laptop, since I fried my good one, sob
how did you fry it?
spilled coffee on it
with a little olive oil
lol phaeton!
Oh my, you have a very infected laptop if it is doing that.
more good news.. hi Molly
bichon I was confused too I think its the ca 6/7 that the dance was referring to?
think I'll go put some Mahler on, LOL
It helps if you read along with how the chat goes. The clue requested was ca6/21. The clue given was ma + ca6/21. It had nothing to do with an ma8 because there is no ma8 9in the grid.

I don't blame you Ru. It's kind of like being a comic at an open mike where no one is getting it.

I do have a lot of jokes that fall flat on their face though
Or not admitting to getting it.
True Ru.
I think one needs to be more warped like me to find things weirdly funny
...yes, we do, ruru.
Hiya Mimi

It might just be me.. but LL CoolJ seems like a doofus to me
Molly just meant that youu're cool.

Hi there.
hi everyone
Hi welki.
ru, thank you so much for the contact information, will speak with peter on monday
you're welcome really
I feel for you and Baxter going through what we're going through
My vet is more than able to help make it happen. She's been really on top of all this
so far so good with the anallergenic food (and antibiotics and vanectyl ....)
oh good for you.. Dylan threw up that food and I almost threw up with him it smells so awful
someone recommended a raw (llama) diet - ugh.
yeah, it's gross
I wonder how they alpaca the llama food :D
chalk up a 2016 groan
two in one day... I'm on a roll :D
you are going to think this is a miracle when he gets the shot
i'm not against a raw diet - but like i explained to diane (the babbler whose son lives near me and feeds his sensitive pup llama), we've had some pretty nasty results from raw diet - explosions, if you will.
not holding much hope for it coming across the border, ru - but would be great if it did
I am against the raw diet.. mostly because of ecoli
they are not adverse to opening a couple locations in Canada according to my Vet
good point
or salmonella
once they have salmonella it is for life
or mustang sally
a life time of misery
*pictures Salmon Ella belting out scat containing e. coli*
A very very smart vet I know always recommended against a raw diet for those reasons
Groan back
I'm in pain with these puns :)
thanks - i can always use a good groan

your approach is very healthy. Good luck
I was too crazed before, so i quit altogether for a while, and now just try to enjoy
I always have to use MoreWords for the last few. I am still crazed I guess
I used morewords for my final ones as well. Now i check the recent chat. I clue if no one else is around to help
Ricke
Thunder. Which is weird, as the wind is from the NE.
We are supposed to get heavy rain overnight no snow, no thunder just rain
we're to get rain and thunderstorms overnight.
i've heard some thunder off to the N.
How warm is it there to produce thunder?
hm. let me check...
currently 48F, but we get thundersnow here too.
oh, cool! The temp goes up overnight!
we're at the low for the night.
Just finished in the ni4/9 of time ..
