Please, please take 6000 IU/day of vitamin D to help his brain. Read vitamindcouncil.org. There is strong evidence that vitamin D deficiency during pregnancy is one of the causes of autism.
im taking my prenatals -- should i be taking extra D on top of that?
And after he is born give him 1000 IU/day of vitamin D.

i leave for work at 6:30 in the morning, not to arrive back home til about 6 in the evening, most nights. after that, it's making dinner, doing shores, running errands. not much time for sunshine! luckily, the days are longer and the weather is getting warmer (though this week doesnt seem like it!) all the more reason to get the pup (and myself!) some exercise. a quick walk oughtta do the trick!

Eva, I learned over 20 years ago that I could not work a doc's full-time schedule, so I work a 5/9 schedule, with fulltime being 9 sessions weekly.
ive definitely been thinking more + more lately that i need to find a job closer to home. my commute each way is 1-1.5 hours. so thats 2-3 hours a day sitting in a car that could be spent on SO MANY better things!
But then we have one oncall weekly, and on on call weekend (63 hour marathon) every 5 weeks, and I spend 2 hrs on charting 4 days weekly. So it all adds up even working "part-time."

Yes, we have a laptop but there is no time to finish notes after each patient so I finish charts every evening for 2 hours.

luckily, hubby + i each get some telework in our week (im at home today!) and im hoping the grandmas can help out as well. its true -- i wont want to leave him with ANYONE, but at least i will feel safe and happy leaving him in the hands of folks who already love him so very much!

the pa does vitals and charts them then the dr appears to do the whole note thing during the visit

Owl, I am very OC with my notes--detailed. So I take my time without time-constraints during lunch hour or at home. I would rather do that and not have patients wait for me to finish notes.
