Well, winter has arrived. Although, we are not too bad here. Western NY got hit hard with snow last week but we missed it.
I used to really look forward to Christmas but after my mother died it lost a lot of appeal. Especially since the rest of my family lives either out west or in Scotland. Now, I look forward to it because of Doctor Who :)

school has a half day today, each class for 26 minutes. The students are wild, flying high....I have SO much to do to get ready for thanksgiving tomorrow, 100% due to me being a procrastinating nightmare
If I procrastinated when it came to Thanksgiving my clan would be eating a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner. : D
looking pretty good to me right about now, molly! I have all the shopping done, it's just a matter of getting it all together, firing up the flamethrower, and cleaning the house. I HATE cleaning. And it shows
I tried to get reservations one year at this lovely inn at the base of a mountain, but I was too late. You have to make them WAY in advance. I was trying to give myself a "Thanksgiving off".
I need to chill out and remember that it is about the family and getting everyone together and such. if there are a few dust bunnies here and there I will be embarrassed and sorry, but that's all. and that's what will have to be, and I have to get over the standards I hold myself against.
That is the best way to approach it. Most people don't notice have the "unclean things" that you do.

I don't know how people keep up with who does Daylight Savings and who doesn't.
We live quite near the border with New South Wales - they do have daylight saving. Very confusing if we go to friends there - have to be specific about which time it is. The airport serves both areas too. You have to know that it works on Queensland time.

we are similar size land mass wise and we have 3 or 4 time zones so quite similar then

In Canada, Newfoundland has a time zone half an hour later than any other. For years, we were accustomed to hearing on CBC radio that a national show was on at a certain time, and "half an hour later in Newfoundland".
We do have other time zones, obviously, but I guess a radio show couldn't start on the half hour.
Then there's Saskatchewan, which has sensibly decided to ignore daylight-savings time.
obviously they have stubborn cows set in their ways too
i think there are parts of Arizona that don't observe daylight saving time....
... which of course means for eight months they're on the same time as Manitoba which borders them on the east and for the other four months they're on the same time as Alberta which borders them on the west... ... no cows ... just wheat and canola
