n eons
hi all!! just got back from a gruelling day at the hosp with hubby.....need down time for meee.
Halfway through, only two sevens, no eights or nines :(
Good morning all.
Only just morning here :)
*Makes coffee and tea as the morning regulars shuffle in
I love my cats, but 4:30 AM is too early to start scratching at the bedroom door...
Dogs have owners. Cats have slaves.
I did manage to hold them off until 6 but not with a lot of aggravation :)
without that is
I know a few dogs who have slaves.
At least I don't have to walk the cats in case the pee on the floor :)
My cat (RIP, a few years ago), in her later years used to miss the litter box. I came in one night about midnight to discover I had to urgently mop the kitchen floor. I was not best pleased
True, they can do that in older years.
Ugh, urgent mopping at midnight
And the smell was delightful :(
There is nothing like the smell of cat pee...
Not nice. I think by then we'd taken the back door welcome mat up permanently as it spent more time being washed than not. Poor thing.
My problem with my aging cat was him throwing up everywhere.
Oh, Sunny did that too.
And, sometimes, poop
*Puts breakfast away for later
Awww. Sorry!
: D
nbt
Ditto - but still no 8s or 9s :(
no, only 4s, 5s and 6s here
Three 7s - all pt is what I have
If it makes you feel any better, the 9 is "one of those words"
As in the strange and not often heard included in the odd Enable word list
Oh, peachy :) I believe (looking through the chog) it's ke, is that right?
Yep
May I please have a wee clue?
Gambling game + Disney movie about robots, plural
Oops, it's not a Disney movie
Hmm...Bicentennial Man doesn't fit ;) (Still looking)
Oh wait, yes it is, sorry. It's more of a science fiction though.
Thanks Molly!
Ends like Mr. Howard, aka Opie Taylor.
Having dismissed Robots (for the obvious reason), Bicentennial Man, I Robot and increasingly more unlikely candidates, I found the right one :)
Got it. Think movie from the 80s or 90s that was also an arcade game.
Ty Molly
An abbreviated definition: a high-vacuum diode used as a rectifier in appliances - I am confident I cannot work that word into conversation
1982 :)
There was a sequel more recently
And a decent video game back in the day
Now I just want to get halfway so I can have breakfast :)
I am confident that if I could remember all the odd words like that which present themselves in Babble grids, I could hold my own at a geek-scientific type cocktail party. : D
And halfway, bee back soon.
Me too Molly, me too :)
Does anyone have the el6/7 combo?
need that too . . .
el - sometime vowel - *** la la
tx lady!
yw
matty, it's not a combo:-)
7: same first 4 letters + first name of Mr. Reagan
That is funny. Une goes Reagan, I went Opie. : D
just watched the CNN documentary re 1980s and Reagan last nite -- fresh on my mind LOL
MUCH fonder of Opie!!
I'm sure I thought of Opie because I recently watched a movie directed by Mr. Howard. He makes good movies.
he does indeed -- plus he's just such a great guy!
155 and taking a break -- BBL :-)
good morning all. help with the O in the 3rd column pls

One minute dry-by

Good morning...perfect sized grid for a Sunday :)
Hi Car. How are you today?
Great! You?
On call and I slept well last night.
Good to hear.
good morning.
Hi serenity.
I was thinking of you the other day...lifting you up for your calling as a pediatrician. I was doing a funeral bulletin for a 4-month old and my heart was aching for the family. How you do it, I will never know.
Hello Serenity
Oh, no. How terribly sad! It is so awful when parents join the club of bereaved parents. What happened to the baby?
not sure
What I do is cry with the parents and support them forever, always talking about their child, calling them on the anniversary of the death and on their child's birthday. One child, a 4 yr old died on 1/7/91, and I call the parents yearly. They so appreciate it.
Wow. Again, you are an amazing pediatrician and person.
I acknowledge the unending deep pain of their loss.
I think a lot of people go the other way and don't acknowledge the passing as they don't want to "upset" the parents. You are brave to do so.
Bless you, Scrabbs, for your compassion. I cannot imagine the pain and grief of losing a child...
Parents wants to talk about their lost child, to remember their child, to keep the memories alive. The boy that died 1/7/91 died in front of me and his parents in the ER so we share the trauma.
bojazz, it often leads to divorce, sadly, because the grief cannot be shared by the parents. It is so deep, so difficult to speak about.
I do not want to share sad events, let us be grateful for healthy children. Hug your children today.
It takes a very tight bond and faith, I'm sure, for a couple to survive the trauma of losing a child
Yes, and I do see it happen, and I see couples brave enough to have more children after a loss. That takes true courage.
I didn't mean to bring sadness to a Sunday morning, but, Scrabs, I wanted you to know that I was thinking of you and seeing you in a different light this week.
hello all
I think about my lost kids every day. I have a list in my head, from 1983 when I did my first pediatrics rotation as a med student. Every pediatrician does. My partners and I talk about our lists.
Hi MLFAN!
hi scrab
We have a big grid, MLFAN, so get to work.
I am working on as we speak scrab lol
i was awake last night near flip time and was tempted to check the size of the grid. i was watching NASCAR

The on call weekend lasts 63 hours. And yes, I count down. No crises and I slept without interruptions the last 2 nights.
phew.. so far, so good
Is your FB back in English?
howdy hego!
Hiya!
Most calls are nonurgent and just worried mommas. But we are on call for the hospital too so must remain within 15 minute drive of the hospital. That is the stressful part of being on call.
Hahahaha, Hego, that was hilarious!
You got lots of help, though.
I tagged Une as I knew she was the one that could help and she did!
yes, she knew exactly what to do.
But I was truly at a loss.
You need to know the word for English in every language now.
I recognized Anglais.
So you're back in business.
Very funny. I will laugh about that forever.
It was.
I need to get something to eat. I'll be back in a few minutes.
Back.

Yogurt. I could eat it all day.

i have yogurt for lunch.
Greek!
Me too
I buy plain Greek yogurt then add what I want to it--nuts, fruit, etc.
It is cheaper too as I buy 32 oz containers.

It is difficult to choose a doctor at our clinic. They are so busy and one left recently under a cloud and they haven't replaced her.

Of course the 2006 would be a big clue.
