What are you up to on this holiday weekend?
nothing special....waiting to hear if we have a fourth for tennis at 11....i did go to a high school conference track championship yesterday....my great nephew competed....long, long day!
Track meets are forever long.
yes, and he was in three events....one at the beginning....one in the middle and one at the end....and it was an hour's drive away....
at least it was not hot....i had three layers on and i was not hot....
We have a sports-plex near here and people come from three and four states away for soccer games. There is no way I would ever spend that much time in the car for a kid's soccer game.
my other great nephew is in a travel baseball team....he will play in Mass., CT., NH., and NY....perhaps others if his team does well....and each stop is a multiple day tourney....it's expensive...
Just having a kid in sports is expensive, what with uniforms, equipment and such. Adding travel expenses on top of that seems really pricey.

My daughter was a figure skater. We traveled a lot to competitions. And all the lessons equipment etc. I could have bought a mansion
my niece has three boys....all are involved in sports....school year and summers....though the oldest is graduating from HS this spring and he has an internship at a bio research lab this summer....and he will be paid and receive room and board...

i visited my aunt. she is depressed, eating little and she is having trouble with nouns. it's a guessing game, and she is angry when i do not guess correctly. which is most of the time, i cannot follow her.

My mother will be 86 on Friday. She is as mentally sharp as ever, Her only problem is bad osteoarthritis.
my father was good till he left us at 88. a little slower, but still with it. watching this is very hard.
