Hi all
The grid .. And everything el4
today i discovered that a grown woman of my acquaintance, who is older than me, did not really know that there were state Capitol buildings and then a federal one... and thought that the CA state capitol had been a possible target on 9/11.
apparently, she dropped out of school, so... she doesn't know things
Wowsers ..
hello everyone
you'd think just watching news coverage at the time would have made you aware that there were no west coast targets
I work with an otherwise smart person who was convinced that Obama had somehow made all the ammunition manufacturers create gunpowder that would expire on a certain date, so that civilian guns would not work when he came to confiscate all the guns ..
scary isn't it, when you think how many of the population is undereducated.
hahahahaha
scarier still when you realize that they can vote!
They do vote. That's how we have our current situation.
i also love the headlines these days, "since it turns out that trump can't actually make the keystone pipeline buy US made steel..."; "since it turns out trump can't actually make mexico pay for a border wall..."

Very well thank you, What a lovely week we're having weather wise. Hope you are well too
lovely weather here too. Feels like spring already. I am well, thank you :)
I'm off to the park later with my grandchildren and the dog.
sounds perfect. I had a nightshift last night, I may go lie down for a nice nap later
Poor you, I'm lucky enough to be retired now and loving every minute
oh it is for my volunteer job. I don't mind!
Actually I joke that I am on maternity leave. I usually look after my grandchildren 4 days a week but both mothers had babies last year so they are on maternity leave which means I am too
hehehe :D
I officially start again in September
a nice long summer ahead of you then
Yes but will be out with the children anyway
g'day, f'day hugs and kisses all round. xoxoxoxox
HI Rose

hehehe well there might be. Feel free to let us know. Nothing is written in stone... except probably the Anne Frank house. We have to make reservations and buy tickets in advance. But it is indoors, so the weather doesn't matter. It will be fine.

don't worry about that, hun.

Free clue and good day Babblers!
Hi Scrabs
Good morning Sukee.
I passed halfway and must get ready for work now. Enjoy the day.
Okay, I read the chog and someone said this is an easy grid. I mustn't be awake yet because I find it hard going.
Good for you scrabs, have a good day
It was tough to get to halfway. I still need an N and H for NBT. And a 7.
I found an H. Duh.
..se6/7... there are four of them in a year
TY :)
TY. Now I need a lower N.
na5/22 - a muslim king ?
not a king, high official
Morewords helped me find that na5. TY, Cosmo!
And now I must get ready for a long work day and I am on call tonight. :-(
Hello. Clue for the y, pls, for nbt
Is anybody here or are you all snowed-in?
... hey ruby
Hello dose
... yw4/10
hah, a little Welsh!
How are ytou? Did the blizzard pass you by?
... Cymric.... Welsh is English
After an unusually bitter but dry winter, Spring finally arrived!
... yeah ... we missed it ... it hit the south shore of the lake from at least Hamilton, Buffalo and Rochester but not particularly hard ... ... the north shore missed it
I used to live in Binghamton and my sister (in NYC) told me that Bing had about 3 feet
... Atlantic coast from at least Pennsylvannia through to Nova Scotia got socked
... I'd bet that they were included in the coverage of the big Atlantic storm ...
We get much less snow now than when I first came
here
And no hard frost even with the bitter cold
cosse
sorry
... true ... we used to get far more than we get now ... it came sooner and lasted longer
Hard frost is needed to kill off insects like ticks
For the first time, there are hedgehogs in tthe garden, 2 so far, and the dog goes insane!
... Toronto is so big and there is so much power generation that there is this heat island over it ... it directs the snow from the midwest either to the south to dump on upstate New York or the north to dump on sukee and ski country around Lake Simcoe
That's very interesting
... we had a whole flock of robins in the neighbours bush the other day ... they got caught in this last freeze ... I'm sure they're not happy
The colorful birds are back, most of them small but totally different from No; American birds
The feeder is close enough to the house that I'm able
to identify ll these new birds which have been added to my "life list"
I thought "snus" was Tobacco you put in your cheek
Only if you're Swedish, I guess
Bye for now
... maybe it's a brand name... have avoid all contact with chewing tobacco since the Finnish foreman at the lumber camp I worked one summer tricked all the southern boys with "chocolates" ... which were really tobacco ...
... see you soon
dish
sorry and good morning
... thank you ... one of my careless misses ... and goodmorning

lower O and N in 2nd column are still blank
one of my girlfriends is the DC Goodwill Fashionista -- she runs their blog and hosts meetups/events to get people coming out to the local Goodwill stores.
yes, we have some of those here, too...i try to go when the season is about to change....more stuff on sale then...
oc 4/5, os 4/4

there is a REALLY good kids consignment shop in our area that i adore.
the one here is too far from me, too....but i know people who have gone...
My cousin owned one in our area and it was a tremendous help clothing two growing boys!
it does pay to be thrifty
I cannot see paying full value for clothes they outgrow so quickly.
help with lower O please
gh to visit one of those yet. (also, there arent any all that close...probably about an hour away)
the oc is like the killer whales without one of the consonants

ours has "super saturday" once a month (i think its the last saturday of the month) where the entire store is 50% off. on those days, if youre not waiting outside at opening time, dont bother coming later. heh

i know some people that live in different parts of tx they seem to love it. their kids though i don't know what they think about being there
yes lots of flooding in parts of the state, and tornadoes always a possibility
yeah the weather is good there so i have heard
but flooding and tornadoes i could do without ty
but i am in nc so....
I'm in Dallas so very different than rural parts...
hello again
seems like no matter where you go there is a weather danger of some sort, or earthquakes, etc
blah yeah i have always thought about weather wise where he safest place to live would be?
hi again cyber
just reading the chat --- think I really do live in the ideal spot...no blizzards, no hurricanes, no tornadoes, no trump
but you do get lots of snow and it can be windy and very cold there
and lots of rain
cyber:)
no here mlf
winnipeg, calgary, montreal maybe, but not here
sounds lovely nan!
I missed the clue for the sc5
we had 8" of accumulated snow at one time, but only

ty mlf
minus is not good doesn't matter fi it is c or f lol
yw peri
we also have had some terrible ice storms and little equipment to deal with it, so just have to wait til it melts pretty much
Kelowna is in the southern interior of BC -- about 60 miles north of the border
so you don't get much in the way of weather off the coast of canada
a woman i used to work with just moved to Kelowna. I love her pictures on facebook, so pretty
mlf -- minus 12 Celsius = plus 10 Fahrenheit
well under 30 f is not exactly warm
10 F is COLD
brrr! we had a couple of days with ~15 F and wind chill of 0
thank you for that clarification cyber:)
blah yikes! its been in the 30s and 40s here the last few days brrr
she didn't get a very good winter to welcome her, blah -- the worst I can remember in 50 years or more
however 79-80 next couple of days :D
that's too bad nan!
temperatures here are supposed to go up
yes it is warming up here too. 53F this morning and the sun has only been up for 2 hours
blue skies and sunny here today
sun is out here too. it will be above freezing later today and I will see if I can shovel snow/ice from around my car
need to get to the market, running low on stuff
peri have fun with that:)
so, im a sucker for broccoli salad + our caf charges for most of their food by weight. so on broccoli salad days, i always end up paying too much for lunch... :: sigh ::
why not look for a recipe on line and make some yourself, Eva?
peri don't you have, bread and milk and eggs for French toast already?
I do have the necessities.

we just got a foot of snow and expecting a few inches saturday night....kinda cool here, too...
hagd everyone
bye cyber
that's awful, pen -- think we've finally seen the last of it -- hope so anyway
i am happy for you....
I think the snow we had 10 days ago was the last hurrah
We've had a week of fog and rain, but sunny and warm today. It takes about 6 weeks for the lake surface to warm up, so we will have fog most mornings for a while
That's what I said about 5 dayss ago. Now we have lots of it all over the place. Doubtful the temps will be warm enough for meltage for the rest of the month
if you have good sun, some of it will melt....March's sun is strong...
we have had some melting today even though the temp is under 30...
The trouble is after it melts, it freezes up again and there is way too much ice
well we have the advantage of frequent breezes....they help dry up the liquid...
You're near the water where it is warmer
well it's still below 30 today...
bye everyone - hagd
26 right now...
bye nan....
We've got 34 now, but the wind chill makes it much colder
but the wind will help dry up the melting ice...
maybe pen
i try to think positive... ;o)
We are going to CA in early April to visit with the graand kids. When we return I expect it to be decent

yup. its the others i need.
NM. just got the other A's.
as 5...alternative to a tie...
the to 7 is the same as the bo 7 just change the first letter
(which, of course, gave me the similar ES words) :)
no 5 and 6....negative prefix + the function of something...how you *** it....
6 and 7, actually. :) THX!
I was about to say that eva
sorry, yes...
I need a clue for the other no6 pls?

It's a monkeying kind of day.
well I never! I just monkeyed a 7
sobway...it's when you miss your train
good for you mael!
still have six 7s to go out of the 20 remaining...should be fun
I only have two 7s to go, 13 left. Not a terrible grid today
picked up two of the 7s...so down to 4 of those
make that one 7
i liked this grid...
don't usually like ones with lots of non-E vowels...
pretty sure it liked you too pen :)
haven't listed yet, that's the mark of an enjoyable grid :)
yeah, I find it more challenging that way
if I was to list, then it becomes more a math problem than a word one
which is kind of fun too.
yeah, just not for me hego :)
makes it too easy for me
yeah, I'm with hego. When I'm done beating my head against the wall I list, it's fun to puzzle the words out. Sometimes they're blatantly obvious and I have no idea how I missed them in the first place
but...I don't begrudge others doing it
which might be the case with the 5 Cs I'm missing out of 8 total...
I only have three C's left
2 C's now...and 3 7s :)
forgot a plural
i'm down to 2 Cs too
go mael go!
mael is awesome
