i ran out of things to do today so i cut don's hair...lol
wow, brave woman
that's how good i feel after having my last infusion. i can now stand for short periods.
*giggle* he's to penny-pinching to go to a barber/hair dresser
*forehead/keyboard* that should be... too ...
fantastic, rose! ha ha... my hubby would let his hair grow down his back, before letting me cut it
lol, dee
Hi all and hugs
hi (((liz)))
{{hugs}} lizgirl. you home tonight?
No - going out at about 6
Crazy week
*pouty face*
Aw! Sorry!
what about tomorrow night?
Should be OK
Think it's our only quiet day this week.
any particular time?
Brain not functioning - name a time!
hmmm, we are in the same time zone now arn't we?
Yup
okay. say about 7:30?
Huh! Just seen I should be in the PB for my greeting
8.00 would be better - probably eating at 7.30
Or before 7.00
okay. 8pm it is. xoxox
OK - looking forward to it.
sorry everyone. i didn't mean to hog chat.
no problem; brb getting some water
lolol. don home from shopping. and it took him a while to find out which way to turn the key to unlock our new front door.
Does the new door look good?
it looks wonderful, unstained, unpainted. the leadlight is gorgeous.
That's brilliant. Are you leaving it unstained?
we are taking progressive pics. tomorrow don is going to stain it.
And there's my answer. I'd love to see the pics.
we are staining it merbau/jarrah
That's a warmish reddish colour isn't it?
reddish brown that is
and the architrave will be the same grey as the window frames, down-pipes and roof
Sounds very smart.
yes, it looks stunning up against the cream weatherboards.
That sounds a lovely combination
don has started replacing the barge boards around the bottom of the house.
I'm not finding this grid easy :(
with merbau, and spark-proof mesh behind them.
He must be feeling better if he's up to all this work. That's good.
Spark proof mesh???
he is better. i have been rubbing in voltarin gel x3/day
Bet he enjoys that!!!!!!!
yes, to stop hot cinders from a bush-fire getting underneath the house
Oh right. Bush fires - hadn't thought about that. Are you in a particularly prone area?
yes. there are enough lunatics around here who think it's great fun to start a fire in summer.
we have lots of natural forest around us.
Lunatics indeed.
Beautiful! We've also got forest around here but i think that the fire ri4 is much lower here - not to say that we never get fires.
ikr... but i think it is generally the blue mountains which cop it the most.
That's Sydney isn't it?
yup. but they are a part of the great dividing range which winds it's way just about all the way up north.
OK - didn't know that. I guess my Aussie geography isn't that good yet.
Not half way yet - but my time is up for now. Hugs (yeah! I know - PB) to you and Sprite (and Dee if you're there).

Hi all
hey medusa
hows you rose?
doing well thanx. how's you?
good thanks. Puppies are getting big now. They are on solids too the last 3 days.
wonderful news, honey. how many do you have? i have been a bit (?????) remiss over lately.
I know that feeling! She had 7 and they are 4 weeks old tomorrow.
I have decided to keep 1 too. lol
oh wow!! is she a good mum?
oh, yes. i do remember now... you have a soft spot for one of them. boy or girl?
Been great. Done everything she should. She is now starting to tell them off when they go to her to feed most of the time. She has certain times now when she will feed them.
Boy.
i didn't know that doggie mums do that. how interesting.
what have you decided to call him?
After so long they do stop them feeding from them. I been reading up. This is the first litter I have had. Had lots of kittens but not puppies.
Am calling him Buster
so a new learning curve, medusa
love it!!
It has been and I have loved every minute. They have got to a point now where they wiggle their little bums and give kisses when I pick them up. :)
i remember my third dog was a foundling at 4 weeks old, in a gutter beside the road.
awww too cute
Poor thing. Thank God for people like you. xx
i was up every 2-3 hours 24/7 for quite some weeks.
They are so adorable. Gonna be hard to let them go but can't afford to keep them all.
I bet.
she was so clever. she left me with my mouth op4 so many times.
Bless
ow medusa, they cut the umbilical at birth... let go
did not have that one. ;)
*now* lolll
It is just proof that monsters are real. :(
sort of more no responsibility of owner. he allowed his bitch, in heat, to raom the streets. when she whelped he ke4 forgetting to feed her. she roamed the streets looking for food, litter of pups trailing behind her.
OMG! Poor thing. Some people should not have pets. Makes me so angry. I have gone without food for my babies!
i haven't never had to go as far as that, medusa. but i was very incensed by his attitude. if i had reported him, the poor bitch would have been put down.
That is so sad. How come?
that was a mixture of ... have never...and haven 't ever...
medusa, we have strict animal laws here. the mum was of an age where she wouldn't have been adopted. it was so sad.
i figured he life she had was at least that... a life.
True. I would have been so tempted to take her and all the pups.
*rolls eyes* i hear you. but i was a single mum with three young boys to provide for.
I understand. It is hard to know what to do for the best.
at least i rescued Julia..the pup's name courtesy of my youngest.. loll....and she was such a bonus in our home.
I bet. And it is one little puppy that got a loving home. xx
and reporting the irresponsible owner wouldn't have helped the poor mum.
Makes you wonder why some of the rule exist.
medusa... she was amazing. as i said.. soooo clever... and loving
she filled my life with such joy
may Buster fill your life the same way.
Don't they all. Problem is the become outr children as well as our natural ones.
Aw thanks.
He is a very laid back boy.
lovely... xoxox Buste
*buster*
he is so laid back that when the others wake up they climb all over him and he stays asleep! lol
roflolol.. we are watching the antiques roadshow. DH has just said... he wished the peeps carrying the couch with the lady on it ....would drop it...don doesn't like her smug look.

*fingers crossed* Sending peace to her AND you.

Then you did not receive my text yesterday...NO radioactive iodine for me!!!!!
(at this time anyway)
Wow.
I did not, but Babs told me - wonderful news!!!!
For some reason, which I have to look up because I forgot the big words, I do have a slightly higher chance of recurrence down the road, but it is still only 7-8%
I will take those odds! what an answer to prayer
Hi car and everyone I missed.
You will be followed and monitored, Car, so rest easy.
By for now, maybe my chat will be working later on.
I think I will take advantage of the morning and sleep another hour. bye all
Hi sukee!
Good morning, everybody. :)
Hi Crossy
Scrabby!! :)
I found 85 but slowed way down. Enjoy the day, friends.
Hi Crossy!
Howdy, car! :)
Did I read right and see that you have been undergoing some oncology treatments, Car?
Turns out I had thyroid cancer. I had it removed and it looks like they got it all!
I hope that all is well
Yaaa!
Kicks cancers ass!
boo yah!
So, it was caught nice and early?
Yes, an incidental finding on my yearly physical
But pathology showed it was already spreading.
Very nice. My first one was caught at an appointment for my wife. She mentioned that I had something going on ad the dr. took a look at me right there.
wow
Glad they caught yours before it went too far :) need you around for many more years of babbling!
Hi all :)
Howdy, Liz :)
Hi Crossy
((crossy))
Did you get good results yesterday, Car?
Hi Lizlin!
Yay! Just scrolled back through the chat and saw that you don't need the iodine treatment. Awesome!!!!
Car is now an official member of the "Nine Lives" club. We have jackets. :)

hello Byz
It' going to be 90 today and tomorrow
Sounds good, Ruby - cosy - but not so good for a late spring day.
Thanks, Byz
ty Liz
It's the coldest ever spring here; there is still snow on the mountains. At least the flowers last longer
I heard that's the case across Europe - not pleasant.
Flowers are a benefit - but I'd prefer warmth.
Hello, Ruby
We had a cold spring up until today
Our cold winter nights are just starting - last night and tonight but I'm embarrassed to say what we consider cold.
No matter the weather, compared to ladt year when husband and I were both so sic, this is a pleaure
Mr. Bich has cataracts and he is dragging his feel abut having surgery. It's not supposed to be surgery of any consequence
People who've had cataract surgery talk about their lives being transformed.
And from my seat right now, I can see roses, peonies, iris, and more, plus the lake AND distant Snowy mountains
Sounds beautiful.
My sister had cataract surgery yesterday (in NY)
No roses or peonies here for another week
Enjoy your days everyone - back tomorrow to finish this grid.
bye liz

hi, all....we are so excited. my husband just got his service dog.
hi Angel, that is good news. why does he need a service dog if you do not mind my asking?
peri, my husband is a veteran, and he lives with ptsd and depression as a result
ok, I did not know this. I am glad he got his service dog.
so am I, Peri. He's a great dog, very gentle and sweet natured. He weighs nearly 100 pounds
What breed of dog is he?
<---guesses german shepard
Does anyone have any funny stories about their dogs? It would be just like old times when the chat was all about dogs. : P
I have some great ones.. but too long to tell here.. maybe over a couple cocktails someday
Oh Ru, good form. You are now getting your icons from www.gruesome.com
:D
reminds me of the American College girls drinking in a Scottish bar joke
my dog that we had when i was a kid liked to run really fast all around the edge of the yard when we yelled "catch that dog!" one corner of the yard had a slight dip where in the winter it would get icy. it was funny to watch her legs go out from under her when she took that corner, having forgotten about the ice problem from the previous winter
*calls Peta on Hurshy's family*
<---still has to pack, make dinner, make instructions for the pet-sitters, and is procrastinating
That is like one of those Jack Handy stories from Saturday Night Live of old. "I was going to take my nephew to Disneyland, Instead, I drove to an old, burned out warehouse. Oh no! Disneyland burned down"
Oh Ru, are you off to see your girlfriends in Canada? : P
no.. just friends
mostly to see that part of the country. it will be nice to get together with them though
Have a nice trip.
thank you. I plan to.. it's really beautiful where I'm going
i wish i could come on a trip somewhere really beautiful
my day has reduced me to a quivering lump of sugar-consuming sitcom-watching couch potato
this is my one vacation per year hursh
hope it's great :)
thanks
My day would spiral right into the toilet if I were a sugar consuming sit-com watcher.
My one weakness Ice cream... not into sugar otherwise
I can indulge in sweets from time to time, but not sit-coms. They have never appealed to me.
sit coms don't do much for me either.

number + old tv show "*** Gang*
ty une. I'm done.
congrats!
must sleep now - good night!
our gang was before my time. But I remember Andy's Gang with Andy Devine, and such great characters as Billy Gilbert and Vito Scotti.
it was before my time too but they used to show it on Saturday mornings along with Sky King and Ramar of the Jungle LOL
Was that Jon Hall as Ramar? And Sky King's niece, I believe, Penny
yes Jon Hall :-)
oh, and Rin-Tin-Tin was Sat. morning as well :-)
My favorite cartoons from that period were Crusader Rabbit and Ruff & Reddy
and Boris and Natasha!
and Mighty Mouse!
Heckel & Jeckel
yes!!
FW!!
and The Cisco Kid!
and Kon Tiki!
and Kit Carson -- looooved Kit Carson LOL
The two things I remember most from Crusader Rabbit were his bud, Ragland T. Tiger, and a place called the Nothing Atoll.
Happy Trails to you, until we meet again. Written by Dale Evans BTW.
