I always teased my DH that the reason I married him was because he could cook! While we were dating, he made a meal for me that included stuff Corning Game Hens (with mushroom & walnuts & who knows what else in the stuffing)

Yep! Growing up I had no interest in cooking but I always heard that the way to a man's heart was through his stomach; but it was the opposite with us.

My Dad was the good cook too, and my Mom was terrible at cooking.
We got married in our late 20's; he'd been through the Navy & was going to college on the GI bill. I was already an RN & I always ate my main meal of the day at the hospital.
my mom was a horrible cook
SO, for the first 2 years of our marriage he did ALL the cooking.
I did most of the cooking for my brother and me
my parents were gone all the time gambling

I've learned through the years; now I do almost all of the cooking (even with our son living here. I still don't *enjoy* cooking; but I can whip up a decent meal in less than an hour without using packaged food.
