fw and off to bed (with a nasty headache) goodnight all
Good morning all.
morning, sukee
Hi Annie.
good morning Sukee and Annie
Hi Ruby.
((ruby)) how are you?
I'm waiting for my "Easter" lunch to be delivered
Great, can't wait to find out what it is :)
No lunch from them tomorrow or Monday, but the local Sicilian called me to invite me to his resto for his Easter goat!
Very nice.
How nice.
Probably lamb and flageolets and a fancy desert, but I necver really know
Fridays are always fish, sometimes wonderful, others inedible. Yesterday it was cod, Rufie's favorite, so I had to share!
How is Rufie"s paw?
Bobby should have an envelope from me by Friday although I sent a letter to my sister in NY which took 3 weeks.
Both dogs are limping (2 gimps and a crip -- moi), but they're managine, as am I!
The V word is a new one to me
The postal service in NY is very fickle. Bobby has all the envelopes you sent him. The Stamps.
This one has clippings for both of you
I looked vr4 up. No definition.
I think vr is like meow or woof
Okay. Looking forward to the envelope. :)
Yet, when I search on the Scrabble page it said it is useable but they had no definition either :)
It seems it usually has a u in it.
Bobby will be happy, I hope. It's like having a granchild in NY
I experimented with leaving my bedroom door open last night. Sadly I did not sleep well :) The cats wanted to play.
(since I have no grandkids of my own :(
Do the cats get in the bed?
LOL Bobby is a little too old to be your grandchild.
I feel old enough LOL and look like I'm 100 yrs old
Tried to attack my feet, one kept trying to get into the closet and rattling the door
going to the kitchen to start the coffeemaker.
I think a good nap is in the cards today.
That sounds so cute, Sukee!
So cute, unless you are trying to sleep :)
Fortunately, these dogs don't get on the furniture or bed, not that I'd mind, but they're very big and not as clean as cats
But Rufie is on guard all night, doesn't budge from upstairs
I don't stay mad at them long though. But, I did throw a pillow at the closet at one time :)
haha
Years ago, I had a large cat (14 lbs!) who slept on my chest
I loved it, but ultimately became allergic
I was spoiled with my last cat, he lay beside me and slept. But, he was a few years older.
If one of these dogs slept on me, I'd be crushed and smothered
I'm hoping they will eventually ca 4/6 down
According to Merriam-Webster, vr4 is Dutch for Mrs.
I bet.
how old are they?
Just over a year old.
like frau
And since we are all fluent in Dutch, that should have been a no-brainer. : D
And one words I was sure should be there isn't. Scur.

Can I have help (stats, to start ) with hte bottom I and the N, please (and good morning all!)
Sorry, I don't have either yet.
Hi matty.

Thanks for the NE4 :)
ah, got one, ty zoo
Good morning Matty and zzoozz
I don't have either yet -- looking
We got Matty's sunshine today, but it's still freezing at night, too early to plant my annual "cheats" in the borders
It's cloudy here today! We're up Newark (England) way visiting with Jeff's folks
Bottom I is two ir6
We had sun yesterday. The trees are all still covered in ice so it looked beautiful. Should all be gone by the afternoon.
<-- didn't know there was a Newark, England
There is! It's in Nottinghamshire
Midlands ish. Near Lincoln
Ruby is a Jersey girl. Most of the town's in New England are named after (wait for it) England.
Flat country
I find a lot of US/Canadian cities are named after places in England :)
I'll bet it's prettier than the one in New Jersey!
duh, I never even thought about New Jersey!
Yeah - though Lincoln is much nicer than Newark. Newark is a market town and has seen much better days
There's a Boston in Lincolnshire
And we have some wonderful place names and interesting pronunciations. I'm quite fond of Penistone in Yorkshire
I'm in a beautifully situated but drab village. The "downtown" i nothing special, but the road where I am is gorgeous
lol matty.
and the view!!! superlatives are inadequate
For Ru...Some guy must have really gotten his rocks off naming it Penistone.
groan.
*Puts the groan in Ru's pile*
or they were hungover when they named it (sorry)
After Ford came out with The Probe, I said to a friend "why don't they just name a car Big Dick and get it over with"
ahh, I think I hear lunch arriving on little bunny feet....
Eggs for lunch
When I saw Penistone I thought 'B flat'...

Is the ne7 a 'real' word?
Looks like it lol
i think she means, is it normal, or weird
Yep, that's what I meant :)
both of which is subjective
It ends in facial spasms if that helps.
Let us just say not used in day to day conversation Matty. Not even yours. : D
You know me too well, Molly :)
That NE is my last word....

hello, sukee.. must be fun looking at a cute bunny face in the morning
Yes, we kissed.
lol. I let my cats sleep in the bedroom last night. No one slept :)
Why not, sukee?
sukee we always let our cat sleep with us hubby didn't get much sleep last night
Because they wanted to play and attack my feet and try and get into the closet.
our cat tries to get hubby's feet too
nocturnal cats = zzz interrupted
I thought it would solve them scratching at my door early in the morning.

Well, thanks! I come on and do just the short grids and don't chat much any more.
How are you?
Aw, well join in once in a while. I lurk too often. Depends who is in the chat.
got the 10!!!
Babble saved my sanity (such as it is) when i was stuck at home with two babies and felt cut off from all other human interaction. I could have the chat running in the background all day, pop in and out...
Now those babies are 13 and I can't take the time for long chatting any more!
But it's nice to see some of the old regulars still here! =)
Congrats, MLF.
Clue, MLFAN?

afternoon all! can someone clue the ending for the ac8?
being very sharp and clear dan
ends with multiple towns
So nice to see clues without ***'s
Hi Babblers
I only resort to ** clues when there isn't any other way
hi christa
I can't make that work. I may need a dumber clue, I'm ok with ***
think visual sharpnesses :D
I keep trying things that are ac7 or ac9
got it! tx. Was missing the vowel combo
ends with multiple big towns like San Francisco
<---second cup of coffee isn't helping
firewords! TX ruru and lickety and all cluers
wtg dan
I'm so lost. Doesn't cities end like multiple towns?
it was tripping me up too. The trick is to start with sharp angle and end that way. The "connector" is an odd vowel combo
that way = large towns
it takes a village sometimes :D)
I wasn't tripped up. Cities and ac7 end the same way.
ne7, please?
Sounds like a person who believes in religion contrary to those of the community. Ends in facial twitch.

oh!
good tip
what do the numbers mean? number of letters?
like ac5,14 must be a 5-letter word starting with ac?
but not sure what the 14 is?
is it one letter word + four letter word? because in that case I think I got it :)
It's face value of tiles, x1 for 4 letter word, x2 for 5 and so on

nbt
wtg, Gwen! Just started right now & this grid looks nasty so far.
i have 56 to go and getting stuck, even with list open
Wow; so it doesn't sound like it's going to be a fun grid. :-(
howdy
the first part is always fun 8 - ) hi jes
hi jes. How are you doing (I never see you here at this time of day!)
Hello, Jesdraggon :-)
I actually got out of work at a reasonable time today!
finding lots of small but weird words -- not so weird after you've been here a while
NICE! :-)
did have the fun of a woman calling last night after hours, freaking out when she heard the after hours fee, wanted me to tell her how to fix her dog without a doctor (she was not happy with my answer of I will not give medical advice without examining and confirming the type of injury - she swore the dog dislocated his hip jumping off the porch, which seems frankly unlikely). She hung up on me when I told her the only thing I could recommend was aspirin.
(waits for Gwen to find the TZ6 and the vr3) .. yup.. just normal words
got the v one, hunting for the t one
got the t one, thanks 8 - )
then she called back, and said she had lost service - but she'd also said she was sitting in the parking lot of the clinic, and the service there is FINE, and it took over 10 minutes to call back. anyway, this time she wanted to know how much it would cost to come in during business hours, and then asked if I started treatment did that mean I had to keep treating until the dog was all better.
Thanks, Doren!
sounds like a complicated matter! jes
Wow, jes! She sounded nuts!
wow, monkekied both those first time! Hello evryone!
I explained that we will do only the treatments she authorized and paid for, and would stop treatment at any time the owner stopped paying. She got disgruntled again, and I told her again that she could come in during business hours and it would be less expensive. Told her the business hours twice.
hi saani (& also DOrens and zoom!)
with that spelling just shown, I can tell it may be difficult to finish..
today, she showed up 10 minutes AFTER closing, and said she had the money for the business hours exam. Told her that's great, but it's not business hours anymore, and we're right back to the same afterhours costs we discussed last night. She refused and left.
So, jes, was she there when you opened up this AM? (Or was she one of the folks who wakes a vet in the middle of the night & never shows up the next day?)
LOL!
you are getting lots of karma from this, jes
never called during business hours. came in after we closed... like the answer is going to be different the next day??
Hello, Nef :-)
Hello all. I saw a clue earlier for the to 8/45. The clue was 'think waterboarding' (compliments of The Byz, I believe). In my innocence I was thinking along the lines of water-skiing & was totally baffled. I googled waterboarding..... I feel like a dumb cluck!
i have had some crazy customers but I just sell used books. this lady beats 'em all.
thanks, soodle :)
Hello, Soodle :-)
yeah, my sister was getting those kinds of calls too. Her husband (also a vet) would fall for those calls all of the time; but my sister got hard-nosed with people like that and said that she would charge them if they kept calling after hours instead of during hours.
ty, soodle, got it
Hi Soodle!
I don't usually charge people just for calling, but I have billed people for standing me up when they call after hours
Hey Zooz, Jes, Nef, Gwen et al :-)
My sister said if they had a "good reason" for not calling during business hours & leave a voicemail explaining that (i.e.: someone who works nights & sleeps days or something); then she'd charge them.
when i was growing up, our home phone was the same at the vet, except for the last number. we got vet calls way too often. worse, the vet was Dr. Allen, and my brother was Alan, so once I got a call saying "Is this Alan's?" and I had to go get Alan to come to the phone. He was not amused.
Sounds like she doesn't routinely do after-hours/emergency? We actually rotate on-call and will take emergencies, but charge extra compared to business hours.
hello everyone
howdee to
My sister & her hubby are the only 2 vets in the area. They did do after hour visits & emergencies; but she wouldn't let people abuse them (because, like I said her hubby would go out at all hours for anyone & my sister refused to let that happen often.l
Jes, my bro-in-law is also a vet. His partner is fond of a whiskey or two (or 20). Walking home from the pub one night he came across a police random road-check. He laughed at the policemen & 'said Ha ha! Ye won't catch me'. An hour later he got a call to say a horse was in trouble birthing a foal. Of course, he hopped into his car to go & assist & was promptly done for drunk driving. There was no horse in difficulties - it was the policeman he had mocked earlier who had made the call. 😞
Yeah, there's very few people I've told that I wouldn't come in; generally if they think it's an emergency and are willing to pay for it, I'll come in.
hah. well, he was kind of asking for it, soodle! (and I don't drink when I'm oncall...)
For sure!! But this was 20 years ago in rural Ireland. 'On-call hadn't been invented then!!
There are just some people who will abuse anyone who's nice to them; & my sister was burnt many times by that type of person. She got Brucellosis from a cow before she got married & some people were very rude & even nasty to her because she was too sick to work for Them!
Oh, my Soodle! Wouldn't that be considered "entrapment?"
I would have stalled if I were that vet :D
Oh Nef. Your poor sister. Brucellosis is a horrible condition. And No. He was drunk, fair & square behind the wheel of a car.
You should have heard some of the tantrums we got when the old boss retired. Had one woman who was PISSED that we hadn't personally notified her by phone, and never mind that we'd posted it in all the local papers. She doesn't read the local paper, only the WSJ and WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED! She was just going to have to go somewhere else now. I didn't bother to point out that doc wouldn't be there either.
Lol, Jes. That sounds like something out of a James Herriot novel!
SOmetimes people can be so weird! That story kind of "takes the cake" in my book, jes!
tricky-woo has gone flop-bot!!
Precisely, Gwen!!! I love those books!
ha-ha Gwen!!!!!
tricky-woo?
tricky woo sounds nasty
James Heriot books
tricky-woo, ugly little lap dog owned by silly old rich lady
I never appreciated how difficult a vet's job is till the day I had to get my old rothweiller King put down. The vet had to do a horrible job, then deal with a hysterical mess (me).
but the rich lady gives the vet all sorts of presents just for being nice
the entrapment is, that vet would never have gone out if he hadn't had the fake call about the horse.
the rich lady feeds her lapdog nothing but sweets, and when the lapdog is too ill to even move, she says, "oh, dear, tricky-woo has gone flop-bot again"
Jes - if you are a reader, I can highly recommend the James Herriot books. Absolutely wonderful!
that's not the worst soodle... after the euth and calming the wrecked owner, then you have to go into the next room and be cheerful and friendly to the next client
My sister was getting calls from people who lived down here in the Twin Cities but had grown up there. They would call and ask if she'd spay or neuter their pets because "they'd be home visiting their parents over the weekend" & this would be "so helpful" to them if she could do it then. after the first 1-2 years of having to spay & neuter pets for those "clients" for dirt cheap; I told her what WE paid down here for the same services and she was shocked!.She did raise her prices and that type of call became a rarity. (she was charging less than half the price they had to pay down here).
I read a couple of them, a couple of decades ago... not much time for reading anymore.
9 to go, gonna be back later, bye for now
bye, gwen :)
Bye Gwen
have fun!
bye Gwen.
ne, I never got back to you with more comments bcz I had a heart attack--I'm fine now but off salt and fat, see my o poem this week in Ill Times--I thanked all the drs, but it's a funny poem--wouldn't have been if I hadn't made it.
Oh, No RoundBarn! I'm sorry to hear that!
(((RoundBarn)))
(I'll look for it in a bit,
Very sorry to hear that RoundBarn, but very glad you are well enough to Babble again.
I'll try to email you the poem. Not really a poem, but it's fun. I'm doing fine but staying close to home for a while going to pt.
I qwatch you guys all the time, but usually lurk, quit at half way except those humongous grids lately--too much time to do.
cu
Sorry puppy walking on keyboar
RB, I do plan to read it, just not this minute because you're here chatting with everyone &I don't want to miss a nice chat session. :-)
keyboard lol
Hi everybody.
neat picture, gramma :)
today our little reading group met, we talked about Goudge's Little White Horse. And ate. Next month is Rumer Godden's An Episode of Sparrows. I need to order the Hack Tales--wonder if Dr Gwen has that book--it's folklore. My own last volume is inching along.
nice entry, Norma! :-D We were talking about animals just a few minutes ago! (actually Veterinarian stories).
Hi gramma
Thanks. I've used it for quite awhile. Throw back to the 60's.
Are you getting close to the end of this volume RB?
Thanks Nef
Clue please for the tz?
It keeps receding like in Tennyson's Ulysses. I meant the Jack Tales. I need to order, none of my kids will even loan theirs.
Oh, My! It must be a good book if they won't loan theirs out!
There's a TZ??? Crikey! I thought I had nailed this grid when I found the VR...
Nef, two of the hardest chapters are agot Jerry's father--you met Jerry and Debby. He's read and given me material for one, I haven't shown him the other!
The tz word is tz + author famous for his book Exodus
... tz ... and author Leon ...
It's a tz6. I tried to make up the gyro sauce. But I can't spell.
I can imagine that would be hard to write, RB.
thanks for the tz :)
ty
What Jes said....
And it would be difficult to write for someone who has a different view of the topic than what yours was.....
Moses wrote Exodus. (smile)
8)
I meant the novel Exodus
Yes, that has been the problem--I've had to soften and interpret to make everybody happy.
Molly, didn't you see my smile?
And Joyce wrote Ulysses. (Smile)....
acuities
Tennyson's is sj horter. "I am a part of all that I have met--"
sorry
or yw.
thanks gramma. that was a very understandable clue :)
They gyro sauce is why I don't eat Greek food. The combination of cucumber and yogurt makes me queasy.
Bishop Spong is talking here next month. Half his mail is hate mail from clergy. I will be in the front row.
I love it; just don't know how to spell it. I guess it didn't matter because that wasn't the word.
I have Ulysses (by Joyce) in my bookcase. I have tried to read it many times. Many times I have failed.
Soofdle, I audited it with our best professor (I'm an English prof.) First time I read and understood it.
I hear Great Courses has good lectures and guides you through, Never tried Finnigans Wake.
Oh wow, RB. If I had a hat on right now, I''d take it off to you! I hope to read & understand it before I die.
LOL, Soodle. I did read it once; but it took a long time to do so. It's one book that I actually ran out of the times I could renew the book reservation.
Nef, Soodle, friends, I am signing off--I'm over half way and have to do some of my own work. We are at the captioning pix stage.
Last word. NE7, pleae?
Cheerio, RB. Good health to you.
Take care, RB. I'll email you later today after I read your poem
gramma, rhymes with heretic.
TY TY TY!
I read Finnegans Wake; but was more enchanted by the rhythms & sounds of the words in my head than what the story was.
not spelled quite the same. Close enough.
Nef... How are the grandsons?
thanks for ne :)
Okay, good bye.
RoundBarn, you could post it in your profile. Then we could all enjoy it.
Clues anybody?
Great idea, Gramma. Please do, Roundbarn

It's only the one grandson, Soodle; & he's doing fine. I was trying to paint our guest bedroom the last 2 days & he was "helping" me. Word to the wise: if you have a 6 year old "helping" paint a room; be sure to order extra paint and have a TON of patience! (It was fun, but I ran out of paint & spent nearly as much time getting paint OFF the floor & woodwork as I did putting paint on the walls!)
Rhymes with heretic is a great clue. That is the whole word, less the N
I love letting them help as best they can with whatever I'm doing.
YAY, gramma! WTG!!!
Oh bless, Nef! You just can't beat the enthusiasm of a 6 yr old.
I do too; I did the same thing when my kids were little; but I do think my nerves were a bit frayed this morning....
Well, I'm off. Have a great Easter for those that celebrate.
Letting kids help is a great thing. I'm not so sure letting them help paint a room is a great thing though.
Bye gramma & happy Easter to you too
Lol!! I hear you!! Bye Gramma. Happy Easter.
have a great weekend, gramma
ty See you all later.
al6/21 please?
Molly, my mistake was not covering enough of the room with more tarps. I did get most of the paint up; but I'm also going to have my floors refinished and wisely thought I should do this painting BEFORE the floors get done.
I don't have it jes but am looking now.
lol. I can visualise Grandma Nef profusely thanking the 6 yr old for all his help, all the while windering how she would clean up this mess. Lol
He quit several times; but then would come back & "help" some more. He was pretty upset when he walked in some paint & made a HUGE mess & I asked him to help me clean it up
oh wow!!!! That's six year old boys for you!!
al6...first part of begger word + first part of geek word, as in revenge of the
(he had new shoes on & now the sole of one is a soft pretty blue color but the other one is still black)
Good clue, Molly. I couldn't think of how to clue it without using part of the word.
thanks, molly

of course they do. thanks
si5/12?
Newborns terrify me. It's when kids get to the interactive stage that I start relaxing around them. I know your painting assistant was less than helpful today, Nef, but it was quality time with him, which is worth diamonds!
Hello again
((Soodle))!!!!!
(((((Car))))
Lovely to see you, my friend. How are you?
Great! You?
phantom: mercurial
It was indeed quality time, Soodle. THere are no kids around where they live, and some kid or kids at school had given him a hard time this week about something & he was so negative! My son had been up to his eyeballs engulfed in work; so my grandson was both negative & lonely & couldn't talk about it until bedtime.
Hi car.ee
All good here! The troops are all home for the Easter holidays. When all my chicks are under the one roof I am happy!
awwwww
Nef, My heart is aching for your grandson
Good to hear , Soodle
firewords
Congrats jesdraggon!!!!
Oh Nef.... That is heart-wrenching....
YAY, jes!!! WTG!!!
Whoo Jess!!!
Nef .... He is a lucky little boy that he can speak to you (albeit whilst painting where he shouldn't).
New Babble spring/summer cocktail recipe: Watermelon vodka with Minute Maid fruit juice and plain soda water :) Enjoy!
Soodle, he's pretty fond of me and I told him last night (& later emailed my son) about the importance of hugs & that you need 12 good hugs a day to feel good & that all's right in the world. So he collected 8 hugs right off the bat & then gave me some back! It's amazing how his mood shifted after that.!
awww...perfect!
Hugs are so important and easy to give that we forget how much they mean to others (& ourselves).
Oooooh Car.... About a hundred years ago, when I was young.... In Greece, Summer 1985ishwe used to buy a watermelon, bore holes in it with teaspoons, pour a whole bottle of vodka down the holes, refridgerate overnight, then take the watermelon to the beach the next day, & get sozzled eating fruit!! Good times!
LOL...we still do that!
hello....
Hello Pen
hi pen
Well Nef ... The next time you are hugging your grandson, will you give him an extra hug from me. Please.
Hey Pen
Me too!
Seriously Car?? Okay. You. Me. Trif. We GOTTA meet up. Seriously!
Not every weekend, but on festive occasions I have been know to carve a watermelon with some marinated melon balls!
*known
I will hug him for you Soodle!
Thank you Nef!!!!
We would carve out a design on a watermelon & fill it with various fruit and then add kirsh or vodka as part of the juices. We did a whale for a family reunion once ( the name was Whalen), a goose or duck for a lake party, a "pricess head for a young girl's birthday (no alcohol in *that* one!), & I don't remember what else we did. It was fun, but we stopped adding booze when there were kids involved.
Car - Daughter of Soodle is going to the US for the Summer. She will be based in New Hampshire, then travelling around for 4 weeks. I'm saving up to join her ..... Somewhere.... Wouldn't it be nice to meet up?
And Nef & her extraordinary watermelon skills would be a crucial part of any meet up!
LOL, Soodle. The US is pretty big! :-) New Hampshire is over 1200 miles away.
I've chickened out on recent possible Stateside trips. I really hope to make it this Summer.
(But it would be fun to meet up with some Babblers!.)
I met with Riverdance a couple of years ago & we had a great night!
Yesterday the guy who mixed up my paint at the hardware store told me about Ireland & how accomodating it is for the handicapped to visit. (My hubby has MS). It's possible that someday we might make it there!
soodle...Daughter of Soodle...meet up!!!!!! Love it!
well, my Dad is in a wheelchair, & in fairness, we haven't encountered any accessibility problems.
I've met uusue when she was travelling after her retirement; & I've tried to meet up with lbd & harpjane in Montana, but DH got sick. :-(
I'm prepping food for tomorrow while Babbling, so if I take a minute or 20 to respond please be patient!
<---- calling airfield to fuel up Babble Air Jet I
<--------- wishes she was as organised as Car... Prepping tomorrows food.
i am done...
woo hoo pen
LOL! We just remembered to take the precooked and sliced ham out of the freezer for Easter Dinner at 2 PM today! I HOPE IT WILL BE DEFROSTED AND WARM FOR 1 PM DINNER!
Lucky you, Nef. Uusue seems to be one of the nicest Babblers around. She
YAY, PENQUIS!!! WTG!!!
Soodle, she is the nicest & sweetest person! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with her!
Well done, Penquis
ty....
BRB, phone call.
i am heading out....goodnight all....
So... With all the Soodle offspring home, the fatted calf's days are numbered. Thanks all for the chat. Heading for bed now. To those who celebrate it - happy Easter.
Happy Easter to all....bye!
Bye pen!
And Happy Easter to Soodle & pen & everyone. I need to sign off for a while; will be back later if I'm lucky.
hi all back to find my last 32 words
Back to find some more words.
hey bunny-person -- loved the pics of the great-neph with his basket... looks like he had a fine time!
Aw, he is so damn adorable and had such fun. After he found all of the eggs he wanted to start all over but it was snowing lightly and very cold so we went inside.
has anyone here ever baked any paula deen dessert recipes?
Not I.
i hear her cobbler recipe is very good and easy. but i hesitate to make something new to take to dinner.
i am lazy to bake but have nothing to do but read. baking occupies my body as well as mind, which i need now.
I think a cobbler is hard to mess up, TO -- perhaps worth a try!
the Paula Dean cobblers are easy to over cook and they turn out a little blackened :D
sounds like too much sugar to me, ruru ((hugs)) guess what, ruru?
what?
you know Grant turned 21 last month.... and he has discovered the wine aisle in the supermarket. LOL
how bout that :D
that's good. I would rather see young kids enjoy wine with a meal rather than cocktails and excessive partying
he has so far found a lovely cabernet sauvignon (first one I have actually liked) -- and he also brought home a Moone Tsai Chardonnay.
geez, don't i feel old now
oh.. Moone Tsai is really good
I am glad he is experimenting, but had to warn him that he should be saving his money, not buying expensive wines! LOL
Yes, we enjoyed it a lot. It was an anniversary gift from him. Apparently he went to the wine person and asked what sort of wine he should get us. Told the man he knew we liked white wine.
there's lots of wine to enjoy that doesn't cost a fortune
Thereupon his education began, when he learned there is more than one kind...
ah..
hello hurshy! Not as old as we feel, I suspect... *hiding gray hairs behind youthful expression*
I like to hear that.. nice
I need to go move more stuff from my old house.
He has an excellent "nose" and is very discerning with foods.
Did you get a new house ruru? I am SO out of touch with everyone here!
so you have made the cobbler? sounds like a timing or an oven temperature issue.
hola! how can there possible be a V in this grid??
it's a dutch word for Mrs, harryhood ;-)
vr4/11
dutch variant of german wife
LOL hey dan
Hi Dan
:-D Grant is home from his day at work... I should think about supper. Or rather, I should prod Tom to think about supper.
ok...I'm not pleased with that word.
Good idea, Stid.
There is a tz6.
:-D how much is that tz 6 worth scrabs?
I got the ten... but still looking for several tiles and an 8. Then I can list. LOL
tz6/36--I don't have it. I figured if Harry didn't like vr4/11 he won't like tz6 either.
*thinking*
tz + Exodus and Trinity author Leon
Happy Easter to all who celebrate
thanks dan -- coulda sworn I tried that! LOL
TY, Dan.
well, not making progress here. Better go help Tom in the kitchen. Back later maybe. nice to see you all! *poof*
Bye Stid
tz is a yiddish word. i hate it when they use non english words but they do. sorry. it means troubles in yiddish. tz is a common letter is hebrew and yiddish. it sounds like the ts in the word "datsen" which was a car from japan.
TY, mkg

hi mkg, no clues for the 8s, I am getting started
ac8/50
how do you decipher that code? I get ac8 but not 50?
it has been a while since I played babble. What is the link to find words you are looking for? I don't mean lickety.
lickety is that link, there is no other
no, on this one, you type the word to see if it is legit and the definition
no idea, jen
maybe one of the links under the grid?
no, I don't see it, for example, you can type in the first two letters and then it will give you all the words that start with those first two letters
I have never heard of that
there is more words that people use - it gives words by # of letters
that's it! more words
thanks!

hello!
yw, harry, where are you from mo pie?
oh wow, I still have 107 left
Northern California
I see
you?
Missouri, of course!
should have guessed! :)
that is why I thought you might be from MO
I was in KC MO once looking for charlie parker's grave, and they sent me back to KC KS, where I found it.
cool harry
53 to go - I'm listing.
I am watching the Kansas basketball game
listing?
see this link at the bottom for lickety - that opens a list of word clues
that means he is going to r46.me to find hints for words
oh yes I'm looking at those
I'm still at 107. so.... not helping as much as it's helping Harry!
I am at 120!
3 left!
go harry!
done! needed the chog for the last 3.
yeah, harry!
need clues? o/w I'm gonna go eat :)
yes because I'm still at 107... lol
this BB game is a heart pounder!
I am down to 109
mo pie, do you use more words?
no
not sure what that is
www.morewords.com provides you with words that you can use to find words by putting in letters and spaces
oh! helpful
good night!
Hiya folks.
for instance to fine a 4 letter word that starts with mo, you type mo-- and it will provide you with 4 letter words that start with mo!
Are you new here mo pie? Welcome!
night, harry!
hi origami
Hey jen
I am, origami! thanks!
jen, this is helping!
great! you should see my screen! I have all 3 screens up!
98 left. progress!
wtg mo pie.
you are doing better than me, I am down to 100!
mo pie, are you still here?
yes!
down to 82 now
I am down to 72
there are a lot of words I didn't know were words, it turns out.
nice!!
happens all of the time!
mo pie, before each word that you enter into the word list, there is a little box with a question mark in it. If you click on the mark and new window will come up with a definition of the word. I use it to increase my vocabulary and the help remember odd words.
great tip, thank you Bugsaw!
hi Bugsaw!
sometimes it isn't a word tho and I get bugged by that
His Jen
Hi, I mean
Hi bugs
yeah I am noticing some that are dubious
hi origami. How are things going for you?
*waiting for mo cake to arrive*
I am having an adventure in my bathroom. Rotten things abound. Other than that OK. How about you?
and mo puddin'
mo cake is clearly inferior :)
did someone leave your cake out in the rain, ruru?
mo puddin is pretty awesome, not gonna lie
or is it your birthday and know one knows?
yes bugs.. and that frostings me
... gtoan...
groan, I mean. oh nuts
hi ruru!
hi jenm
how is the move in going ru?
you gateau check your spelling bugs :D
maybe three more loads ori.. ugh. I'm almost done
I am imagining terrible vermin and crawling critters all over origami's bathroom and even the thought of it is creeping me out
vermin?
woo hoo ru!
I know.. now starts the throwing away crap ..
I do love my new house though I must say
bugs... i have a problem with your profile
It was almost that bad bugs. It all started with the toilet leaking, leading to ripping out the floor and the old vanity, leading to finding rotten sheetrock and boards. Geesh. It was all very disgusting.
you are supposed to throw things out before taking them to the new place. It saves a lot of packing.
ok ruru, what it the problem?
yuch ori
you are very far from a crone
if you are a crone..then I'm a geezer
Indeed ru. I am humbled by the atrocity that was living in my walls.
OMG major stuff going on origami. I hope you have a second bathroom to use while the repairs are being done.
dry rot?
I had a little here we had to fix before i moved in
Face it ruru, you are a geezer. As of last month I am an old age pensioner!
ohhhhh.. i don't think of myself as a geezer yet
There was some of that. We had to rip out 3 feet of sheetrock. Remove the horizontal board holding up the verticals. I probably don't have the lingo right. But it was a nightmare.
I can't wait until I am a geezer/crone. I am soooo close.
I'm sorry ori. I hate stuff like that
I'm in a quandary however
Well, in truth I don
Now there is just spackling, taping, etc. and then can get on with the painting, installing the new vanity, etc. the icky stuff is done.
<---there's going to be three bathrooms at this house
currently just two
I don't think of you anywhere close to being a geezer ruru, but you said you were one if I were a crone and I am not backing down on that one. A crone is past childbearing and known more for her experience than her usefullness. I like being a crone. People like grandmothers and adopt me into their families quite often now.
what is your quandry?
I got the 10
YAY Jen! long words are harder for me
I have only the one bathroom, so this has been challenging :D
oh. wow ori
yes, we only have one and when I remodeled it there was a lot of confusion and trips to the coffee shop
I'm turning one bedroom into a guest bathroom
well, I am stopping at 55, have a good night!
Yes, confusion. I have made 7 trips to the Home Depot in the last 2 days.
Wow Ru! I want to visit your bedroom turned guest bath :D
I wanted to turn one bedroom into a second bathroom and a walking closet but the idea was vetoed. I am now going for a kitchen remodel instead.
kitchen remodel is more important bugs
night jenm
I'm going to be coming up soon bugs.. it's almost already here jeez
I am having drawers put in the lower part so I can make better use of the cupboards. I don'
don't know when it will be done. I am getting quotes now.
my kitchen is already done.. i just need to convert some other stuff
I have forgotten when ruru. Email me with the dates again. I am looking forward to a visit.
end of May
I think the 28-31st
thanks . I remembered correctly then.
I will line up the whale watching day soon
Saanich is excited
I haven
I haven
she likes the hotel
I have not spoken with her in too long. I should phone her tonight
It is a good hotel. Right on the water
Hey ru, can you send me your email address? Mine is in my profile and I have a book I would like to send you..
is your favorite chef still at that restaurant?
That is why I needed to know for sure when you arrived so I can check. This winter is passing quite quickly this year
I have the wines picked out to bring..
I wish i could bring more than they allow
I just emailed you ori
Yes, he is at Locals Restaurant in Comox. You can find it online to see the menu etc
i already saw it.. you'll have to let him know we're coming and make rezzies on a night mr bugs can come
unless he's stuck on his boat
Yeah, we can forget Mr Bugs for most of it but he will always come for good food!
ha.. that's what I figured
we'll be fine on our own.. we have lots to talk about
our boat trip is at least 3 - 4 hours
and he is deaf and doesn't play Babble so it is all good
he is much happier working on his projects. He just brought home yet another derelict boat yesterday. . . sigh
he was just fine at the hotel.. he's just a little shy
kind of like me :D
very shy but nice
he is a nice man
very soft and easy going (by appearances)
I like to stir the pot a bit
yes, easy going until I want to do something he does not agree with. He won't say No but he can sure plant his feet and refuse to move
Yes, but I kind of like sh** disturbers too
yes.. stubborn i can see that too
shit disturbers are more fun:D
just not to live with ;D
ha
got that right
please help and clue the ac 8 for me. I didn
I did not understand the big town thing that Molly tried to use
ac 8 is visual sharpness or mental sharpness
THANK YOU I am now done.
sharpnesses in fact
congrats
that was my last word too
does anyone need a bad clue before I go on a food hunt?
maybe you need mo pie bugs :D
I made a nice dinner tonight
I love mo pies' name
me too..it's cute
Mr Bugs bought a utility grade turkey for us. Not my favourite kind but I will gnaw on some
I am plumb tuckered and heading to the couch. Happy dreams all.
night ori.. have a great weekend
bye mo pie and origami and ruru. thanks for the chat.
I saw a recipe for turkey./lettuce wraps that looked great
night bugs.. have a great weekend too
