back with coffee, willing to share
Thankyou but I just finished one. Lovely to see you again.
hi lyn :) xxx Great to see you too. How are you and yours?
PS the other day when I 'saw' you I started getting red bars and Babble wouldn't work for me at all. Sent message but nothing happened. Must have appeared rude.
not at all. I know how temperamental babble can be.
We are all very well . How are you all - I saw your daughter is away now - how far away?
in the far south of our country. But since the netherlands are only tiny, it is 'just' a 3 hour drive.
You have good public transport?
very good, on the whole. If there are no issues along the way, Caya can travel to us in about 3,5 hours
we miss her a lot. But she has changed her plans for Xmas, she will be home for Xmas day and boxing day!
Of course you do! I am pretty close to my daughter and it took me many many months to 'let go' emotionally - so I understand.
:) it is part of our job as a parent, isn't it? Letting them go with a smile and a hug?
and mind you she is a whole 10 minutes drive away!
*grin* That is wonderfully close. But still. She is gone from your house and daily life, and that takes some getting used to for sure.
It does..what is your son doing now?
looks like that pretty -ious ending is rather useless :(
he is studying, chemistry (?). In Amsterdam, which is close to our home, so he is still living with us.
(chemistry was correct)
do you have to pay for tertiary education in Holland? Here you can either pay up front each 6 months or repay when you are earning over a specified amount
they are constantly changing the rules about that. Right now, the students can borrow the costs for study and living from the state, and they have to pay it off when they are earning over a certain amount. Or you can pay up front every year.
sounds the same
yeah, except for the period of time you can pay up front for.
lot of nice co7's, 8
| keep seeing contour and it drives me bananas. Helly hursh.
hi Hurshy, lovely to see you have filled that hole in your heart

yes sprite - concern, contour, concrete...
probably not good to be staring at a screen though, bad for sleeping
those too
well, it just varies for me lynxxx, sometimes babble makes me sleepy. but i have to be awake long enough to drink my tea with lemon and honey anyway
I have to be off, must drive my son to the dentist. He broke a tooth. Have a lovely day, hursh, and lyn, a lovely night
bye spritey

Hi Liz
I'm doing laundry so in an out :)
I'm just really tired tonight and will be heading to bed soon.
How are you today?
Excellent morning. I had my "bbone shot" and blood test and the wreath and poinettias arrived.
I love poinsettias
I am stuck on the H, both bottom E's and 8's and 9
Winter has arrived here, -15 and snowy and blowy
ha 4/5 - German word for hair
the only H I have is HA 4/6

I only like white ones because my living room is mostly beige, wood, and a few small touches of dark blue
For matching, I can see that but I love the red ones.

There is an hi8, but it is a very odd word

hello again - back from shopping - 3 more gifts down
yes.
I admire anyone who can get out in the crowds of Christmas shoppers to buy their gifts. I am all about ordering them on line these days.
mains done - just stocking stuffers now
sometimes the hardest because in our family they are usually little gadgets that you would like to have, but wouldn't go and buy for yourself
I sometimes do themed stuffers. like office supplies, tape, glue, glitter, pens (buy larger packs and divide them. Wrapping them is a pain.
found some flavoured olive oils that will be good for a couple of them
I got flavored olive oils last Christmas. I still have not used them. *Blush*
they are great on salads (the fruit ones) and the savoury one are great for frying chicken or fish
I also like the fruit ones for dipping cubes of bread
Good suggestions, thank you.

Hi stid.

I have to keep wandering off; I still have 150 words to find. But You are much better than I am at finding words.
I am pretty tired, though... getting up early to go help retrieve various sons of friends at the airport tomorrow. :-) Took a whole day off to facilitate the first year with everyone home for the holidays in almost 4 years!!! :-D
WooHoo! (Then again, I know it's been a tough week or 2 for you)
sect
From the beginning of November (our school has half days in the first full week for parent conferences...) until the time we get back in January, the kids are a MESS from all the comings and goings and schedule changes and ... I keep teaching, but to be honest it's a lot of running to just keep a little bit ahead of them.
OOOPS!
LOL
Teaching isn't an easy job.
neither is nursing...
LOL! Very true. But at least as a nurse, we don't have to correct homework on our time off (& not get paid for it)
true, but I don't usually have to wipe up strange and interesting fluids (today was a rare exception... LOL)
oh-oh. Someone get sick in class?
not really -- sneezed into his elbow the way we teach them... LOL you can figure out the rest, I think!
Oh, yuk! Snot everywhere I'm guessing
*grin*
Fortunately we have LOTS of disposable wipes, thanks to the parents this year.
That's good. I hope you have enough to last through the whole year, then.
damn
Sorry once more.(I belong it the PB X 2 now
probably -- when I don't, I can always get more. Being in my grade there aren't a lot of unexpected body functions ... we just don't have "accidents" that often.
LOL thanks again!
DH & I went Christmas shopping this afternoon; we got to 2 stores & were back home in less than 2 hours; but Boy!We are both so tired...
oh, it is exhausting just to get groceries this time of year!
We really didn't have much problems with huge crowds or anything; it was just difficult to be "out" in public for him (& since I'm his caretaker; I worried a lot.
hm. halfway...
oh -- and the viruses this time of year, too -- is he susceptible to more things than he used to be?
Go stid, go! You can do it!!!
yes. He's immune-suppressed (he's on meds that lower his resistance to infection)
ah - that stinks.
well, down to 106, and it is definitely time for me to sleep... be well ((hugs)) I will be online a bit more often the next couple weeks since I am on vacation. :-) Looking forward to a bit of "me" time and babble!
yeah; but he's been on that medicine for about 15 years; so he usually does all he can to protect himself from others bugs.
:-D Niters, stid! Take GOOD care of yourself please!
