hello sprite
hi there Sprite
and ru
hiya ru! Do you miss the old days of fights and flares in babble? (just read your profile text)
hi flosey! Hope you had a nice day.
no.. not at all.. It just a comment on a silly thing another babbler said in the chat
I'm like everyone else. I don't care for the bickering here when it happens
very pleasant afternoon of bridge today with friends
ah :) I wondered. I for one am really glad we are back to the friendship and support that are so strong in the babble community.
bridge is pleasant isn't it flosey?
sounds very good, flosey!
always a favourite pastime
yes.. some of the negative, and rude players, and fakers have seemed to have gone away or moved onto another site to create problems.
looks that way, ru. Not a bad thing at all.
well.. it sure makes for a more pleasant place.. I do like open discussions but many of those are frowned upon.
oh, a good discussion is very much my cup of tea. As long as it doesn't become ugly or spiteful. And not about politics or religion P:)
without the P
cooee and g'day to all. {{hugs}} an' lots of kisses for my friends. and, yes, ruru, that DOES include you
*hugs rose* Hello my dear friend. How lovely to finally see you again early in my game... and not ready to run out again... or are you? ;)
hi Rose
nope, you is gonna have to put up with me... lolll
hi flosey xoxox
good! How was your day? Did movie night go well?
movie night was good. had about 10 peeps there. home after being out for most of the day, nearly 11pm. i slept soundly for once, and so did himself.
glad you slept well. And Don too. Are the tantrums down again?
today has been quietish. i have gone through all the papers beside my chair. the archeological dig is now about a trowel's worth... *grin*
wow, that is a great job, rose. Well done.
yeah, for the time being. he has had his fix of movies and dinner out.;-P
tantrums?
is Don going through Manopause?
yeah ruru, himself has tantrums
anyone know clues to en7 44?
hmmm, i think he is over manopause.
lol, we call that the penopause
tell him to cut back on the steroids GR :D
hello Anna, not yet but I will help look
thank you sprite

yikes i must be dim
great minds ruru :)
lol ruru... you naughty man. i think he gets stir crazy. i must remember to get him out at least once/week.
not seeing a word is never dim, Anna. Just babble blindness.
cabin fever tantrums.
ahhh there it is. THank you. Was stuck on that one.
(interesting final comment in your bio knighttime
absolutely sprite. it can't be easy for him when i get worse.
i would comment but I do not want to disturb the irenic bliss that is the babble chog
he can be a big boy and go out by himself too, rose :)
*explosive laughter* knighttime.
ah, the eternal competition of who is the most hardcore babbler... who gives a fk?
yeah i know, but he is reluctant to leave me alone when the fibromyalgia is peaking again.
I do my best to not list.. but cave in when I want to finish and the grid is too tough
you will have to find him errands then, rose. And reassure him that even with the FM being a bitch, you can still manage for a couple of hours.
I have to catch Dart ya know :D
ugh like yesterday's, ru. I hit a very hard wall before even halfway. Long before. And when halfway, I listed and still had trouble.
ruru, do you ever speak to dart, outside of babble?
and for crying out loud... who would even think of putting a consonant after maribou????
no.. I don't.. he doesn't really chat any longer. he was a lot of fun to banter with. don't know what happened. Maybe he just wants to do the grid and get on with his day
phantom: interior
moonwoof used to email him.. but I never traded emails with him
ah, moonwoof. I used to email with her too.
a shame really, ruru. he seemed a very nice person.
me too. I liked her a lot.. interesting person
very nice and very, very bright guy
dart is a smartie
smart is a dartie
I just sent you an email, ru
Confusion complicates clarity.
hiya Byz. It even obfuscates it.
sorry folks, am falling asleep, goodnight all

am having some leftover baguette from yesterday, with ham and farmer salad. Here, we can share.
hmmm, you want some of my tortellini carbonara?
for breakfast? Thanks darling, but I think I will have to pass :)
*giggle* ohhh that reminds me some cold chicken in the fridge. brb
lollll
yum yum yum
cold chicken is so satisfying, for some reason.
can't type, busy stuffing face... drool
hah, found the last blanc tile.
*steals some of rose's cold chicken*
no stealing, you are welcome to share.
ah good! *settles in*
ouch sprite. that was my finger.
cold chicken, cold rose, tomato tomahto
jeez louise, you've got sharp teeth
uhhuh. Sharpened them on sondear last week :D
roflolll... poor T. bet he's skulking around with his tail between his legs.
not anymore, he isn't. We had a good talk. And since then he has tackled his laundry, cleaned out his room, vacuumed and mopped, put new linen on his bed and even... watch this... makes his bed every morning before leaving for school.
also adjusted his behaviour to something more social than his angry young man routine
egad, girl. i am guessing that knowing what the consequences are in no uncertain terms has opened his eyes.
I think so. He is cooking for himself, doing his own shopping, it looks like he finally got the message things had to change.
hoorah!!! finally !!!
amen to that. I am having a tough job with walking terra twice a day now, but in the end it will be good for me, I think. The rest is easily handled. And not having the constant stress of bickering and policing his chores makes up for it.
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!
not an easy grid for me, but fun.
thanks hun :)
hope you have a lovely day honey.xoxox
*hugs* to you and your beloved. I hope you both sleep well again. Bye ru! *hugs* Bye Byz and KnightTime and ursh and the rest.
Anyone have stats for the lone N in the bottom row or the I in the first column?
ni4/4
Ah, should have seen that one. Fish time
in4/7, in5/16
Again - more fish - thanks guys!
ninm
good morning, just
Hello.
hi ruby...
Hello. I'm stuck with 26 to go. Can't find the topmiddle n
hi bojazz
don't have it either...
That top middle N is a weird word - I monkied it. It's ni6/36 and plural.
Have you watched Bojack Horseman?
Sort of a namesake
it's a silly wordRuby, bit like the dog the police use to find drugs
thx matty...
thanks, I wouldn't even have tried that
It's Scottish for trade.
lol never heard it used!
don't know Bojack???
That's true of many, many Enable words
Me neither !!
It's a carton series for adults of netflix and has manyvery funny animal/people situations
I just don't know jack : P
will give it a look :)
Half of the characters are peple and half have animals heads and characteristics
The concept is very funny, but if profanity is offensive to you, don't Watch it
sometimes I am profane myself...
For example, one of themain characters is half Labrador and half man: he is alway soptimi, has a vanity licensepalte "good dog" and circle the bed (next to his wife) before lying down, justlike all dogs
lol
sorry for the typos but my eyes are very blurry tody
I'll be quiet now
Ruby, you don't have to apologize for typos here. Plenty are made by everyone.
would you mind if I use caps?
No, if you have to do that to see, go ahead. Your best bet is to enlarge your screen though.
ENLARGING JUST MAKES THE BLURS LARGER
THIS IS TOO UNPLEASANT, BUT THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS;
((RUBY))
Fireworks. I like the short grids (I know that makes me unusual) - they're usually not so much of a commitment and slog. Have a great day all!
tc, Matty

oh, a small one. First word found is alcoholic. I can see how THIS day is going to go! ;-)
"finnite" a dorsal appendage with a fixed length... *sigh*
okay. NBT and NBS and I need tea. good luck, all - this one may be small, but it feels mighty
en----
Always nice to see an alcoholic beverage in the grid.
Greetings, all!
nite
Sorry.
*Passes Judi an alcoholic beverage
Ty, ty. *glug*
Your are safe. I think all the Puritans have left the building.
Off to party with the Quakers, no doubt.
And the Jehovah's Witnesses
Oh wait, scratch that. The Jehovah Witness people don't celebrate anything.
True. Abstain from everything. Except knocking on doors on a Saturday morning when all the sinners are still sleeping.
... wait until you're related to one ... you get a subscription to their newspaper in the mail
Thank goodness for recycling.
... it didn't exist in those ancient days ... but yes that would be helpful now
We used to know some JWs. We always sent them a Christmas card... until they got divorced.
Good one, Judi...
It must be a hard life, subscribing to "not celebrating" anything.
... my older daughter's first date was with one and he was a nice kid ...
I grew up in it, horrible. There I was in 2nd grade not allowed to salute the flag with the rest of the kids, and of course no holidays
What is the point of a spirituality that promote "no happiness"?
*sneaks a cupcake to Mubner*
Thanks, Judi. Looking back I can only say it is a form of child abuse.
It must have been very confusing. We had a boy in our grade school who was JW. He had to leave the room whenever we had a holiday party. Even Halloween!
Although, I don't remember him not reciting The Pledge.
We just sat and watched the other kids open their xmas gifts, valentines and envy the halloween costumes. It was not any kind of fun, and mostly humiliating.
When did you leave the fold, Mubner?
I was an outsider, didn't fit in, couldn't make friends with anyone unless they were in the church. Yikes, no wonder I'm such a deeply committed alcoholic. :)
Got out around 20, but I had outages on and off from age 10
Seems like it would be an easy thing to rebel against. Especially when you're made to watch everything you're missing out on all through school.
Mubner, I wish you well. There is more to life than drowning in liquor because of your dysfunctional past.
Yes, the shunning and the shaming is the worst.
You're right, Molly, I was making a crass joke, sorta...
Oh good. : D
I can see why kids would run like hell from a home that did not allow fun and celebration.
... 28 left and half of them are eses (checking to make sure that it's not in the grid) ... a good start ... back later ... lcu
... luck to all and a sunny sky at the end of the afternoon showers ...
Nothing but hot hot hot here. No rain in sight.
It has been a beastly summer her on the Right Coast, Judi.
Molly, the other really negative part is that we were never taught to save money, plan for the future, go to college because "the end" was near. That's a lot of fear to deal with
good morning everyone
Damn, Mubner. That borders on child abuse.
Agreed
just read the chat and still chuckling over stids def of finnite -- love the way that girl's mind works :-)
Yeah. What a drag. I'd say that "religion" has been debunked time and time again. Oops. Not the end of the world? Well, stay tuned. Maybe next week.
Some people have a strange way of interpreting life.
Clue for Fo7, please?
fo 7: moved away ahead of time
Ty, Nan.
anyone here make peach cobbler?
MMm. Sounds yummy, TO.
no, but have made apple cobble -- wouldn't it be the same?
I am a Southern Belle. I make Peach Cobbler all the time.
yes except perhaps flavoring. wondering if cinnamon in dough or fruit?
I think there's an all-purpose cobbler recipe on the back of the Bisquik box.
Yes, definitely cinnamon.
I'm sure there will be a recipe on the net if you google it
but where?
i would put the cinnamon in the fruit.
just google "peach cobbler recipe"
Try alrecipes.com I have had very good luck with them
i am using paula deen's recipe, a coworker used it and gets raves. cinnamon and or almond goes with peach
You can put the cinnamon in either. All the flavors blend while baking.
I would put it in the dough as you won't be adding sugar to the filling like you would for apple cobbler
ty i will do a compairson. i have fresh nectarines, i prefer them'
*assuming you are using fresh fruit
yes there will be a bit of sugar while cooking them
wouldn't they be harder to peel?
I'm not a fan of allrecipes.com. Too many pop ups. If you parboil your fruit, the skin slips right off.
i do not know if i will peel them. easier i think, they are firmer.
i will NEVER use any of ree drummond's recipes. the pioneer woman is a fraud.
I agree TO, I don't like The Pioneer Woman site.
never heard of par boiling -- a dip in hot water, maybe. But then we are fortunate to live in an area where tree ripened fruit is readily available
peach slices are cooked. i imagine the peels slide off
Parboiling IS a dip in hot water. For peaches, nectarines, tomatoes...anything with thin skin.
the pioneer woman's cooking is mired in the 1950's
i think if the fruit is too ripe it will not work as well
yes, that works well.
i have no one to feed it to except me. bad timing.
If the fruit is too ripe, the recipe comes out mushy.
to each his own --- I hate to spoil fresh fruit by cooking it
I guess newfie isn't a word!
later, all
neither is innie, apparently
Fireworks!
my fav peach dessert is fresh peach pie

Still waiting for "Jewfro" which is a legitimate thing.
