Hello, Molly :-) WE have done lots of tests at the hospital and thankfully the cancer has not come out of the prostate. So can be managed. but he is stil porrly and we are trying to work out why he keeps fainting and other things that are happening.
So in all better than what we were first told..but still a lot to do to make him in less pain. But he is more upbeat which is good.

It was a random picture of an injured person lying there being helped, and she is walking past, complete with headscarf, looking at her phone. Some people have made comments about her apparent disregard - or worse. Good to see others jump in and call it for the uninformed garbage it is.

Yesterday a 10 month old boy said hi to me. Blew me away. I was looking down at my computer and heard a little voice, realized it wasn't his 4 year old sister. He can already say 10 words--very early talker!
so when do they normally start? i literally know nothing about such things.
At 12 months babies usually say 1-3 words, such as mama, dada, baba.

Hey, Babblers, I wrote to Inge, long-time ElderBabbler and her daughter emailed me back yesterday. Inge has not been here in several years due to macular degeneration but I have still emailed with her. Now she has developed mild dementia and balance issues.

She is in her mid to late 80's now. She was able to enlarge the font on her computer so could read my emails.
i always took her for younger, but i guess that meant she is young at heart.

I am sorry. Blame the ipad. Even the browser on this old computer totally freezes up if i let the screen saver start.
Babble was listed on some website or blog or something as great free things to do on the internet.
I was using StumbleUpon and had listed word games as an interest.
i think a friend of mine was babbling (that was long before we had paid accounts) and turned me onto it, knowing i was a word-nerd.
i remember stumbleupon! i think theres an app for it now, but i don't have it. my husband does.
i have since turned a few others onto it, though none are quite as chatty as i am. ;)

Yesterday her husband visited for 30 minutes. She had a headache (surprise) and wanted to sleep so she sent him home. I am not sure if it is worth driving 50 minutes to the city for her to tell me the same thing.
yeah, she may very well just want to rest again. i spent one night in the hospital and was annoyed by all visits but husband. besides, who needs a visitor for one night?

Ryan was never a Trump guy and there have been no allegations made regarding the congressional and senate races. Invalidating the executive would have to include Pence as part of that corrupted election. There'd be little choice but to place Ryan in the oval. I imagine it would also destroy the Republicans in 2018 mid-terms. The houses would be tasked with the constitutional crisis, hearings and prosecutions. The Watergate hearings essentially nullified Ford's time in office.

i applied for a job only to be told that they are "most likely" (read: definitely) going to hire an internal candidate. and i'm like, well what did you POST it for then? i worked for like four hours on the freakin cover letter for it, all for nothing. it's not like they have a union and would be required to post jobs because of that.
I can't keep up with all the "new terms". That used to be referred to as "self-sabotage"
and they already know me there, and i felt like, i really NEED that "in" in order to get hired, because i have such a lack of self-confidence, i need the advantage of people who have seen that i'm good. i can't sell myself in interviews. i need someone else to believe in me and encourage me, not be convinced by me that i'm good.
that is disappointing for sure. I am sorry that happened to you. I had it happen lots of times but it just means you wouldn't have liked working with those types anyway

when my daughter reached her 30's she thanked me one day for my standard response to "I can't", which was "How do you know if you don't try". As she used to stomp off as a teen whenever I said that, I was flabbergasted --- so a double message there keep trying and never give up!

Hursh, didn't you just move to a new area of the country? Sometimes it is hard to find new work in that situation if you did not already set something up.

we moved in august 2015. i have been pursuing an MA, working part-time, and am now wrapping up my degree and having to do the job search.
Sorry, I guess I don't get the difference between self-handicapping and self-sabotage.
and it's just... been very stressful since Jan 1... and now that that job isn't an option, that means i DEFINITELY have an unknown period of continued stress instead of maybe getting settled quickly and happily.
I don't interview well either, hurshy but I know when I can do the job.

Hurshy it could be they were required by law to advertise the job. In Canada, jobs at federally or provincially funded workplaces must advertise available positions, whether they can be filled internally or not. (hospitals, universities, colleges, etc)
this is a private company, i am pretty sure they aren't required to.
It is hard hurshy ... I have been applying for a new job without a lot of success. I get to the second interview point usually and then nothing. It can be hard on you.

it isn't that i'm having trouble. i'm just starting to look, now. and i saw that one and it seemed like my dream come true, and i was just so hoping that that could be it and drastically shorten my job search and my stress could end quickly.
the ending of my degree program has just been a stressful period as well, so i feel like, ACK! i just can't handle moving from that to now the stress of the job search, and like, zero rest in between - in fact, some overlap.
