we had put some rice cereal in bis bottle to thicken it a bit a little while ago... but wednesday night he tried green beans. definitely was NOT a fan of those. last night, we tried thicker rice cereal off a spoon. not really a fan of that either. also gave him a strawberry in a mesh feeder -- he was so-so on that...
weve got a few tastier things lined up, but i figured we would start with the harder sells. heh
Switch to oatmeal, much more nutritious and tastier.

the heroine is getting crazy, and fentanyl is the only thing that could keep bill remotely comfortable in his last year.
Two weeks ago a mother from our practice died of an OD and her two oldest kids had already lost their father to an OD.

Fentanyl is an effective pain reliever, but when users are shooting up they don't know what dose they are getting.

Yes. Some docs are afraid to rx pain meds so as to not create an opiate addict, but a dying patient is a separate issue. They need pain relief and compassion. The other issue is that the DEA monitors MD's opiate rxs.
A friend of mine was abruptly pulled from his office and interviewed by 2 DEA officers about his opiate prescribing pattern a few years ago. Docs are afraid to rx these meds now.
yes, my family doc has a notice that not opiates will be prescribed and will be referred to a pain clinic. it only bothers me because it puts an added level of effort on people who desperately need it.
Even the local pain MD was arrested last fall for prescribing too many opiates! People from all over the state come to him for relief but the DEA targeted him. When other docs (from Hospice) covered his practice (after a several week delay which meant patients were without meds and were in pain!) they discovered how well this doc ran his practice. So this doc will likely be acquitted.

Jerry Brown is the governor. He was also the governor back in the 70's. He is awesome. A fiscal conservative and a social liberal. And, I grew up with him. He was a fiend of my mother's.
Jerry is someone who can bring both sides of the aisle together. Actually, I didn't mind the "Governator" at all. He wasn't horrible. Which, unfortunately, is all we can ask for these days.

I knew him before he was elected governor in the 70's. He is actually a very cool guy. His father was governor of California also. That was before my time.
