i made onion/spinach soup that was super with chicken broth but i accidently poured in too much salt. very thirsty now.
I think if you put in a potato it will absorb some of the salt.
I use little or not added salt

help with IN 7/36 (second one - right after takke in food) pls
I am back after volunteering at the local elementary school (with DH!) for their annual carnival! (It's all of 2 blocks from our home; & our grandson is in 2nd grade there). Our volunteer shifts were 1 1/2 hours long, then we stayed for about 45 minutes longer. But by that point, the noise & activity were too much for "us old fogeys" & we had to come home. I don't know how teachers can take it; but maybe the noise & activity for a carnival is much worse than while school is in session.

teach; I have been trying to imagine how noisy that must have been; & my ears are still ringing fromthis evenings noise. One of the things about this school is that it's got so much exposed concrete & very little sound reducing material; I know that there used to be acoustical ceilings in some schools; or even sheet rock walls; but this school has absolutely no type of building material for sound reduction at all

Yes, the nurse in south florida is fine -- but I am not sure where in the "sunshine" state aloyisius lives. Keeping everyone in the path (and dealing with the aftermath) in my heart... feeling very sad about Haiti.

Infection control is part of nursing; she's the one who follows infections (& reminds doctors to wash their hands, keep their # of in hospital infections low, encourages people to get their yearly flu shots & etc

Infection control nurses *usually* don't carry their own patient loads; but she was on call the night of that shooting & I believe she was called in because of being on call & the number of patients involved.
nef, the study looks interesting but it doesn't say anything about them studying INSOMNIA which is the brain problem that *I* want them to study
When there is a serious community emergency, nurses are called in to help out. When the 35W bridge went down here in the Twin Cities, I was working in risk management at that time (I was on workers comp after 3 surgeries from an on the job injury to my foot) so I wasn't called in. But I did say I could help in the ER with triage;but so many nurses came in that they didn't need me.
hurshy, the study is more about dementia/ Alsheimer's and such; but they also ask lots of questions about sleep too. I'll bet that there are studies out there specifically for insomnia...

I just filled out a survey this week about how my brain is comapred to last year. They asked all sorts of sleep-related questions: including normal bedtimes, how long does it take to fall asleep, how many times do you wake up, do you use sleeping meds, etc
