good morning all
just logged back in ... and look who's here. {{hugs}} and good morning darling sprite.
*hugs rose* Good evening dear friend. How did your day go?
waahhhh. my TENS died last night. we didn't get out to pick up my new one until this afternoon. gosh, was that nerve burning and stinging.
and don has ordered a second unit so that we will always have a back up
oh! :( How nasty. Well, at least you have confirmation of how well it works for you.
absolutely, honey. now i am considering seriously, of having the neurostimulators implanted.
how was your yesterday and night?
am glad you will have a backup from now on. And yeah, something to really give some thought.
they were ok. Am tired, no surprise there. Taking it as slow as I can, one step at a time.
good for you sweetie. tomorrow is 'june' day. out for lunch then charity shopping. what does today hold for you?
groceries, cooking, administration, kitchen.
whoa... that looks busy.
yeah. Well, one step at a time... and again early to bed, methinks
Hi and hugs, friends
{{hugs}} and hi lizgirl
*hugs Liz* Good evening to you :) How are you today?
did you both get the last email from puglet? she sounds so happy.
Fine here - yes it was a lovely email. I wrote back yesterday.
she sounds so good :) Makes me happy to see it.
Hope her sisters are OK.
from your mouth, errr fingertips, to God's ears/eyes, Liz
I'm finding this grid pretty challenging!
same here
you're not on your own liz. it was beastly for me.
there are quite a few belief words.
I thought it might be me - lack of sleep!
I've only got 2 of them
so far I have 2 combos and one single of them
there is one more sprite
one combo or one single?
that is one more combo.
3 if I count the base belief word.
oh, thanks Liz, lol.
there are three combo's and one single
Only have 1 combo
hmz
do you count se5/12?
I did!
me too :D
oh no, i didn't that's 4 combos
so that is two singles then, and three combos
duh!!! what sprite said
Is one single the base word?
yes liz
yes it is
OK so missing 2 combos - sigh
one combo missing then, for me. Want to swap first letters, Liz?
I have on 7
ok, drop the O for another. Those are mine too, alas.
want a hint yet?
Thanks.
Always - but if Sprite doesn't, I'll hang on.
rose, I'd really like the first letter of the other combo, please :)
c
awesome. And girls, I don't mind clues or hints! I only mind the endless lists in chat.
I'd quite like a bit more than c!
i do understand honey. i was just checking before i opened my big mouth.... so to speak
ah found the combo! Thanks again, rose. Liz, CL7/8 combo
aaarrrggghhh. don is complaining about his pain. asked him if he had taken his pain relief. have a flying stan at his answer.
*stab*
for crying out loud, lol, rose. Men!!!!!!!!!!
Duh - silly Don!
ROFLOLOL
i could strangle him, except i would miss him so much.
Thanks for the cl 7/8.
tell him to take his meds, lie down for a bit and quit complaining. Either take care of himself or lose the right to nag!
yvw :D
Fair poi The!
Point
lol, liz. spell check strikes again
Careless fingers, I think.
*giggles*
Spell check too
2 more O words and then I will have killed all vowels.
3 x os
ah, another fat word
ah, thanks rose, got them now
yay you.
I always seem to miss the easy ones. There is a lessin in there somewhere, isn't there? ;)
lesson*
hmmmm, ties fingers together
lol
<------ likes breathing too much.
hahaha... I like you too much to ever make you stop!
Happy you like breathing - me too :)
bit of a habit. i'm used to doing it.
Sprite - mixed feelings about Terry Goodkind
did i ever tell you about an anaesthetist who, having brought a patient into recovery started to walk away?
not me. I use a head set. Breathe in.... breathe out... breathe in.... breathe out....
oh, please tell, Liz!
doesn't ring a bell, rose, do tell
i noticed the patient wasn't breathing. she said, breathing is over-rated.
lolol. sprite, you're not blonde
roflolllllll cutie!
nah I am too dumb to be blonde
i told her it was a recovery room requisite.
I hope she rectified the situation anyway
a bit of jaw support from me, and heaps of oxygen, she started to breath on her own
thank God. Not a good thing from the lady doc
Liked most books. Less keen on soul of the fire and pillars of creation, which I'm reading now. Feel he's got a bit diverted.
it's just as well that it was my habit to visually check my patients while the doctor is handing over.
Good habit for a nurse
Liz, I am right there with you. Same two books. They feel like he had to deliver them for his publisher, but wasn't much into the story. Keep going, though. The other books are again great.
not the first time a nurse saves a doctor, nor the last
Good. I'll certainly continue.
gosh i miss my job so much.
I guess there were hints about the other illegitimate kids and he felt he had to follow through.
You'll get over that Rose! I loved teaching but don't miss it.
I hear ya, hun. Hard to step back and not utilise your talents there anymore. But your health is worth the sacrifice
thanx dear friends.
yeah, I think so too, Liz. Well, the Naked Empire is ok. And Chainfire and Phantom are amazing.
*hugs rose*
I'll let you know :)
cool :D
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!!
Congrats, Sprite
tough little grid, for sure. Anything I can help with before I go?
thanks my friends :)
No thanks - I'll list later tonight.
ok :) *hugs* to you both then, and sleep well tonight.
Hugs to you too. Have a lovely day
{{hugs}} sweetheart. hope your day is kind to you.

Hello, Sukee :-)
Hi zoo
Good morning. I had a dream last night that the grid would be 344 words...guess I was off by 200 :(
... could be that the grid is off by 200
Hello, Car :-) would of been nice if it was 344.
Hi kids.
hello
Hello, Scrabs :-)
Are you back to work today?
Anos
Yes, I go to work at 1. I have the morning off because I work Friday afternoon and the entire weekend.
ugh. But it was worth it, it se5!
My sister departed 20 minutes ago and she works tonight. She works in a hospital pharmacy, 8:30pm-7:30am for 7 nights in a row, then has 7 days off.
Oh I would hate that schedule
We all take our turns with the weekends being on call.
It works for her because she requires just 5 hrs of sleep each night and can nap easily during the day. I could not do it because my brain needs a routine and needs 8-9 hrs of sleep every night.
I am not enjoying the right side of the grid. Just sayin'
Join the club.
Yeah..I'm in the club!
what zooz said
:-)
Is the C the problem?
Hi - back to TRY to find a few more words. Not liking this grid.

And there are 2 sets of ch6 and 7 words? And a cl7 and 8. I have those.
That sounds right.
My last one is the PL 6/21?
Correct, Scrabs.
Sorry Zooz - don't have it yet.
We could ook together then :-)
Look*
pl 6 - rhymes with the limb of a tree
Just found it.
No - that's pl 6/27
Got that one..lol I found that one looking for the PL 6/21 from earlier. :-)
That's how i just found it.
Phantom : Please.
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ F.I.R.E.W.O.R.K.S ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
pl 6/21 - rhymes with your phantom!
I found this grid to be hard tofay.
You got it first! Congrats. 22 left here!
Would you like me to try and help, Liz?
Very hard. Rose and Sprite also thought it hard earlier on.
Thanks for the offer. Feeling a bit brain dead. Will probably leave the rest until tomorrow and have an early night (it's 10pm now).
Yay Zooz!
Well if they found it hard then It must be a hard grid. they are the queens of babble along with Volly and a few others.
They certainly are.
Oh yes of course I keep forgetting the time difference. Hope you have a wondeful eveing, Liz!
It always amazes me how quickly some of those experts finish.
Sorry for the typos!
Thanks, Zooz. You enjoy your day :)
I know, Liz! I knnow a babbler called Gremlin can finish a grid in minutes!
Awesome!
Well I don't know the person personally but from on here lol
Okay I think I am babbling on a bit too much here lol. Happy babbling everyone!
LOL! I knew that! And the way that group compile lists, when Lickety's not there. So very grateful to them all and to those who post lists.
Bye Zooz - catch you again.
((Liz))
Bye Scrabbs - if you're still there.
I am here.
((Scrabs))
*poof*
I am having a hot flash and contributing to global warming.

and ty bich :-)
I already have that one, Bichon.
hey Scrabs, I'm going to be up in your neck of the woods in June. Will be staying in Hammondsport, NY at a B&B.
That is about 2 hrs away, at the southern tip of Keuka Lake. I have kayaked on that lake. Hammondsport is nice little village. We shopped there and had lunch at a little place. I was the driver while driving friends around to wineries one day. I do not drink.
The Finger Lakes region is beautiful!
I've been in the area before, Watkins Glen, and several other gorges to see the waterfalls but always in the Fall. I'm looking forward to seeing Watkins Glen in the Summer.
Thought about bringing our kayaks but not sure if we'll have much time to use them since it's just going to be a 4 day weekend trip. Is Keuka Lake nice to kayak on?
We had planned to stay there last weekend for 2 days of hiking but the rain ruined our plans and we cancelled.
Oh, yes, it is very nice for kayaking. We stayed at a cottage across from Keuka College, so we paddled across and then walked around the campus, which is quite small.
oh, that' s disappointing. Hope the weather starts improving; I've only been kayaking once so far this year but hope to go Friday
sounds like a nice trip. Maybe we can rent kayaks if we find time and the lake really tempts me.
I prefer remote lakes with no homes around the shore--like in the Adirondacks.
fifth lake!
(if I remember correctly)
13th Lake! How I love that lake. So peaceful and beautiful.
So do I Scrabs. My first preference is to kayak on remote rivers though
Paddling on rivers is complicated as it involves 2 cars and shuttling the kayaks.
One of my favorite books is set on the Allagash River. It's called Eternal on the Water by Joseph Monninger
True Scrabs but the current on some of the rivers in my area is calm enough we can paddle both ways so we don't have to do that
im not a strong kayaker, but ive been rafting a few times + it can be exhilarating!
Or if we can't we contact a Livery and have them transport us using our own kayaks
I'm not brave enough to white water raft Eva but it does look exhilarating
Paddling in both directions makes it so much easier!
Ok, yes, 13th lake~ It was really beautiful
We have done white water rafting on the Sacandaga River in the Adirondack Mtns and it is fun. Not dangerous--helmets are not required like on the Hudson River Gorge.
Doren, we are renting a cabin there in July. 13th Lake is my happy place. When I am stressed I close my eyes and go there.
someone died on a whitewater rafting trip here in Maine this week....quite sad...a dad chaperoning a boy scout trip....
Oh, no, Penquis! That is so tragic!
yes....it's rare, but I guess it happens...
That is sad pen. There's a dam on the local river that has taken many lives because people don't obey the signs that tell them to stay away from it. I warn anyone I see on the river about it.
this one occurred on a trip with a reputable company....
Probably a head injury when getting tossed out, then drowning. I found an article, Penquis.
the very first time i ever went rafting was with a friend who is an AVID outdoorsman. we went on the Upper Gaulley River in WVa on class 5 rapids! (helmets were definitely required!)
Scary.
i fell out twice. once did freak me out, but otherwise, it was really fun! we were the "pickup raft" on one of our runs -- we had to collect an older gent who had fallen out of his raft...he was pale as a sheet!
We wen white water kayaking in Alaska. Never again
What the water freezing, bichon?
hello friends. count for the o in the fourth column please?
on 7/32 and 8/45
on7,32 & on8,45
oh my! thank you
Hi Trif and Glantarell
Hi Scrab
iodism
chnage the 3rd letter for an n and you may get somewhere grant :-0
oops
TY, Glantarell
hi grant and scrabbler
Hi Trif
hi glantarell
hi Trif
scrabbler, my assignment for grad school this week was to find and read an article WAY over my level of understanding. So, I grabbed my mum's copy of the NEJM....man oh man! What a struggle! It was an EXCELLENT assignment, in terms of helping us relate to what it is like to struggle to read....I could decode every word. But comprehension? Nope.
Great assignment. My lawyer sister and I discuss the same thing. I cannot understand her lingo and work. She cannot understand mine.
whoo! nbt
But my hospital pharmacist sister and I can understand each other.
it was a great assignment. I can confidently say I know nothing about Polyhydramnios, Transient antenatal barter's syndrome, and MAGED2 Mutations.
And it happens when we bring our car to the auto shop and get a diagnosis.
it was so interesting - I misread it as PolyhydroAMINOS and thought it was something to do with too many watery proteins. And even that is telling - lots of struggling readers would make a similar mistake, apply prior knowledge, and get the wrong picture of what they were reading, EXACTLY I as I did.
Aha.
Hello Ladies
Hi Hego
Hiya Glant!!
How are you?
Hi Hego
I am well thanks. Fireworks
Yippee!
Congrats Glant!

woooo
SNAP!!
a man spilling his seed on the ground rather than using it for reproductive purposes
named after a character in the Bible who did this very thing
Got ya Hurshy, very biblical.
great...now I have to go hunt down my bible
He got in big trouble if I remember.
that's different from all the "seed" money the televangelists ask for isn't it
yes. the world was less populated then.
And the Catholic church banned birth control. Oh Boy.
hello all
stats for the corner L?
but most everyday catholics don't care and use it anyway
Yes, Ru, big difference.
4/6
Hi Fan
you're saying the church can't condom banned birth control
hi hego
2nd column I?
something like that. :)
ty hurshy
is4/5
I have tried the biblical on(name) and the grid won't take it????
I never understood why the Catholic Church banned birth control. I can only surmise it was to have more Catholics in the world
it's not JUST the name, it's the name + ending, for 7 and 8
ty phae
No the reason is what we just said. based on that biblical passage.
what biblical word are we talking about I have not listed?
oh thanks hurshy
<---never read the bible to be honest
4th column a?
ai4/4
There are parts I have read, but not Numbers or Deuteronomy
hi scrab
ty
It's great reading Ru.
Better than Game of Thrones.
not for an atheist though
For anyone, you don't have to be religious.
which o for the 7/8?
Our whole society is based on that book whether we like it or not.
I am an atheist, but I am still Jewish and the OT is part of my heritage
OT?
googled what hurshy said at 8:42 and the story is from Genesis
old testament.. oh
It is your heritage basically
Old Testament.
hi wv
good morning all
from genesis.. so we have the bible to blame for Phil Collins?
4th column o?
<--loves history
:D
I love history too hego.. just not fake history
I might not believe the Bible stories, but they always give me pleasure. I have a bible comic book. Had it as a child
Ru, you get a groan for that.
what about the stories in the bible that are proven by history?
my husband did a thesis on the Bible
thank you .. I'm way behind last year
All history is just somebody's version.
hi gram
4th column o and j?
ja4 - criminals end up there
ty eva
We adopted a baby girl from Catholic Charities and we had to get a letter from a minister. That was tough. We had a Unitarian minister.
Yes, there is archeological evidence for many of the Bible stories.
ON7-8 combo.
Hi Eva
has anyone found Adam's other rib hego?
There may be archaeological evidence, but it doesn't prove to my satisfaction that miracles, etc. were true
hi hego! im in + out today. :)
lol Not yet.
no idea on on 7/8?
MLF -- new words for me... apparently they mean coitus interruptus. ;)
on + two letter indefinite article + rac*** )or sex***)
Hi Matty
*adjusts censor rating of the chat*
Did you read the bible about Onan. He spilled his seed and that is called on 7/8
don't those words end in t matty?
blame it on Onan.
no fan
I though Onan was when Cyber missed a shot on the golf course :D
the concept, not the person, MLF.
'Nother groan
that joke wasn't up to parr
used morewords and ty got them
nbs and nbt will be back
Over my head like a birdie.
what are you driving at hego?
Like an eagle soaring overhead
lol Scrabs
golf jokes can be funny depending on where you putt the punch line
But watch out for the bogey man
Love it!
i putter not get involved with this one -- i dont have the fore-sight to keep up!
Go Eva!
EVa, you don't even need a caddy to help you.
everyone is allowed eva..it's the only fairway to do this
it would suit you to a tee Eva
i dont want to drive this one home. it'll have me feeling rather green...
Yay! Kalia!
No one should feel trapped.
it's getting rough around here now
its just a hazard of participating in the chog! but i'll chip away at it!
Eva is amazing with her double puns!
We are such wordsmiths.
i try not to take such chip shots as Ruru -- hes the Masters!
Not with this grid
I love it when everyone puns.. I never try to put a wedge in between us :D
all in the clubtogether, eh?
We could iron out our differences.
agreed - no need to slice things up. we're all aces here! everyone is up to par + we all help out with each other's handicaps!
and pb for Scrabs
ok I give up, brilliant shot Eva
*sprinting to the PB*
Was waiting for that one.
How do you pun Mulligan? Hmmm....
kallia is green with envy
yep, you got a hole in one Ru
it's all in the approach kallia :D
youd better bunker down -- when ruru really gets on a roll he just doglegs it + you never know what youll get!
my swing isn't that good...
We are getting a lot of yardage from this topic.
I used to work for a golf club manufacturer
ah.. an unfair advantage kallia :D
i think im all puttered out of golf terms now...
this is Kalia's national game. she has home court advantage.
LOL, not at all.
it was great for her to divot her sources though
Nearest I got to playing was in 1996. when we had a golf day for the English Football team, and Beckham was just a young boy, and so beautiful and a nice kid
Lucky you
god what a long time ago that was!
for the record, he's still quite beautiful. ;)
yes he is Eva :)
still got 55 left, think I'll leave it at that. Thanks for the fun guys.
I noticed
bbl
Anyone here have a Fitbit or other fitness monitor?
I've shot a 62 so far, but I'm not finished.
I have a fitbit
im just starting the back 9 -- 71 left to go for me...
I still have 105 left
I am considering buying a Fitbit Charge HR but am so hesitant about spending $130.
I wanted it to check how much my hubby sleeps, but have to hit I am going to sleep now, and I am awake. Not helpful. I now use it to count steps when I play tennis.
i think it's time for the 19th hole...
I have the clip on they, I've washed and dried it and it still works.
cheers, TO
I have a Fitbit--the cheapest one--and I LOVE it. Battery operated, no charging.
I would want the one with HR monitoring and sleep monitoring, if I buy one.
perhaps some refreshment will help with the last 19. cheers.
56 left and it is hard to see any more.
sleep monitoring is a crock.
I do wonder how a Fitbit can monitor sleep. Polysomnography is quite sophisticated.
The one I have only collects when you start to go to sleep (manually push the button) and when you wake up (push the button again). Put a clock near the bed is just as effective.
And there is a big difference between duration of sleep and quality of sleep.
yup. There are sleep monitors you can put a strap on the bed, and it's supposed to collect more info. Looked at it, but didn't buy one.
Good morning, all!
Hi Judi
have the obvious J (detention center) - stats or help with any of the other Js
just got the JA 5/22
j5/20 = j + last 4 letters of fruit with yellow peel. Then pluralize.
Clue for ja5 please?
NM, monkey found it.
thnx scrb
of course. you mentioned the magic monkey motivator.
Yep!
BTW, Dr. Scrabs -- did i tell you im finally starting to feel my little man's movements?! :D
48 left and I have had enough. I must get ready to work the afternoon shift.
How exciting, Eva! He is doing somersaults and flips in your uterus!
20 weeks now?
he definitely was for the sonographer last week! he kept trying to get away from her. ;)
i knew it would take a little longer with me being a first time mom, butas it turns out, i also have an anterior placenta, so that made it take longer moreso! (21 weeks, 2 days today)
i cant wait until his little kicks are stronger so hubby can feel them!
Cool, Eva. What exactly is an anterior placenta? (I missed that day in Biology).
Wait until you see and feel body parts! Enjoy the wonder of growing a baby inside of you!
I must get going now.
judi -- it just means that the placenta is in front of the baby, rather than behind. it provides an extra layer of cushioning, which is unfortunately when youre waiting to feel movement!
sa 6/21, pls
Isn't it fun to chart the progress of your baby Have you ever watched the TV from Britain "Call the Midwife?"
i havent heard of that one. but yes! its so amazing to see them grow!
It's on Public TV
Have you had a 3-d one?
I watch that show bichon and really enjoy it
SA 6/21 - male offspring but switch the vowel + short sleep (and switch the vowel)
ty teach
i havent, but id love one. no idea how much they cost, though -- im assuming insurance doesnt cover that...
The last one I watched was really terrific
have you watched from the start. I really enjoyed the character Chummy but she's not on there anymore and I miss her.
Same with me. What a wonderful character. I am really sorry for nurse Mount and her lover
I saw the actress that plays Chummy in the Melissa McCarthy movie "Spy" last summer. She did a good job in that movie too
The last episode I watched one nun packed herself off to a cloistered abbey.
help with the an7 pls
