My neurologist mentioned that as a next step, but my migraines are not that frequent or severe. I did have chronic (daily) migraines 2 summers ago, then started Topamax.

I don't like rhubarb... I also don't like brussels sprouts. The first is far too sour, the latter too bitter!

Even the pan roasted ones, with balsamic vinegar, blue cheese dressing, and toasted panko breadcrumbs. It's just a food I'm very indifferent to.

I have that genetic thing that makes brussels sprouts the most vile vegetable ever served... I love how they smell, but the taste is infinitely bitter.

When our kids were young, our daughter was (like most girls) crazy about anything Barbie. So we called them Barbie cabbages; & she ate them. (Our son didn't mind them so no problem with that)

JB, we belong to a CSA and last year we'd get a huge bundle of cilantro every week. The bunch of stems was at least 3 -4" in diameter; -- Every week. (I no longer care for cilantro anymore....)
I didn't care who liked what, no matter what my mom and grandmom said. If I didn't like something, I wouldn't eat it. Period. If someone else liked it, they could have mine, too!

I always asked my boys to TRY new foods, but never required it. I have too many allergies to foods that could kill me to insist that anyone eat something distasteful!

there were 4 kids in our family so if I didn't like something I could usually pass it to a sibling who would help me out when Mum wasn't looking. We all did it to get around the drama that would follow if we left something.
I think that (because we were 9 in our family, counting Grandma); we didn't waste food. We had to take something of everything that was passed, but then you had to eat it too
I wasn't trying to be contrary or rebellious, I just couldn't force the food down. The epic battle of the baked beans between me and my grandmother was won only when I started retching at the table...
we were served so there was no choosing.
SO I always gave my kids a "No Thank You" helping (maybe a teaspoon or even less, or strange foods); because I thought that a taste is enough.
I am sorry that things went that far for you JBs. My sister was like you. I just wouldn't do it.
Oh, there were five of us. And a dog (labrador) who knew exactly which kid didn't like what food, and he would lay under the table with his head pointed at that kid. I sat by my father, so it was harder for me to slip him the liver. I can't stand liver!

Oh, it became one of the family stories, Bugs, and it didn't cause me any harm. I really was trying, because it was Memere, and she loved us, and always gave us fudgesicles before bed. That night she realized that I wasn't being bad, I really just could not stomach it.

Nef, I was thinking after I hit 'enter' for that comment that perhaps it was a hand thing for you, did not mean to be unkind. I understand hand pain, have CTS in both hands, and wear splints A LOT.
JBs, it's just arthritis for me. I had injections in my left thumb the beginning of May, I've had the thumb surgery (an "anchovy procedure" in the right) but didn't want to spend summer in a cast or splint running to P.T. several times a week. I know I need the same surgery in the left thumb, but the steroid shot puts it off until fall at least.
Whew, that's fireworks for me!
