ooh, I got a time right! LOL I am so frazzled -- it was above 100 at our house this afternoon. Only the low humidity (topped at 21%) kept me from feeling overwhelmed. Inside stayed below 76 though, so that was good.
It's not cooling down very fast, though.

That's hot. Thank goodness the humidity was low.
Almost over! It's fine. Pretty mild here compared to many places. Still, when you live here, you acclimatise and feel cold at temperatures which seem warm to others.

oh gosh no! right now I can't remember her name, but it will come to me. Ru would know. I'm sure molly would know.
my cat is very very sick with lymphoma, not the GI kind but it's like, systemic, in her bone marrow and like she has lots inflammation of her organs and stuff
very sad. Does your vet have an onologist with whom to consult?
we gave her one chemo drug last week which did not work. we saw the oncologist and gave her a second one Thursday. she is worse, but, i don't know if that's the sort of "darkest before dawn" thing and it just needs more time to work, or if she's really had it. woke up at 4 am to her meowing unhappily.
if it weren't for the question about whether the drug might still start to work, i'd say for sure that it was time.
I'd expect chemo to work similarly in cats as people. And there are almost always nasty side effects... it is a poison, after all. the side effects tend to be transient
but like what's the timeframe? it's been... what about 38 hours? when should we expect to see improvement? that is what i need the oncologist to tell me.
potent stuff. my best buddy is going through it right now. aside from losing eyebrows, and sometimes hair, and extreme fatigue, it totally messes up her sense of taste.
it can be several days after a treatment. cats might have different timeframes, couldn't really say. you've checked intenet?
but, pets do not have as bad side effects as people with chemo, and this particular one especially not. it can increase lethargy and lower appetite - but those were problems she already had. so now they are worse.
yeah i've been trying to google to find a timeframe but no luck
my cat is insulin dependent diabetic now, and there have been a few scary moments - severe hypogylcemia, ketosis, and I've been able to find answers online.
if you call your vet, will you get a return call?

i'm working with a 24 hour facility that has the specialists. spoke to the ER vet and asked for call from oncologist ASAP when he arrives for the day, but they couldn't guarantee how soon it would be.
it won't be the same oncologist we saw, but that's ok

very well, thanks - my busy summer, with the exception of a couple of golf tournaments, is winding down. kids and grandchildren have visited and i'm just starting to get my energy back :D

Oh, Mother had a total hip replacement operation 3 weeks ago, against all medical advice, and she has failed to mobilise after it. I fear we are looking at nursing home for her.
oh dear. she did not do well in physical therapy?
She was unwell before she underwent surgery. Hence all the advice to postpone. She has been plagued by infections since the operation, and is very weak and debilitated. Worrying times.
well maybe she can go to a facility to recover from the infections and they get some therapy and possibly return home
Poor thing, that's awful.
On a positive note, my travelling daughter has arrived safely in Las Vegas. With a bit of luck, she will hit the jackpot, and redeem her aged mother from her financial woes!!

I sure hope she hits a jackpot

Yep. Mother is in a step-down facility now. She still hasn't managed to put her feet under her. But, she is getting good physio, so fingers crossed. (FIngers also crossed for a jackpot win in Vegas....).
